Love the large selection of tea. The ladies were all so sweet! I think I bought too many teas… lol. Definitely will be back.

This store was such a treat! My mom and I visited while down in Point Loma for the day, and came across this shop after breakfast. The store is very cute, a super cozy atmosphere with SO MANY different choices of loose tea, matcha, and ceramic ware. I was looking to substitute some of the canned Yerba Mate teas for something a little more cost friendly and sustainable. The woman who was there gave me little samples of the loose tea to smell and helped me find the best fit for what I was looking for and I ended up getting the “Minty Mate” and the “Warrior Mate” blends. Ive been drinking the “Minty Mate” in the mornings as a cold brewed tea and it was SO GOOD. It’s light and refreshing without any of the slight bitterness I’d experienced with other Mate blends. I like to add a little bit of lemonade to it when I’m looking for a little tangy sweetness, but it’s also wonderful just cold and straight up without anything added. I would definitely recommend this shop, I love it!!

Shoutout to Sherry for being the sweetest barista! She was so patient and kind and made amazing drinks for us. Stumbled across this spot with my mom and was blown away by the huge selection of teas. I’ll definitely be coming back to try more of their iced tea flavors. The matcha latte was a standout too—perfectly strong without even having to ask!

We had a very beautiful experience doing their afternoon tea time!! We had tried a few different teas that were just so delicious!! We had the Lavender Macron, Bon Bon, and Rose Berries tea and all were amazing, the staff was very kind and informative on the process and which teas were their favorites. Our hostess Marissa was very sweet and attentive to our tea experience!! She explained all the food that came out and we felt as though we could have anything changed or modified as we needed, but it was such a perfect and smooth experience we didn’t need to change anything!! The food was very good and the perfect amount!! We had another hostess but unfortunately we didn’t catch her name, however she was very lovely and gave us great info on what teas would pair nicely with the savories and the sweets and she was more than right with the teas we received!! We were fortunate to have the room to ourselves and it was a very intimate valentines celebration!! Overall, it was an amazing experience to have and we will be coming back!!

Super friendly and helpful staff...actually took the time to explain the brewing/steeping process while making our drink. Very inviting/welcoming environment. An interesting selection of hot and cold drink options...reasonably priced in the $4-6 range. The store has lots of tea-making items including cups, spoons, steepers and...tea! They actually have a huge wall of a wide variety of teas...some interesting options including Butterbeer! I believe there is also a tea room you can reserve to host an event.

Really nice atmosphere with an impressive selection of loose leaf teas. The owner was extremely knowledgeable and helped me and several other customers make informed selections. Each parcel of tea is labeled with amount per cup, water temperature, and steep times. Very happy with the level of attention to detail.

It’s a fun tea store, serves drinks and sells pricey loose leaf teas. I’d hoped to go in and talk about teas I’d liked and get some recommendations, but the staff were more just efficient and the ideas I got from them were very surface-level not super thoughtful, though they also didn’t have many options like what I described. Didn’t want to get nothing so walked out with an overpriced but fun blend to try. Still a nice spot to visit.

I love this place, all the items they have are so cute and you can tell the owner is very passionate and knowledgable about her work! She had so many options for loose leaf tea, and if you didn't see what you need you could ask her and she could potentially look for it and add it to her inventory! She also was selling a "blind date with a tea flight" which I thought was such a fun idea. They even had cute little tea pets. Not only did they have the loose leaf and the fun tea accessories, you could also order drinks or reserve a high tea session. I was also able to bring my dog into the shop which was nice. There is a bathroom available for customers. I highly recommend checking this place out, it is such a hidden gem!

A cute shop to pick up a cute gifts and teas or just have a great cup Tea to go. We walked this was lm second time here and first time with our girl, and special time together lunch and shopping here in Liberty Station We pick up good teas and service was great she very helpful with we wanted to purchase they such a very large selection here which is I like English Breakfast and a good Chai I've even made my own before which fun But some these teas are have such great aromas here. We enjoy a tea to go too here

Love coming here for tea! I love the coco tea! I also love the baklava tea, the vanilla macaroon (i believe it's called) and the chai! I'm excited to try more! They smell AMAZING and taste great too!

Super cute tea shop! I haven't looked for a loose leaf tea shop since before Covid, so it's nice to see this one is around. I have a long time family friend that absolutely loves teas but is particular to what kinds. She has food sensitivities, so I need to be extra careful. The store has an entire wall of teas. Different drinking containers, and to a variety of tea kettles. I love seeing the different kinds of cast iron tea kettles. Great for gifts or if you have a tea kettle collection. The store can get quite busy and packed on the weekends, so it may take some time to get some help. Staff there were great and really friendly. They were knowledgeable and able to answer my questions, recommend teas and package up everything nicely to give as a gift. Located within Liberty station, it was really easy to find. Parking at Liberty station can be tricky since it's always packed, but we were lucky to be able to park right outside the store. If you love tea, give them a try! 2025: 19

Stopped by this cute tea spot and had a great experience! I ordered the bourbon vanilla frappe, and it was a delightful blend of rich flavors--smooth, creamy, and just the right amount of sweetness. My friend selected one of their premium green tea selections, which was nicely prepared with wonderful service. Point Loma Tea offers a huge array of whole leaf teas in Liberty Station next to the Public Market. Enjoy freshly brewed tea inside or get some sun and sipping with the outdoor seating nearby. I've been buying my Teas here for 8 years now. I miss the previous owner, but the lady who took over this place is also a sweet and cool person, she's very helpful with Teas and shes very entertaining. I was in the area dinning near by, so I stopped by here at Point Loma Tea, even though I still have a lot of Stocks of Tea. I can't help myself from getting more from this store. I got: *ROCK SUGAR *PINA COLLADA TEA *2 ICE TEA REFRESHERS *A small DECOR *MUG (For my sweet yelper friend) *HONEY ALMOND CAKE tea *STRAWBERRY MANGO tea *KOKO NUTS tea This store has a lot of delicious Tea selections and beautiful Tea decors for your house, for your office, or as a gift. They also have a small area for Private Tea Parties on the other room just accross their store entrance door. Sherry is very lovely and very knowledgeable on all her Teas. This was such a cute spot. I loved everything about it. It's located in a big plaza but a little hidden. It was lime a little treasure hunt to find but it was definitely worth it! I am a big tea head so I like to check out different tea spots and this one was hitting the spot for me. It was cute inside and they had a whole section where they make the tea in front of you and demonstrate and explain the notes. It's such a hidden gem! The batista that made our tea was also very sweet and helpful. It was a nice spot to stop on our drive back home and she made it feel like I was hanging out at a friend's spot grabbing some tea. Make sure to make a stop here!

I was strolling down liberty station today and it was a very chilly day so I decided to try some tea from this place and I'm honestly disappointed. The ladies took forever to take our order and there was just another party in front of us. And also noticed they were making snarky comments. That didn't sit right with me. The teas are pretty pricey too. My tea wasn't too good, but my wife really liked hers. The place is okay, they have bunch of things to purchase but I noticed some of them were already expired.

I was birthday shopping for one of my cousins who happens to love tea. I had heard of Point Loma Tea, but had never been, so last week I decided to check it out. It is located right next to Liberty Public Market. I was there midday on a Wednesday, and found a parking spot in the lot just next to the shop. When I walked in, I was the only customer there. There were two staff members who nicely greeted me. The store is cute and has lots of tea, of course, but also lots of fun gifts and decorations. They have a small bar area where you can purchase a tea to drink, as well as a back wall area where they have over 250 types of tea from all over the world. I was informed that I could buy samples, for a cup or so of tea, a large pack of tea, or a flight of various teas. I looked around for a bit, and not certain what exact flavor my cousin would enjoy, I chose the flight of herbal teas. I had stopped by during lunch, and decided that I would like a large cup of tea for myself to get me through the rest of the workday. I chose a hot Bon Bon tea, which was listed as one of the flavors of the day. I relaxed while they steeped my tea. The tea was warm and delicious, and provided me with the kick I needed to finish my work day. On my way out, I noticed a small room that was decorated for Valentines day with tea service dishes, and a couple of ladies sipping tea. It appears that they use this for afternoon tea, and tea tastings. I felt that it was a very nice and conveniently located tea shop. There were, however, a couple of places where it fell a bit short. I felt it was more of a place to grab my tea and go, rather than a place where I would sit and sip my tea, as it didn't have the atmosphere that invited me to stay. I think if they made the bar seating area more modern and slightly more spacious (maybe by clearing off some of the stuff that was for sale on the bar), and changed up the music, it would be much more inviting. The muzak/ elevator music that played while I was there, could be changed up for some light techno, or perhaps something either more classic or modern in order to provide ambiance. The other issue I had was the tea packaging. Each packet in the flight I bought had a small logo for Point Loma Tea, but when looking at the packaged flight as a whole, it reminded me of something I would find at a Home Goods store rather than something from a trendy, local tea shop. All in all, it was a great place to shop for a tea lover's birthday, and a nice place to get a flavorful tea to go.

Cute little shop with a lot of different tea selection. I really like the barista bar and how you can get any tea hot or ice or in a latte. The tea was good. Service was great and informative. I got the apple tea iced and a chocolate mint tea hot. You can pick if you want the tea sweetened or not. They have good prices from $4- $7. They have small bags of sample teas for $6 which is good to try. I bought one of the sample bags of green flash which is strawberry and papaya. It smells like gummy bears. After brewing and tasting I am glad it does not taste like gummy bears. It is a light tea with sweet undertones. I like that you can try the tea at the bar and order a bag of fresh tea to brew at home. It is located in the Liberty station. There is lots of parking. It is next to the food hall.

I went for Gojiberry sencha green and came with that and blueberry + Immuni tea. Great suggestions always with a smile! Best people ever! My recent allergic reactions have been annoying and ....Guess what? The first brewing of Immuni quelled my slaggy, congested coughing within minutes! It's a miracle in cup! After discovering Pt Loma Teas, I no longer stock bagged teas in my cabinet at home! Pt Loma makes huge difference in how I start my day! I am grateful for the exceptional tea mecca you have created!!!

I had the best tea I've ever had in my whole entire life today. I can't remember the name of this drink but it's a spin on a caramel macchiato but with tea. We absolutely enjoyed the knowledge and recommendations. Beautiful shop !! I will definitely be returning.

If you love tea, this is your home! Point Loma Tea is the real deal. Tea is their passion and the shop has the kitchy vibe you expect. Workers also love tea and their customers. Lastly, Point Loma Tea is the dream from a retired military Patriot. As she traveled across abroad, she learned about good tea with passion to have her own shop. Highly recommend.

Two of my good friends and I tried the afternoon Teat at Point Loma Tea today. We were really impressed by the cute decorations in the intimate and private tea room. We were only three, but the room could easily hold 6-8 people. We enjoyed the Scottish Caramel Pu-erh and Love Potion as the teas for our event. They were both so flavorful and smooth that they didn't require any sugar or cream. The afternoon tea treats included a cucumber/cream cheese finger sandwich, egg salad mini croissant and Italian pinwheel wrap we also got a blueberry scone, mini cupcake, individual pumpkin pie and little piece of Tres Leches cake. Our tea hostess, who is also the owner, Sherry, was a delight. She told us about all of our tea options and how she became the owner of the establishment. I love that this is an independent woman owned shop! Our group enjoyed chatting and felt looked after by Sherry and her other staff members. Once our tea time was over we checked out the store and all three of us bought either loose teas or cute tea items to take home. We are looking forward to going back with our other friends who we like to do tea parties with in the future. The only things I would add to elevate her service would be a small portion of fruit and maybe a piece of chocolate at the top of the treat tower. Otherwise fantastic!

A great place to buy a gift or enjoy a cup of tea. They have a wide assortment of loose leaf tea available for purchase and the staff is knowledgeable about the varieties and what you might like if you give them your preferred flavor profile! I found the perfect gift for a family member and was worried about shipping, they were able to get it to another state for me without issue. Will definitely be back when we need a tea restock!

Excellent I also made a specialty order of 40 sample bags for a baby shower. If you do this, take my advice and only deal with the owner; either in person or by email. Tea was great. Packaging not what I ordered.

This cute shop in the same area as the Liberty Market food court area. The service was wonderful, and the drink was delicious.

Cute place with a nice selection of teas. The owner was nice to chat with and was accommodating when we were ordering our drinks. My daughter wanted to try a selection not on the board, and she was able to do so with a $1 up charge. I tried a matcha latte and the owner made it the way she likes it, which I enjoyed. My tea-loving daughter also purchased some loose leaf tea (the very one she sampled). The owner is obviously passionate about tea and seems quite knowledgeable. The shop also offers many other tea-related items like honey, mugs with built-in mesh infusers, tea pots and many other fun novelty items. It is a bit small inside so it's not a place to hang out and enjoy your tea. The owner mentioned that she plans to expand and offer a tea room in the future. I'm sure that I'll be back when my tea aficionado is ready to return.

Exceptional tea! I stopped in San Diego for a day trip and was thrilled to discover this little oasis. I tried the cold-brewed Pu-erh tea, which had a delightful almond flavor. The quality was outstanding, and the staff were incredibly friendly. If you're visiting Liberty Station, this place is definitely worth a visit.

I am not a tea person. This amazing made recommended "La Sherry" Tea of the Day!! Wow, this is delicious. My husband had the Raspberry Lemonade - Hibiscus base & loved it. Stop by for a refreshing iced fresh made tea. Will be by in cold weather to try hot tea. z.

It wasn't until my daughter worked in a tea shop that I learned there was more to making a good cup of tea than pouring boiling water over a teabag. I buy looseleaf black, green, rooibos, and herbal teas from Point Loma Tea. I bought a Cuisinart tea kettle that heats the water to the correct temperature for each type of tea. For example, if you pour boiling water on green tea, you get bitter tea because you burned the leaves. This place will tell you on the package how long to steep your tea and what temperature water it needs. It's really simple once you get started, and you can save a fortune at Starbucks etc. by making your own hot tea and iced tea. They also sell lots of gifts and tea making accoutrement here. They also sell tea brewed to go- hot or iced! It's a cozy little shop with an excellent tea selection and knowledgeable employees.

First I'll start off by saying this place is the cutest thing I've ever seen. I felt like Alice in wonderland with all the teas and the ambiance is lovely. It also smells delicious . Sherry the employee or owner was amazing. Super sweet and so welcoming. She will answer any question you have. Me and my bf ordered drinks , he ordered the Matcha Latte iced and I got the raspberry vanilla latte. I'm effin mind blown. So delicious. Definitely coming back. The tastes and amount of sweet is perfectly balance. The flavors come through beautifully. Thank you for making this experience so nice.

Located in San Diego's famous Liberty Station, PLT is a tea boutique boasting an impressive and carefully curated collection of organic hand-picked teas. They've got high quality black, white, green, and herbal teas. There are even some interesting specialty teas such as a Harry Potter-inspired butterbeer tea. Jenny (hope I spelled that correctly) helped us out and she was AMAZING! Unbelievably warm and welcoming. She took us to their "sniffer table," an area where customers could basically *ahem* leaf through their entire tea selection. And she knew every tea! We loved how she remembered the flavor profile for every product and enthusiastically provided helpful descriptions of each along with little personal anecdotes. I even remember reading off the ingredients for one of their products and she named the tea without hesitation. Anyway, Jenny presented us with a variety of teas and then tailored her selections based on our likes/dislikes. I was able to find a gift for my mom (genmaicha) and a little something for myself (chai). The girlfriend was also happy with her purchases. We were both impressed with Point Loma Tea and were really happy with our purchases. I definitely recommend stopping by this tea shop if in the area to pick up some of their great products!

I ordered a matcha latte from here and it was one of the sweetest ones I've ever tried. I thought it would be more straightforward and just matcha given it was a tea shop so didn't think to ask about the sweetener. They said there are a few pumps of syrup so definitely ask when ordering if you don't want that because they wouldn't make a new one after the fact.

Very detailed and descriptive. First time and very educational at the to go. Then at the loose leaf section the same thing and very informative as well. They have books with ingredients and the staff there too are just above and beyond! Helped give me some tea for my son and I appreciate them all for being so patient and answering all my questions. This place is amazing and I'll be coming back at a regular customer. Place is cute and clean and busyyyyyyy!!!! I have been a customer of Point Loma Tea for a few years now. Whenever I stop in at their location at Liberty Station, the customer service is always fantastic, and the selection is always wonderful. This particular time, I ordered my teas online, and not only were the prices fair for the teas, but the time it took to get here (2 days) was way better than I expected for a small business. I even received a thank you card in my box thanking me for my purchase. I highly recommend this business for anyone who enjoys loose leaf teas.

We enjoyed a delightful afternoon tea at Point Loma Tea recently. It's served in a small, beautifully decorated room across the hall from the main shop. All of the staff were very friendly, including Sherry, the owner and 20+ year veteran of the Navy. She took over the business just a couple years ago and expanded into serving afternoon tea. The food was delicious (the cherry scones and cheesecake were to die for) and the 3 teas that we tried were very flavorful. We go to tea around San Diego quite often, so I have a few suggestions for improvement. More savories - 3 tea sandwiches aren't enough, perhaps another 1-2 sandwiches or a small soup or hot appetizer. More tea - Sherry said they don't list all 200+ tea selections on the afternoon tea menu because customers took too long to choose, but she could display a few more. Maybe 5-10 choices each in categories like black tea, flavored black tea, green tea, white tea, herbal, etc. Also, most tea houses allow each customer to choose their own flavor, so there are more pots on the table. They were good about refilling the pots we had, but we would've liked to try more varieties. Lastly, the room is a bit of a fishbowl. The door is glass, so everyone wandering into the tea shop peered into our room to see what we were doing. Just a little pull-down shade to give the tea party some privacy would be nice. All in all, Point Loma Tea is a lovely place to enjoy afternoon tea. Highly recommended.

LOVE this place! I love loose leaf tea and its getting harder and harder to find tea shops. This is one of the only ones I could find in town. I wasn't sure what to expect but its a cute little shop inside liberty station. They have lots of big jars of 60 or so herbal blends. They have your basic greens, blacks, oolongs but also lots of their own creative blends. Of course I went in there to buy some gunpowder green tea for a Moroccan tea I was making and ended up walking out with 8-10 other blends. My favorite is their sleepy time with lavender, chamomile and butterfly pea. It might seem pricey at first but its high quality, whole herbs not like the powder in a bag you find at a grocery store. This is quickly becoming my go to shop for tea!

Today friends hosted a Tea Party Bridal Shower here for my daughter. It could not have been nicer!!! The small private tea room was beautifully decorated, the table settings were lovely, and the service was both professional & friendly. The many tea choices were well described for us and were really fine. The food was varied & delicious. My daughter is a vegan and she was treated to tasty choices. Really delicious! The staff here is very welcoming and their passion for tea carries the day!

I was looking for something refreshing after eating in the Liberty Public Market, and conveniently I walked past this store. I tried the Cherry Crush tea outside the store that was facing the courtyard, and it was tart and light. I decided to check out the inside. The decor is very cute and the service was friendly and prompt. What I found interesting was that they had a process to narrow down the type of tea I would like, including whether I preferred hot or cold, floral or herbal, caffeine or no caffeine, etc. I ended up ordering an iced Green Flash. It was a subtle green tea with hints of apricot and papaya. I really liked it and I hope to come back to try other flavors.

Wow..Finally..found the blooming flower tea in the U.S. Every teas which I got were so good taste and smell :)

Located at Liberty Station, the employees are super friendly and helpful (they really know their stuff)! I overheard the owner explain that she started the business because her parents used to host international visitors when she was younger. They always had to have tea so she learned a lot about them through the years. Very cute back story and what a fond memory! There is a basket of sample teas 6 for $25 or $5 a sachet if you don't want to order by the oz. They have custom blends and ship outside of CA if you run out of your favorite new find.

She truly understands and appreciates the time-honored tradition of tea and how to apply the customer's likes and preferences to determine which blend from their extensive selection of loose leaf teas suit the customer's taste. I am a loyal customer for life, and recommend the tea lovers and tea-curious to explore Point Loma Tea.

This small business is amazing. Between the option to buy over 180 vastly different creations of tea and the completely original "Tea Bar," Point Loma Tea has something no other place has. I loved the "homey" feel that it gives you as well as how the customer service makes you feel like you've known the workers for years. This place is the perfect place to unwind and just be at peace. Point Loma Tea is definitely making something that hasn't been done before so make sure you check them out while they're still small.

Learned so much about tea today! Happened to walk into a tea class that still had room for myself and a friend. Were able to taste 4 different teas. Really recommend it! The shop itself has lots of variety and you can purchase samples or actual tins of tea depending on how much you want.
