Ojai Coffee Roasters

My first time here at Ojai Coffee Roasters and I must say that I love this place. I ordered a vanilla flat white and it’s definitely satisfying. Plus the owner Ms. Stacy started a small chat with us about her coffee shop and I can feel that she truly love her shop! Ms. Stacy was such a sweet lady and I will never forget your positive energy!

Since there aren’t many coffee shops around and this one came highly recommended, I decided to give it a try. Honestly, the coffee was really disappointing—definitely not good at all. I wouldn’t recommend it.

This cafe is one of few opened early. It was so nice to grab hot good coffee in early morning chilly day. It was great stop before long hiking. We had ham and cheese croissants with coffee, it was crispy warm as they served. Staff were friendly. I love entrance outside look.

The coffee is good, but after ordering an iced caramel latte and iced caramel macchiato, I noticed they looked exactly the same so I asked the cashier which one is which. The cashier explained how the two are basically the same thing. If that is the case, it doesn’t make sense why they charged more for the latte than the macchiato.

A friend of ours had visited Ojai Coffee Roasters and raved about the coffee. I ordered a sample box to try a variety of different blends. Each one was amazing! Neighborhood coffee shop with lots of breakfast and lunch options. Fresh pastries, coffee drinks, smoothies, sandwiches, and more. They also sell their roasted coffee beans (many varieties). I ordered an acai bowl and my husband, a fresh bearpaw. (He had a choice of a fresh or day old). Everything we had was excellent. I really enjoyed the acai bowl, which was plenty to eat. Berries and granola on the top and bottom of the bowl with acai puree sandwiched in between. We both had a 16 oz cappuccino. Excellent coffee, and the foam was thick and had staying power through to the last sip. I opted for my coffee in a porcelain mug, which makes it more special. For whatever reason, hubby always gets a paper cup. Many people had their laptops and were working/surfing with their breakfast. Local art was hanging on the walls for sale. If you are looking for a cute local eatery/coffee joint, this is the place. Highly recommend.

Great drinks, great food. It's a nice spot to hang out and relax. The staff are friendly and nice.

Would like to tell you how the coffee is but never got to order. Stood in line for 10 mins with two kids in front of me trying to place a large order for several other people while simultaneously having no idea what any of them wanted. Gave up and left with no acknowledgement I was even there. Also appears to be the only place in Ojai that isn't dog friendly and based on signs they are aggressively dog UN-friendly if that matters to you. Give Coffee Connection a try.

Picked up a nice little latte after a day in Ojai. Service was quick, latte was hot, no problems here! There is seating as well as food/pastry options for those wanting a little more than coffee.

Coffee tasted watered down and burnt. I'm not sure how that's even possible. The customer service was a zero I've never felt so unwelcomed at a coffee shop. Never again. I will be choosing different for my next visit to ojai, I'd advise you all to do the same.

Owner has been deleting all bad google reviews. First off restaurant was freezing cold inside . Second i ordered my coffee and did not get the extras i requested, I asked the employee if they could at least add the missing ingredients and they refused and asked me to leave . Very unfair, Uncomfortable and unpleasing. Would not recommend.

Don't let positive reviews fool you, and look up the kind of nonsense this establishment tolerates before even considering visiting. The coffee tastes instant at best and you will be harassed by staff and customers alike for simply sitting down before ordering.

Perhaps training your staff with diplomatic customer service & a kinder demeanor could assist/redirect the arrogance.

Disgusting place & service, super rude to customers and did not feel safe there. They should nit be operating a business, the coffee tasted like dirt, food the same

Cute coffee place and seems like there are a lot of patrons that go here. We ended up with the lavender latte because we thought Ojai was known for lavender. It kinda tasted really sharp and syrupy. I'm unsure if they extracted the syrup from real lavender or if it was fake. It just didn't taste as good as I thought it would be. The coffee itself tasted decent, but the drink was not as good as I was expecting.

Ysa and anna were both so amazing!!! We came in and were so excited that they were still open. We got the creme brule and the tirimisu and both were really good! The creme brule was really good! We got iced matcha lattes and they were really good!!! They have a lot of options for syrup flavors to add on and a lot of different coffees as well as other options for non coffee drinkers like myself! Very cute indoor and outdoor seating area! Thank you to Anna and Ysa for such an incredible experience!!!! Will for sure be back thanks to these ladies and the yummy food!!!

Stopped by on a Friday afternoon with my partner while visiting Ojai. It was very busy, and there was a line to order. The coffee shop is small but lovely. We got lucky and found a table. Great place to chat with friends or work/study if you don't mind the chatter. There is art along the walls for sale too. The cashier was extremely kind, friendly, and helpful. We ordered the Berry smoothie, Lox and Bagel Platter, and Broccoli Cheddar Quiche. We absolutely loved Lox and Bagel platter. It was a bit messy to make ourselves and eat but it was great to choose how much of everything we wanted on our bagel. Tasted delicious!! The smoothie tasted alright - pretty standard. We were very excited for the quiche since we are both big fans of broccoli cheddar but unfortunately we didn't love the taste. Overall, we had a good experience and enjoyed most of our food. I would recommend this place and visit again if I'm in town again. Parking: Plenty of free street parking nearby

I would not recommend. Very disappointed with the service. The staff were rude and unwelcoming, and the interaction felt rushed and disrespectful. When I paid, my change was thrown on the counter instead of being handed to me, which was extremely unprofessional. Customer service matters, and this experience fell far below what I would expect from a coffee shop.

I was really hoping for better out of a coffee roaster. Ordered an espresso and the baristas were not knowledgable in the least about the beans they were pulling. The shot was super watery and bitter and it seemed like they just left it running for way too long. I would look elsewhere for better coffee in Ojai!

A sorry excuse of a business, I would not recommend. The service was super passive and off putting. Food was bland and underwhelming along with the drinks. The cherry on top was the selective service they had based on how you look. May they shut down promptly. Save your time and money

if I could give negative stars I would.......if you want to feel unsafe and not welcome then this is the place for you.

Tried their avocado toast yesterday; delicious! I appreciated the type of bread they use as well as the toppings. FYI, my picture only shows 2 of the 3 slices that they serve... not sure how that 3rd slice disappeared before I took my picture!

Fantastic experience. Cute atmosphere, plenty of seating, myriad options, friendly cashier, great cold brew (not too strong or too weak - it is PERFECT). I don't know what more you could ask for in a coffee shop!

Great local coffee business, but did you know that have the most incredible breakfast/ lunch menu. I just had the turkey sandwich that was so good. Everything was fresh and so delish! Check it out, keep it local!

Great spot located in the middle of town and walking distance to all the shops. They roast so many different types of organic coffee (the selection is amazing!) and have organic matcha. We enjoyed not only their drinks but were pleasantly surprised by how delicious and filling their food was too! We loved the veggie quiche, Greek salad, and veggie sandwich the most! They mostly have indoor seating available with two tables located outside by the sidewalk. The staff is extremely accommodating, friendly, and helpful! Thank you Anna for the great service and thank you Stacy for all the right recommendations! The ambiance is like a coffeehouse/cafe, perfect place to grab a delicious and quick bite while in Ojai! We will definitely be back!

Funny thing is when I looked them up on yelp and looked at her photos. It looked like they sold organic coffee, which is why I was really looking forward to have. When I got there to my surprise, I really didn't see anything organic beans wise or what they're selling for coffee wasn't clearly met so the reason why I'm giving it three stars is because I came I saw I left. The reason why I left is upon us walking in and they were semi busy not a single employee looked up and greeted at us. Now I don't know about you but even at Starbucks they say hello no matter how busy they are. Pete coffee always greet you with a smile regardless how slim they are. Place smell good and they were busy so it was a testament to their coffee shop and I'm being generous for three stars versus two. It's the holidays after all No management you were one of the few freshly ground coffee houses in Ojai I think your staff can be a little friendlier

Ambiance is good with a good amount of seating options but service is a bit slow. I was there at 9 am on a Sunday, but the line was long and didn't move very fast.

It's been more than 5 years since I drank their coffee but never had a chance to post a review about Ojai Coffee Roasters. Today, we had the Sumatra Coffee and my salivary glands really went to full excretions, hahahahha! Ojai Roasters never fail to amaze me with whatever they roast for the day; be it Colombian, Sumatran or African, their coffee are really the best! They also bake fresh treats which goes well with any of the roasted coffee of the day. All of their coffee are sourced from the best and purest coffee farmers everywhere and they taste like freshly roasted beans. I always try to smell the aroma, snort (exaggerated) the smoke before I slowly and calmly gargle it to allow my taste bud and salivary glands to immerse myself to maximum enjoyment. So, when you're in the Ojai area, drop by Ojai Coffee Roasters and have a taste of Sumatra, Colombia, Africa or wherever they source them. Oh, let me get back to my cup!

Overall rating seems underrated. Coffee is delicious. In store as well as brewed at home. Sipping on their Topa Topa House Blend right now. Staff is proficient and very friendly (seems like a theme in all of Ojai). Stacey, Steve and Jane here . Thanks for taking your time with us. Knowing and observing how much you as the owner cares and is involved makes a visit extra special and memorable. We certainly will be back on our next visit to Ojai.

the food is dry and the customer service is really horrible.I've been to better coffee shops this coffee shop is a 0/10 I would advise you not to waste you time at Ojai coffee roaster.

I was really disappointed with the owner's attitude during my recent visit. Shortly after ordering an iced latte, I noticed that the rim of the glass was chipped. The chip was smooth--not sharp--but still unacceptable for serving drinks. I immediately informed a female staff member, who was very apologetic and promptly replaced the glass. I appreciated her quick and respectful response. However, when the owner came over later and the staff explained what had happened, she showed absolutely no reaction. She didn't look for me to offer an apology or even acknowledge the situation. So I approached her myself and said, "Are you the owner? The glass I was served was chipped." She then raised her voice and said, "Did you cut your mouth? Do you need to go to the hospital?" in a rather defensive and inappropriate tone. My husband told me to let it go, but honestly, I was shocked by the lack of accountability and basic hospitality. This is supposed to be a well-regarded coffee shop known for quality and service, so it's unfortunate that such a careless and unprofessional attitude came from the very person in charge. After stayed in Ojai for a few days, there are so many other coffee shops are so much better. This place, customer treatment leaves a bad taste too.

I ride my motorcycle all over the place, different near and far cities, in my free time. Ojai Coffee Roasters has the best Mocha I have found. It's perfect and the vibe here is unbeatable. Great staff. A+ across the board. Even the 3 different OCR shirts I've bought are super comfortable.

I ordered a 16oz latte and a coffee cake. The last time I was in Ojai we stopped here for a latte and I had to take a picture because it was so good. That was 10 years ago and since then I have compared all lattes to the one I had so long ago. This visit was proof that the latte here is still number 1! Thanks to Stacey for her hospitality and consistent quality.

Friendly local coffee shop serving up a terrific cappuccino. They also a selection of pastries, sandwiches and salads. We tried the cinnamon roll which was good. Not too many coffee options, so glad it's here.

Enjoyable shop that usually has a decent crowd. Service is attentive and helpful. It's a great shop, but their roast could be a bit better in my opinion. Best coffee in the close area though for sure!

Thank you OCR for providing a buy one get one offer just for checking in for the first time! My family was visiting Ojai and we stopped in to bring some fresh ground coffee to take home. Ojai Roasters looked welcoming from the outside and was also charming on the inside with some seating. Your friendly staff was happy to grind the whole beans. Your Topa Topa house blend was so pure in taste. Our house thoroughly enjoyed it. We used the buy one get one coffee which was great for an afternoon pick me up!

Living in Santa Barbara almost all my life I was nervous to move to Ojai because of my local coffee shop. But I can truly say this has been our go-to and our new weekend routine :) the staff are just as amazing as the coffee. Love to keep it local *update* After looking at the photos I realized my most recent trip the owner helped me. They had crumb cake which is my grandmas favorite, she's has been passed away for 8 years now, and little things like this make me smile. The owner said it's the best crumb cake and got a piece to take home. She told me I hope your grandma enjoys it! I said oh she will :) it brought me a teary smile but it really made my day.

I'm not a coffee drinker but often times coffee shops are good for a quick bite and I usually get a tea or other non-coffee drink. I was feeling a little peckish so I picked the ham and cheese croissant and an iced green tea. The ham and cheese croissant had big chunks of ham in there but there were some parts that weren't toasted but burnt, which meant I picked some of the pastry was removed as collateral damage. My iced green tea was made fresh which was nice but the combination of very hot tea + some ice = a lukewarmish tea. I would have asked for more ice but the line started getting very long and it became a diminishing return kind of thing.

This was the best cafe in the area from the ones we tried. The coffee was good The food was delicious - we had the broccoli and cheddar quiche and the ham and cheese croissant. The croissant was fluffy and good. It had the right ratio of ham and cheese. I only wish they had some of the chocolate or almond croissants left. We were there at 9am so not sure if they had already run out or they just don't make them every day. My sparkling probiotic drink was surprisingly good as well and was a local brand

Such a cute coffee in the most adorable town I've visited so far I ordered the vanilla latte with coconut milk and it was made perfectly. Service was great and vibe cozy. So glad I made a quick stop to grab my afternoon coffee from this spot.

A nice local coffee shop with a busy vibe in the mornings. Good location, multiple pastries with an on-site owner directing traffic inside the shop. Some nice conversations with locals and visitors alike - and a great location in Ojai. Neither Kevin or Reese were here ... but I did meet a local vet (retired) and a fantastic artist while here. Nice town. Nice big TREES !!! Good start to the day each morning ~

Must do for ojai locals and visitors! Great variety of coffee and drinks. They also have a variety of food options. Everything is reasonably priced. Excellent and kind staff and the owner Stacey is so friendly and makes you feel welcome. Lots of seating and they have a customer restroom.

It was my first time ever visiting Ojai, CA so admist a day of strolling and shopping, we came across this coffee joint. When checking in through the YELP APP, I noticed a 50% off deal for any ONE drink. That's such a generous offering. We ordered their homemade chai and lavender iced latte. Both were quite delicious and tasty. I wish the chai was slightly stronger in flavor because it was rather light even when stirring the drink with the chai residue off the bottom cup. Friendly staff and cute space.

The coffee shop is just darling, and it smells INCREDIBLE. The line can be long, but service is fairly quick, and the line moves. I do wish there was more seating inside, but real estate is limited and it's expensive, so I get it. The coffee and tea are good. We did not try the food items because we had just eaten and couldn't stand the thought of eating anything more, so I can't comment on those.

Coffee was yummy ! Got the ice Carmel latte with oat milk. The owner was the sweetest lady ! The place itself was so cozy and comfy !
