The 21 Best Restaurants In Margate - London - The Infatuation

"Mannings is the seafood hut to head to in Margate. It’s parked up next to the Turner Contemporary and you want to order confidently. Owners of local seaside seafood huts are a particular type: jovial on the outside but with the piercing eyes of an unsatisfied seagull when it comes to bumbling out-of-towners. A crab sandwich (lemon, tiny squeeze of mayo, no leaves) is essential. As are a few oysters. We can never resist a little tub of prawns and marie rose sauce either. Pop a squat on the sea-facing wall." - jake missing, daisy meager, sinead cranna, rianne shlebak

Mannings Seafood Review - Margate - London - The Infatuation

"Every trip to the seaside should be marked by a visit to the local seafood shack. You know the ones, white hatches with a spread of just-caught oysters, prawns, cockles, whelks, plus the inevitable crab sandwich. Mannings is the one to head to in Margate. It’s parked up next to the Turner Contemporary, where you’ll see a polite queue of people trying not to be blown away by gale-force winds. You want to order confidently. Pop a squat on the sea-facing wall and you’ve got the perfect seaside snack. " - Jake Missing

Best Oysters in town, fresh and extremely cheap. Came back multiple times 🫶🏻 will be probably one of the places I will miss the most

Proper seaside fish bar. Oysters were great and cockles always good. It’s a go-to when in Margate.

I think the owner, salt of the earth type lady, thought I was a bit simple when I asked how one eats her food. I’m no seafood connoisseur but my kids like it and I was telling them how grandad used to sprinkle on plenty of vinegar and use a pin or toothpick to get the seafood out, so I asked my question with that in mind and the server looked at me, as I say like I’m a bit simple and said ‘you put it in your mouth and chew’, very funny and made my teen boys rather amused. Anyways I don’t think that kind of thing was on offer and everything was a kinda just use a fork fayre, I can’t stand this kinda food so I only let my kids have one thing between them (thinking they wouldn’t like it) and they absolutely loved it, anchovies in garlic oil (£4 a small tub), I wish I’d let them have one each now or one of the other items as it was one of the highlights of their Margate/Broadstairs visit. But it was raining so we moved on, we returned Monday and it was closed so that was it for them.

I got food poisoning. I couldn't sleep and ended up throwing up. I've spent all day running back to the toilet. I got the food late and I don't think they cycle the food, instead just leave it out the whole day. I chose this because of the many good reviews, I assume it's good if you're early but I can't risk it I feel terrible. The staff were friendly and it's a great location.

Yelp
Little seaside stall that sells a variety of seafood -- cold and some options for cooked. Family run since 1962! We had oysters and cooked mussels. They also sell prosecco if you fancy. There are a couple of tables by the stall or some benches along the parade if you want to sit with your seaside snack and enjoy the view

Yelp
Fresh from the tin seafood. But funny as a snack maybe ? The imitation lobster tail was a curiousity to me
