On the Grid : Nomad

"Nomad has a great logo (just saying). Ok that's the design review out of the way. A place to impress, they serve up a Middle Eastern-influenced set of deliciousness, in a sleek exposed brick, high ceiling, concrete floored warehouse at the hands of Head Chef Nathan Stasi (from Heston Blumenthal's Dinner in London). Owned by Rebecca Littlemore and Al Yazbek, the place has a focus on 'house made' with as much as possible of their menu produced on site. They have a huge array of pickled, fermented cured, and smoked ingredients that all end up on your plate. The entire menu is designed to share, so don't go solo and randomly rock up, even if the name might suggest it. Booze has a local focus – all Australian wines and local craft beers. The 65$ a head set menu is a good option if you want to sample all the things." - For the People

"Nomad’s delicious food celebrates regional New South Wales and Australian produce sourced seasonally from farmers and local providors. Breads are baked in-house, and charcuterie and cheeses are made by the team. The à la carte menu spans small plates and share-friendly dishes from the wood-fired grill, oven, and garden. Perhaps zucchini flower with pecorino cheese and truffle honey will tempt? Barbecued spatchcock with harissa, and spiced cauliflower captures the Mediterranean spirit of the kitchen." - Sophie Davies

Amazing food; lovely service. Great wine list. The Dry-Aged Pork and the Empenada were standouts. The Iceberg side was a touch disappointing in the company of the other incredible dishes but that’s just to my tastes. We ordered too much to fit in any dessert but I’ll be back purely to try the Comte & Apple tart

Such a fantastic experience! From the food to the service, everything was perfect!! Our server Liam? I’m not sure what his name was but he had amazing service. As soon as our waters were empty and before I even noticed it was empty, he filled it up swiftly. Also while remembering who wanted tap and who wanted sparkling. And this was also while maintaining the same service to several other customers. I was truely impressed with his level of professionalism and attention towards customers. Other than that the food was absolutely amazing, extremely tender meat that’s well seasoned and cooked to perfection! Also the warehouse vibe of the restaurant is super vibey while still feeling fancy. Truely impressed with the high quality of everything! 10/10!

Nomad is a fantastic spot with a great vibe and delicious food. We shared the Mezze lunch platter which was an excellent blend of flavours and textures. It’s mostly vegetarian but has two chicken skewers, but all freshly made, beautifully presented and the perfect mix of dishes. Good value as you get to try so many of the dishes. Staff were super friendly and there was a happy hum in the restaurant. Sitting at the kitchen bar was fun for us to see the great systems and just how fresh everything was.

Visited with my family at 6pm on Wednesday. The quality of the food here was excellent, but unfortunately, the overall experience ended up being a little disappointing. We ordered the beef and lamb as our mains. The flatbread and hummus we had as starters were served at a good pace, but the two mains and vegetables took quite a long time to arrive. As we had another appointment afterwards, we asked a woman who seemed to be the floor manager to check on our order. She told us it would take another 45 minutes to cook. If that was the case, we would have appreciated being informed when we first placed the order. Surprisingly, the mains arrived less than five minutes after that conversation, but the beef was slightly cold — it seemed like it had been sitting out for a while after being cooked. This visit was a special occasion for me, as I was meeting my family after a long time, and I had been looking forward to dining at this restaurant for months. That’s why this experience was quite disappointing. Most of the staff were kind and friendly, and the quality of the food was truly high, so I sincerely hope the timing of the food service will improve in the future

As someone who usually prefers Asian food, I rarely find Western food truly exciting—but NOMAD Sydney completely changed that for me. From the very first dish to the last, I kept saying, “This is so good!” Every single thing we ordered tasted amazing. The only dish I thought was just okay was the eggplant (茄子) — pretty normal — but everything else was absolutely perfect. Great flavours, beautiful presentation, and high-quality ingredients. The staff were super friendly and welcoming. The only downside was that the food took a bit too long to come out. But honestly, the overall experience made up for it. If 5 stars is the highest rating, then I’d happily give 5 stars! I loved it so much that the very next day, I recommended NOMAD to my company team, and 3–4 of them went to try it for themselves. Amazing food, great atmosphere, fair price — highly recommend. Will definitely be back!

LOVE LOVE LOVE! We had the set menu and wow!! The food was outstanding. Generous servings for $60! Each element flavourful on its own but even better together—fresh, spiced, and seriously delicious. Hands down one of the best places I’ve eaten out. Cocktails were delicious, atmosphere was lively. The lovely lady who served us was upbeat and easy going. Will recommend to everyone and will certainly be back. Thankyou for a wonderful time!

One of the best restaurants in Sydney. The food is astonishing and the service is even better. Cannot wait to return -- and I only just left! Highly recommend the zucchini flower, wagyu tongue, and radish and cucumber salad. Can't leave without trying the halva pistachio ice cream sandwich!

First time in Nomad Sydney, the ambience here was great. Love the open kitchen, the team was inviting and helpful suggesting food for 1. Reminder: bring one more person! The Wagyu tongue was great!
