We stopped by for lunch because it’s close to where we are staying. It’s a small restaurant and the menu has local dishes that feature organ meats. We got the artichoke hearts and bruschetta for appetizers and Rigatoni alla Carbonara, Rigatoni alla Amatriciana and Rigatoni al sugo di Coda alla Vaccinara. They were all delicious, perfectly cooked and seasoned and delivered steaming hot to our table. The service was excellent and the waitress knew some English, which helped. The menus were also in English. The ox tail was tender and the gravy a luscious brown, the Carbonara had crispy pieces of “bacon” and a sumptuous egg and cheese sauce that coated the pasta, the Amatriciana was an excellent thick tomato sauce with bits of pork jowl giving it a meaty pork flavor. All were dressed with a sprinkling of Pecorino cheese. We had the house red wine which was a Merlot. Overall it was a fabulous meal and generous portions at a good price and I highly recommend it.
