A chef-owned, white-tablecloth throwback where veal, carbonara, and nightly specials anchor an intimate dining room. Regularly recommended by locals and open for dinner most nights, it’s a polished alternative for old-school Italian and hand-picked wines.

Best Italian Food in Bakersfield. Fresh made pasta. Fantastic Spaghetti and Meatballs. Our favorite for date night. Just around the corner from Frugatti's (also good) but more romantic and cozy.

Little Italy is our favorite “date night” restaurant. Owner, Chang and his staff always deliver a 5-star meal and extraordinary service. I usually order the chicken francaise, but I tried the halibut last visit and absolutely loved it. The location appears underwhelming in a strip mall, but once you step inside, you will feel like a VIP. My wife also highly recommends the lemon drop martini.

First time trying this place. It was actually pretty good. A friend recommended while visiting family. I will say that I personally have had better fettuccine but my mom ordered it and liked it so that's what matters. The Greek salad was really a spinach salad as there was literally ONE olive and as shown those 3 little pieces of feta. The waiter brought out a small cup of olives which was nice. The little round things in the picture are fried mozzarella with marinara sauce. Very good! The pork chop was so tender and seasoned just right! It wasn't my order but I had to try it. It was sooooooooo good! I ordered the cheese manicotti. It was OK. The edges were a bit hard like it was under or overcooked. The waiter was terrific. Super attentive, friendly. I can't remember his name for the life of me but it was different. They only open for dinner and I think you have to make a reservation. Good music, nice atmosphere. All in all we had a great time.

If Bakersfield has five star restaurants, Little Italy is among the tops! Foods, atmosphere and especially the service is top notch. We were served by Dakota, a very pleasurable young man with an emphasis on service. He took care of our every need. Foods were cooked to perfection and even the restrooms were spotless. On the way down the hall I was able to peek into the kitchen, again it was spotless and well organized. A big thanks here!

Atmosphere is nice for a quiet night out or even a larger party. Reservations are recommended. Service was decent and food was good but seemed to have too much salt or some spice that dominated the veal. Pasta has a mild flavored marinara that was not much better than a jar of ragu. I'm sure they have pent of other delicious items and their specials sounded good so don't be afraid to try something new.

This is an absolutely great restaurant. Food is unparalleled, service is excellent. Ask for the off menu appetizer.

We have eaten here quite a few times and really like it . I had lasagne which was very good. Wife had raviolis which were also very good. Glass of wine pretty good, good poor, fresh bottle etc. Prices are fair and portions are big. I do have a problem with one thing though. I ordered meat lasagna and when waiter took order I asked if it came with a red sauce and wife had same question about raviolis. Waiter indicated we could have plain red sauce or meat sauce. No where on menu or did waiter indicated there was an extra charge for meat sauce. We both chose meat sauce. When bill came out entrees were $22.00 each but there was a $10.95 additional charge for the sauce. We didn't complain and paid the bill but it would have been nice if somewhere it mentioned that having meat sauce on our meat lasagne was an extra charge. Somewhere on the menu it should have indicated it wasn't a choice but an extra charge. 2 entrees (least expensive dishes on menu) 1 glass of wine, 1 pellegrini water was $120.00 with tip. Not ridiculously over priced for portions served but kinda pricey for a couple of scoops of sauce. I Probobly would have opted out of them if it was indicated anywhere that there was an extra 50% for sauce. Just put it on the menu somewhere so the prices are more transparent. A little disappointing to say the least. Kinda leaves a bad taste in your mouth after an otherwise good experience. Will Probobly still go back but ask more questions.
