I, myself, am not a big fan of either the book or movie, but my two daughters are. So it was that I took them on the tour. You can't just visit the house itself; you are required to book the whole tour package online. This was an arrangement with the neighborhood where the house is located, which makes sense. You start the tour at a downtown hotel, and on your way to the house you visit several locations around Tulsa where scenes in the movie were shot, as well as related films like Rumble Fish. Most important of these is the park a few blocks from the house where several scenes were shot, such as when Johnny kills another kid. You also get the corresponding video clips on the bus when you pass the locations. Then you get to the house itself and are invited to explore on your own. The house is furnished with a number of period pieces, although not from the film. There are a few items on display that were used in the movie, for example, a leather jacket, a plaid skirt worn by Diane Lane, and RalphMacchio's shoes. After you have your tour of the house itself you are nudged toward the inevitable gift shop. Over all they have done a decent job getting the museum going considering the dilapidated condition the house was in, but they still have room for improvement.
