"It’s named for the emperor who built the last of Rome’s fora, and in fact it stands just outside the walls of the Forum of Nerva, a few streets up from the Colosseum. But don’t go expecting an Imperial Roman experience from the Nerva Boutique Hotel. It’s housed in an antique building — of recent vintage compared to the Forum, mind — but inside it’s coolly contemporary in that effortless Roman way, confidently indifferent to the antiqities that lie outside its walls." - Tablet Hotels

I can’t say enough good things about Hotel Nerva! From the moment I arrived, the staff was so warm and welcoming. It honestly felt like visiting family. They greeted me with thoughtful welcome gifts and a map, taking the time to point out nearby attractions and local spots to visit and helped with wine recommendations for a friend (even offered a gift bag!). Ilaria was especially helpful, answering my questions before I arrived and assisting me when I checked in. The location is outstanding, within a short walk to Trevi fountain, Spanish steps and the Colosseum. I even walked to the Vatican, though that was a bit farther away and most people would probably opt for taxi. The service throughout my stay was outstanding. Everyone went out of their way to help with whatever I needed, from calling taxis, to recommending great restaurants, and even bringing me a voltage converter after I tripped a breaker! My room was spotless, comfortable, and beautifully furnished. The food in the restaurant was excellent too; I only had a small breakfast, but it was fresh and delicious. The coffee was excellent! I absolutely loved my stay at Hotel Nerva and would come back in a heartbeat. If you’re visiting Rome and want a place that feels personal, caring, and truly special, this is it!

We recently spent seven nights at Nerva Boutique Hotel while visiting Rome and had a great experience. The hotel is located at the edge of the Monti neighborhood, only 5-10 minutes on foot from the Roman Forum and Colosseum and within walking distance of most major tourist attractions in the central city, as well as the Trastevere area. If you like to walk, this is an excellent place to stay.|The staff at the hotel are outstanding -- every single one extremely professional, helpful, and friendly. Breakfasts are delicious and very original with several options including fresh fruit, organic yogurt, granola, eggs, fresh baked bread and croissants, and others. |Our junior suite on the second floor didn't have a great view, but the nice aspect was that it was very quiet.|We definitely would stay here again.

Stayed in Room 206. As a New Yorker, I don’t flinch at small spaces—but the bathroom and room here were so tiny they actually made me miss NYC. The bed was fine for travel, but no window shades (a must-have). The light switches were next to the bed but awkwardly placed so you had to get up to use them when going to sleep or waking up. The outlet by the bed wasn’t ideal either—you’ll need a longer cord if you want to charge and use your phone in bed. The value didn’t feel right: I paid €400+ per night booking three weeks in advance, but now I see the same room listed around €250 for November if you book two months ahead. At €250, it would feel worth it. At €400+, definitely not. The one major plus is location—it’s super convenient for the Colosseum, which was the main reason I booked. On the bright side, the staff were fantastic—warm, professional, and they even let us check in early (huge win). Breakfast was decent, coffee good (not excellent), cocktails at the bar just okay. The free mini bar with Italian goodies was a delightful touch. Overall, 4 stars—the stellar staff and location carried the experience, but the price point and tiny room/bathroom setup didn’t quite deliver

Nerva Boutique delivers in so many ways - convenient (10min stroll to Colosseum), quiet, comfortable, and most importantly, welcoming and skillful staff. ||At check-in we knew a special experience was in store. We arrived early and were welcomed with a warm smile and direction to the Aurora Lounge. Our bags were stowed with no fuss. Attention to detail was everywhere, from room flowers to coffee table books to snacks - all contributing to the intimacy of this little gem. ||While the hustle and bustle was elsewhere, there was plenty of people-watching opportunity as the street is a major walking route up to Via Quattro Novembre. ||So many excellent staff - Alexa, Puglia, Roberto, Frederico, and a few more - made our stay a memorable one. Keep up the wonderful work at Nerva!

Beyond attentive and kind staff! Special shout out to Pouya, Ilaria, Federico, and Roberto. Everyone was helpful throughout our stay. The location is great - walkable to everything. This is for anyone wanting an authentic Rome experience at a luxury, boutique hotel.

Nerva Boutique Hotel is great! The location is perfect if you want to tour Rome city center and all of the ruins. Everything is within walking distance of the hotel. The hotel itself is very nice and all of the staff was great. They helped us arrange transportation from the airport to the hotel and also a private tour of many of the sites. It all worked out perfectly and everyone we encountered was wonderful. I highly suggest Nerva Boutique Hotel!

Google
We loved our stay at Nerva. The staff were so kind and the room was lovely. The bed was very comfortable in our opinion. We enjoyed the breakfast as well. The location is top tier and so close to so many things we wanted to see.

This is a great boutique hotel essentially located in Monte, which was really great because we walked everywhere and so starting here was fantastic because in One Direction was the Trevi fountain and another direction not far away is the Colosseum||But the reason why I loved it here it was because the staff they made the place amazing||When we got here, we were welcomed by Charlotte, who ran out to welcome us and greet us and also for everybody to come out and help us with our luggage. It was incredible.||The rest of the time we were here we were greeted by Roberto and IIaria. ||They took care of case service from the airport and too the port. They also secured reservations at restaurants that we couldn’t get. ||Great experience !

Yelp
Now this hotel has a little character with your arrival champagne. VS & Nerva Boutique Hotel might just be my Roman home. Adorable doesn't even begin to cover it. This place is in the heart of the Eternal City, steps away from ancient ruins and all the gelato stops. The design is cozy shabby chic, and every corner looks like it was made for a magazine spread. Loved my stay. Perfect for the solo traveler. They offered twin bed rooms.

Yelp
I booked at Hotel Nerva for six nights and I was very happy with this hotel: Rate - I booked a few weeks in advance on the hotels website. I was able to book the cash rate which provided an extra discount, but I did have to have a nice chuck of euros on hand when I checked-in, which turned out to be inconvenient. Transportation - I booked a car to/from the airport through the hotel which was $50 euros (2 euros more than the taxi flat fare) and I would recommend doing this if you are traveling with luggage like I was. If you are traveling light you can take the Leonardo Express train for much cheaper (8 euro) to Termini Station which is a 20 minute walk or 10 minute taxi to the hotel. Rooms - I booked the lowest category of room and I was very happy with the accommodation. The room was indeed very small, but this is typical for Europe. What I liked about the room (#201) was it was very clean and it had some nice design touches, and a charming view of a roman ally. I never heard other guests and found the hotel to be very peaceful. I thought the bed was going to be too firm but it turned out not to be; the pillows were too soft for my taste but this was solved by requesting extra pillows. Staff - Everyone at the hotel was so nice and welcoming. Roberto and Nicole in particular, but everyone was great. Neighborhood - I loved being so close to a lot of the ancient sites (Colosseo, Palatine Hill, Forum) but not being in a touristy area. Monti has nice restaurant, bars, and cafes very close to the hotel and other sites (Pantheon, Trastevere area, Testaccio Market) were only a 20-30 min walk. The only downside I can think of was that the safe in the room was small and did not fit my laptop.

Yelp
Stayed here on our last night before flying out from Rome. The hotel is within walking distance of the train station - about a 20 min walk. If you have a lot of luggage you'll want to take a taxi. The hotel is tucked away from the main road on the cobblestones but has a sign hanging in front. The hotel is centrally located to the Roma Forum and many other historical sites, all within walking distance. It's a great hotel if you want to stay in the central region of Rome. The rooms vary based on amenities. The one I was in had a small office space and overlooked the courtyard. The room itself was beautiful and had a lovely wood ceiling. The bathroom floor was granite and had a couple steps so definitely a little slippery when coming out of the shower. The shower itself is small but on par with most of the bathrooms in Italy. The customer service was fantastic. They helped us arrange a car to the airport the night before and let us know about fun places to check out. It was the best relaxing stay before heading home the next day.

Yelp
We needed a hotel in Rome for one night before our cruise. I checked Yelp and TA and Nerva had excellent reviews and a good location near the Roman Forum and central Rome. At 250 Euro a night including breakfast it was pretty well priced. The hotel is located on a small relatively quiet street which is directly behind the forum. They had a car pick us up from the airport for 50 Euro. The driver was waiting for us and drove us directly to the hotel which was very convenient and easy. We had reserved a deluxe room and were on the 2nd floor. Although the room was modern with wood floors and a beautiful wood ceiling it was extremely small. It said 200 sq feet but felt like half that. The bathroom was also very tiny with barely enough room to even walk. The wifi was really fast and the staff were all very friendly and helpful. They recommended a fantastic family run restaurant where we had a great dinner. They also had a nice tea service in the afternoon with several teas and a delicious ricotta cake and pastries. We did not care for the breakfast as others seemed to have. They have no hot items, only breads and meats and cheeses. Overall we enjoyed our stay as it was only for one night.

Yelp
We booked here based on a recommendation from Rick Steves Rome guide book, and we made a good choice! Nice location near the center of Ancient Rome -- the ruins are literally across the street (but it just looks like a wall from that side). We arrived late and were pleased to see a warm smiling face from Nicole at the check in desk, and she offered to make us sandwiches to calm our hunger when we said we were too tired from our long travel day to go out to eat that night. The room was very nice (but small) and well appointed. We stayed 3 nights in early March. Would stay here again.

Yelp
We stayed for just one night after arriving in Rome, before we set out for other locations in Italy. We had requested an early check-in, which the staff was able to accommodate - much appreciated! Everyone we met with at this hotel was helpful and friendly. Breakfast was quite large and high quality. The woman serving breakfast was so pleasant and delightful! Our room and bathroom were both very nice - the hotel appeared to be recently updated. The bathroom was a bit small, but this is common in Rome. The location was absolutely fantastic. We were about 5-7 minute walk to the Colosseum, metro, several restaurants and bars and other sites. I will absolutely stay here next time in Rome and highly recommend!

Yelp
My stay at Nerva was one of the best experiences I've had. The staff couldn't be nicer, the hotel is clean and tidy, smells amazing, close to a number of places to dine, great breakfast, great mid-day snack, air conditioned, cute rooms (very small). I can't say enough. Stay there, you won't be sorry.

Yelp
I booked our room last minute as we arrived to Rome via bus on hotel tonight and could not be anymore pleased. Traveling all of Italy was difficult and frustrating enough not knowing the language but I felt right at home when I arrived here. They are so well mannered and detail oriented, helping us book trains and showing us where to go at the reception desk. Fernando was so helpful, thank you guys so much for making Rome such a lovely experience for us. If you guys go to Rome I highly recommend this hotel....beautiful and spacious rooms, perfect location, great breakfast and overall 5 stars. Amazing job guys!

Yelp
We booked a room here on a whim and it was lovely. The bed was pretty hard but the pillows and sheets were soft. The staff were very responsive and kind. I believe this is the best location for first-time tourists in Rome. The ruins and colosseum are just minutes from this hotel. The only reason I did not give this 5 stars was because our bathroom had a very undesirable smell, somewhat like mildew. We could not figure out where it was coming from but we just kept the door closed. Other than that, very nice hotel.

Yelp
Very friendly staff. Good quality breakfast at 10 euro per person. Sally was the highlight of the staff and so friendly. However we rented the suite at 400 dollars a night (converted from euro) and it was my wort disappointment from hundreds of hotels in more than 15 countries. The suite was a closet in comparison to the term of what a suite is. A average room with a steep stairs to a loft space. Under the couch was mouse droppings and the beige carpet was very dingy and nasty. Didn't expect a 5 star room but also didn't expect a motel quality room. Never waste you money on their suites. Stay anywhere else and taxi in if you want a real suite experience.

Yelp
We only got to stay here one night as we were on the last part of our trip but wished we could have stayed longer! The hotel is very quaint and comfortable recently remodeled and the staff were so amazing! Very helpful, knowledgeable, and nice. We would highly recommend staying here and we look forward to hopefully staying again in the future!

Yelp
I cannot say enough good things about the Nerva Boutique Hotel. From the moment we arrived we felt welcomed. The front desk person, Nimal, offered us cool drinks after a long journey and then proceeded to provide us with a list of restaurants in the area and around the city. After having some trouble making a reservations somewhere else because we do not speak Italian, Nimal was kind enough to contact the other hotel and to make the arrangements and get us a great rate. The rest of the staff and manager were lovely as well. In addition, we had a double room with two beds. Not only did we get two beds, but two bathroomsl! The room is tastefully appointed, very clean, modern and inviting with good storage and a mini fridge. The location is great if you are interested in seeing the ruins of Rome as it is near the Forum and Coliseum. We will definitely stay here again the next time we are in Rome. The Nerva is a little hidden gem and a true pleasure.

Yelp
Our two night stay in Rome was made such a pleasant experience by every staff member. All the lovely gentlemen behind the front desk were extraordinarily helpful, and every morning we were greeted with a delicious breakfast served by hotel staff that kept insisting on giving us more food than we could finish. Almost felt like being at our grandmother's place. The rooms were on the smaller side, but this is Roma. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Best boutique hotel!!! Clean rooms great service. Very helpful. Make reservations early.

Yelp
We loved our three nights here. The people working in this hotel are amazing: professional, knowledgeable, helpful, relaxed and just so wonderfully kind and friendly. Our rooms were tiny (we had a small double for the two adults plus a mini suite for our three children) and beautiful. The continental breakfast with Sally at the helm is a real highlight. The location is perfect. We loved the Nerva - what a memorable and wonderful stay. Thank you so much to Patrick, Fernando, Sally, and every other lovely person who made our stay so memorable.
