First time my husband and I have dined here since restaurant switched over from Cajun cuisine. Inviting atmosphere from Hostess to our amazing waitress Rachel. Everything Rachel recommended from appetizer to entrees and dessert were delicious. Rachel went up and above to ensure all our questions were answered. We have not had service like this in years. Very refreshing. The manager also ensured we enjoyed our dinner. Thank you for a wonderful evening!

My second time at Oro and it was amazing! The ambiance is unmatched with gold Hollywood glam feels, the service is superb.. upon checking in, we were immediately assisted and sat for our reservation. We got Amelia as our server and she was a gem. Checking in on us at all the appropriate times and making sure we always had what we needed. I love a long dinner where we can enjoy drinks and apps before moving on to entrees and dessert and Amelia really made this happen. I was celebrating my Birthday and can't recommend this place enough!

Great spot here close to the Hyatt. High quality food. High quality service. Our server was Drew. Serving runs in his blood. This man was timely. Courteous. Kind. Witty. AND he was handsome. His menu recommendations? Excellent. His water refill timing? Exquisite. This world would be better with more Drews. Come to Oro for the fantastic food, stay for the hospitality of Drew.

Chef Paul prepared one of the most amazing meals I’ve ever had the pleasure of enjoying .His Burrata appetizer was unique and Arthur Ave. NYC worthy. The broccolini dish combined tender spears with a judicious amount of heat. The lamb shank melts in your mouth and was dressed in a simple but elegant red sauce. And if you love gregarious, knowledgeable bartenders, Spencer makes the evening even more enjoyable.

Oro was an exceptional experience for my wife and me from start to finish. The service stood out immediately—from the warm welcome at the entrance to being seated comfortably. Our server, Spencer, delivered outstanding service with engaging conversation and impressive menu knowledge, making our dining experience even more enjoyable. oro had a cute vibe. drinks were very good. Drew out server was AMAZING. it’s like he knew i was undecided and knew exactly what to recommend, i got the branzino and it was delicious. Drew had the perfect recommendations, will definitely have to come back

My boyfriend surprised me with dinner here for my birthday last week, and everything about the night was wonderful. Drew was our server and he had got to be the best server we’ve been lucky enough to have in a long time, he definitely made our evening memorable and perfect! Thanks Drew!

ambience 10 it was a little loud. I would give that a five because we couldn't hear each other because of echo food I would give an eight Clean. 10. Service. 10 I would definitely go back on a Friday and Saturday night.

Have been twice now since open -- first time was seated in the middle behind a big table and could not hear the people I was with. Second time I was at a booth in the back and did not have this problem! Servers were very informative, kind and paced food well.

It was date night and I've been hearing so many good things of this place, so I took my chance and chose this place. Made a reservation thought their Instagram page and they have many different available times. As we arrived, we were greeted by the hostess. She had us sit in their little waiting area (since we arrived a bit early) and meanwhile we admired the place. The place is nicely decorated in a minimal, yet elegant way ( with lots of gold accents, hence the name). They have a gorgeous bar inside, and it looked like and adjacent bar outside. The time came to sit on our table and we got greeted by our very profesional, and attentive server (if only I could remember her name, maybe Rachel). She gave excellent service. Onto the yummy part: To start we got the burrata with green Pueblo Chile and some focaccia. The bread was tasty the burrata was good but nothing out of this world. As a main dish I got the risotto and that was sooo sooo good. My partner got the Branzino (whole fish from head to tail, but they remove the spine) he said it was really good. I dared him to eat the eyes but he couldn't do it (can't blame him, it looked fishy ). And as a grand finale we went for the tiramisu. This was the only dish that I didn't enjoy the presentation, but don't let that fool you. This has probably been one of the best tiramisu I've ever tried (chefs kiss). Oh how can I forget the cocktails we ordered. I had the Fleur de Lis and it was refreshing and bold. He had the Fumo Rosso, a mezcal based smoky deliciousness. This place has made it to my list of favorite places to visit and recommend!

Pros: Nice, enticing Italian-inspired menu. Décor is sleek and inviting. Service was fine, efficient. Cons: We ordered the 1/2 roasted chicken and the spring risotto. The chicken was dry and the green sauce was sour/tangy. Tasted like it had too much vinegar in it. The risotto was pricey for being a vegetarian dish with not much in it. Also, it was relatively bland -- a little salt would have gone a long way. The focaccia bread with basil butter was good, as was the arancini appetizer. No complaints here. The wine menu for glasses could be more extensive. Overall: it was OK. I'm a foodie from LA and have traveled the world for food. This place didn't blow me away.

After discussion and debate over what to try while in town, we settled on Italian at Oro. Made a reservation for a relatively large party (8). We arrived and we're promptly seated. We started off with a bottle of wine, and were recommended one based on the profile I was looking for. It was called Nebbiolo, and it was exactly what we were looking for! I was feeling pasta that night, so I tried the Spaghetti Aglio e Olio and it hit the spot. Pasta was cooked perfectly, and it seemed like one of their lighter dishes. We also had the spaghetti and meatballs, among other things and we enjoyed all dishes. Would definitely recommend Oro, you'll probably want to make a reservation to ensure a spot.

Amazing new Italian restaurant in town! We went for our anniversary dinner and are glad we did. The service was very good, there was a mistake with our order but it was rectified quickly and we only waited a few minutes for our entree to arrive. Food wise it's delicious. Some highlights were the bison carpaccio so thinly sliced and flavorful with everything else. There's a hint of spice with it that adds to its depth. I think my favorite dish of the night was definitely the pappardelle pasta with lamb ragu. It is AMAZING!! Enough said. The arancini were also some of the best I've ever had. Grilled broccolini was pretty good though it lacked a bit of salt and acid. I'd say if you're looking for a great Italian spot with a nice ambience this is it. Prices are a bit high but not like insane.

Showed up for our reservation 10 minutes early and we're told there is a wait and that there were 5 people ahead of us. Reservation felt more like a normal waitlist. Focaccia bread and basil butter was delicious. My husband got a seafood pasta and I had the linguine tricolore which were both great however mine was not hot at all. When making the reservation my husband noted it was my birthday and the server acknowledged it while seating us and told us we would get a dessert afterwords but once we finished eating he just brought us the check and no dessert. The table that was seated about 10-15 minutes after us and ordered at the same time got there food about 15 minutes before us. Lots of waiting while here.

We had a lovely dinner at Oro celebrating a birthday. It is the new Italian restaurant that has opened in the space previously occupied by Springs Orleans downtown next to the Mining Exchange. The dining room is comfortable and aesthetic. We enjoyed all the food. Pictured- Linguine Tricolore, Spaghetti and Meatballs, Gigante Beans, Asparagus and Arugula, Housemade Gelato and Pizzelle, and Limoncellos. We also enjoyed the Burrata & Pueblo Peppers and Olives for an appetizer. A little pricey- as could be expected, but the meal, to include the service, delivers a dinner experience that compliments.

This is a very nicely designed space, just adjacent to the Mining Exchange. Very light. Open, so noise does carry when the restaurant is busy, so keep that in mind. Had the bison carpaccio and it was delish. Also tried the chicken (flavorful with these tiny little peppers) and the lamb shank. Finished with tiramisu- very creamy. The service by Spencer was stellar. We'll be back!

Much like others have said, it was mixed bag but there were some standout dishes. Pros: The ambiance is stunning. The decor is truly gorgeous. The bison carpaccio, arancini, lamb parpadelle, and tiramisu were phenomenal. Best arancini and tiramisu I've ever had. Concerns: Like others have said, at this price point, it's just weird that the pacing was so off. We got pushed into ordering apps before we could even get drinks, and we had to flag down someone else to order cocktails after we had been there for at least 20 minutes. Had to flag down someone else to get wine because our waiter (who was super nice and friendly) was busy sweeping and cleaning other tables to pay attention to us and realize our drinks were empty for quite some time. Food notes-The carpaccio, despite being amazing, really needs to come with some little toasts or something like that. I kept hearing that the focaccia is awful so if you get the burrata or carpaccio, there's nothing decent to accompany it. My chicken was actually suuuuuper good, but it's bizarre because it doesn't come with a starch. It's just half a chicken and some peppers. The sauce was really acidic and super tasty, but it literally looks like sewage. Super unappealing looking plate which is weird because the other dishes were gorgeous.

I'd start out by saying there are a lot of 5 star reviews for Oro. I know I'm a tough reviewer, but the at the price point, staff knowledge and food this is not a five star experience. It's fine but not at the level of del lago (broadmoor) or casano (north springs). It was ok but not outstanding. While I'm still bummed with the loss of Springs Orleans (I think we now don't have anything similar?)... anyway 4 of us were excited to check it out. The did I nice remodel. Reminds me a little of the famous with the booths. We had reservations (made more than a week earlier). The hostess first led me to a table right in line with the hallway to the kitchen and restrooms (while there were many open booths elsewhere. I said no and we got a booth). I first think they should keep the less desirable tables for walk-ins. Anyway got seated.. I had a martini as I beat the rest of the party. I saw alley mentioned in another review as a server. While she tried to be attentive, when we asked questions it seemed we had a bit of a language barrier. She was nice and attentive, when we pushed on questions it seemed difficult to get responses.i asked about the lamb ragu. It's described as with chili. I tried to get more info and that was a fail. I like heat, but was not in the mood for to much tonight. When it came it had some heat with chili oil showing on the plate, It would have been way to hot for my wife. Not so for me, but not something I was in the mood for..I was disappointed that our server was unable to articulate the spiciness. Others were OK with their plates not outstanding but OK. We had the focaccia appetizer. it was OK. Two good sized triangles of focaccia it was OK but just not exceptional and I love fresh bread/focaccia I like Italian wines a lot, so I was excited about the menu. But the menu is confusing. If you don't know Italian wise, it would be very confusing (I think) for me even some of it was confusing and the server could not clarify, so I asked for the som. A person came who was not really a som, but the beverage rep or something like that. She was helpful and explained the confusion part of the menu. She also acknowledged that it was not clear overall I ended up disappointed with the menu because of that. (I saw something that I thought would be really fun turned out it was not really part of the menu/wine list) So with four people two bottles of wine two cocktails something over $400 a high price point for not bad but OK But as I have said before if you got this far in my review, you get five stars!

We had a mixed experience at Oro. Going into it, I knew to expect some service hiccups as I had read other reviews. I am here to report that they are 100% correct. Here's what Oro did well, could improve, and failed miserably at. The good: The ambiance was spot on. Upscale decor, not too loud or dark inside, and friendly staff. I was impressed when we walked in. The food was also delicious. We had some olives to start, then pasta bolognese, branzino, and spicy broccolini with Calabrian chilies. The broccolini was the star, I don't understand how it was seasoned so well! The branzino was also phenomenal (one of the best I've ever had), and the bolognese was spot on. The olives were slightly warmed and a great salty snack to start us off. The bad: As others have noted, the pacing is way off. Things happened too fast, then too slow. For example, we wanted to order a second round of drinks to pair with our dinner but our server was rushing around covering too many tasks. When we finally got his attention to bring us a menu, it was again another few minutes before he returned to order. By the time we got our drinks we had already received our main course. Also he absent mindedly took my wife's wine from the first round before she was done with it. We only realized because he set it at the bar across from our table and we could see a few sips left. Oro has to work on their pacing, it matches the vibe of a Chili's more than a "fine dining establishment" as the hotel next door calls them. The ugly: The broccolini (a dish that was labeled as GF on the menu and was noted for a gluten allergy by our server), came to our table with panko breadcrumbs on it. Again it took me a few minutes to get the attention of our server, who then took a few minutes to identify the issue with the kitchen, who then took another few minutes to bring out a replacement. We were halfway done with our main course when the fixed dish came out. The explanation for the panko was a "last minute" addition by the kitchen. If the dish had not been marked as GF on the menu, I would have understood, but that's not something to mess around with. The staff were very apologetic, however they did not comp the dish. I don't expect that these days, but it would have been nice and in keeping with their "fine dining" image. Overall I would recommend you wait on this restaurant for at least six months. Let them work out the kinks, then come back.

ORO REVIEW: We decided to try this for our Anniversary dinner! The whole experience was AWFUL. Drinks: I got the saffron martini. OMG. might aswell have chewed up some saffron strands. It was BAD. I sent it back after trying to add pineapple juice it was still disgusting. Appetizers: The breadsticks are crackers, the foccasia would have been ok if it wasn't burnt. Entrees: I specifically asked about the ricotta on the Tricolor pasta if it was cooked on the pasta. Is it Hot? Server said it was.. (It's not) Hubby ordered the 20oz porterhouse med rare. Unfortunately it was maybe 12oz and well done. Sides: Asperagus and Arugula. RAW. Who eats raw Asperagus?? Manager comes apologizes. Sais let me get you dessert. We agree. Then comes back and sais So Sorry: Your only gonna be charged for your drinks and dessert?? Lol.. Waitress comes back with menus to get dessert order. Me: Your manager came and apologized and took All of our uneaten food back and offered us dessert, then came back and said we can just pay for drinks and desserts. Waitress: Well he took off an $80 steak... Wow just wow. (Hubby ate 3 bites!) Also I've never not left a tip. untill today!! But they decided I should pay for the Saffrontini that I took one sip of and sent back...

We had a wonderful birthday dinner here. We would give it 5 starts, but the veal isn't a 5 star dish. The rest of the food was incredible. The service was great and Alexander was fantastic. Loved it! Awesome ambiance, very nice interior. The food was delicious and amazing customer service. Unfortunately our party stayed till after their closing time, but they were still so polite

The service or the quality of food here does not match the price tag. My friend and I got there early and sat at the bar. The bartender passed us and had the opportunity to serve us many times and did not. I had to flag him down each time. There was only us and one other couple at the bar. They made us cash out at the bar before going to our table and that took about 10 mins for him to do that. Our server Alexandria was actually really great. The service was really slow and took a long time for food to come out. We got the scallop crostini appetizer and that was delicious. Best thing we ate all night. I got the risotto and added scallops. I was expecting the scallops to come on the risotto but I received it as a side dish with very thinly sliced seared scallops. Nothing like the appetizer. For the price I would have expected whole seared scallops. Even the waiter who brought our food (not Alexandria) said he didn't know what it was and it looks like fried potato hash browns. When our food was delivered we were not asked if we wanted Parmesan or pepper like any of the other tables at the restaurant. Very disappointing experience.

Our third time at Oro. It was very disappointing, embarrassingly so because we had invited a friend. The service was very slow, the food was not hot, and the preparation was the same as on our prior visits. The Ceaser salad was not fresh, the croutons and cheese were ground together and along with too much dressing was a soggy mess.

My husband and I came for dinner opening night -- we are relatively new transplants to downtown and were very excited to find out about Oro from a local interest instagram post. Happy to report that between the food, ambiance and service, this place can hold its own with Italian restaurants in larger cities. (Also impressive because I've been to some opening weekends at restaurants where there were still a lot of wrinkles being ironed out. Did not find that to be the case here. Seemed like the menu was a bit restricted from what is listed online but I imagine that will expand as they get rolling). We shared the endive salad, arancini, frutti di mare (seafood pasta), and tiramisu and would recommend any of them. The tiramisu had intense flavor and is one of the best I've ever had. Cocktails were great as well; I had a gin + prosecco + creme de violete drink that tasted akin to an herbal gin and tonic. We are both fans of amaro, and with information about two types of amaro that we enjoyed in the past and what we had ordered for dessert, the bartender nailed a recommendation for a completely different amaro we'd never tried before. To us, Oro is a welcome addition to the Springs. We'll be back to try more!

The food was amazing I got the fruit de mer and it was delicious definitely recommend. The service was amazing we had a great waiter and all around great service. And on top of all of that the atmosphere was great and it was an amazing restaurant.

Ally was our server and she was absolutely fantastic! The grissini and pecorino whip was fabulous as was the Linguine Tricolore and Pappardelle Lamb Ragu! The ambiance was quiet, clean, and beautiful. 10/10 will definitely come back!

Such a beautiful restaurant! We had such a great evening here and the food was wonderful! Very flavorful and satisfying. The service was wonderful too, very nice and friendly. Would definitely recommend trying this place out and getting some of their fresh tiramisu!

Made a reservation online and the staff could not find it and got really rude about it. The staff treated us like garbage. Repeating that they had no tables available when there were several open tables and no one behind us. Tried to show them our email but she manager simply raised her voice repeating that there were no tables. Trashy

The ambiance and place itself is gorgeous. Service is excellent, server was quick and consistently checking in and making sure we had everything we needed. Staff from the host, server, to the bartenders were friendly and attentive! The food here however is pretty mediocre. We had ordered an item from appetizers, main course, and pasta. Price point is respectable for the ambiance of the place but for the flavor of the food we had, we could have gone to a different restaurant with better flavor for each plate we ordered. It didnt taste worth the price. Considering the place gives off a more high end feel to it, the food was just overall underwhelming.

A few bumps in the road for a new restaurant, and confusion. The servers were so nice though. The wine was expensive for what you got. Five ounces (for $18) in a huge glass was disappointing. Isn't it usually 6 or 9 ounce? The ambiance was nice, and decor was perfect. I get that it's more expensive to go out to eat these days, but they don't even give you free bread for your meal at Italian restaurant? Kinda strange

This place is incredible. Anything under 4 starts is someone with no tastebuds and thinks olive garden is the best Italian restaurant in the world.

The food was bland and the drink options were mediocre. Someone in our group was sick afterwards. Perhaps focus on washing the lettuce, making the food taste better and adding more drink interesting non alcoholic drink options ?

We have been told this place opened just three days ago, but WOW! Amazing food and amazing service. Everyone was so kind and friendly, and the decor and vibe is spot on. We will be back!
