"Current Space is run for artists, by artists. It's more than a gallery; it offers artists' studios, hosts concerts and facilitates conversations in the local community. Performers, musicians, painters, designers, activists and thinkers all come here to collaborate and create (Future Islands has been known to play shows in the basement on occasion). Stop by the space and chat with the curator, artist or staff member on site--it's sure to lead somewhere interesting." - Exit10
An artist-run gallery and garden bar with adventurous shows, outdoor concerts, and late-summer nights. Praised by local arts writers; the 2025 schedule confirms it as a downtown creative anchor.
This place is interesting. It has strong drinks that are at least $3 less than usual
Prices, and has a nice atmosphere. I wish it was more musically or dance oriented, but eh, it’s more experimental.

The outside courtyard space is great! The exhibits change pretty frequently so it's always different

I like the idea of the artists ownership of a space such as this one with a gallery and a garden with the bar in the back. I liked a lot some of the activities taking place in the garden such as the Minds on Fire last concert and the excerpts of short movies/ documentaries collected by a couple in Baltimore. The reason I only gave three stars is because the gallery looks deserted/ a poor management and overall concept of that space. Who ever is in charge of this part needs to spend much more time on the job.

Current Space has been exhibiting and supporting local and nationally recognized artists now for close to twenty years. It’s a cornerstone for the Baltimore art community. I can’t imagine this city without it 🤙🏼
