The Noble Savage

The Noble Savage and I have a long history together. When I worked downtown in my younger days, my coworkers and I would file out of the Chase building and right into the “Chef” era Savage for happy hour and some little savages, their bite sized Natchitoches Meat pies dipped in remoulade and drink beer out of dollar off clay pint glasses with our nicknames on them. I love this place. It’s undergone management changes over the years, some for the good some for the bad but right now it seems they’ve hit their stride. It’s clean, well lit, there’s live music every night. A an indoor/outdoor patio quartered off from the sidewalk. The space is more open, more refined. It’s no longer the grungy dive bar but a place locals actually GO to to impress a date, enjoy food and cocktails and eat some amazing food. Their chef offers rotating specials, as well as standard appetizers like the old meat-pies I love so much, and flatbreads, burgers, wings, steaks and what I’ve heard is a hit but have never had an appetite big enough to tackle alone, the tomahawk pork chop. Today I had the mahi-mahi tacos. These fresh flaky fish tacos on flour tortillas lay on top of a bed of house made Coleslaw and topped with mango salsa that added a sweet heat contrast to the well seasoned fish. I also got the strawberry bread pudding. It’s the second time I’ve had it this week. They’ll rotate the fruit out but the plan to keep the bread pudding a staple. Whether you’re going for lunch (parking is street parking but it’s only $0.90 an hour on the weekdays) or dinner (parking is free and the music is too) Noble Savage is back and better than ever. @AmiEatsEverything

We’re driving from New York to Houston and stumbled upon The Noble Savage for some authentic Louisiana gumbo and live music — and wow, what a find! 🎶🍲 The food was absolutely amazing, the atmosphere was full of energy, and the band made the night even better. First time in Louisiana, and this place made it unforgettable. Highly recommended! 👏🔥

We recently stopped in at The Noble Savage and decided to go all-in on dessert — and wow, what an incredible decision that turned out to be! We shared every dessert on the menu, and each one was absolutely amazing in its own right. The cinnamon roll bread pudding was rich, warm, and gooey, with just the right touch of spice and sweetness — pure comfort food elevated to the next level. The beignets were pillowy soft and perfectly dusted with powdered sugar, transporting us straight to New Orleans with each bite. Then came the fried cheesecake, which was decadent, creamy, and wrapped in a crispy shell that made it totally addictive. And finally, the crème brûlée was a classic done right — silky smooth custard with that perfect crackly sugar top. Sharing them all was the best way to go — every spoonful brought a new favorite. If you’ve got a sweet tooth, or even just a passing interest in dessert, do not skip this place. The Noble Savage absolutely nailed it.

Nice spot with a good atmosphere. Food was very poor. Chicken sandwich you maybe got 2.5oz of chicken. About half the size of the bun. Also the grill marks just tasted like burnt chicken with 0 flavor. Only thing that saved it was the sauce on the bun. Charged me $6 for another 2.5oz chicken. Another person in our group ordered the Asian flatbread and they didn’t have Philly steak. So they subbed chicken for the same price. Included NONE of the veggies that were supposed to be included. Overall the serving staff was great, very poor kitchen and food.

Server was absolutely terrible never once offered refills or checked on table. Took over 30 mins to return to take orders after delivering drinks. Had to literally go to the bar to get more water and tea. Food was wonderful, served hot, though in waves. Band was way too loud, no hope of having a conversation 😒 will not return. Arrived at 715pm and didn't get final plate until almost 930pm.

Service was amazing. atmosphere outstanding... The drinks and food made perfectly... All around great experience.... Live Band .. Also get to write your name/ anything on the walls..All around fun time.

This was my first visit. The drinks were good. Our server was nice, friendly, and attentive. Everything came out in a timely manner.

The atmosphere is the perfect blend of laid-back and lively, with a chill, eclectic vibe that invites you to settle in and stay a while. The menu, while straightforward, is crafted with care. I opted for the chicken sandwich, and let me tell you, it was a revelation. Crispy, juicy, and perfectly seasoned, it was a masterpiece of a sandwich that delivered incredible flavor without being overly complicated. The value for the price is simply unbeatable, a rare gem in today's dining scene. Noble Savage is more than just a restaurant; it's a Shreveport institution that delivers on every front. Whether you're looking for a casual dinner, a great spot to grab a drink, or just a place with good energy and even better food, this is your spot. A must-visit for anyone in the area.

Love the ambiance, style, and service. The food, however, has proven overpriced and underwhelming. Eat elsewhere and go for drinks.

Parking is limited to the street and I had to park down and around the corner. Short walk from the restaurant. 11:36 party of 1. I chose to sit at the bar. But table seating was available. After taking a couple minutes to decide. I chose the shrimp poboy. It was delivered at 12:05, with the tails on. Before I could eat, I had to pull them off. It was fantastic. So I guess I'll be okay. By 12:20 I was cashing out lunch for one $20. They issued a 20% discount for my military id.

It's been awhile but the food wasn't good to me, They had excellent customer service, The ambiance was odd...But since then it had closed and reopened again...Everything could be totally different now I hope...

When in Shreveport on a Monday, your dining options are...limited (unless you fancy a casino dinner, which we did not). So, we ended up here--the only place open that wasn't serving up blackjack with a side of fries. First up: water. Now, if you've never had Louisiana tap water, let me tell you--it tastes like someone steeped a bag of potting soil in it for 12 hours. I was about to blame this restaurant until a little Google dive informed me that most of Louisiana water just tastes like this due to geosmin and MIB (algae bloom byproducts, apparently). Fun fact that nobody asked for, but here we are. Anyway, we pivoted HARD to cocktails. I ordered a Belvedere martini, which was well-made by Dustin but oddly expensive considering this wasn't exactly a swanky downtown hotspot. For dinner: Hubbs went for shrimp fettuccine, and while it was fine, it didn't exactly make us want to write home about it. I, on the other hand, ordered Natchitoches meat pies, thinking they'd be the real deal imported from the famous place there. Oh, how naive I was. Instead, they were sad little impostors, baked instead of fried, and just...meh. Final bill: almost $100 for four drinks and two average entrées. If we're dropping that kinda cash, I'd prefer a meal that didn't require an emergency cocktail switch just to recover from the water.

First off, the ambiance is especially nice! The waitress was very attentive & knowledgeable of their menu. And the food that I ordered was so delicious!!!! I got to meet the chef & expressed how much I enjoyed my order!

Dirty, dirty, dirty restaurant. So disappointed because I had heard good things. Had a steak that was as tough as shoe leather. The bathroom almost made me throw up. Service was terrible. Won't be going back.

Love the vibes! Wish we could have stayed for more drinks, but we had to be somewhere else. Food was ok, water not so.., the service we received from the time we walked in until leaving, was exceptional!

Didn't have the best experience here but in their defense they had an event going on which I'm sure created chaos for them, so I want to come back to leave a more realistic review maybe next time. But my experience was this: We Walk in and there's ALOT going on, we're not sure if it's an open event but then the owner pops out of no where and says the restaurant is still open, so we sit at the bar and a young bartender takes my drink order but never took my husbands drink order (he was still seeing what they have when she first asked but she never asked him again even after delivering my drink) another bartender came to take our drink order but we felt weird having another bartender take care of us when one already took half our order, we wait for awhile and decide she's not going to notice us again so we go back to the bartender that offered and apologized for our confusion. He took our order and thought we were with the event and apologized and gave us menus after I asked for them. We order some Brussel sprouts which I thought were just okay (just my honest opinion, don't mean to be rude) HOWEVER I really wanted to try the real stuff on the menu (the main course) because I bet that's where it gets good! My husband eventually gets a second round from the 1st bartender and she hands him a slimy beer bottle, she knew it too because she covered it in napkins and handed it to my husband and when a napkin fell off he touched the bottle and was immediately done with the place before we could order an entree. So we unfortunately left due to the overwhelming crowd from the event and lack of service from our bartenders (who we're definitely working hard for the event just not the actual customers, or at least us customers that have trouble speaking up and demanding service ) . Next time we'll be checking their FB to make sure no event is going on if we do try again!

After a day of record shopping in Shreveport I decided to fire up Yelp to look for a spot where I could chill, eat, and have a few beers. I stumbled upon The Noble Savage and even lucked out by finding parking right in the street in front of it. Free parking on the weekdays after 5:00PM too so you really have no excuse to not come in after a long day of work or hanging out at the casinos down the street. Upon walking in I noticed the large stage with a band starting to warm up. I also noticed there were two sections - one area with tall bartops and pool tables and the other side with booths and open seating/bar area. There is definitely plenty of seating for a large group on either side so take your pick. I chose to sit on the bar side by the open booths area and received a menu from the bartender before I could get settled in to seat. Service here is spot on. I was taken care of before my beer glass was empty. The bartender was so sweet and made recommendations to me on local beers that they had on tap and highly suggested a few items on the menu to eat. I opted for a red local ale and paired it with the fish and chips. Food was amazing! Fish and chips was super flavorful which does not surprise me as this IS Shreveport so they definitely know how to do seafood right. Beers were excellent too and even though I cannot remember the name of the beer I was having it doesn't matter. I suggest asking the bartender what she suggests as the beers she recommended were fantastic. She even asked me what beers I prefer and met me halfway with the beers she had on tap. I was sad I never got to hear the band as I could tell, from their warmups and mic check, that they were going to be excellent. When I finally rolled out I noticed more people coming in and settling in to watch the. band.

Don't come here hungry. Portions are very small. Great place if you're trying to lose weight. The food is overpriced, but the atmosphere is great. I don't come for the food. I come for the music.

Great venue, food, service, and vibe. Went on a Saturday and band was great too! Highly recommend and will definitely be back. Server accidentally forgot that we ordered an appetiser, but otherwise was most pleasant, courteous, friendly, and helpful. When discovered, was most apologetic. Again, no hate towards anyone, still recommending the venue.

We stay in Shreveport for business downtown quite often recently and have been to the Noble Savage several times for dinner. Everything has always been tasty and cocktails are also very good! Sometimes we order the charcuterie board and that's plenty with a few drinks while you are enjoying the music! A fun casual place with good food and we have always had very pleasant servers as well !

I don't usually post bad reviews of a restaurant. Drinks were wonderful.....bartender was super nice....awesome atmosphere! We ordered Fish and Chips and Chicken fried Steak. Fish and chips....barely any fish and the batter was excessive and only on the top of the fish. Fries were great. Chicken fried Steak....paste for so called gravy. Horrible flour taste. Everything needed salt. We will go back but no to eat i am sad to say!

OH MY GOSH!! this place. delicious. I went in not really knowing what to expect... I thought it was "just a bar" when I got invited to brunch.. I was SHOCKED! the brunch was so good! Our table had Shine's Savage Bacon, Blueberry Lemon French Toast, beignets, and the Smoked Salmon Benedict. andddd of course some Mimosas. SO. FREAKING. GOOD. I will be back. The servers were delightful. The bartender was amazing. They were also hosting a shower there, and it looked so pretty!! Such great use of the space and a wonderful atmosphere for a quiet, upscale yet super fun party! I caught myself playing the games at my own table!

Great Place !! Amazing food, great prices, and service. We tried one of all the Taco's on menu. They were all great -really good. But The SHRIMP WAS AMAZING !!'

The food was edible.. that's the best I can say about the food. We ordered & picked it up, so hopefully that has something to do with it. I'd def consider trying again, but will wait until the menu is updated with summer ingredients

I thought the waitress could have been more diligent and attentive. Very cool place, great looking bar, live music appeared to be setting up. I had a muffuletta, great stuff inside, bun was huge, sandwich is huge overall. Cool wine glasses. Easy street parking, staff told me it was free after 5 ‍

Brussels were great and smash burger was good. Sweet potato fries good. Would have been nice to see live music as they have a big stage.

The service was horrible, orders were messed up and not put in for a party of three. Orders not put in with original request, one only after 2/3 of parties' food was delivered, zero follow up to check in after food was dropped off, etc. Flat bread pizza was like a cracker. The band was ok, but 20 dB too loud. Never again. Trust the other negative reviews. I wish I had.

The food and services is great! Live music and family oriented. They have valet parking.

Service is great, food is great, and the ambiance is fun and laid back. If you're going to party, maybe not the right place. But to out and have a fun night with family and/or friends, it's the perfect place.

Best brunch in town. Great prices. Loved my breakfast nachos but I truly want to work my way down the menu .

Live entertainment on Tuesday night (Jenn & friends) was awesome! Good beer selection, excellent food (I ate here two nights in a row), and the patrons were very friendly. Service was good too. One of the best bars I've ever been to anywhere.

The worst service I've had in a long time. I visited with a group this evening. Drinks took at least 40 minutes. My food took 2 hours with no explanation and server seemed annoyed at me when I asked about it. The server had cleared everyone's food in my party when mine arrived. She didn't apologize for how long mine took or explain what happened. Two hours seems excessive for average food. Totally ruined the experience. Will never return.

Great beer selection. The wings were okay. The espresso martini was awful.....like a glass of Baileys, I wish they hadn't added that to their specialty drink list if they didn't know how to make it.

Places like this are why I love (and miss terribly) Louisiana. Had dinner here, it was good. But, as I went to grab my card to pay, the zipper of my purse got stuck in the lining and was immovable. I asked the owner for scissors to cut the lining, and he took my purse and spent a good long time trying to fix it before we started cutting. In the end, we had to make some snips, no big deal, but who else would try this hard for a random customer? This place gets ALL the love.

Came in for lunch and the food was terrible. I got the margarita pizza and it tasted like a frozen pizza for the dollar tree. Save ur money and go somewhere else.

We went for the first time a few weeks ago on a Friday. The service was amazing. Specially drinks were next level! The food was even better. I had the hot bacon salad with grilled shrimp and literally craved it for two weeks until we went back this past Thursday. The service was slow with even less customers than on the previous weekend visit. I ordered the same drink I had previously and it wasn't even the same quality or taste. I ordered this salad again because I had been craving it. Not once, but TWICE the salad came out with RAW shrimp. The waitress even apologized and said "That's something she (The Chef) struggles with fish and seafood". I finally just got the salad with no meat after it came out raw again. That was very off-putting for me. With our appetizer, we ordered extra wonton chips that the food runner dropped on the floor and never brought out new ones, yet we still paid for them. My original isn't would have been 5*, which is why this review has two stars. I'm going to give it one more try- and report back.

had a great experience at this place years ago. tonight I ordered the shrimp poboy. I paid extra for 6 more shrimp. there was a total of 8 shrimp and they still had the shells on- lazy and skimpy - the bread was a toasted hot dog bun. Twenty something bucks for this styrofoam full of sad. two stars for the sweet potato fries that came with it.

We found this little gem during our latest visit to Shreveport/ Bossier City. We got there just before 5 and it was a little empty which raised our suspicions...but it did looked to be more of a late night / live music venue so that could explain. Long story short, great service and delicious food!

It was a slow Monday evening in the middle of May but the barkeeper was as joyous and upbeat as can be. The wings with sweet potato waffle fries were out of this world. If we were not on our way from Georgia to California we would be here often.

They had a live band playing when I visited, and it was so loud, you couldn't even hear the person next to you. When we tried to let management know, they said there was nothing that could be done. Additionally, I ordered a cesar salad that took longer to get than most of the dishes served at our table. Upon inspection, I realized that the "croutons" were just toasted sesame seed hamburger buns. The dressing tasted like mayonnaise with pepper. Would not recommend.

Came here after dinner date for drinks. Place was okay. Drinks were...not great at all.. I got a cosmo. It was orange. He got a Manhattan which he drank a sip of. Everything's as kind of off... The only good thing was the chips :(

Their new brunch is fabulous! The lemon blueberry French toast is divine. The salmon Benedict was cooked perfectly and beautifully plated. Serving sizes were just perfect. Nice beer selection. Good mimosas.

We hosted a party there. Great place with amazing food options. The staff was super supportive even with last minute changes. Highly recommend for casual dining and events!!!

Second time going to this place. First time was a few years back and not very impressive. This time way different. Staff was nice and expediant. For a party of 13 (with reservations) we didn't wait long for anything. Food was good, drinks were always full. There was a band playing but not at a obnoxiously loud level. Id go back

Food was good, and a nice atmosphere. The servers on the other hand, no so great. I felt like I was at a funeral, due to their lack of enthusiasm and sour faces. One friendly server, out of what looked like four ladies. For the most part, they stayed huddled behind the bar talking to one another. Acted completely put out if a customer walked in and they had to speak to anyone besides their coworkers. Hopefully the owner will correct the problem before losing business.

This place just opened! Glad it did! It adds a nice touch to downtown! I would recommend checking this place out if you have time! We ordered the wings and queso for an app. My husband and I shared a flatbread. All of the food and cocktails were amazing. I took a star off because it was slow for us to get our drinks and food. The staff were nice but it was over an hour total to eat. Would definitely recommend checking this place out!

Came here for dinner since we were staying overnight in Shreveport on a roadtrip. We had zero expectations coming in. Pleasantly surprised! They had a limited menu due to covid, but everything that we tried was delicious. The "Hot Pickle" nachos were my fav. Would never expect pickles on nachos to work, but it does! The gumbo was one of the best I've ever had ( I've lived in New Orleans for 4 years and have tried them all). The salmon was good BUT way too much butter. The Shreveport Hot chicken: Excellent!

I've been goin here for a while and the food and service are outstanding. The atmosphere is calm and inviting. I love it here.

I have to say that Noble Savage Tavern is something out of this world! We were fortunate enough to arrive when Claire was running the bar and she is an exceptional human being! Everything here is on point from the cans to the taps the beer is delicious, they also have an incredible whiskey selection and the food is impeccable! Incredibly you can still smoke in this joint- so let that either be a warning or an invitation for y'all! Either way, You can't go wrong with the Noble Savage Tavern

The food was delicious - new head chef is doing some great things here! She came out and talked to us about the food and making an already great place better! We had the steak with potatoes and carrots for entree and cheese curds for appetizer! Had a citrus bread pudding which was also amazing! Kitchen accidentally gave us tartar sauce with cheese curds rather than ranch but I liked it better! Server was sweet and attentive. Great hidden Jem in downtown.

This bar was so much fun it makes me want to visit Shreveport just to come here. This would be my bar if I lived in Shreveport. Great dive bar feel, with high-quality drinks and top-notch staff. Great dart boards!

Hospitality to the max! Some nights here in Northern Louisiana are kinda quiet, much like my first night in Shreveport, but a friend from Baton Rouge had talked to some of his Northern Lousiana folks saying that Nobel Savage is the place to get a great drink, and they were SO right! **Note that even though they may look closed, the power of good conversation and southern hospitality is what kept them open for me and my friends** For the two weeks that we were there we made Noble Savage our go to, spreading the love to them nightly ushering staff and crew to eat and drink there. They even allowed me and a couple of my select crew taste some of the off the menu items ;) Their food here is amazing, with weekly and sometimes daily specials, the chef here takes "pub" food to another level. I could see this kind of place selling out of everything in Los Angeles! I don't make it out to LA often, but rest assured, whether it's Baton Rouge or Shreveport, I'll be making the trek to Nobel Savage! Slante!
