Google
I have dinner and lunch at Rice Barn many times. I have never been disappointed. They always maintain excellent service, no matter how busy they are. The food is consistently high-quality every time I have a meal here. I like their comfortable dining room. The outdoor dining area is good if the weather is pleasant. I know I will be back next time I'm in Vacaville.

Google
Took my little puppy here to help him get socialized, and they were so welcoming right from the start! We were seated in the cozy outdoor dining area, and even though it was a chilly winter night, the staff went above and beyond to make sure we stayed warm. They turned on heaters and checked in constantly. It made the whole experience super comfortable for my pup and family. The food was absolutely delicious—fresh, flavorful, and perfectly portioned. My puppy behaved like a champ (thanks to the relaxed vibe), and I left feeling like we’d found a new favorite spot. Highly recommend for anyone wanting to dine out with their furry friend. Service was top-notch, food was amazing—easy 5 out of 5! 🐶🍽️

Went here for an impromptu date night. This place brought back so many memories with the food and ambiance of being back in Thailand. I felt like a kid again, at my grandmother's home back in 🇹🇭. I will be back and bringing back my friends.

Google
We enjoyed a quick dinner here on a trip. Service was excellent and food delicious and beautifully served. Will definitely come back to try more dishes.

Google
This place is on a different level. I can't remember if I ever had Thai food before. The dishes were colorful. The flavors were rich, decadent. I've always heard about this place and it's rave reviews but never expected the caliber of food these people are cooking. This place is extraordinary. Their people are special. A must experience. Mind blown.

Google
One our favorite place for Thai food. Service is excellent. They have outdoor dining which is great if you have a dog. We had the crispy calamari, crispy pork belly, chicken green curry, creamy tom yum, chicken pad thai and eggplant with tofu. Everything was good. The pad thai was a little strong on peanut flavor. The crispy pork belly was very good specially if you eat it with the onions.

Google
Authentic Thai cuisine with excellent service and a great atmosphere for dinner. I had the drunken man noodles, creamy tom yum soup, and mango sticky rice. All dishes were awesome. Since the place seems pretty popular, you may need to wait 5-10 minutes to get seated. This is probably tied for my favorite spot in Vacaville. Highly recommended!

Google
We were delighted to find this place! The food was good. My partner likes HOT food, like hot enough to make you sweat. And, the Rice Barn gave him exactly what he'd asked for. I was happy they made the larb salad with tofu for me - tofu isn't a normal option on their salad menu. However, they were very accommodating. Update: I brought my coworkers here for lunch, everyone loved it. Lots of vegetarian & vegan options. Their pad thai is now gluten-free. It was easy to work with food restrictions. Everyone was happy!

Yelp
Their fried rice is the best I have tried! Also highly recommend getting a lunch special

Yelp
Two words: MANGO CURRY!! {insert fire emojis} RICE BARN THAI EATERY & WINE BAR is located in Vacaville and we arrived promptly at 4:30pm to avoid the crowds. Turns out everyone had the same idea! Lol. I noticed this restaurant is popular with large groups. The Chef's Specials and regular menu were pretty extensive. We finally decided on: Crispy Rolls - average appetizer yet satisfying Cucumber Salad - fresh and crisp; loved the red onion Mango Curry - THE BEST! MY FAVORITE! Plated in a heart-shaped mango design. We opted for shrimp. Crab Fried Rice - made with Dungeness crab and it was perfectly seasoned Pad See You - we boxed a large portion as leftovers and it still tasted yummy Service was friendly and efficient. Our server checked up on us often. Interior is pretty spacious and clean. Parking is free and convenient!

Yelp
I have bookmarked this place for a while since watching Check Please! My husband was hesitant because he can't believe he can find authentic Thai food in Vacaville of all places l. We haven't found one in the South Bay. I would give it 5 stars if the service was a bit more organized. It was easy to get on the waitlist on Yelp but getting seated after the system said our table was ready took awhile. We didn't get any water for at least 15 minutes and our tea didn't come until we asked for it. Despite imperfections in service, the food is excellent. We ordered oxtails soup 5/5, soft shell crab paid Thai (4/5), Choo Choo rainbow trout (5/5), mango sticky rice (4/5). The restaurant has a bar area, about 10 tables inside, and 4 tables in the patio with heat lamps.

Yelp
Rice Barn is such a great find in the Vacaville area! The location is convenient with plenty of parking, which is always a plus. If you come early for dinner, there's no wait and no need for reservations, but by 6pm the restaurant was already getting crowded. The food was overall really solid with generous portions. The tamarind shrimp was good and came in huge portions, though it could've used a bit more seasoning. The oxtail soup, on the other hand, was the star--perfectly cooked, hearty, and absolutely delicious. I could've easily had more of it. The duck fried rice was also cooked to perfection. The spicy beef salad, however, was on the mild side and didn't quite deliver--I'd probably skip that next time. Drinks-wise, the lychee iced tea was refreshing but a little too sweet for my taste. Prices are very reasonable, the service was great, and the menu is both creative and extensive. While a few dishes could use more seasoning, the overall quality, value, and variety make Rice Barn one of the best Thai spots in Vacaville--and I've tried several in the area. I'll definitely be back to explore more of their menu.

Yelp
Came here due to my friends bringing their fur babies. We ate outside and they were really fast and friendly customer service. They also have I think traditional clothes on as their uniform which I thought was really nice. The plates were massive and we shared them and still had leftovers. I will definitely come again when I'm in town!

Yelp
Opens at 430pm and lots of free parking! Great food and great service. We had a party of about 12 and got seated right away. Well known for their famous crab fried rice

Yelp
What a disappointment their chicken pad Thai is. I feel like pad Thai is the staple of most Thai restaurants and if you can't get that right, I'm not going back. Today I decided to try this place and I ordered chicken pad Thai. Zero flavor at all. It was so blah and tasteless, and for $18, what a waste. The portion size was huge but who cares if it doesn't taste good. I'll never eat here again. There are so many more and better Thai food options around here.

Yelp
One of our favorite restaurants in town! The staff is always so friendly and welcoming. We like to order our entrées à la carte with a side of rice, and everything always hits the spot. If you come on a weekend--especially during lunch or dinner--expect a bit of a wait, but it's absolutely worth it. Every dish is packed with flavor, and you really can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Don't forget to ask for the chilis on the side if you want to add a little extra spice!

Yelp
This place is home to me. I love the wide variety of Thai food that is offered here. It's been years since my last visit but service is always top notch and friendly. The setting is always mellow deliteful. I have to say this is the staple for Thai food and the menu has traditional Thai and exotic meals as well. Frog legs to black ink noodles all are delicious. This outing I had crispy garlic chicken and chicken dumplings "delicious". I highly recommend this place

Yelp
Found Rice Barn Thai Eatery on Yelp and I'm so glad I did! We got seated right away and the service was so friendly. We were given 3 different menus: one for drinks, another for traditional Thai dishes, and another for chef speciality dishes. We ordered: -thai iced tea -crispy pork belly appetizer -pad thai -pad se ew -yellow curry -crispy chicken over fried rice Everything was delicious and I'm looking forward to coming back to try more of the menu! Would highly recommend if you're in the Fairfield/Vacaville area and craving Thai food.

Yelp
This place definitely lives up to the hype! There's definitely a lunch rush on weekends, so I recommend reserving a spot ahead of time. There's both indoor and outdoor seating, and they can accommodate larger groups as well. The place has plenty of tables, an inviting atmosphere, and lots of parking. The staff is dressed in cultural clothing and are pretty attentive. They check in regularly, offer to refill drinks, and are quick with serving up food. We were once given the wrong check, and once we notified staff they were quick to fix the situation. The food is where it's at though! Our favorites are the yellow curry, crab fried rice, pad thai, and pork belly. Slightly more on the pricier side, but the food tastes so good, and I usually leave with leftovers. Love coming back here!

Yelp
The place is very clean and staff are very attentive! I ordered the Drunken Man Noodles which was amazing, great flavor, and huge portion! Worth the price. We also ordered the Pad see You, no pictures though, it was also pretty good. I would come back when in the area!

Yelp
Been to rice barn Thai eatery since they opened many years ago. I used to work at the nearby hospital so we ordered pick up and deliver many times. I also tried many times dine in at the restaurant so that I can try other dishes. The mango curry is surprisedly delicious. With mango heart shape and shrimp. It's different than your typical curry. I love their drunken noodles, pad thai, calamari!

Yelp
Not sure how long the Rice Barn has been open, but I made my first visit about a year ago. Since that time, I've returned on four other occasions and have enjoyed every visit. I think one of the reasons I didn't go to the Rice Barn sooner, is that it looks kind of unassuming from the outside. A classic case of don't judge a book by its cover. It's not that it ugly or anything, just isn't an eye catcher. I'd say the same a bit about the inside. Not spectacular but it is very cozy and comforting. Good location right next to Nugget Market. Service is always great. Plenty of smiles and help if you have any questions. A small item I really like is the cups they serve the water in. Metal...Stays cold and refreshing. Food is really good. I've tried the Lemon Chicken, Pad See Ew, Oxtail Soup, Basil Chopped Chicken, Honey Mustard Gyoza, and Papaya Salad over the course of my visits. All good, but some items are definitely better than others. I say the Lemon Chicken and Pad See Ew are extremely good. I also really enjoy the Papaya Salad. I've known some close friends for over 30 years now that are from Laos, Thailand, Cambodia, and Vietnam, and all their parties have Papaya Salad, and it's by far the best I've ever tasted. This isn't to that level, but it is very good. Better than I get at other Thai restaurants. Prices are fair and affordable. There appears to be a nice selection of wine to choose from as well. I nice spot for lunch or dinner, be it with co-workers or family and friends.

Yelp
This is a spacious restaurant with a great outdoor seating area and a menu full of options to suit any taste. However, the name is a little misleading by calling it a wine bar. They do have alcoholic drinks but a very small wine menu. Only one Sauvignon blanc and they were out. I was surprised to see it packed on a Thursday, it's clearly a local favorite. I tried the fried tofu and the shrimp trio, and both dishes were delicious. My vegetarian friend had the sautéed eggplant and it didn't have a ton of flavor. The staff were friendly, attentive, and made the experience even better. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area!

Yelp
Came on a busy Friday lunch right at opening and it was already getting packed! Quick service! They bring those dishes out in a timely manner!! Ample flavors in each bite... always best when sharing! The vibe of the place would've been nicer if they kept the temp at a cool 60 something.... It was super warm in the place!!! Everyone kept saying how hot it was in there. It was almost cooler outside. Despite the warm environment I enjoyed the visit back.

Yelp
The food is always good here and comes out quickly. Only thing affecting my review this time was the service. It wasn't as great as usual and feel like we were forgotten about for a long time after the meal was finished. The noise level was also really uncomfortable inside. Would sit outside if I came back.

Yelp
It's been a minute since I've been impressed and had no expectations! We stopped in on a random Saturday for lunch and so glad we did. Service was welcoming from the second we stepped in and attended to right away with waters. We ordered the crispy pork belly, which was good..I'm sure paired with beer later in the evening this would be delicious. I thoroughly enjoyed the panang curry with chicken and the spicy basil fried rice! Now that's a winning combo and I'd come back here just for that again!! Neither was super spicy- just the right amount for me. Service was warm and we were checked on several times and had our waters refilled multiple times. I highly recommend dining here.

Yelp
I'm surprised it took me so long to try this place out. I am so happy that I did! Came here on a Sunday after church, about 30 minutes after they opened. There was already plenty of people there to eat lunch, but a good amount of seating left. Their menu is HUGE! It made it so hard to decide on what to order. We ended up getting an order of their wings, tamarind prawns, spicy beef salad, and two orders of their pad thai with bean thread noodles. Everything was really delicious, great flavors, and pretty big portions! The only dish we were kind of iffy on was the spicy beef salad. The meat seemed like it was boiled or maybe pan fried from frozen, rather than grilled. It jut didn't have that bbq flavor we were expecting, and was a little tough. So that dish was just ok. But the appetizers we got were defiinitely super delicious. The wings were sticky and sweet, and the shrimp had a nice creamy, tamarind flavor (almost like a thai version of walnut prawns). Lastly, the pad thai was sooo good. Loved that they had the option to serve it with the bean thread noodles versus the flat rice noodles that it usually comes with. Made the dish a lot lighter. Ended up taking a bunch of leftovers home, and they were just as good heated up the next day. Will definitely be back again soon!

Yelp
The waitress was lovely. She did a great job with checking in to make sure everything was good. I ordered the chicken pad thai (the photos can speak for themselves honestly). I also ordered a lychee tea and it was quite delicious. As for the ambiance: there was warm lighting and loud music so it seemed like a great place for casual dates or having dinner with your family, nothing too fancy or anything. Overall a great place to eat if you appreciate potential food poisoning and casual vibes.

Yelp
I introduced my husband to Rice Barn for our anniversary. I had been here a couple of times before with a girl friend during our occasional weekday visits to Vacaville. This time it was on a Saturday for lunch. The past couple of times I had lunch specials. I guess they don't offer lunch specials on weekends. We each ordered from the Noodles/Street Food section of the menu. My husband ordered the Drunken Man Noodles (beef, wide rice noodles, eggs, cabbage, green bean, yellow onion, red bell, basil, chili garlic sauce - on recommendation of our server when he asked which of three choices she recommended) and I had the Kao Soi (chicken breast, milk curry, egg noodles, red onion, cilantro, lime, green onion.) We were both really impressed with our choices. The flavors were exquisite and the portion sizes very generous. Note to Maribeth if you are reading this. We were given ice water in cute little metal bowls. I was parched after taking a long hike. I picked up my bowl to drink and it immediately fell out of my hand and water and ice was everywhere. The hostess immediately came over and offered us a new table. I then used two hands to pick up the water bowl, once replaced.

Yelp
It's been few years since we last been to this place & unfortunately we were disappointed in just about every dish we ordered sadly. The crispy pork belly was either old or over cooked because it was dry and hard almost jerky like. Same goes with the duck that went on the fried rice. Overcooked or was like under heating lamp too long? or something along the lines. Tom yum soup & the red curry was a bit disappointing as far as authentic flavor. Only food that was somewhat ok was the kids meal as kids were entertained with the dinosaur and crispy chicken was good but fried rice again like the duck fried rice was not great. We got there right before 5 after they open back up at 430pm on a Friday. 40 mins wait for indoor seating but luckily the outdoor was open & well equipped with heat lamps and shade that came down to block the wind to keep us cozy. Our servers was overall awesome and did a good job as they kept checking up on water refills and prompt at taking orders. Nice and attentive. Considering the prices we felt we expected better dishes. We understand maybe one or so can be a off day but majority of the dishes ordered.. needless to say we won't be back.

Yelp
Love this spot - I've been here many times and keep coming back for the Bangkok noodles/chicken. They've got a great Thai iced tea, wonderful rice dishes, tasty appetizers and I have not ordered but have seen their other dishes which look great also. Service has been good each time, friendly and quick. They've got bar seating, indoor tables and bench, and outdoor. Ambiance of a lively Thai spot with good seating options. Highly recommend.

Yelp
I reviewed this restaurant before, but I had to submit another review for a special I had that was out of this world. It was the scallop and lychee curry dish. The texture of the scallops and the lychee was really interesting. They kind of mimicked each other. The sweetness of the lychee was incredible with the tenderness and freshness of the scallops. I've never had a curry like this with these ingredients. It was a special indulgence and experience for sure. Make sure they always check out their specials! They do rotate them pretty regularly. The weight staff is usually very helpful and knowledgeable. If you have questions about the menu. And the ambience is always really good, love sitting on the patio.

Yelp
Rice Barn is such a pleasant surprise for Asian food in Vacaville! We came here on a whim after minimal research and simply seeing the good rating on Yelp. Thankfully it did not disappoint! We ordered takeout and the wait was relatively quick (about 15 minutes) despite the restaurant being packed full. The server at the front was super friendly and helpful. We ordered the fried tofu, pad see ew, tom yum soup and mango salad. Every was delicious! The fried tofu was crispy and we devoured them on the ride home. Pad see ew was seasoned perfectly and the noodles were a nice chewy texture. Tom yum was perfectly sour. I was really surprised by the mango salad which was light and refreshing but also filling because of the chicken. The dressing on this was great and I would most definitely order it again!
google avatar

Tina R.

Yelp
I was a bit sad that all the food tasted too sweet for my tastebuds. The tom yum soup, the yellow curry, and the chicken pad thai were all like that. If the sweetness wasn't overpowering, the dishes would have tasted delicious and amazing! The crispy pork belly was the same, but I know it's supposed to be like that. It was my favorite dish out of all of them.
google avatar

Pamela S.

Yelp
We've had this restaurant on our list for awhile and decided to give it a try for lunch. Since it was a warmer day we decided to sit inside. The atmosphere is nice and we sat a table with a cushioned seat along with 2 chairs. It was starting to get busy but there were still tables available. The waitstaff was friendly and the service was very good. We both had the Lady Drunken Noodles. One with chicken (very tender) and one with tofu and both were delicious. Some might find the spice level not hot enough but we thought it was perfect! The portions were generous so I was able to take some home and enjoy it the next day. I highly recommend!
google avatar

David M.

Yelp
This is the second time I've been there. My cousin and I ordered different pork belly dishes and they were excellent. The portion sizes are generous, I had two full meals out of mine. I didn't get the mango and sticky rice this time but it was excellent the last time I went.

Yelp
We stopped by on a Sunday evening, and while it was busy with a 20-minute wait, we opted to sit at the bar instead--and it was a great choice. The service at the bar was excellent, and the food was even better. We started with the fresh and crunchy spring rolls. The Tom Kha soup was another highlight--rich, comforting, and ideal for the cold weather. From the chef's menu, we tried the Pad Pak (vegetables), and it did not disappoint. The portion was generous, and the vegetables were perfectly al dente, just the way we like them. Rice Barn isn't fancy, but it has a cozy, welcoming vibe. The food is high quality, the service is attentive, and the prices are very reasonable. It's the perfect spot to enjoy a great meal without breaking the bank.

Yelp
Wish I could give them 0 stars. We took my daughter here for 9th birthday dinner & they made us wait for 30 minutes to order & then when we did order they made us wait another 45 minutes. We asked about what was going on, since a couple who came in right when we were ordering, got their food, ate and then left. Finally we found out our order was never put into the system, we were upset and said it's our daughter's birthday & they didn't care or do anything. This was such a nightmare. My daughter was crying & her birthday was a sad day for her. I will NEVER go back here. Super disappointed in what this place has become.

Yelp
Great food options, and drink choices. Outside patio with heaters which allowed dogs. Love this place. Easy low key with great food. Crab fried rice is so delicious.

Yelp
Great food, great service, and great presentation! Highly recommended. 10/10. We ordered the Chicken fried rice, chicken pad see you, and the fried pork belly. No complaints. Even the Thai milk tea was amazing.

Yelp
Rice Barn is well rated and for good reason! I had previously dined at their sister restaurant Buddha Thai Bistro and ordered from Rice Barn during the pandemic. Excellent flavors. Rice Barn's decor is more modern. Think stone and wood. Farmhouse rustic chic? Outdoor seating. It's romantic. The employees are all dressed in Thai clothing. We strolled in on a Friday evening. It was quite busy but we were able to snag seating for two at the bar. We ordered the yellow curry, mango nata, taro samosa, and the ramen curry pork belly (chef's special menu). Everything was delicious! And the servings were very generous. We had enough leftover curry that I'll be able to get another meal out of the leftovers by adding some rice.

Yelp
Great food and friendly service!!! Always delicious! The Drunken Man noodles are my fav.!

Yelp
Went here for lunch once before. We just had appetizers. Over all, what we ordered was really good. 2nd visit was for dinner because we were trying to save time and get groceries too. We walked in at about 6:20pm on Sunday, the place was packed out! They were able to seat us right away. We ordered creamy tom yum, spicy basil fried rice and chicken larb salad. Everything was really fresh and good. It's a bit noisy but very busy. The services shared between multiple servers which was nice. It was my husband's 1st time and is already talking about visiting again. We will try something new next time but will have the tom yum again! I do recommend this place for Thai.

Yelp
Our experience here was awful from start to finish. The bowls we were given were dirty, and when we pointed it out the staff took them away but never replaced them. We weren't even offered alternatives (we had to grab to-go cups OURSELVES just to eat our soup.) To make matters worse, the bathroom had no soap, raising huge concerns about hygiene and whether employees are washing their hands before handling food. When we mentioned this to staff, they didn't seem to care. Service was painfully slow. It took so long to get our check that I was half-tempted to walk out, I've had pizza delivered faster than this bill was dropped off. On top of everything, because we were a party of six (including a baby), they automatically added an 18% gratuity, dipping into my bank account for service that didn't come close to earning it. This place is in desperate need of new management or a complete retraining of their staff. Until then, I strongly recommend avoiding it. Update:I appreciate the manager taking the time to respond and apologize. I also recognize the effort to provide birthday desserts and sing that gesture didn't go unnoticed. However, I feel it's important to clarify why the experience was still unacceptable, despite those efforts. The issues we encountered weren't minor. I respect that the management is committed to improving staff training, but unfortunately, our experience made us feel like an afterthought. I truly hope changes are made. I have updated my review to not have such a harsh rating and I do understand bad nights happen. It just unfortunate it happend ti take place on our dime.

Yelp
My all time favorite Thai restaurant. Great food and service. Their pad Thai & yellow curry are amazing.

Yelp
Came here for my 2nd time as they had a really sweet deal for Vacaville Restaurant Week! The featured deal from Rice Barn included their AMAZING Crispy Chicken with Ginger Rice, Fried Gyoza, and Thai Iced Tea... all of this for $17!! It was definitely a deal that my husband and I could not pass up on so we definitely had to get it before the restaurant week deals ended. For it being my 2nd time here, they continue to not disappoint in all aspects - food taste, presentation, quick service, cleanliness, and ambiance. Will always keep this place in mind when craving Thai food and will definitely be back for the next Vacaville Restaurant Week!

Yelp
This place is consistent in their service and quality of food. It has been a pleasure watching them develop and trial new items on their menu as well. It makes it rewarding to come back as a regular customer. The service never disappoints. Thank you!

Yelp
We went once and the service was subpar and the food took a while to come out... but the meals were DELICIOUS so we decided to go back another time and the food today, yet again, was 10/10. Service is still not the best in the world, but the food makes up for it! The peanut explosion and yellow curry are so flavorful
google avatar

Yelp
One our favorite place for Thai food. Service is excellent. They have outdoor dining which is great if you have a dog. We had the crispy calamari, crispy pork belly, chicken green curry, creamy tom yum, chicken pad thai and eggplant with tofu. Everything was good. The pad thai was a little strong on peanut flavor. The crispy pork belly was very good specially if you eat it with the onions.

Mandy V.

Yelp
We went tonight and were disappointed with the service. Our food was good but our server didn't have a good attitude and didn't check on us we had to hunt her down. We were disappointed because we heard the food was good and it was. We won't be going back because of the service

Yelp
My first time ever really having Thai food and I was not disappointed. I started off with the garlic mushroom appetizer which was delicious. Then I ordered the pad Thai chicken along with the mango Nata. The portions are HUGE! lol I'll have to come here next time and spilt my dish with someone. Service was friendly, I'll definitely be back. 10/10 recommend.

Yelp
Food was good, service was eh, and they included gratuity in a 4 adult meal... not a fan of including a standard tip without our choice.

Yelp
Food was not bad , not memorable enough, for me to return and try other dishes. They seated us fairly quick, place menu in front of us and within minutes wanted us to order . Okay! I get that need to turn each table for turnover . Got our order , and once we placed our order , basically ignored us. Until the brought the dishes , I felt the service was lacking for me and I didn't like where they sat us . Felt like in an episode of Seinfeld where Jerry, George and Elaine were seated very close to the kitchen door where the servers had to go in very frequently to take out the dishes. We were placed at where the curtain was placed next to the kitchen entrance where the dirty and used dishes were taken. Please remove the position of the table where your back is to the wall where one can view the kitchen with the blue curtain and the entrance . The energy didn't feel welcoming and for me I didn't feel welcome or particularly enjoyed the seating arrangement. Drunken Noodles was a pass for me , highlight for me was the peanut explosion dish. Papaya Salad I have had better, heat and fish sauce was watered down , fried Calamari was edible.

Yelp
Starting 2024 off with a quick review of my new favorite thai eatery in Vacaville. Small restataurant packed with big flavors, Rice barn is bringing the heat. As a surprise dinner, my brother took my mom and I out. You know a place is good when it just stays packed from the time you walk In. It took 30 mins to be seated, but ivee waited longer. .If you've watched the show "Check please!" For Bay area eats...then this featured restaurant is the place to visit for some solid Thai food.... Gotta come back cause I didnt the bangkok noodles! Ciao for now
