Love this place. On the pricey side but honestly worth it every time. Lovely atmosphere, delicious food and FANTASTIC desserts, they truly never miss. Highly reccomend anything on the menu, from sweet to savory they all tend to hit the spot. I'm a big fan of the B.L.A.T.E., a BLT with egg and a house garlic aioli. Yum! Their desserts... oh my goodness. It's the whole reason I go to by honest. HIGHLY reccomend their chocolate cakes, the chocolate cinnamon bourbon crunch and chocolate espresso were the ones available when I went last ( they changed their desserts pretty often) and were phenomenal. Accessibility is fine, they have first floor, upstairs and outside seating. They do have a slight ramp at the entrance but its not the easiest in my opinion, because the door is then at an angle, which makes it awkward. The stairs going upstairs are also quite treacherous so be careful!

Everything was absolutely perfect here. The atmosphere , the customer service , the food that deserves just everything. This feels like a release special place , and I highly recommend you dining here. Especially if you can eat out on the patio they keep it nice and warm even when it's chilly out. I highly recommend. The chicken dish and cheese bites.

What a gem in St. Louis! Cozy, home-like atmosphere with food that reminds you of family meals, so welcoming! The staff is very attentive and the menu is precious: delicious meatloaf, perfect pasta dishes! We got all our choices right. And, the carrot cake was incredible! The portions are super generous! We loved it.

Google
What a lovely place for brunch! Had a reservation and got seated right away. Server was super nice and attentive. Cocktails were superb! I had the B.L.A.T.E. And it was exquisite!! Needed a leftover box there was so much of it!! Got a slice of cheesecake to go, can’t wait to try that later! I’ll have to come back if not for the restaurant, the great bakery too!

Google
I have been wanting to come here since they opened and FINALLY got the chance. I got the sausage bagel and my wife got the sunrise sourdough and we split them. SO.Fricken.DELICIOUS!!! The atmosphere is amazing, we even got a little visitor to our table. My wife said the bloody mary was too strong but she doesn't drink much so maybe that's why. Highly recommend ...if you want a cinnamon roll, get here early or make a reservation and order one then! A must try!

Google
I hit this joint while visiting. I wish I would have gotten food because it all looked good. I was there for their highly-recommended GBC and coffee though. Neither disappointed, but full disclosure, the GBC is not traditional. Well worth trying though!!

Google
First time at this restaurant. They don’t have a parking lot so it’s all street parking. I ordered their quiche special with fresh fruit. The quiche was made with onions, bacon and spinach. The quiche was thick which was nice. It was cooked nicely all the way through and the top and crust wasn’t burnt. It was delicious. I chose the fresh fruit for my side and it was nice to have ripe fruit and none of the pieces looked like they were near turning bad. Our incredible waitress asked if we have eaten here before and I told her this was my first time. So she brought us slices of their gooey butter cake to sample and it was delicious. Their gooey butter cake is made differently. Their gooeyness was more like a custard and it wasn’t over the top sugary sweet. Our waitress gave us excellent service. We sat in a room with 4-5 portable heaters. The room was an enclosed deck, you could see the ground through the boards on the floor. It was freezing outside so during cold weather the room had pockets of very cold and very warm.

Yelp
Typically known for brunch and made from scratch baked goods, Russell's on Macklind also offers dinner service and wow is it GOOD. This quaint and cozy spot serves up seriously delicious, seasonally inspired dishes that really impress. We started with the focaccia topped with ricotta, balsamic, and roasted grapes. The focaccia is house made, fresh, buttery, and perfectly grilled, then we layered with creamy ricotta and roasted grapes balsamic reduction. Honestly, perfection. Next up were the fried potato croquettes. Crispy panko on the outside with fluffy potato on the inside, served with a ranch style dipping sauce. For entrées, we had the sourdough and fennel stuffed pork tenderloin wrapped in crispy bacon over Parmesan grits, the grilled dry aged filet topped with crispy shallots and red wine reduction served over buttermilk mashed potatoes with broccolini, and the ricotta gnudi. Pillowy cheese filled pasta paired with roasted seasonal vegetables and mushrooms in a creamy white sauce. Every dish was thoughtfully executed and the flavors worked so well together. For dessert, we shared two of their house baked and very large cupcakes. Fluffy, generously filled, and topped with plenty of buttercream, it was such a great way to end the meal. I highly recommend not only coming here for brunch, but also making it a go to dinner spot. It is perfect for gathering with friends, celebrating a special occasion, or just treating yourself to a really great night out with exceptional food.

Yelp
FINALLY made it to Russell's for brunch this weekend after hearing good things for years! We made a reservation but our table took a bit longer to be ready, which wasn't a huge deal. we were seated on the patio with heaters, each of the chairs also had a little blanket which I loved since it was so cold today! We of course split the cinnamon roll to start and it is everything I dreamed of and more - you HAVE to get this! I also split the braised beef and cheddar and the Cuban with my friend. Both were great but the Cuban was really special - insanely delicious and a huge portion! The waitress was very nice but our food and drinks ended up taking a long time. She did mention our tables food was coming out the slowest and she was extremely apologetic and comped our beverages to make up for the delay which was so kind, classy and appreciated! Fantastic service, great aesthetic, and amazing food. This is all it's cracked up to be! So good that I forgot to take pics of the sandwiches... definitely make a reservation and check this brunch out!!

Yelp
came for dessert over the summer man, i really have to say that you do not want to eat in the outdoor area if you have O type blood. there are a crazy amount of mosquitos in the area that just make dining impossible to enjoy if you are outside in this area. definitely sit inside if it's the summer. in the winter... well it will probably be too cold to sit outside, so i'm struggling to see the point of outdoor dining at all so what did we get? i think we only ordered a dessert each. don't remember the exact name, but i think my friend got some sort of black forest mousse type chocolate cake, and i got carrot cake. i tried some of his as well. in generally i thought the cake was way too sweet and didn't have much going for it beyond just having a ton of sugar. i was really surprised since people tend to speak very highly of russell's i'll probably be back at some point for either brunch or dinner, since i think that's what people know it for, but yeah this particular trip was very average

Yelp
Came here for brunch based on good reviews, and we were not disappointed. Made a reservation, so the wait was not long. There is a large indoor and outdoor seating area, and we were situated outdoors on a very nice day. We got the burrito, lola, and the buttermilk biscuits, all of which hit the spot. The biscuits were really well-textured and had a good butter flavor to it. All of the jam, honey, and additional butter were excellent additions to the blank canvas of the biscuit. It was not dry, and the balance of salty and sweet was delightful. The lola was also excellent; the bun was perfectly airy and soft. The eggs were cooked to the perfect consistency, and the aioli added a nice little extra oomph to the overall flavor profile. Finally, the breakfast burrito was phenomenal. The cilantro was subtle, and the pork had a delightful saltiness to it. The richness was balanced by the pickled green chiles. Overall, this is an excellent place, and we will return for sure. 5/5 stars.

Yelp
Brunch at Russell's is what dreams are made of. My friend and I came here without a reservation, and we were lucky enough to snag a table without a super long wait time. In the meantime, we weee able to grab a cocktail and admire the bakery items. The presentation on their baked goods is amazing. We sat upstairs at the bar. The bartender was so great, very personable and great to talk to. We ended up so little the biscuits with a side of gravy (highly recommend) and I got the Cuban sandwich. The sandwich is MASSIVE. It will definitely last you 2 meals, and is also served with fries. The bread is crunchy and soft, and the flavors all completed one another well. I loved it. To drink I had the sangria and the float trip. The sangria was my favorite, not too sweet and the fresh fruit really makes it feel elevated. Russell's is always a hit and I will come here anytime.

Yelp
Russell's is a destination that never disappoints. My husband and I went for brunch today, and it was maybe my favorite time there, which is saying a lot! We had reservations for 9:30, and the restaurant was just starting to fill up. Service, as always, was fast and very friendly. I asked for a twist on a cocktail from the menu, and my request was filled with no trouble. To start, we ordered a cinnamon roll, which we've never done before, and oh my gosh, it was huge and delicious. The edges were crispy, and the inside was soft and fluffy. The icing was strategically placed on top so you could get as much as you wanted in each bite. We barely made a dent in it before our food arrived. I ordered the hash special, and it was full of fresh, perfectly cooked vegetables with an egg on top. My husband ordered the crab cake special and absolutely devoured it. Packing up leftovers to take home, our server asked if we wanted a sample of their gooey butter cake that was on special for $10. I'm not sorry we said yes; it was the creamiest, most delicious gooey butter cake I've ever tasted. On our way out, we stopped at the pastry counter and purchased not only the gooey butter cake but also a bottle of wine that normally retails for around $30 that was on sale with the gooey butter cake for a total of $18. It was pretty much the icing on the cake. So--beautiful location, excellent service, delicious food, and an entire dessert with wine for later. I can't imagine anything that could be improved. Love this place!

Yelp
I've been meaning to try Russell's for YEARS after buying multiple of their gooey butter cakes from Fresh Thyme. They currently have a deal on some weeknights where you can get a salad, entree, and dessert for a set price! The bacon-wrapped meatloaf blew my mind; this is not your normal meatloaf! It was huge and had so much flavor and came on buttery mashed potatoes. I also tried some of my friend's local Buttonwood chicken on warm potato salad. The warm potato salad is actually perfectly roasted potato chunks, and the chicken was so tender and juicy. And finally, the desserts. I was a little overwhelmed by how many options there were in the dessert window display and wanted to try ALL Of them. I finally settled on the fluffy toasted coconut cake which was like eating a delicious coconut cloud. I also tried my friend's chocolate caramel cake which was SO rich, and the chocolate chip cheesecake, which made me want to go back and try the other 3 types of cheesecakes they had on display.

Yelp
Super cute place to dine with great food! We sat outside on the back patio. Service was super friendly and helpful. We will definitely go back. Great value for the food and drinks. Definitely recommend checking out. We went for dinner but I understand there is a fantastic brunch.

Yelp
First and foremost: get a cinnamon roll for the table to share. The quality of everything is top notch. I ordered the Lola Jean's Egg sandwich and the soft scrambled eggs were cooked perfectly, the bacon was THICK, and the paprika aioli was a nice touch. Their breakfast potatoes are actually crispy and not an afterthought like most places. I added chipotle aioli and it was chef's kiss. This is the type of place where you'd want to work your way through the entire menu, because everything sounds incredible and thoughtfully conceived.

Yelp
This is the OG. Loved this place from its beginning, the owner does a great job creating an experience for guests. Food is always 10/10 and best bakery in st. louis. I dream of the chocolate ganache cake. It's perfect for a date night or a birthday dinner. They allow dogs on the patio and it's absolutely adorable. They also have a porch as well as upstairs seating. Overall, such a good spot. I can't stress enough how good the bakery is.

Yelp
Had a great Sunday brunch. The atmosphere is pleasant, a welcoming, city vibe. The food choices ordered by our group were delicious, nice presentation without being pretentious. The food, service and surroundings all made you feel special. Had dessert first ... the cinnamon roll! The best I ever had! Did not leave without a stop and take home order from the bakery. Reasonable prices as well!

Yelp
Got a reservation on Open Table and enjoyed a delicious brunch. The buttermilk biscuits with the butter, blackberry jam, and honey are to die for!! I also got a lemon blueberry cheesecake to go and it was so rich and creamy. Can't wait to go back!

Yelp
Went for brunch recently. Service was great and was very helpful in us choosing from some great options. Portions sizes were very large so the prices were definitely fair. Their bakery section was very impressive and while I will definitely be back to dine in, is a great option if you are looking for some sweets!

Mary G.

Yelp
Cute place, waitress was wonderful and patient with our large party! Menu options were great, food was good, a couple items overcooked though.

Yelp
Russell's is one of my favorite brunch spots in STL! The menu is filled with so many delicious items, it's hard to pick what's best but EVERYTHING is consistently good! I love their take on a BLT with Avocado and Egg = B.L.A.T.E.! The thick cut bacon is amazing! Don't skip the cinnamon roll and be sure to grab one of the best chocolate chip cookies (no judgement if you eat it on the ride home )

Yelp
Russell's on Macklind - Brunch Goals, Nailed If brunch had a Hall of Fame, Russell's on Macklind would be front and center, probably holding a mimosa in one hand and a plate of cinnamon rolls in the other. The food? Absolutely fantastic. Every dish feels like it was made with equal parts skill and love. The brunch menu is creative without trying too hard--comfort classics with just the right twist. I had the biscuits with sausage gravy (amazing), but the table also shared a cinnamon roll the size of a small planet, and it was dangerously good. Fluffy, gooey, and clearly crafted by someone who understands the science of happiness. The service? Spot on. Our server was warm, attentive, and managed to keep the coffee flowing like they had psychic powers. Friendly, fast, and genuinely happy to be there--exactly what you want in a brunch spot. The vibe? Cozy, laid-back, and inviting, like a neighborhood gem that doesn't need to scream "cool" because it is cool. Perfect for lingering over coffee and pretending Monday doesn't exist. Bottom line: If you're in St. Louis and you skip brunch at Russell's on Macklind, that's on you. The food is fantastic, the service is awesome, and the cinnamon rolls deserve their own zip code.

Yelp
I've had breakfast/brunch here and dinner and all around the food has been spectacular! It can run on the pricier side but definitely worth the freshness and quality of food. I believe the menu rotates through the seasons and so you can expect something a little different each time you go. Definitely make a reservation before you come as they can get busy during brunch time. Service has always been good and if you're not looking for a sit down meal, they have a dessert/pastry case you can go up to. During dinner it has a very calm ambiance and during brunch it can be a little more chaotic. But overall would recommend if you're celebrating a special occasion or want to treat yourself!

Yelp
We have often gone to Russell's for brunch which is delicious, but we also usually grab a sweet snack on the way out to eat later. (Don't judge!) So it was because of this I knew how yummy their baked goods are when we needed desserts for our engagement party, I called, told them how many people, what sweets we liked, and paid over the phone. A week later we picked up and were the hero's of our own party! (Seriously people raved) I will use Russell's for desserts again!

Yelp
It's still the best brunch I've ever had or can imagine. Service is perfect. The patio is perfect on a Saturday morning.

Yelp
Russell's is the go-to place in the South Hampton neighborhood for brunch, dinner, or drinks with a bit of style and class! The menu is changed up frequently so prices vary; on a recent visit they ranged from a burger with fries for about $20 to a steak special for $72. It's the sort of "elevated" food that's worth the occasional splurge: house-made ketchup for those fries, fresh herbs, and only the best local produce. The appetizers are generally a nice size for two before a meal, or for one as a snack with a drink. Entree portions are very generous, and slices of dessert are as well. The food is thoughtfully prepared from quality ingredients, though generally without strong flavors (I wouldn't mind a kick once in awhile!) On a recent visit we had polenta fritta, which was three crisped discs of tender polenta on a drizzle of Green Goddess dressing. We also had the whipped ricotta: a dollup of ricotta on the plate with a well of olive oil in the middle was served with lightly buttered grilled bread--too much oil/butter for me in this combination, but my dining companion loved it. For other visits we've had steak, chicken, burgers, bacon-wrapped meatload, and more--all winners! Brunch is a super popular with locals; get your name on the list early! The dining room downstairs is lovely. For a more laid-back experience, grab a stool at the bar upstairs or enjoy the welcoming patio. And service is top-notch (shout-out to Clint, who's always helpful and never misses a beat!) The liquor offerings aren't extensive, but there's a top-shelf and a mid-range bottle in most categories (a couple Scotches, vodkas, etc.) The cocktail menu includes standards plus more creative drinks. A few local craft options are on the beer list, along with the usual AB products. I'm not into wine but noted about 10 whites and 12 reds on the list. Finally, let's not forget Russell's bakery roots. When you enter, peer through the glass cases to see gorgeous layer cakes, pies, brownies, muffins, and much more. I never seem to have room for dessert after a Russell's meal, but taking home a sweet slice is a great choice!

Yelp
We visited this place on our last day in St Louis and everything was so good that my only regret is that we didn't visit sooner. The portions are so huge and everything tasted amazing and was cooked to perfection. I'm including pictures of everything. I will return the next time we're in town!

Yelp
The meatloaf here was sooo good and the portion was HUGE. I was able to take home a good amount of leftovers! Our server was so great and gave us time to decide what we wanted between the menu and the specials. Everything sounded so good, it was really hard to decide. We got a slice of espresso cake to take home which was incredible. I love the ambiance of this place. It was so cozy and eating a home cooked meal by the inside fireplace was top notch. Can't wait to try their brunch!

Yelp
I've been stopping in to get desserts mainly cake. The boys behind the counter are sweet, friendly, helpful, and professional. I love the atmosphere inside and it's really just a charming space. The choc cake slices and s'mores cake are one of my very favorite treats.

Yelp
Best quiche I have ever had. The French toast was different, in the best way possible. Steak was juicy and flavorful. Service was great, spot was cozy. I will be dreaming about this food tonight.

Yelp
Overall, a fantastic place for a good brunch with a lot of natural light to brighten your morning. WAIT TIME: We came for Sunday breakfast at 9am and were seated immediately. FOOD: I ordered the breakfast burrito with a side of fruit, my partner got the fried egg sandwich with a side of potatoes. The burrito was so delicious, and it was STUFFED with eggs and pork. You get a lot of food in that tortilla! The fruit was also so fresh and beautifully displayed. The fried egg sandwich was also excellent, and the potatoes... so crispy and perfect! Everything was a 10/10, you can't go wrong. We also checked out the bakery items at the end and shared a wonderful orange and vanilla turnover that was very buttery and flaky. SERVICE: Our server was very kind, she didn't come around too often but she did come by to refill our waters and coffees a few times. AMBIANCE: We were seated in the upstairs section and the sunlight coming in brightened up the place beautifully. It's a great space. PRICE: Dishes were each $16, which seems pretty on par with other brunch spots. And as mentioned, you get a lot of food in each plate. It is an up-charge (which our server did mention before choosing) to order a side of potatoes instead of fruit, but it was only $2.50 more so not bad.

James L.

Yelp
We've gone here twice in the last few weeks and this place definitely did not disappoint! Food is great, service is great, wait time ~30 minutes on the weekends. No day of reservations, but if you call the day before you can make a reservation for a seat! Highly recommend this. They have specials such as the crab burger which is fantastic. Their ketchup for their fries is made in house and the best ketchup I have ever had.
google avatar

Wanda H.

Yelp
One of the best brunches I've had in a while. The place seems reeeeally small when you first walk in, but somehow it doesn't give one a crowded feeling. I got the special that they offer when they have leftover crab, and it was DELICIOUS! My Bloody Mary was good. And the service was the BEST! Not an inexpensive place, but I felt everything was well worth the price asked. Thoroughly enjoyed our time and meal here.
google avatar

Shannon O.

Yelp
Whenever I go to Russell's I always want to try something new but I end up getting the bacon wrapped meatloaf. It's THAT good! The service is always nice and friendly. I love going here for date nights. If I'm going for brunch, my go to is the biscuits and gravy!
google avatar

Merry S.

Yelp
The patio ambiance in the spring was absolutely adorable, with vibrant, blossoming colors that made the whole setting feel extra charming. The food was delicious overall. My sausage bagel leaned more toward a burger vibe--with bagels as buns and a thicker patty, rather than a traditional breakfast sausage style. It was a bit on the dry side, and I wasn't sure if customization was an option, as none was offered. The giant cinnamon roll, though, was a showstopper--massive, fun to share, and definitely eye-worthy! The drink menu sounded amazing, though I didn't get a chance to try any this time. I'll definitely be back to explore more of the menu!

Yelp
I'm genuinely excited to give them 5/5. Food was fire, atmosphere was intimate and cozy, and service was attentive. First of all, the food was so good! We went for brunch and got the cinnamon roll, the Lola jeans breakfast sandwich, and the breakfast burrito. The cinnamon roll was crispy on the outside and gooey on the inside! Honestly, the perfect balance. The burrito had pork shoulder and jalapeños. I was skeptical at first but the flavor profile was amazing. My partner had the breakfast sandwich and simply described it as a perfect, fluffy balance of bread, egg, and bacon. What made both delectable was the jalapeño aioli sauce! Although the space was on the smaller side, I really enjoyed the cozy feel of the fire place and fresh flowers. Honestly, this was a pleasant surprise. The service was also fantastic. We walked in without a reservation and we were sat immediately. We did sit at a shared table but the flower arrangement gave us some privacy. Also, our server was attentive and incredibly kind. If you're looking for a quick bite or a more refined dining experience, I highly highly recommend.

Ryan R.

Yelp
It appears the restaurant is very small but there is a second level and a patio (covered in the winter). There is a cool little bakery on the first floor. Maggie was our server and she is the type of server who makes the experience. She gave us complimentary bites of the gooey butter cake, very delicious. The food was awesome! I got the breakfast burger with fries (definitely upgrade to the fries). Maggie said the ketchup is made in house and it was a good switch up from store bought ketchup. My wife had the fried egg sandwich. Both were very good. My wife ordered an iced vanilla latte, Maggie forgot about it but after we asked again she brought it and said it was on the house. For dessert we ordered the French toast. The bread had grill marks and had a crunch on the outside but soft on the inside. Maggie suggested we get a kids portion (2 pieces compared to 4) which was the perfect amount. Maggie needs a raise!

Yelp
Russell's on Macklin is such a staple. It has a cozy and relaxed ambiance with a fireplace offering locally sourced American cuisine. Located in the Southampton neighborhood of St. Louis, it's a family-run restaurant that prides itself on warm hospitality and mouthwatering dishes reminiscent of home-cooked meals. From their homestyle cooking to freshly baked goods, Russell's on Macklin caters to both the brunch & dinner crowds. The menu features elevated versions of classic American favorites, highlighting the best seasonal ingredients available. I had the broccolini salad and lump crab cake. Both were delicious. I also shared in the cheeseboard. Don't forget to indulge in their tempting gooey butter cake.
google avatar

Jensen W.

Yelp
Delicious!!!! First, we started off with this delicious & huge cheese board then moved to entrees. I had the broccolini charred salad & it was great! Lastly, ending it off with their famous OG Gooey Butter Cake, chefs kiss! Amazing! Our waitress was super sweet, attentive & on it! The fire they had going was so nice for a cold night inside their restaurant. I loved this little spot. It's so intimate & I would definitely come back. Make sure to check out their bakery full of sweets- I guarantee you'll find SOMETHING.

Yelp
Went here to celebrate a friend's birthday and sat upstairs. The restaurant is on the smaller size but feels very cozy. I got the report back cocktail and it tasted very similar to a less-sweet margarita which I enjoyed. We shared the cheese puffs and special flatbread to start, which were both hits. I got the ricotta gnudi for my main which they were able to modify without bacon. The gnudi lacked flavor and seasoning, and the dish needed a sauce or broth as it was a bit dry, but I loved the pickled jalapeños in it (pretty spicy). The portion size is big and makes the price reasonable. I tried bites of my friends' desserts including the chocolate cake, carrot cake, and blueberry lemon cheesecake (my favorite). Our server was great and we never felt rushed, we probably spent a good 2.5 hours there chatting and enjoying the food and drink.

Yelp
After reading the reviews I had to come here on a trip to St. Louis. And now I understand why people love this place. The brunch is amazing and the biscuits and cinnamon roll were two highlights. And I had to get a gooey butter cake to go which was incredible.

Yelp
My husband and I stopped in for brunch. We wanted to eat outside, but I opted to eat at the bar so there wasn't a wait. The bartender was fantastic. We started off with bloody Mary's, they were perfect. My husband ordered the roast beef and white cheddar, he absolutely loved it, so I had a bite, and I agree with him. I ordered the quiche of the day with the salad and a side of the fried potatoes with their homemade ketchup. It was the best quiche I've ever had! The salad was OK, but the potatoes were fantastically crispy and the homemade ketchup was the perfect touch. It was busy at brunch on a Sunday, I was surprised that our food came out in quite a timely manner. We felt a little guilty about eating without our kids, so when we went downstairs to the desert case and we picked up a gluten-free chocolate torte, German chocolate cheesecake, chocolate chip cookie, snickerdoodle cookie, and the chocolate chip gooey butter cake. It was the last piece of gooey butter cake so I think maybe that's why it was dried out but everything else was absolutely delectable. It has an upscale small town feel. I can't wait to go back and sit on the patio, it looked very inviting!

Yelp
This evening we decided to walk to Clemintine's Ice creamery for desert . As we walked we decided to go and see if Russell's had a table for us. Woo hoo a table was available for the 2 of us right away. . I had the gnocchi- with oyster and crimini mushrooms, heirloom carrots, white wine and butter pan sauce in aged sherry vinegar. My spouse had the baked ricotta with orange marmalade, red onions and grilled toast. She tried to get the gnocchi but the sauce already had garlic in the prepared sauce. That was the only option other than a Macklind burger but that was not what she wanted tonight. The gnocchi was tender the carrots crisp and the sauce with the walnuts and aged sherry vinegar had a nutty somewhat sweet flavor. I checked in on Facebook and later this evening Russell's Ping thanked me for stopping by. Nice touch Mr. Ping. It is appreciated. Do not pass up Russell's you will not regret it. Outdoor patio is worth the wait this spring. By the way we did stop at Clemintine's for desert tomorrow.

Yelp
Before I expand on this review, know that this review can be summarized with one word, disaster. Once we arrived at the time of our reservation, we were seated at a disappointedly cold spot inside the restaurant. After we were moved to an outside table, our waiter wasn't to be seen for almost 10 minutes. Once he finally approached our table, he didn't even greet us and rudely asked "what do you want to drink?" After another ridiculous wait for our drinks, which never arrived, we decided to leave. If you desire a disappointing dinner experience, then go to Russell's. Side note: We were also disappointed that the online menu did not match the menu we received at the restaurant.

Yelp
I've been to a lot of breakfast/brunch spots around St. Louis and this might take the cake as the best. My table shared the cinnamon roll (sorry not pictured) but is to die for! I then ordered the breakfast burrito and. . . wow! I'll definitely be back.

Yelp
First time at this restaurant. They don't have a parking lot so it's all street parking. I ordered their quiche special with fresh fruit. The quiche was made with onions, bacon and spinach. The quiche was thick which was nice. It was cooked nicely all the way through and the top and crust wasn't burnt. Their gooeyness was more like a custard and it wasn't over the top sugary sweet. Our waitress gave us excellent service. We sat in a room with 4-5 portable heaters. The room was an enclosed deck, you could see the ground through the boards on the floor. It was freezing outside so during cold weather the room had pockets of very cold and very warm.

Yelp
Delicious brunch. Everything was fresh, service was friendly but not fast, they were really busy and we were not in a hurry so not a huge issue.

Yelp
I came back for dinner. This place is just the best. From the caprese starter to my table's entree's (pork chop & burger) to the coconut cake I took home, everything was delectable. The service stands out as everyone is knowledgeable about the menu & genuinely kind. They manage to make this establishment even warmer & more welcoming. Russell's keeps shining and I will keep coming back!!

Yelp
Always a lovely time at Russell's. The ambiance is lovely, the menu is delicious, and I love getting a treat from the bakery to go for later. Just make sure you book your reservation 1-2 weeks out! They are popular so they fill up quickly!

Yelp
I go to the Russell's in Fenton often so I was expecting this location to have a similar menu. The menu and atmosphere were different but in a good way. My mom and I sat at the bar upstairs. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive. I got the roast beef and white cheddar sandwich. The sandwich was enormous. My mom went with the quiche and it looked delicious. We stopped by the bakery on our way out. All the desserts looked amazing. I will definitely be back.

Yelp
We've been here a couple of times for dinner and I've been impressed every visit. The last visit though stuck out to me the most because we tried these things called cheese puffs for an appetizer and I thought I had died and went to (pastry?) heaven. They were delivered to our table hot, fluffy, light, cheesy, and so delicious. They were served with house catsup but to be honest, there's no condiments required with these lovely things. I'm not sure if they were biscuits or some type of pastry but they were excellent. I had their lobster pot pie that very same night, too. By the end of the night, I could only say that the whole experience was (chef's kiss) fantastic! My husband had their meat loaf and he loved it. Of course, you can't come here and not get dessert! The selection is huge. I had an espresso-ey cake but only ate a few bites and took the rest home to devour at midnight. I've talked so much about the food but what about the ambience? Their there is an indoor dining as well as outdoor/patio. Perfect for these lovely summer days, no? The inside is beautiful and bright. Let's not forget the lovely staff. We've always felt welcomed during our visits. Everyone's been so great and accommodating. What more could you ask for? If you haven't yet, you should definitely come check out Russell's on Macklind!

Yelp
Russell's has one of the best patios in St. Louis City. Tucked in a neighborhood setting, there is minimal road noise, lots of shade and great vibes. We just visited for breakfast. They already have heaters everywhere on the patio putting out warm air, blankets on the backs of chairs just in case, and service is quick! We had a massive BLATE (bacon, lettuce, avocado, tomato, egg) sandwich and breakfast burrito (braised pork shoulder, eggs, white cheddar & picked green chiles).

Yelp
Great brunch @ Russell's ! The cinnamon roll is a must try. And it's huge!!!! The portion sizes are very generous, probably could have shared the BLATE. Everything was fresh and the menu had lots of variety. Definitely excited to go back and try some other dishes. Cute, clean restaurant. Indoor, outdoor, and covered patio seating. Friendly staff and the bakery items are all so tasty. I especially love the cupcakes and brownies. We went on a sunday around 10:30 without a reservation, the wait was 30 minutes but we expected it so didn't bother us.

Yelp
Russels has been on my list to try for a long time. We decided to hit up Russels for dinner. For starters, we had the Crab cakes and the Flatbread. The crab cakes were crunchy and cooked to perfection. The flatbread of the day was a pesto flatbread. For our entree, we had the special of the day - the pork loin wrapped in bacon. It came with a side of green beans and mushrooms. They change up their menu based on the season. They had good seasonal cocktails. For dessert, they have a wide variety of cakes to choose from. They have lovely patio seating which is perfect for the summer. Looking forward to trying their brunch menu.

Yelp
Really disappointed. Got cinnamon rolls for a special treat for a friend. The price has gone up after tax it's gonna run you about $18 each. They were dry, like extremely dry. The icing was very good. This place used to be the place to go for these rolls. They need to lower the price!
