Tacos El Cuñado Bridge St.

Waited 30 minutes for 2 orders of tacos with cilantro and onion. There is almost no space in the building so most wait outside. The toppings seem fresh but the meat was cold. The food had good flavor but the wait time and temperature of the food was lacking. I will be ordering at a different Tacos El Cuñado location next time.

It's in the corner of a not so busy street. Parking here is more comfortable pulling in the front however I personally would have backed it. It's easier to pull out with the front view. The inside is small, it's were you will place your oder. If you have questions about the meal they can answer them. They speak English and Spanish. Payment will be in the form of cash or credit card. After you place your oder, go outside and wait for your name to be called. I didn't wait that long for my food. This place does have customers which is a good sign. The food was delicious and yes I would come back so of course I do recommend it.

Update to add prices went up but quality has went down Quick and quaint. Fast friendly service and everything is so fresh and delicious. I got steak tacos and my Dad got chicken tacos and tostadas. There is ALLOT of stuff in there. Came with limes and sauces that are also fresh and delicious!

Excellent takeout spot. We had a large order for a group of 7 and service was quick and friendly m. We ordered two birria quesadillas plates; taco plate with carne Asada/al pastor/beef tongue/shrimp; steak tacos; steak nachos; 4 tamales; elote; side rice and beans; chips and salsa. Also get grilled onions, jalapeño, and limes on side. To drink only the pineapple jarritos and hibiscus tea. Everything was flavorful, fresh tasting and a good portion. Standouts were the chicken tamales in both sauces, asada, beef tongue, rice & beans. Everything reheated well the next day.

Came in an hour before closing and ordered a steak burrito to go. The service was great and friendly but I live 5 minutes away from here and my burrito was flavorful with nicely seasoned steak, but it was ice cold. Tasted like I just took a burrito out of the refrigerator and started eating it.

Amazing food and staff. Grand Rapids Onewheel stops here every friday for our group ride. Food is always delicious and served promptly. The staff is always so friendly and helpful. Thank you guys!

The last few times we’ve ordered here the beans seem to be more watered down, the steak tacos are now extremely greasy, and 2 of the 3 times the meat was either old or over done, it was hard. We used to eat here all the time and raved about this location to people but something has definitely changed 🥲

Great authentic road side tacos! I had the asada, pastor, and Elotes. All of the meat was well seasoned, juicy and tender. Shells were double layered. Onions and cilantro were fresh. The Elotes were tangy, crunchy, juicy, and just a little spicy. The parking lot is small, but there is plenty of space on the street. No restrooms that I saw, walk up to order, window to grab it when it's done. Ample seating outside. Prices were fair, food was great, overall recommend!

Tacos El Cuñado has amazing food, and it is the perfect place to stop in for take-out Mexican food. I haven't had the whole menu yet, but I've had most of it, and there is nothing I wouldn't be excited to order again. Get there ASAP!!!!

I love this Tacos El Cuñado location! They have great customer service and they are quick to make your order! The location is small and parking can be a challenge but the to go option is convenient. They also have some tables outside if you want to enjoy your food there. The food is delicious and always add a new item to our order to ensure we try everything! They have great salsas too! Our favorites so far are their torta de asada and tacos de asada. They also give you some grilled onions, limes and a jalapeño on the side! Super delicious and highly recommend this location!

The barbacoa burrito is my favorite thing ever. It's affordable and hits the spot every time. The birria is also really well done.

When I was a wee boy, I tasted the best taco in the world in a small village in Yucatán, Mexico. For years after, I have embarked on a journey across Grand Rapids in search of this taco. Countless dollars have been spent, shirts have been spilled on, and symptoms of spicy food have ensued, if you know what I mean. And yet, despite all of this, my taco perfecto had eluded me. I had all but given up until I moved to the West Side of GR and stumbled upon what could quite possibly be considered the Holy Grail of Grand Rapids Mexican food: a small, unassuming red shack on the corner of Bridge St. I'll just get down to the brass tacks. Any taco buff knows that a taco joint can be judged on one thing and one thing only: their Al Pastor. And by god, Cuñado delivers. On top of that, the Chorizo is cherishable. The steak is stellar. The chicken is, well, chicken, but it's damn good. And the salsa is just shy of perfect: it's fragrant, fresh and feisty, and pairs perfectly with any and every menu item (except the horchata, for obvious reasons). The sautéed onions provide sweet, crunchy and umami layers, and for the bold, a sauteéd Jalapeño to top it all off. All of this is housed between a generously griddled double tortilla, which bears the burden of it's toppings like an absolute champ. The value of this place is truly off the charts. I went (begrudgingly) to Donkey Taqueria the other day and paid $12 for two flimsy fake tacos. TWELVE DOLLARS for two raw tortillas with a smidge of crock pot meat in between. Meanwhile, I pay $8 for three hefty, hearty boys made with cariño down on Bridge Street, and they knock my socks off every time. The folks running this place are absolute gems as well. When you walk in, it kind of feels like you're at your abuela's house and she's pulling out all the stocks to absolutely stuff you to the brim. Although they probably see a thousand people a day, the Cuñado Bridge crew never hesitates to make my day that much better. In my opinion, Tacos El Cuñado Bridge St. humbly boasts the best tacos in town. And if you don't believe me, it'll only cost you $8 (on Tuesdays) to see for yourself.

Love Tacos El Cunado. Great prices and nothing fancy which is exactly what you want from an authentic taco stand. I'd say your best bet is to call/order ahead (they are on uber eats) and go pick it up. They are quick to make the food usually. Between 5-15 minutes and the food is fresh. They have a couple spaces you can park in or along the side streets. Their 12 inch quesadilla is huge!! Literally has so many fillings and it's kind of hard to pick up and eat but genuinely it's SO good. They also have some of my favorite rice and beans around town. It's a huge serving as well!

This is the taco spot I always recommend to newcomers to GR - specifically this location on Bridge Street. Very authentic tacos at a great cost. And always a generous serving of guac

had a wet burrito it was so damn dry. Had to get water. first off I asked for no onions or tomato they pretended like they wrote only tomatoes, and then my wife ordered a wet fruit, no onions and they put onions all up in the wet burrito they refuse to remake our order, even though it was not busy and When asked for a refund, they proceeded to say just take the burritos be rude and disrespectful. The atmosphere of this place is very negative energy.

I got the steak burrito and it was pretty good! Meat was a little on the dry side, but once you as the red or verde sauce, it is fine. They were out of the barbacoa, which was my first choice, so I thought to try it. They were super sweet and kept apologizing about running out of the meat, but it was all good! If I had an option for both though, I'd still stick with the barbacoa.

Delicious. We have been here twice now and havr only good things to say about this location! It is a small pick up location that you call your order into. There are tables for outdoor seating but that is not helpful in the winter :) Carne asada tacos are our favorite and we love the traditional onions and cilantro that come with it. It's corn tortillas, for the gluten free conscious who want to know these things! Tacos also come with limes, roasted peppers and onions. Your order also come with red and green salsa of which the green is actually the spicier one! We have gotten chips and guacamole here (regular side pictured, large order is double it) and it is delicious. The guacamole has tomatoes in it and maybe a little sour cream? And they leave the avocado pits in to help avoid browning! Prices are extremely reasonable and you get plenty of food. We will keep coming back!

absolutely pissed!!! I order lunch today for pick up go pick it up get back to work and there's a cap in my food WTF and I'm not the person to write reviews or complain about food or service because I don't like the possibility of someone messing with my food ... and there food is usually great and nice people but this time I'm so upset because I start thinking about what else I might have already ate ;( then I bring it back to them and all I got was a sorry are you kidding me lol I don't know what I even wanted if anything but this could have went so many different ways.. and sorry definitely doesn't change or do anything at that point so I just left it in the counter and walked out so now they get my very first reviews ......

This place doesn't look like much from the outside, but they have the best authentic steak/asada tacos in town. One of a few locations in GR. I ordered their lunch special of 2 steak tacos with cilantro and onions and a side of rice and beans for carryout for around $7. The tacos take me back to when I lived on the west side of Chicago and would order tacos probably twice a week at this whole in the wall establishment. Those are the best places for authentic Mexican tacos/burritos. The indoor counter is large enough for only 1 party placing an order. You then get your receipt with a number. While you wait outside, your number will be called from the window for your order to be picked up. Staff was friendly and let me know my order would take 8-10 min. I didn't have to wait longer than that to satisfy my craving for delicious authentic tacos.

The holy grail of tacos in Grand Rapids. Every location I've been to has been consistent in quality and service. The Al pastor tacos will change your life, and the prices will give you a great excuse to frequent this amazing business ran by amazing people.

I wrote a review for this spot already, but I want to write another one. The food here is so good. Their burritos remind me of Mexican food from the Southern California/Los Angeles area. Whenever I am feeling nostalgic and need to satisfy my need for food-comfort, Tacos El Cuñado~ You never fail!

Takeout. This was my first time for Tacos el Cuñado - picked a great day to try them on (Cinco de Mayo AND taco Tuesday). The line at about 6:15ish was LONG (always a good sign that the place is good). Social distancing precautions were followed by & reinforced by the staff. Wait time for small orders was quick. I ordered a beef tongue, pork, and chicken taco. Ranking by fav: pork (SO MUCH FLAVOR and moist, lots of meat), chicken (good flavor, lots of meat, a little dry), beef tongue (good flavor, good amount) [note: I enjoyed each one). They give you a side of grilled/sautéed onions, two sauces, lime, & half of a giant jalapeño. I combined the sauces for major heat. They double wrap the tacos (so two corn tortillas per taco), which kept things from falling apart - brilliant! Next time I go I need to try their tamales and quesadilla...

We had a friend mention this place recently. Stopped by on a hot and humid August evening. We were surprised that this place was small. Basically a walk up area to order inside and that is it. Benches on the side. The joint was busy! Continuous stream of customers while we were there around 6pm on a Monday evening. Lots of young people. Glad to see the place busy and it told me the food might be ok. ;) We ordered a steak burrito, pork torta, chicken tacos and a chicken quesadilla. The meat was very good on each item. The seasoning was perfect and there was decent amounts of meat in each item. I didn't give a 5* because the lettuce, tomato, etc could have been better. But overall very good. The prices are great. A+ for being very affordable. The young man taking our order could have been a bit more polite, but these days I guess you're happy to get help at all. I would recommend to a friend to try this place. Tasty fare. I look forward to another visit to try some other items.

Love the staff (they're so nice ) and the food here. I always get a horchata for my Mami and I whenever we pass by. And the prices are actually really reasonable for what you're getting, I always get three tamales and salsa verde and it usually fills me up for about $10 I believe. (That's not including what I buy for family ) It does include a Jarrito--which they do have as well. Also have had their Flan and can recommend that 100%, it started a war between my coworker and I when he accidentally ate it. It was worth the fight. All in all, I'm so happy they've been around for so long. Here's to making more memories here with my mother. (:

Not all Tacos El Cunados are the same. This one is the real deal. Tacos are so so good and sauces are top notch. Add the avocado to the steak tacos and you won't regret it! New menu addition of corn on cob. Ummmmm, the best corn ever. And I mean ever. I have the desire to go get me some right now. If you don't like tacos (is that a thing), just go for the corn. Trust me.

Brace yourselves, Karens! While it may appear to be a ramshackle street corner enterprise, it has the best Mexican food in west Michigan. This place serves bona fide hole-in-the-wall tacos, tamales, and quesadillas. Best items in my opinion: tamales and classic asada tacos. Advice to newcomers: call ahead your order. When it's around meal times, waits can be up to 20 minutes in a gravel lot or, if you're lucky, unoccupied bench.

Tacos! The best part about Tacos el Cunado Bridge Street is that it's right around the corner from Lincoln Park, so you can get your tacos and have a picnic nearby. My boyfriend and I did just that over the summer during COVID - the walk up window and takeout model works well for them, I think. We each got two tacos and a bottled soda. The tacos didn't take long to come out and then we were on our way! I usually get asada tacos anywhere I go, and these were really good: flavorful and juicy with lots of onion and cilantro. These authentic tacos are super tasty and I can usually get full on just a couple. They also have burritos, quesadillas, and other yummy options. Definitely worth a stop if you like tacos!

Literally the best tacos. Just go. This is also, in my opinion, the best location of the Tacos El Cunado "chain", some of the other places are hit or miss. This one looks sketchy but that's where you know you'll find the best food, right?

I go here frequently and always enjoy authentic cuisine the tamales and the corn are by far my favorites but I enjoy the tacos the horchata is the best it's always served quickly and the people who work there are always kind and friendly if you want authentic tamales or some amazing Mexican corn make sure you go to the tacos el cunado on Bridge Street! TACOS! Now that I have your attention, let's taco-bout Taco Tuesday!! Tacos El Cunado is the REAL DEAL when it comes to authentic Mexican food. You do not want to miss out on this place! Although they are known for their tacos, you can also order quesadillas, tortas, tostadas, burritos and more! Be careful though, these tacos are totally addicting Over the years, Tacos El Cunado has become a not-so-hidden gem, but if you still haven't checked them out yet - it is a must! They have multiple locations so be sure to find one near you!

Super good tacos, quesadillas and elote. I was a little hesitant to get shrimp tacos but they were really good and I'll definitely get them again.

PRO TIP: Do NOT standing just outside the door waiting for the crowd to clear inside. It IS NOT going to. Just ease your way in order & step back outside once you've placed your order. Otherwise, the rest of us craving tacos are going to walk right past you. Being half Mexican-American I've had my fair share of chorizo....THIS PLACE HAS THE BEST IN WEST MICHIGAN!!! Hands down! The quesadillas are huge and enough for 2 people to split. Add a single taco on for each of you if you're really hungry.

Yesssssssss. Finally an amazing taco place in Michigan! This place was recommended to me by my airbnb host, so I drove an hour out of my way to get it. Taco hunting really is a sport. I got the carne asada, which wasn't super marinated, but I still liked it. However, it's all about the quesadillas! Get the grande, you're going to need it. I'm still working on mine, it's quite large. Fast service, seating is only at the picnic tables outside.

Never knew this place existed, and wow am I happy I tried it! I got two American style tacos, both without onions and cilantro. One steak and one pork. Both the steak and pork were extremely juicy and flavorful, and cooked to perfection. The tortilla wrap was very authentic, and the salsa was a nice addition. Not too spicy but not bland either. Good portions as well, and I was full off just two. Would highly recommend and I will definitely be coming back!

Every Tuesday they have tacos three for five! But today was tostada Tuesday for me. Must of had ten shrimp on it. Always quick service and great food!

My hubby and I have been together long enough that he knows when I'm having a bad day skip the flowers and bring me a bouquet of tacos instead! This is amazing, authentic Mexican done correctly with no frills. This sweet lil taco shack has no parking lot, no inside seating, no ac in the summer. You order, you get, you leave. There is some seating outside in the summer but we always get it to go. Service has been fine but really lets talk about the tacos... mmmmm All the varieties are good, we've tried them all. Our mainstays though are the lengua (always tender never tough or chewy) and the chorizo (wonderfully spicy but not over powering) They serve them up in warm corn tortillas and send along the BEST green and red salsa hot sauce. We get ours with cilantro (hold the onion thank you) but you can also get them "American style" (lettuce,tomato,cheese) Not a taco fan (do these people exist?) no worries they also have burritos, tortas and quesadillas PS don't forget to get a horchata

Just left this place after trying the carne Assad's tacos (5stars), red tamale (4stars, it was good but I think it lacked a punch of flavor), and a asada quesadilla (2 1/2 maybe 3 stars, it's expensive, $9 for a large and it doesn't have enough cheese or meat for that price. Plus it has lettuce and tomatoes in it, which I don't should be put in a quesadilla unless you ask for it). The review is mainly for delicious tacos!

Tried this place out at the market and was pleasantly surprised. Because of that, I had to see what home base is like. The place is set up weird if you're there for takeout. There isn't much of a counter so you're stuck standing while looking at the menu or waiting. On a summer day that's fine but we're in Michigan so that's not the best. Your order comes with onion, jalapeño and hot sauces. The server made us feel rushed and it made me scared to order more of them. I'll probably stick to the other location since the food is good but the service isn't stellar.

My husband introduced me to Tacos El Cuñado when we first started dating, and I've been hooked ever since. Nowhere else in town can I get such an authentic vegetarian Mexican meal. They say money can't buy happiness, but it sure as hell can buy Tacos El Cuñado. Expect to be full for only $8. Their portions are very generous, and they stack on ingredients for no extra charge. I order a veggie burrito (no cheese or sour cream) which means rice and beans (arroz y frijoles) plus "American" toppings: lettuce and tomatoes. Oh my gosh, I'm craving one even writing this review. There are, I believe, three locations in town as well as pop-up tents at fairs and festivals, reason being that the demand is so high. If you go to this location (Bridge St) during weekday lunchtime, expect to wait for about a half hour. Any other time, including dinner and weekends, it's only about a 10-15 minute wait. And leave a nice tip in the tip jar because you can't get better food from a local vendor, and I really want Tacos El Cuñado to be able to stick around!

Apparently they cannot hear the difference between bean and beef. I ordered a bean and cheese quesadilla. I got beef. They said I ordered it. They gave me my money back. So loved this place. Not anymore.

BEST tacos I've had so far in Grand Rapids! I stopped here yesterday after moving into my new place and I was famished. I ordered a chorizo taco as well as an asada! Both were so tasty and fresh. My friends both ordered the large steak quesadilla and they both loved it as well. If you are looking for tasty, authentic, and casual tacos this is a must try! Not to mention the prices are very easy on the wallet!

Perfect Cinco de Mayo feast. It's a little West side hidden gem. Very authentic. I had lengua, chorizo and pollo tacos. Guacamole and rice and beans. I couldn't finish it all. The perfect amount of spice, cilantro with added limes, grilled onions on the side. I would have given it 5 stars but they forgot the chips.

Where I grew up chorizo was reserved for breakfast burritos or tacos, always served alongside eggs. But at several Grand Rapids restaurants, chorizo is allowed to shine by itself. And it really shines at Tacos El Cuñado. Everything shines at El Cuñado. The chorizo is spicy and the asada is perfectly browned and seasoned. The tamales have a nice sweetness in the masa and there's a ton of fillings in the them. The fruit with chamoy and tijin is worth every bit of $2. Also, they offer a taco Tuesday, 3 very large tacos for $5.

Stopped in after throwing back beers at New Holland Brewery. El Granjero Mexican Grill. Ordered the Alambre Especial for dinner. It was delicious and the pico salsa and guacamole was muy bueno and tasty.

I think these are my new favorite tacos in Grand Rapids! They are somewhat similar to Luna and Donkey but the portions are bigger and the prices are cheaper! I tried the pollo and pastor tacos and they were both fantastic! The pastor taco was a little better than the pollo but that's probably just personal preference. The tacos come with a jalapeño, lime wedges and onions plus two salsas. This location is take out only but they have picnic tables outside. I can't wait to go back when it is nice to eat outside and try something new from their menu!

Can you say authentic affordable tacos?! I love Tacos El Cunado and I stop there whenever I'm driving by, for quick and delicious tacos! I definitely recommend this quick little hole-in-the-wall authentic taco shop. Stop by if you have a chance!
