The Cellar

"We love Spanish food so much, but we don't find many Spanish restaurant reviews in Doha. Last Friday night, we got invited to The Cellar, a Spanish restaurant at the Hyatt Regency Oryx Hotel. They had a Spanish Fiesta promotion: a 5-course set menu, including one enhanced beverage, for only 149 QR. When we arrived, they served us Sangria as a welcome drink. There was a choice of red, rosé, and white Sangria. I will summarize each dish shortly: 1st Tapas: Traditional Galician-style Octopus - Potatoes salad with paprika, olive oil, and quail eggs. The fresh octopus was well cooked ,soft and a great match with the creamy potatoes salad. 2nd: Truffle and Mushroom Croquettes with béchamel sauce. Crispy outside, creamy inside croquttes —they melted in our mouths. The béchamel was very good; however, I expected a little more aroma of the truffle. 3rd: Slow-cooked Beef Cheek with potatoes purée. Melt-in-your-mouth beef cheek was a hit and went well with the potatoes purée. 4th: Seared Scallops with smooth velouté sauce and crispy cured beef. The freshly cooked scallops were cooked perfectly in the creamy sauce. 5th: Churros with chocolate dip. The crispy churros with cinnamon sugar were great on their own; however, for me, it was too sweet when I dipped it in the chocolate dip (I am not a sweet person). Overall, the food was very good, freshly made. We were so full and impressed with their food quality, freshness, quantity, as well as the service and the ambience, which was fantastic. We will definitely go back soon."

Maybe it was the holiday rush or the volume of patrons during NYE. The raviolli arrived cold and was too thick. The waitstaff asked for allergies, but did not understand that we had only shrimp allergies, and not all seafoods. Kept insisting to get tenderlion instead. Overall it left us underwhelmed with the experience.

The food makes you feel at home, and the service makes you feel like family. Of all the places I’ve had the pleasure of dining in Qatar, this one stands out without a doubt for offering the warmest, most heartfelt service and a true passion for cuisine. My deepest admiration goes to Claudia and Yin, whose exceptional service and genuine care always make you feel truly special and ensure an unforgettable experience every time. And to Chef Adriá, for his sincere interest in the satisfaction of every guest and his dedication to excellence. Highly recommended to anyone seeking a truly unique and memorable dining experience here in Qatar.

Wow what a great place,really loved it.Welcoming friendly staff,great food,best atmosphere.I ordered Tapas thinking maybe not enough but food was delicious and a lot.Ice cold beer is served,good selection of Spanish wine.Special thanks goes to Miss Claudia,very helpful and patient when ordering food and drinks. ordering

It's was great experience to have a couple of drinks here. Vibe is classy, serene and peaceful. Loved this place.

Really nice authentic Spanish food. Paella was cooked just right! My waitress Yin was great.

Such a lovely elegant place to have some real fine food. The service is friendly and attentive. Our young South African server knows the menu and confidently suggested various veg options. Very nice. The food is well presented and tasty. Our veg paella was on the mark. The Tomato soup was good but could have been a little less tart making it even better! All in all a great spot to have pleasant meal in lovely setting.
