First time here and was excited to check this place out since it’s been operating since I was born. It’s a Toronto staple. The place has graffiti everywhere and I’m guessing it’s the street/ urban vibes that they’re going for. It’s kind of a grimy bar and I didn’t expect the food to be great, I only wanted to grab a quick bite with friends before we start bar hopping elsewhere.
The vegetarian chili was mediocre. It was served to me a bit dry, the beans looked like they went through the microwave. I barely finished half of the bowl and couldn’t eat it without hot sauce because it lacked flavour. The nacho portions were ginormous and can feed 4-5 people. Don’t order it unless you’re starving.
Washrooms in the basement were clean BUT the doors were confusing to read, so much so that I accidentally walked into the mens washroom and didn’t find out until I did my business and noticed a bunch of urinals behind me (oops).
Service was a bit slow but our waitress was friendly. I would come back again but just for the drinks, not the food.
