The Depot at Gibson Mill

I just love coming out to Gibson Mall and exploring. It's always such a fun and unique experience. Treasures abound through the different booths from antiquities and mcm to hand-crafted and contemporary items. I recommend stopping by The Depot Deli in the back. Great little menu, a super friendly team, and great food. It hits the spot and gives you some energy to keep going and see the rest of the space! Give yourself at least 2 to 3 hours or more to see it all.

A very nice and large antique store with so much to look at. We actually found a couple random things we were looking for. The place is so huge that we got lost a couple of times and I feel we missed some sections. However, since I was dealing with my kids it might not be as confusing when giving it my full attention. Nevertheless that was part of the fun. They had a number of antiques I have not seen in other stores. Like some reviews say, there are some sections of not antique or vintage but the home stuff that you see in other antique stores. They seemed to be in two specific areas primarily. To the right of the entrance from what I gathered is where majority of antiques and vintage things are if you want to avoid the more modern home furnishings (but there are cool things there also). There is a very nice cafe in the center that I wanted to use for it's good selection of Dr Brown sodas had I not already had soda and food right before. Nearby is a small arcade room my kids loved with Ms Pacman and two claw games. Once we checked out the cashiers were very friendly to talk to, and that made it an all around pleasant trip! We will have to come back again to look at more.

What an awesome place! A goldmine of treasures waiting to be discovered 😀 Plan to spend a few hours minimum and where your most comfortable shoes. Check out the Auto Barn before you leave. Classic cars and trucks galore 🤩

Wow!! If you have an entire day, this is the place to go! What seems like endless (dopamine filled) walking might leave you feeling peckish, however, the convenient sandwich eatery allows you to stay in the building for lunch. Lots of genuine antiques and a few booths with newer and/or handcrafted items. Fair pricing and very organized.

Vast area of antiques from floor to ceiling! There are sections of the building split out or divided so it's easier to navigate than one massive floor of antiques. I wish there was more WW2/Military Surplus items but everything else was very cool to look at.

This place would get 5 stars. If the vendors were not so greedy on prices. The venue itself is enormous and greatly presented. But it was more like a museum than a place to buy something. Me and my wife did find a few treasure where the vendors were not out of their minds. But we were expecting to find way more than we did. Great place to go if you like to pay way too much for what you get. I'm just not that person.

Definitely the largest antique mall we’ve ever been to. It was clean, organized and had so many vendors!! Lots to look at, mostly vintage, some newer stuff, it’s the holiday season so lots of decorations and holiday related themes. Beautiful furniture, crystal, household items galore! If you’re in an RV there is Harvest Host parking so plenty of space. The route going out is a little rough though, lots of potholes, so maybe take the primary entrance out instead. Oh yes, the train - wow!!

So much variety of things to look at and purchase in one place! Personally, l collect colored glass bottles/vases and many from my collection came from The Depot at Gibson Mill. Love this place!

Delightful. From the easy experience of going from booth to booth, to the creaky floor, this place has the selection you're looking for when you come to an antique mall/makers showcase. Staff was helpful and kind, knowing that we arrived within 40 minutes of closing - we rushed but when it was time to check out, we didn't feel like we inconvenienced anyone. A must stop if you're on the road and looking for a break from a long drive.

Great place just to wander around and look at all the vintage items for sale. Brings back a lot of memories of bygone years. Probably spent two hours in here gazing at all the different items offered. Definitely a great place to spend time!

I came here looking for an antique tea set and unique wine glasses. What I found was a plethora of some of everything! Good stuff, not junk. This place is humongous and neatly organized to find some really good quality antiques. Arrival time was about 3pm with the sun still shining. By the time I left (at closing, lol) it was well passed 6pm...time stood still while looking up and down each aisle. Needless to say, I did not find my tea set and wine glasses BUTTTT I will return for another look.

I didn't take any pictures, but this ranks in my top 5 returnable visit antique malls. Meaning, there will be different stuff every time you come here. The place is huge. Get lost huge. Stuff for everyone huge. Need 4 hours plus to walk huge. Will need to rest in between sections huge. Clean, safe, fun and handicap friendly. Top spot for me to take older relatives when they are in town.

Such a fun spot to spend the day. So many antiques and a great spot to thrift some items. We were just looking around so we didn't leave with anything but I've bought a dresser from here before and still have it. The place is huge!

Love coming here and just browsing all the things this place has to offer! Walking up and down the aisles brings back so many memories! The vendor selections are so good and each booth is something different! Never know what you might leave with!!

My wife heard about this place for antiques and vintage finds and understood it is the largest antique mall in the south. So, we decided to travel the hour to Concord to check it out. We really didn't know how big it was until we pulled into the parking lot, WOW!! We first headed over to the Market area which we understand is a somewhat new addition (separate review). We walked in and were immediately impressed by the quality of the items within the booths. Now are you going to get an incredible deal, likely not, but this is a fun place to explore and get ideas. There was a long line of people waiting for the checkout and they were likely taking advantage of discounted Christmas items which many of the booth were offering at reduced prices. The building itself is very cool, my wife and I both love vintage industrial buildings and this has everything you look for in a vintage commercial space. We took about an hour to explore the perimeter aisles, it would easily take 4+ hours to wander each and every aisle. We will absolutely stop in again and are already planning to take my in-laws when they visit from the west coast this Spring.

Cool place huge! You can find almost anything here I happily get lost here ! Nice people work here you can pick up free maps of the place I recommend it really it is "the largest in the south" great way to spend an afternoon

Love hitting up the Depot from time to time-if antiques are your thing this is a mecca...Unique vendors and a lot of fun searching for interesting items you won't find elsewhere.

I always love going to the depot, I go even if I'm not looking to buy something. The atmosphere is so cool and I always have a good time looking around. It's a HUGE antique store, I love it so much. Some things are over priced but it's to be expected. The only downside is that there almost always is a line to checkout, there's only two registers so it takes awhile, but the employees are nice.

This place is humongous! I loved it so much. Spent two hours browsing and still didn't see everything. They have a small deli so that you can eat and continue to shop. Very friendly and the Rueben was finger licking good and the potato salad was delish!! Was sad I had to leave as I was not from the area but will return!

My happy place! Go-to destination for antique lovers, urban adventurers, or anyone just looking to get out of the house on a rainy day. First of all, it's massive. Easily worth a day-trip. Second, the old building (old cotton mill) adds much character & history to any shopping excursion. I almost always find exactly what I am looking for. Prices are what one would expect for this type of place. Pro-tip: there is food (including beer/wine) on-site. (For a more extensive menu, don't miss the Gibson Mill Market food hall next door!) It's also an Instagram lover's dream!- Will update my review with photos when I get a chance.

Absolutely recommend this place. Nestled in Concord North Carolina, you have to stop in here. People WAIT outside for this place to open up. Extremely quaint historic town and this very nostalgic and turn of the century building repurposed and refreshed!! Pros: Wonderfully decorated, music overcasted and billions of vendors to get lost around. 'Highly' recommend having a map with you! Cons: Can't even remotely consider one, LOL! Come one, come all, bring the family!!

Had a great time here the other day! I spent hours going through all of their booths and found some amazing finds at pretty affordable prices. A great place to take people from out of town who like to shop! There's also a food hall next door that has a pretty good selection.

Y/ DM CM. Wow can spend half day here looking. Lots of smalls glassware home decor vintage fabric Knick knacks. Just gorgeous displays and tons of tons of items for your home or find that collectors item. Prices are a tad high but if you can find that special something all the better. Very little in terms of antique or vintage furniture.

I have always enjoyed Gibson Mill. It is a great escape to find antiques, oddities, new items, and fun stuff. I will continue to go, but I know that my recent experience will forever taint future experiences. I found a gorgeous standing mirror while shopping one Saturday with my mom. Purchased it and they said they could hold it for up to seven days and I could come pick it up within that time. Wednesday rolls around and we leave our house in the husband's truck, with an hour before closing (30-minute drive with an anticipated 30-minutes left before closing). Due to unforeseen traffic issues, we pulled in the parking lot at 7 PM and got to the door at 7:02 (2-minutes after they closed). I get that I was late as the women mouthed through the glass window "sorry, we close at 7". So, we left, with the intent to come again the next day and a 30-minute drive home Thursday, we left a little earlier, in storms, accidents everywhere and got there with 5-minutes to spare. Door locked again, and three people inside. I showed my receipt through the window and said you still have 5-minutes before you close. I immediately get told they can't do pick-ups that late, the lights are already off, all the guys had already left (except the one who let me in) and they have to be off the clock exactly at 7 pm. When I was told when I could pick it up, no one mentioned that it could not be picked up that close to closing. The two female staff had really bad attitudes and were rude. I explained that this was my second evening of leaving as soon as we could possibly leave, after my husband left work early, sitting it traffic for nearly an hour each time for different reasons and will have spent 3-hours just in the effort to pick this item up. The gentleman who let me in, looked at me, spoke over the two women and said, "Don't worry, I will go get it for you". As he went to go get it, the first woman, who was the woman there the prior night angrily reached her hand out and demanded she see my receipt as if she didn't believe me and was frustrated that she was being asked to provide excellence in customer service. I get that there are limits on working hours and some people are just there to collect a paycheck and ideally, I would have been there earlier. Would LOVED to have been there earlier actually. Dealing with the stress of kids in the car, traffic, storms, and being late for someone who thinks being "early is on time" is frustrating. It may sound cheesy, but I learned many years ago in customer service training to "Give 'Em the Pickle". I suggest Gibson Mill get their employees to watch it, because it has had a lasting impact on how I treat my customers and clients in my business (Give 'em the Picke, by Bob Ferrell). Giving 4-minutes of their time, a tiny bit of extra effort, is a easy pickle, especially for someone who has spent three hours of stress trying to make it happen. Empathy, compassion, service, excellence and trust are some values that could be instilled in these ladies. Additionally, if you don't believe in assisting your customers until 7, your advertised closing time, then communicate a time for cutting off pick-up - 6:30 maybe? However, the gentleman who said "Don't, worry, I'll go get it for you" should get a shout out in your next staff meeting. He was a an exemplary employee and lead by example. He had empathy, strong emotional intelligence, compassion, excellence and service. To the gentleman who's name I do not know who saw what we were going through and understood....Thank you, a million times THANK YOU!

So happy to see this finally starting up. Great way to bring people near and far together for some good food, good beer, and some good entertainment indoors or out. Next up, get a live band to play to really bring a crowd or a casual day spent with Friends and or family! The Buffalo chicken wrap I had was delicious and the fries were my favorite type! Staff was extremely friendly. Gibson Mill has so much to offer if you're in for lunch, drinking, or a sweet treat with coffee! Can't wait to see what more is brought there! Thanks for such a fun time !

We enjoying looking at antiques in search of something, but not sure what....lol. The depot is large with many separate rooms. Each vendor has their own booth or space. We were impressed how nicely the items were displayed. The prices were a bit higher than vintage markets or estate sales, but we had a nice time perusing the items.

Huge antique mall. You can easily spend hours here. Great place to go on a rainy day. Tons of smalls to huge industrial antiques. I would highly recommend.

Hobby lobby in an old mill. Unfortunately, some of the workers behind the counter aren't the nicest, and maybe customer service and dealing with customers is not their calling.

This is one of the COOLEST places I've been to. A hidden GEM! I can't believe I haven't known about it. I'm in awe. Such a large selection, a true blast into the past. Tons of rooms, prices were varied but there is really something for everyone. It's definitely a little overwhelming but not if you like this kind of thing. You could spend hours here, it's HUGE.

I used to like this place until it became fully commercialized. We went up yesterday hoping to explore all the antiques and variety of vendor booths. It seems it is now the same type/style of items spread throughout all of the "booths". Shabby chic decor and fake antique signs, dishes and other items with a few truly vintage items sparsely sprinkled about. Lots of pillows, candles, and "live, laugh, love"-type signs. It's truly awful. A few yrs ago it was a true antique mall. So disappointed by what it's become. I won't return. (I'd much rather go to Sleepy Poet, Southend Exchange or The Brass Grasshopper).

This place is truly magical!! There is something for everyone here!! The antique mall is humongous and there's no telling what treasures you'll find when you stop by! I also love that the staff members there are friendly and helpful as well. Everything is organized very nicely and clean!!! I always have a blast coming here, looking through everything!!! Highly recommend this place if you're a collector or if you just love shopping in general. You will not be disappointed!

We had a great time and found a few things we couldn't live without! The mill is beautifully converted, it's ranking in my top 5 favorites I've been to in my 40 years of collecting vintage and antiques. The majority of the booths are organized, well kept, thoughtfully curated and artistically decorated like darling little boutiques. Prices seemed overall in line and fair. We enjoyed our day trip from Upstate SC to Concord NC.

We traveled a 6-hour round trip with an infant child to visit this pillar of Concord, North Carolina. We were set on finding the latest and greatest vintage home adornments. We throughly enjoyed our hours-long stroll through the antiquated aisles of this establishment. However, my mother desperately wanted filler for the entrancing vase she bought. They would not let her buy one of the flowers for it because she didn't know the price. It was quite impudent. Also, the coffee shop was closed.

My parents used to have two booths at Gibson on McGill and I always loved looking at of everyone's items.

This place is amazing! Very large, so many rooms it's insane. You think you're done and then there's another room to explore. I could spend all day antiquing here and still not see it all.

Love this place and all it has to offer. Even love the deli mid point where you can have a nice bite to eat.Everything from fabric to antiques can be found.The only thing I don't like is when you sped like 350.00 and you get one stamp on the card. It really should be a stamp for every 50.00 or even 100.00. It's only fair to those who by a 55.00 item and not to those who spend more

While visiting family in Charlotte, my DIL suggested we visit the Depot. What a delightful place. Loads of fun antiques and vintage items. The prices were spot on in my opinion. The vast majority of the booths were very well maintained. It was a little confusing to get around. The aisles were plenty wide to pass other shoppers. The entire space is well lit. There was quite a line at the check out but people were getting checked out quickly. Nice mini shopping carts were available for shoppers. It had a welcoming vibe. I'd recommend planning on a couple hours to visit the depot.

Antiques galore. Wear good walking shoes and make sure you have plenty of time. There is a lot to see.

The BEST antique mall period. Do yourself a favor and go! The adjacent food court is also amazing. The car barn is a fun add on if you have time. Dogs are welcome in the antique mall and are on on the food hall patio.

Depends on the day sometimes you go in and there is something cool in almost every booth other days it all feels like garage sale rejects.

I love this place! I take my grandsons with me and they are teenagers! They also love it here. I drive 2 hours for this special treat!

This place is huge. And confusing. Take a map at the front desk! And even then, you'll be wandering around asking yourself "Have I already done this bit?" But they have lots of vintage stuff, and not too many cheap, brand-new decor items. So I'd come back. Well worth the trip.

Great fun and lots of things to look at! We went on a whim and had the best time! I bought a few small things and have loved them all. From iron works to local soap, it's a must go.

Color me surprised and then color me impressed. The Depot at Gibson Mill is just mind-blowing. So many booths, so many things to see. Is that feeling you get when you first enter, a mild panic attack or excitement? Definitely excitement that will fuel you through a couple of hours of perusing antiques, modern farmhouse home décor and well, you think of it, they have it. The warehouse size building seems to be divided into 3 main sections with aisles running in different directions. In the entire place, there was only one empty booth that hadn't been rented! There's a small café if you get hungry or thirsty. Also for guys whose wives can most likely "out shop" them, High Branch Brewing is very close by (same building hehe). Found a couple of antique prints/frames at very reasonable prices. Just a little something for everyone - whether you're just reminiscing or actually buying, I think you'll really enjoy the Depot. And for the record, I wasn't tickled pink but did thoroughly enjoy this place...the building itself is a work of art!!

The Depot is a fabulous concept! Vendors have their own booth that they set up their antiques and goods for sale in throughout the space. There are three large rooms with aisles and aisles of booths for you to stop at. The antiques themselves range from things like glassware to clothes and a huge fabric section. I spent about two hours here just walking around and looking at everything. If you see something you want but are still thinking about it, they will hold it at the front for you. It was nice to not have to walk around carrying the oar I bought. A good rule of thumb is to go ahead and set something aside if you think you might buy it because someone else may snatch it up. There is also a small old school style cafe on site offering sandwiches and other lunchtime menu items so you can take a break if you get hungry. If you are into antiques or simply looking for something unique to add to your home decor, give The Depot a visit!

Enjoyed a nice afternoon walked the many rows, rooms, booths inside the Depot at Gibson Mill. 80% inside contained antiques. Prices varied based on the booth so shop around. Several booths were having a sale. It's a great way to spend the afternoon. It took at least 2 hours to walk through it all...and I'm not sure we hit every room! This is a definite stop if you like antiques. Enjoy!

The building itself is an experience. A menagerie of eclectic and fun booths displaying a wide array of fun antiques and collectibles. Worthy of a detour and has a man cave to watch tv if you don't want to shop and a fantastic restaurant. Great destination for a lazy Sunday stroll or finding that one of a kind must have item!

Always fun and lots too see. If there was one suggestion to improve the experience it would be for better rotation of merchandise.

A trip to the Depot is fun experience. The building in itself is fun to walk through. What was once home to a cotton mill that provided jobs for a great number of local residents now houses an 88,000 square ft. antique and designer mall. The booths vary in content. Some booths are heavy in antique glassware and dishes while other may be filled with vintage furniture. There are booths that feature a blend of old and new items. There's a wall that sells art work from local artists. The prices vary from booth to booth but I was able to find some good deals today on several items. The large booth with old coins and pocket knives was interesting. There's a booth with homemade soap, lotions, and skin care products. There's a snack shop inside the mill. One of my favorite booths was near the registers and sold jellies, jams, relish, honey, and other edibles. I have bought pear preserves from here before that was delicious. The cheese straws are also good. This place provides a fun shopping experience, great merchandise, and reasonable prices all in a climate controlled environment. I bet you'll say "we used to have one of those!" at least once while walking through.

This place literally has any and everything you could possibly want! Definitely a must if you're headed this way.

The Depot at Gibson Mill is a true gem! There's never enough time for me to see everything I want to see. The booths are always decorated so nicely. If I won't the lottery, this would be one of the first places I'd go on a shopping spree! (Not saying everything is too expensive...I just don't have a lot of dispensable income.) I always find one or two treasures to take home, but I love just looking around too.

Reiterating what everyone else has already said, The Depot is incredible! It's also HUGE but there are so many beautiful things to check out. If you see something you can't live without, you better purchase it before you leave because chances are someone else will snatch it up. There's also a lot of junk but the good massively outweighs the not so good. There are things of all price ranges too. The building itself, in my opinion at least, is gorgeous. I love the old, creaky wood floors. The large windows that let in tons of beautiful, natural light. I'm partial to old, rustic things anyways so this is like shopping heaven for me. The first time I visited The Depot, I spent several hours here and still didn't get through the entire thing. I stopped to look at a lot of things though. As an homage to yesteryear, the different sections are named after rooms from the mill. You can even grab a snack or a bite to eat while you're here at Ellie's Diner, located in the cotton room. I haven't eaten here yet myself but I did grab a drink. The food certainly smelled good and there were quite a few people dining. If you spend enough money per vist you'll receive a punch card so after X amounts of dollars spent per visit you can receive a discount. And if you're anything like me you'll have to hold back so you don't spend too much. There is just so many awesome things to check out here.

Neat place! So much to see and all the vendors items it could take hours to see it all. Huge place, lots of decor for your hone/yard etc. i return often to see what's new as I am decorating our new home.

UPDATING this to say ...too bad that The Depot At Gibson Mill's management has allowed the number of true antique booths to dwindle to almost nothing. Such as shame because it used to be a great place to spend several hours "antique hunting". My DH and I have noticed that over the past year there has been a progressive movement to fill their vendor spaces with those carrying farm-house chic, painted furniture, mass produced rusti-esque home decor and repurposed pieces, which is fine if that's what you're looking to buy. But The Depot should not self-declare to be "the destination for "Pickers" of antique furniture, household items and mementos from the past ...The Depot at Gibson Mill has quickly become the largest and most popular antique mall in the Southeastern United States." if all I see is booth after booth of hand-made or mass produced "vintage-like" market pieces. It's unfortunate that they no longer carry as many antiques as they did previously. Having a smattering of "booths that inspire nostalgic creativity" is great, but not at the expense of the antique vendors who were originally their "bread and butter". Prices are high for the vintage concept pieces, which as an artist myself I understand the reasoning behind the price point. Unfortunately, it also appears that the few antique vendors left have had to stay in step management's poor decisions by raising their prices as well. There are still truly great "antique malls" to be found in NC, you just have to travel outside of Concord to find them. Will NOT return to The Depot unless changes are made.
