On the Grid : Sneaky Dee's

"There’s a lot going on at Sneaky Dee’s. So many bands have graced the stage upstairs from unknown, up-and-coming, to super famous. There’s a bar close to the stage so you’ll never miss a beat. Guaranteed you’ll have a great time at any show you go see. Downstairs is a colourful, super graffitied bar and restaurant that makes arguably the city’s best nachos. (Death From Above Nachos are a personal fave, but if you can’t handle heat and are vegetarian/vegan, you’re covered too.) Tons of beers to choose from at great prices, and cocktails at a steal for $5.75. Never eat before you go, or just resign yourself to the fact that you WILL have a second dinner. It’s inevitable but oh so satisfying. Must eats: Death From Above Nachos, Greek Nachos, Pollo Adobo, Destroyer." - Sid Lee

Loved the veggie nachos, perfect snack for 3. The downstairs and upstairs only take cash. Coat check is 4 bucks at the club upstairs, they throw really good throwback nights. Super good music! The washrooms are realllly bad.

The nachos are way overpriced for the quality. Something simple as salt was lacking. The avocado jalapeno appetizer is a ridiculous addition to the menu. It's literally avocado in a tortilla with 1% jalapeno. It's like a 5-year-old came up with it. The fries we got was 50% scrap fries barely larger than my fingernail. Our waitress was at least attentive and kept our water topped up.

Really like this spot! staff are awesome, nice food and reasonable pricing, Definitely a dive bar I'd come back to! We had one odd experience with with a homeless guy playing peekaboo out the window, seems a little short staffed but the staff are doing their best. Thanks guys!

Unrivalled nachos downstairs, quintessential Toronto dive bar upstairs. Sneaky Dee’s is a staple in Toronto and hosts everything from trivia night to emo night. Service can be hit or miss, but it’s a dive!

One of the most iconic spots in the city. Sneaky Dees has been a favourite of mine since the uni days and there's no wonder why. The tex mex food, particularly the nachos, are amazing and fully loaded. I've had the greek and vegetarian styles and all are great. They've got a good selection of beers and the pricing is great value, especially for the city. The grafitti-ridden vibe of the space is hip and iconic. A must try for anyone new to Toronto and locals alike!

I've been coming to Sneaky Dees since mid 1990s. The surroundings are the same sonce then. I enjoyed 50% off Mondays. I had King's Crown nachos topped with guacamole and sour cream.

The chicken breast was overcooked, very dry. Homemade burger on the menu is frozen Costco burger. Fries and chicken wings were good. Definitely not Mexican flavours.

First time here and was excited to check this place out since it’s been operating since I was born. It’s a Toronto staple. The place has graffiti everywhere and I’m guessing it’s the street/ urban vibes that they’re going for. It’s kind of a grimy bar and I didn’t expect the food to be great, I only wanted to grab a quick bite with friends before we start bar hopping elsewhere. The vegetarian chili was mediocre. It was served to me a bit dry, the beans looked like they went through the microwave. I barely finished half of the bowl and couldn’t eat it without hot sauce because it lacked flavour. The nacho portions were ginormous and can feed 4-5 people. Don’t order it unless you’re starving. Washrooms in the basement were clean BUT the doors were confusing to read, so much so that I accidentally walked into the mens washroom and didn’t find out until I did my business and noticed a bunch of urinals behind me (oops). Service was a bit slow but our waitress was friendly. I would come back again but just for the drinks, not the food.
