Flour Bluff’s unfussy raw bar shucks Texas‑grown oysters and dishes étouffée, stuffed flounder, and live‑music nights. Noted by Texas Highways for oyster‑shell recycling efforts, it’s deeply plugged into Coastal Bend waters and producers.

Nice little hidden gem 💎 just down the road from the NAS CC. ⚓️✈️🇺🇸 Immediate outdoor & dog friendly patio seating. Sat outside & enjoyed the live music & nice weather. Enjoyed a delicious order of hush puppies, crawfish bisque 🍜 & seafood gumbo. 🥘 Thanks for dinner!

Google
We had a great experience dining here. The oysters were fresh and tasted amazing. The staff Hannah was very kind and sweet who even offered bug spray for us. The water was great.

Google
This place is no more than 2 out of 5 stars for me.😔 I had high hopes for the crawfish bisque, but unfortunately, it lacked salt and seasoning — it tasted bland. My husband felt the same way. The shrimp we ordered were overcooked and a bit tough. We got 8 small shrimp for $19, which felt overpriced. The oysters were quite good, but honestly, I’m not sure it’s even possible to mess up raw oysters. The place was pretty crowded — I guess the locals enjoy it. Maybe they just haven’t had anything better to compare it to? The waitress who served us forgot to bring water for our dog, even though we specifically asked. That was disappointing.😢😢😢

Google
The tuna nachos are simply amazing! The service was good. Looked like the restaurant was set up to have live music outside, sorry we missed that.

Google
This is a nice seafood restaurant convenient to NAS CORPUS CHRISTI. Good menu with fare you'd expect at a seafood joint. Gumbo was decent.

Google
Thos was a great little place to eat. It is away from the hustle of town so the wait wasn't long. We were seated immediately. Oysters were great. Service was wonderful. Would definitely go back.

Google
These are some of the best fried mushrooms you’ll find around here! Light breaded, flavorful and full mushrooms. Service was fast and friendly but not rushed. It’s a bit loud in there since the tables are close together with an overall small space. Fish and shrimp was delicious and fresh!

Google
Food was delicious, and it was hard to decide what to eat for our short trip. We did sit in the back and arrived right before the afternoon rush, so after receiving our food we did get a little forgotten on refills but we manged to finish about the same time as our food, almost. Just got to say the sweet tea was delicious and was happy to get a to go refill, thank you!

Yelp
Excellent service, hometown feel environment, and delicious food! Trifecta! My husband was in a mood for seafood. We started driving and came across this local gem thanks to other yelpers! The blackened fish sandwich with speciality bun was noted as most folks favorites, so we tried it. We both added tartar sauce which tasted homemade. Side of fries, very delicious and perfect crunch. I added grilled jalapeños and pickles to my sandwich, because why not. Both sandwiches were freshly made, right off the stove but perfect temperature to consume and enjoy! Flaky sway fish, blackened to perfection and seasoned to taste. Our drinks of choice were the Arnold Palmer and they nailed that too. Perfect mixed of sweet tea and lemonade, which also tastes freshly made but I don't know for sure. Your taste buds will thank you and my husband said and I quote "this is best fish sandwich I've had in the US". That's saying a lot considering his food preferences. Thank you so much AK for the hospitality and kindness. She made our first time very enjoyable with her service. Grateful we found another local gem and can't wait to return! Until next time...

Yelp
I forgot to take photos of our entrees. We went with the oyster trio with the cocktail sauce topping being my favorite. I was not as fan of the Parmesan topped oyster. There wasn't much flavor to it. We also decided to try the shrimp and oyster entree served with fries plus an order of fried pickles. We also ordered a side salad and asked for thousand island dressing but instead got the tar tar sauce. Apparently, it's what they had in place of thousand island which we thought was odd. We switched it to ranch dressing. Service was great. Our waitress attended to us well. Not a bad place if you're in the mood for oysters.

Yelp
Came in for the first time based on a recommendation from a friend. The restaurant is right before you cross over the bridge to Port A. We were able to take advantage of lunch and it was a Friday so we got $0.50 off our beers. The gumbo was good but it was a bit greasy. The lunch special was a good value but we got the shrimp sandwich and there were only 5 shrimp in the sandwich. The bread was toasted and super tasty. I got my sandwich with a salad but I tried the fries on another plate and they were delicious!! It was a good experience and Nico was our waitress and she was great. Will definitely be back.

Yelp
Fried oysters were very large and full of flavor! There is nothing better than Gulf of Mexico Oysters, so SALTY, so tasty! Boudin Ball appetizer hit the spot. My companion ordered fried shrimp - the fresh gulf shrimp were large with the perfect amount breading to keep them tender. We paired the meal with local brews and sat outside on the patio for a nice, quiet dinner. Waitress was friendly, helpful with suggestions, and attentive. Highly recommend.

Yelp
You're going to get some of the freshest seafood at this joint; why wouldn't you? This city is almost completely on water! My family was being a bunch of weirdos so I arrived alone, with my book--my guilty pleasure--a hood book, I won't disclose the title ;-)....i digress.... I grabbed a seat indoors. Outside seating was available; sounded like a madhouse that Sunday night. The live band was rocking! My waitress looked to be about 12; super adorable, very sweet. She checked in on me about every 13 seconds. Nothing too special about my salad but the ranch seemed to be of good quality. No hidden valley here! The oysters and pickles were lightly fried, no heavy batter, and seasoned just right. The snapper was the star of the show for It was a specialty of the day. I would've liked a few more crawfish in my etouffee for that $30 price tag, but I get....they have bills as do I! All in all, I enjoyed my visit. I loved the "down home, divey " feel. Black Diamond for the "W"!

Yelp
We arrived on a Thursday around 6 p.m. for our first visit. Parking was easy, but the entrance was a little hard to find. There was no hostess stand near the front, so we had to wait by the door until someone came to seat us. The inside was small, but they had a patio that allowed dogs, which was perfect since we brought ours. The patio was comfortable with large fans that kept the air moving. There were bar stools and tables outside, and it wasn't too hot. Our server was nice, though she didn't tell us her name. She took our drink orders and let us know they had several local beers on tap. I ordered the Nueces Blood Orange. It was light, crisp, and had a nice citrus flavor. My wife ordered a Tito's with Sprite and lime, which came in a goblet. It was an interesting choice of glass. For food, we started with a dozen oysters. They were fresh and very good. My wife ordered the ahi tuna nachos with ginger aioli. They were delicious and came in a big portion that could easily be a full meal. The dish had pickled jalapeños, which she didn't love, but it wasn't enough to ruin the dish. I had the fish and shrimp. The white fish was light and flaky with a crispy batter that wasn't soggy. The Gulf shrimp were large and fresh with a crunchy, slightly oily coating. For dessert, we took home a slice of key lime pie and a slice of butter pecan pie. Both were made from scratch and really good. The butter pecan pie was especially rich and full of flavor. Overall, the food was excellent and the service was good. Being able to bring our dogs made it even better. We'll definitely be back next time we're in town.

Yelp
Came around 1400 and was promptly seated. We were given the option for indoor/outdoor/bar seating and ended up choosing outdoor as it wasn't too hot out. Our server Kaitlynn was very nice, attentive, and always kept our drinks full. Both the coconut shrimp and the special were both really fresh. Sides were also on point. I expected the fries to be bland but it had a good amount of flavor along with the veggies and rice. The food we ordered was more than enough leaving us without room for dessert but there is always next time. Tldr: 10/10, food was great, would eat here again

Yelp
Found this place from Yelp and omg we are so happy we came. The best shrimp we have ever had at a restaurant. And the crawfish bisque was devine and full of crawfish! The entire crew was super friendly and helpful with the menu decisions. Plus they have an outdoor stage that used to be a pontoon boat!
google avatar

Tabby C.

Yelp
Staff was very nice and accommodating and sat a big party of 15 with a decent wait time of 30 minutes with a packed restaurant! Sat outside and was nice and cool and had fans around. Food was pretty good and everything came out correct! Great place to come with family!

Rebecca B.

Yelp
We ordered a few things off the menu, and they were all fabulous! The gumbo however really stood out and is truly amazing! I ended up rd wring a bowl to taking a bowl to go home. The last two times haven't been so great!

Yelp
My husband and I stopped here during our little day trip to Corpus Christi with our dogs and we loved the food! Needless to say, there were no leftovers! Also, the staff was super nice and even helped us get some water for our dogs. We dined outside and it was really pretty. The staff even turned on their giant fan for us to cool down during the hot day.

Yelp
Food - raw oysters were ok today not cleaned as well as you normally serve. Server acted as if she would rather be somewhere else. And did not smile or ask us if everything was good. We drive about 120 miles one way so our effort to come down to BDOB is high. Older seafood decor inside clean but outdoor area needs attention.

Linda W.

Yelp
I always always always order the oysters on the half shell - they are always fabulous and fresh. I must admit that I am also a sucker for their gumbo - it is the best around since we're not in New Orleans! Also, check out the specials!

Yelp
When a reputable Seafood business in business over 50 years sells SWAI as their fish on a Seafood Platter for $16.99 is a TRAVESTY! When I'm told "most people don't know the difference!" WOW!! Their margin of profit must be Impressive! A fish raised in large ponds in the Mekong Delta! Please pay attention & ask ?s! Navy Jim

Yelp
Enjoyed the ahi tuna as and appetizer. Crawfish bisque was tasty. Was nice to sit outside and enjoy the nice evening until the mosquitos showed up, and then it was game over!

Yelp
Oysters, shrimp, and fish were outstanding. Fried pickles were the best we have ever had. Great service. Reasonable prices. Can't wait to go back!

Yelp
What a delicious find!!!! A small family owned local restaurant is a must go to. We had the oyster trio to start. This had oyster Robert, Rockefeller and New Orleans. All were amazing. We ordered a couple specials for dinner. The habanero shrimp and the mahi with crab and shrimp.. The habanero shrimp was sweet spicy, and delicious . The mahi had a nice Cajun kicked to it. The mahi was served nice Ponchartrain sauce.
google avatar

Yelp
Great food! Bread pudding was yummy. Always on our must stop list when in town. Oysters were good as always. As a family from the desert we love our seafood when in the area!

Yelp
I honestly feel this is my favorite oyster bar on the entire gulf coast! I may be impartial because I lived nearby and ate here weekly for almost a year! This place is a staple and the flavors and atmosphere stay true! 5 stars in my book

Yelp
We have stayed at the Navy Lodge many times over the years, and had no idea this hidden gem was just outside the front gate! Initially, we went to Doc's, but with a 1.5 hour wait...THAT wasn't happening. I think my wife called the front desk at lodging for a recommendation...and what a fantastic recommendation! We were greeted with a very friendly young lady at the front door and seated as soon as we arrived. It's not a huge place, so I recommend you get there early. Parking was sufficient, but the way the food tastes, they may need to expand. Every dish was outstanding. The fried gator bites, black drum Pontchatrain was seasoned to perfection, as was the fried shrimp! The BDOB is, IMHO, knows how to cook and treat their customers. Huge shoutout to the chef, and our waitress...OUTSTANDING all around, and...we will be back! Date visited: Saturday evening | 7:45 PM (est.).

Rihana C.

Yelp
Menu just says "whitefish" but is a viatnamese farmed catfish that is known for being full of hormones and antibiotics. They are on the Texas ocean serving with some of the best fishing serving fish from another country. I felt super sick after eating here and glad I figured out why!
google avatar

Roseadel G.

Yelp
Food was deliciously fresh. Service was friendly, quick and courteous. The casual ambiance makes you feel right at home. Will be a new go to spot on beach trips!

Leslie S.

Yelp
Best dinner on vacation! We had the best meal here. Started with the fried crawfish tails-lightly battered and seasoned great. Moved on next to the special for today-blackened snapper with a lemon cream sauce. OMG it was so good, Iam going to be dreaming of this fish until we can make a return trip. Rice pilaf was good and vegetables were seasoned well. Ended with the buttermilk pie with roasted pecans. I could never have guessed this was buttermilk pie, it was more like a dessert bar vibe to me but was hands down delicious. It had a light crust with hints of cinnamon. Overall, fantastic meal from start to end. Service was great as well

Yelp
Stopped by after a day at Mustang Island. I saw fried pickles on the menu and I was sold lol. We were seated right away, outside because we had our fur baby with us. They were so kind and brought our dog an ice cold bowl of water. Service was great and our order came out pretty quick. I ordered a side of fried shrimp and my husband ordered the fish and shrimp plate. All of our food was delicious. I personally wasn't a fan of the coleslaw but my husband liked it. The aesthetic is very "beach town" vibe with indoor and outdoor seating and a stage outside for live music.. we enjoyed our experience here!
google avatar

Zhen T.

Yelp
We had a great experience dining here. The staff was very friendly and the oysters were delicious and fresh. There is an outdoor and indoor. I would recommend the outdoor because of the live music and the ambiance felt more natural. Good water

Yelp
The locals mentioned this is a hidden spot but with these rave reviews, I see a bigger location in their future. Absolutely spot on with all the dishes !

Yelp
I really enjoy this place. Cook your catch is always a plus after coming in from fishing. Give it a try

Yelp
Consistent quality and service, the food is fresh and served hot. Delicious specials and ample servings.

Yelp
This restaurant and staff are one of a kind. They were very attentive and d very kind, our waitress brought my dog ice water, I've never had a place do that, such great service I will always eat here while in town. The place had a very dive bar feel as well as a home town feel. The food was delicious and I would say the shrimp was my favorite.

Yelp
The Joint is full of good oysters and good service. The rugged atmosphere is just limey - just an old timers fisherman's wharf bar !

Yelp
Food was excellent. - salad - crawfish bisque - oysters - fried fish - shrimp & crab queso Service was excellent. Yea AK! I had seen the reviews on Yelp before going and read all about AK. So when the server introduced herself, I was very pleased that we were getting the bright star of the restaurant. The food was superb. The crawfish bisque was out of this world. It was better than some of the lobster bisque I have eaten up east. The oyster and fish dinner that I had, the oysters were so fresh and the fried fish was very very good. I would only say that, perhaps some of the meal had too much salt, but that was our Subjective opinion. shrimp and crab queso although it was very good, by the time we got to it, we were so full - we brought it home. we had tea and water with our meals so we cannot give any opinion on any of the special drinks And they did have some really delicious looking desserts but we were so full that we just about rolled out of there. I would highly recommend this place it is right outside of the Naval Air Station. It is definitely worth stopping versus going through to one of the padre island, seafood restaurants and the prices are decent. Hope you get AK, too.

Yelp
I fall in the midst of my Yelper friends and rate Black Diamond a solid 4-star establishment. There were things worthy of a 5-star mark, other items were more on the order of a 3-star rating. We had a few drinks (Cat 5 Hurricane, Peppermint Bark, Tanqueray/Tonic), all were good! Let me start by briefly stating that "AK" was our waitress... she was awesome... walked us through the menu, explained lots, and answered all questions... as the place got busier while we were there, she still stopped by an often! 5-Star service... attentive, but not intrusive ... thanks AK!!! General observation about the place... Food service... everything came out of the kitchen HOT (temperature), a few dishes so hot we had to let them cool off before enjoying them! Lots of locals eating there (speaks volumes), including many "Winter" Texans. Great conversations with the locals! We opted to start with oysters... some of the half-shell variety and then the oyster-trio. The half-shell oysters were "da bomb" ... plump and juicy, with horseradish and cocktail sauce on the side (we were yearning for a mignonette sauce, but no luck). The baked oyster trio was a bit out of our "what we like" zone... a dozen oysters fixed Roberts-style (cocktail sauce, jalapenos, cheddar cheese), Rockefeller-style (cream cheese, spinach, bacon, Swiss cheese), and New Orleans-style (white wine, butter, garlic, parmesan). Our fav was probably the "Nawlins-style, which were very good. Between the fried goodies and the entree, we sampled a cup of the house gumbo, a bit "fishy" for our palates... when we make gumbo, it never includes fish, usually shrimp or chicken/duck with andouille sausage. The gumbo was good, just not our preference. And in Port A/Corpus Christi, why not enjoy some fried food, right...? The next food salvo consisted of fried oysters and fried mushrooms. Fried oysters were tasty, but a but limp. The fried mushrooms were on point, exactly what anyone would want... piping hot! Deelish! One note about the batter on both the oysters and the mushrooms, it was a bit salty, remedied by removing some of the batter and dunking in ketchup! LOL We split the one of the daily specials as an entree ... the blackened mahi-mahi topped with crab and "crawtails." Very tasty fish, but the blackened seasoning was very overpowering, a bit too much. We scraped some of the seasoning off, and the fish was very good. The side of grilled veggies was great! So, a solid 4-star place, with outstanding oysters. We'd likely go back to Black Diamond just to eat the oysters on the 1/2 shell, they were some of the best we've had in a long time. Shucked and served ice-cold... YUM! Recommend Black Diamond next time you're in the neighborhood!

Tami L.

Yelp
We truly enjoyed discovering this hidden gem. The atmosphere was welcoming, the service attentive, and the food exceeded expectations. We sat on the back patio, where the live music added a wonderful energy--present enough to enjoy, but still quiet enough to hold a conversation with ease. Originally, we had planned to dine at Doc's or Snoopy's, but the packed parking lots had us looking for a more relaxed alternative. While this spot isn't waterfront, the overall experience was so enjoyable that we'd happily choose it again--even when the crowds aren't an issue. A great find!

Yelp
Excellent and FRESH seafood. We were tired of the overcrowded Port Aransas seafood places and wanted to try something else. Instead of waiting 45min - 1 hr at those places, we decided to drive a bit and stop at Black Diamond Oyster. It's less than a mile once you cross bridge and it did not disappoint. Small indoor seating area but great and lively outdoor area. We chose to sit inside since there was room. We started with the bisque. Very creamy but tasty. I had the Stuffed Crab Fish meal and it was juicy and fresh. My wife had the Fried Shrimp meal and everything was fresh and delicious. We ended with the Peach Cobbler that tasted home made. Rivaled the homemade one my wife makes that's to die for. Highly recommend this place and will stop by again. A great find and must try for anyone.

Yelp
Simply delicious! The staff was very friendly and helpful. Everything from the appetizers, salads, main course, and dessert was made from scratch. I would definitely recommend.

Yelp
Amazing food and service!! We got the oyster trio, gator bites, and garlic parmesan shrimp and everything was absolutely delicious.
google avatar

Tricia G.

Yelp
We visited Black Diamond tonight and had an amazing meal and an awesome experience. Robert was an excellent server and never left us wanting food or drink. We started with a couple of IPA's and a dozen oysters on the half shell. Delicious!! We then wanted to try something different so Robert recommended the New Robert oysters which were not the Robert oysters but the New Orleans oysters with a jalapeno on top which made them the new Robert's! I loved them and we told Robert they should be on the menu. The music on the Patio was great, she played some Stevie Nicks, jimmy Buffet and more. We loved our time and will definitely go back!
google avatar

Esther L.

Yelp
As a first time diner, I believe we may have come during a rush. It look a bit to be seated. There was also no draft beers. There was also a wait for plates to come out and drinks. But the oysters more than made up for it. Tried the baked oyster trio and loved them so much we ordered a dozen of the oysters Rockefeller. Cocktails were good. The place was small but had a nice cozy vibe.

Brenda R.

Yelp
Great food and service. Had the blackened fish and shrimp, gumbo was delish too. Great Outdoor ambiance with live music.
google avatar

Lauren W.

Yelp
The food is always delicious and fresh and the service is always great! Really great coastal vibe and our kids always enjoy it too!

Sarah S.

Yelp
Good seafood sandwiches, but totally disappointed!! They no longer have FRESH Cut Fries!! So sad! Main reason for enjoying the side order. Won't be back...until they bring them back. P. S. Oyster Rockefeller not worth it! Bad choice.
google avatar

Mas S.

Yelp
This place has all the charm from the moment you walk in. We ordered Ahi fish sandwiches grilled and they did not disappoint. AK was so warm and welcoming we felt right at home. Can't wait to return with our family next visit to Corpus Christi.

Yelp
Our daughter and son in law came from San Antonio to take us out to dinner, and we ended up here. Everything we had was amazing. We tried so many different things. Our SIL said it tasted better than seafood in NOLA. And the two of them have been back for lunch and dinner several times. The service was super and our server was a sweetie. And the bonus was a sweet women playing the guitar and singing the night away. Don't pass by this place! You will love it!

Marisa Trevino V.

Yelp
First time visiting. Enjoyed the atmosphere and staff was incredible. Food reviews were mixed from the family. Chicken and fish sandwich were winners. Seared tuna was excellent with homemade ginger and sweet chili sauces. The only mid review was the grilled fish and vegetables . Too salty and overcooked. Oysters were small. All and all a great experience.

Shelby B.

Yelp
First time trying this place. All food was delicious. All staff was friendly and eager to greet us and serve us. Only complaint is it took a while to get our food but they were short a fry cook, our server was so incredibly friendly while we waited for our main dishes. There is not a ton of seating space so be okay with possibly have to either way for an inside seat or be okay with sitting outside area to eat.
