Rock Canyon Park is a favorite among Provo locals for its sweeping views of the Wasatch Mountains and its direct access to hiking and climbing trails. With sprawling open fields perfect for group activities, plus a unique bowl-shaped amphitheater area, it’s a lively gathering place for everything from picnics to kite-flying. The park also serves as a gateway to the Rock Canyon trailhead, celebrated by The New York Times and Utah’s official travel site for its beauty and accessibility. Families, fitness enthusiasts, and outdoor adventurers all find something to love here.

So impressed by this park! It has an awesome variety of play equipment so there’s something for every age of kid, an accessibility zip line chair (designed for ages 5-12), and likely something novel your kid hasn’t seen at other parks. Gorgeous scenery looking up into rock canyon. Big fields, plenty of pavilion tables, and even nice bathrooms!

Not a lot of parking by the play structure. I love how easy it is to keep track of your kids. The accessibility structures are a blast! There are plenty of trees that provide shade. We went in the evening and the accessibility structures were almost completely shaded.

Haven't been to this park in years and it changed so much! It's so much better and newer of course. The bathroom is clean. The playgrounds are amazing and kid friendly. You get the mountains so close to you and so many trails to walk on. Also the bowl where you can roll down. Amazing park!! Will be coming here more often!

Very nice park. Significant wind off the mountains cooled us. Biking, dogs and walking on the path. Hammocks in the trees. Kite-flying. Views of Utah Lake.

Super nice park! My kids have running class over this place. Super. And is very good for tubing. Kids love this place ! Is very large place. A lot thing to do. Best place for tubing in Provo. Danger in same areas but super cool.

BEAUTIFUL PARK!!! Incredible view during sunset. Lots of people bring a hammock and tie them to the surrounding trees. Fun spot for a picnic/date!

We started playing Sandy Pickle in the park on Monday nights before realizing that the city has planned Monday movies in the same park. The park is so HUGE that we still had plenty of space, even sharing the field with a giant screen and a large audience. Maybe the best park in America!

Yelp
We brought our 2 y/o. She loved the playground and walking trail. The walking path did have an overflow of water from the mountain but we made do

Yelp
Great spot to watch an outdoor movie with friends! The very top of the park has a great pavilion, fun trees to climb, and jungle gym where you can be cool and bully (some) kids into giving you their lunch money. 10/10 would go again Hi Keith :)

Yelp
Rock Canyon Park never fails to provide great views, comfy trees to swing from, and delightful memories. Grateful for a close by, clean place to spend socially distanced time!

Yelp
Beautifully maintained with amazing views off of just a short hike through manicured paths!! I'm so glad I stopped here because it turned into so much more than a quick stroll thru the park. My only regret is that I was wearing slides & the footing was a little shaky on my way back down the "trails" I was "following". Well I'm off to try & find the best gluttonous thing I can while here!

Yelp
Awesome place! Great hike and great views. You'll have to cross the creek a time or 2 via rocks. The bridges are cool too.
