On the Grid : Arcadia

"Arcadia is named after the mountainous region in Greece which came to symbolise the home of simple and rustic pastoral happiness. The cafe serves wholesome food without the pretension, catering for a range of tastes and dietary requirements. Arcadia directly sources its produce locally, and it shows. Servings are fresh, plentiful and reasonably priced. The cafe is buzzing with staff who are always polite and welcoming. A great place to escape the trends and get back to basics." - Vertigo

Melbourne’s Best Cafes for Breakfast and Outstanding Coffee | Eater

"A modest, unpretentious alternative situated just steps from busier neighbors, focusing on seasonal simplicity and ingredient-driven dishes such as corn fritters, smoked salmon and poached-egg stacks, and rosemary-and-garlic potato rosti on light rye toast." - Tristan Lutze

Awesome atmosphere and great service! Loved the chilled ambience, and its pet friendly! Good was great, lots of flavours and textures! Very generous portions! Only feedback is I wish they used chicken thigh for the burger to make it extra juicy

My first visit here was wonderful! I ordered the smashed peas and avocado, which were delicious and beautifully presented. The coffee was great, and the service was good. I thoroughly enjoyed my visit and highly recommend this place to friends and locals.

I come here at least once a month. The food 10/10 all the time. I love their eggs benny, egg in da pan and French picnic. Makes every Sunday the best day!!!

Serving up good coffee and food, Arcadia is a great cafe situated along the bustling Gertrude St. Service was friendly and the staff were really nice. We had the mushroom medley, smoked salmon board and the banana bread. The mushroom medley would make any mushie lover happy, lots of scrumptious and different mushrooms. The smoked salmon board was lovely with different components but the stand out was the banana bread for sure. It was mouth watering, so moist and the berries added a nice tartness to the dish. Thanks for having us!

Had the Mediterranean baked eggs. Sooooo good and tasty for a cold winters day. Coffee not bad either. :)
