We booked this hotel as our son was getting married at the register office next door . We arrived the day befire. Check in was good, staff polite and professional. I had trouble turning off the water after I'd taken a bath and a kind gentleman on staff helped me. The day after, breakfast was good, lots of choice for continental. We had to get ready for the wedding and we spoke to the same helpful gentleman staffer who said that our room would be serviced and anything we needed would be replenished. We got back to our room early evening and the room was the same as we'd left it, so we raised it with reception who did apologise and said housekeeping had left but we would have more water, tea, etc in the room. When we got back, there was two bottles of water, the bed made, but my water glass not changed and there was no caffeinated coffee but lots of packets of biscuits. We were given an upgrade to a hot breakfast however the lady greeter who had been on duty the day before had trouble locating us on the list, asking us several times for our surname and room number. On check out we were asked if everything was OK, and reluctantly we had to say no. Overall, nice spacious room, comfy bed and as we were at the back, it was quiet. But would not stay again due to basic errors. And we're still awaiting the £50 pre authorisation they took. Communication not terribly great, I rang to speak to someone about this on Monday and still waiting for a call back. Poor communication and very poor housekeeping.
