I have gone here now about six times for facials. Most recently I had a terrible experience AFTER my facial as the woman that did my facial was noticeably dissatisfied with the amount of tip money I gave her. So much so, that even though I have been coming there for months, spent hundreds on products over time and bought 3 different products today, as well as micro/ oxygen add ons... she treated me as if I owed her something MORE. She took the cash out of the envelope and counted it immediately, then checked the receipts to see if I had written in a tip amount. As I continued to ask questions about more products on the wall - which by the way I would have bought - she essentially ignored me preoccupied with the fact that she was expecting even more money. Honestly, these facials come with an extremely high price tag and every 4-6 weeks is a serious commitment and belief in their work. I don't know if I'll be going back because I truly felt an attitude that was absolutely un-necessary after spending thousands of dollars at this establishment over the course of my treatments. I was shocked, but there are many other reputable places that I can take my business to.

Amazing facial, Lulu is an angel, so sweet and talented. Clears up all of my acne and congested pores and last time even got rid of a nasty insect bite that was taking over my chin. Highly recommend!!

Not typically someone to leave a review on places but felt the need to support some of these other reviews about aggressive staff - I was coerced into an additional treatment and buying products after clearly communicating pushback and not wanting to spend more than my gift card and ended up spending over double what I wished to. The extractions were effective but genuinely so painful at certain points I almost asked to stop. I was left unattended for long periods of time at multiple points as well. My treatment was great and I was satisfied with the outcome for my skin but beware/know what you may be walking in to!

You might end up with a very upset staff that will take it on your skin if you don't take extra treatments or products they will push hard to sell during your visit, manager is or pretends to be fine with that. I know it sounds crazy, I couldn't believe either. I went once, initially for a facial only , but I end up accepting adding two more treatments they offered during my visit and buying some products. My bill end up been a few hundred dollars more of course. The second time I went, about 3 months after, I wanted to do only a facial, I was ready for them to be very pushy trying to make me buy treatments and products as the first time, but I wasn't ready for a very upset staff even threatening me saying that if I wouldn't do it , my facial would be "very painful and it will let me all swollen". I thought I was over reacting to the situation, she maybe thought I wasn't use to facials, I know you can be carefully pinched, or it could be a little painful since even when I don't have big problems with my skin, I have done a lot of treatments from acupuncture to laser, so I thought she meant "normal" swollen and painful probably, so we started. As soon as she cleaned my skin she started immediately pinching systematically and quickly my face with a needle, she didn't evaluated the skin before pinching me, I have very thick skin so i don't bleed even with micro needling, but I could feel the pinches were deep and my forehead started bleeding. I have no major acne, I felt it was too painful, too deep and because of the way she was talking (complaining) I could tell she was upset. I asked her to stop it ,just didn't felt right. She got up, all upset and said " I will call my manager" , like her manager will tell me off. In the meantime I stand up to get dress, and saw myself in the mirror with blood literally running from the pinches on my face. After talking to the manager, she offered a different assistant, and a treatment as a courtesy, the new assistant was Lulu, she was a sunshine and did a great job, i even added a treatment and bought products again. Later, the owner came to talk to me. I was very surprised that such an unethical attitude was supported by the owner saying that it was "normal" to have literally blood running though my forehead. Its been 3 days now, I did the best to take care of it, and still my face have all the marks that lady did in maybe a couple of minutes before I stop her, the other girl Lulu, worked through the rest of my face, neck and back, I didn't bleed or had any single mark from her work. I never had such a damage in any treatment I have done I will not go back if the owner supports such an unethical behavior.

Absolutely love it here!!! I have never had an esthetician pay so much attention to my skin and clean my face as well as they do. I have been going for about 6 months once every 3-4 weeks and it has helped my skin so much (better than any acne products have). I have horrible hormonal acne and always leave looking a little scary but within 3-4 days my skin always starts to clear up and look normal again. I will say the acne facial is quite painful but it is very worth it and and I would recommend this spa to anyone!

Love this place. I usually don’t break out but I was having some terrible break outs a couple of months ago. I made an appointment and hoped for the best. Wow I cannot tell you how my skin changed. Yes you leave here and you do have spots on your face but give it a chance. After three days my face was totally healed, clear, and glowing. People would not stop commenting on how great my face looked. I highly recommend.

I had a facial yesterday and it literally was the best facial I’ve ever had. I don’t remember the girls name that did mine but she from Pakistan, SHE WAS AMAZING!! She cleaned my skin and it feels glossy and beautiful! I highly recommend this spa.

I've been going to get my facials here for over a decade. The quality has only gotten better. My aesthetician takes her time and creates a relaxing experience. Even during those extensive extractions. I love that even though its an intense facial, I leave looking glowing with no swelling or redness. Now that I've moved to London, I make sure to always schedule my facial everytime I'm I'm town, which is at least once a year. If you're looking for an effective facial, and also a relaxing spa experience, definitely go here.

My technician was Coco and I had the glow facial ($140) and the green tea mask ($48) afterwards. When Coco was cleaning my skin she explained the additional services I could add to the facial and I chose the mask. The glow facial was great. Coco did a lot of extractions and they were not painful, just uncomfortable from the pressure. The green tea mask is very cold and it feels amazing after the glow facial. Coco shut off the light and left the room and I laid there relaxing with my mask on...Amazing. When I went downstairs to pay, Coco showed me the line of Christine Chin products that they have available for sale. I didn't but any but I also didn't feel pressured to buy, which I appreciated. All in all, a great experience. The location is clean, the price for the facial is fair, and Coco made my first time there a wonderful one. I will recommend this spa to my friends and will definitely be back in the future.

Really good experience and was able to get a skin tag remove without much pain. Would return. Had Lulu and she is so kind, skillful and professional. It's a pleasure even if extractions are slightly painful but thats unavoidable. Have tried their blemish gel, clay mask and now got their eye cream and facial sunscreen.

I've been coming to Christine Chin for 3 years now. Their facials are consistently the best! I love facials from Coco, she has great energy and is very thorough! I always trust they know what's best for my skin and I always leave feeling clean, glowy and refreshed!

I just left my first facial at Christine Chin and couldn't be happier. I was nervous after looking at Yelp reviews, but I was very impressed with the service and my skin looked so clean and hydrated when I left. Not a single blackhead in sight. Keuane did a great job with my Glow Facial. She explained each step along the way along with the benefits. She also asked about my skincare routine and helped me fill in the gaps at the store's shop (she recommended two products, both $32). During my facial she recommended a glycolic peel ($40) since I mentioned I have really dry skin, but she certainly didn't try to sneak in any expensive treatments, like some other reviewers suggested. She also explained the cost of everything before she started. Finally, as far as the extractions go, I didn't find them painful. The worst was a few pinches here and there when she had to go deeper and use a needle, but she explained all of this beforehand so it wasn't bad at all. I think extractions are just one of those services you either love or hate, but I thought she did a great job. Overall, I highly recommend this spa! It's well priced for NYC and the space was clean and relaxing. I also found the spa beds super comfortable. The ladies working there were very nice and accommodating -- I had to reschedule my appointment last minute due to covid and they were very helpful and understanding.

If you have darker skin do not go!! I went there last month and she burned off my skin and I have been having issues with really dry skin that won't heal for the last month and a half. Completely my messed up my skin. During the facial (with Mahi) I kept trying to tell her it was burning to a point I almost started crying and she would not listen. She actually laughed at one point and said I was cute. It's too harsh and without the ability to spot "redness" in darker skin she was unable to tell how badly she was messing up my face. She tried to say she understood because we were both "brown" but she is very fair and clearly doesn't understand the distinction of darker skin. I would avoid this place but also definitely avoid her!

Had exact same experience with Wendy as one of the reviewers from a year ago. She insisted I need microdermabrasion and a mask and made it sound like it would be a total cost of $180 as opposed to $120 for the facial. Was shocked to see my bill at the end. Duped big time. I'm sure the products are top notch but that was very sneaky and not appreciated.

Great laser skin treatment. Everyone at this location is very friendly and welcoming. I felt totally safe COVID wise. This was my first time getting a co2 laser treatment and I was a bit nervous. The staff were very attentive and the environment is very calming. They followed my treatment with a green tea mask to minimize any redness and an eye mask for just $24 more. A place in Nashville wanted to charge me $600 for just the laser, and Christine Chin's treatment gave me more for almost half that price in the middle of Mahattan.... I will be back!

I've been coming to this spa for 10 years or so. Results is always fantastic! The facials A++++. Highly recommend. I keep coming back.

Would never go back. My esthetician didn't even introduce herself upon arrival. Immediately she tried to upsell me to a service different from what I booked. I was told multiple times during my service how dull my skin was and how the products I use do not work. I understand the business of treatments and making suggestions to better treat skin, however the delivery and bedside manner of my esthetician was horrible. Making me feel bad multiple times. At one point she even laughed at me saying how dry my skin was. When my skin was sensitive during a portion of the service, she told me I was the only person ever to experience that. She pushed the spas products on me multiple times throughout my one hour session. My skin looked fine afterwards but I do not think it's worth the money to be treated this way.

I LOVE CHRISTINE CHIN SPA. i wish i could keep Coco to myself because she is my favorite human ever but she has saved my skin truly. I have been in acutane twice and still feel like my skin was never as good as since I've met Coco. They're products are also TO DIE FOR ! Love the blemish gel and their moisturizer. 10000/10 recommend.

Decent facials but I don't love how they push microdermabrasion and products on you - it's awkward and uncomfortable. You're already paying a fair amount for the facial, you shouldn't have to deal with saying no to multiple products as you're trying to check out. I also had a collagen mask put on me without being told it costs more. I found out when I paid. Also, I get home and see they haven't fully done extractions. They rush.

I had the worst experience of my life here. I had been going here regularly and spending lots of money here. I had the last appointment of the evening. When they put the "soothing" pink mask on me, it covered my eyes. I felt the presence of someone in the room. When I went to pay, my wallet was gone. No one was there but Christine, and 2 young men who seemed to be relatives. I had been robbed while the mask was on but Christine was only concerned about me paying my bill. She accused me of losing my wallet before I came, but I had paid for a cab right on the corner, and then had put my earrings in the change purse in the treatment room as I always did. I called the police, and she stonewalled the detective, refusing to speak to him. My husband had to come down and pick me up since I had no money. This happened a few years ago, so no Apple Pay either on phone. I saw someone posting from this awful ripoff operation just now which finally prompted me to write this review. I was so traumatized by this experience that I actually stopped getting facials. My skin is no worse for it, maybe even better. I've had multiple dermatologists tell me that if a facial feels good, do it, but that it won't make a big difference in your skin. Save yourself some money and avoid this place like the plague! I lost a favorite pair of earrings too. My credit cards were being used immediately after this horrible experience, not hours earlier as Christine suggested. Mean Christine indeed!

Coco was fantastic. A thorough facial which got all of the gunk out of my pores, I highly recommend

This was my first visit at Christine Chin Spa. The check-in was easy and effortless. Everyone greeted me at the door including Christine. My appointment was with Coco for a facial and peel. Coco was incredibly friendly, knowledgeable and funny! The facial was intense but very good- i left the office with a post quarantine glow. I can finally put 2020 behind me! I'll definitely be back.

Super overpriced and underwhelming facial that doesn't live up to the hype unless you're willing to shell out at least $300. I've had facials all over town - including at other celebrity favorites and renowned places like Tracie Martyn and Joanna Vargas - and can assure you that for $120 this is an exorbitant basic facial. You're much better off going to HeyDay or Face Haus and getting add-ons (that include microdermabrasion or glycolic peels) for the same price. My experience with the customer service was disappointing as well. They are very sneaky and inconsiderate about pushing additional (and EXPENSIVE) services onto your bill without you noticing. Wendy immediately suggested microdermabrasion (which costs $180, not a competitive price at all) and their glycolic peel/green tea mask combo (another $80) but did not disclose these prices. I had to ask how much it all would cost. That would've taken my bill from $120 to $380 before tip, for a facial that's not even with Christine Chin herself. Not to mention that without my knowledge, she started applying the glycolic mask on my skin before I'd confirmed whether or not I wanted it. Thank God I caught it in time and she removed it. Wendy was also pretty curt and unhelpful when I asked questions about my skin and regimen. My facial was extraction heavy, as most are there, and because I did not opt to pay extra for the glycolic peel and/or green tea facial, afterwards my skin was RED all over where she extracted breakouts. My skin has never looked that bad after a facial and that's not because I was particularly congested or acneic. The soothing mask she applied at the end was not on my face for nearly as long as it should have been considering how splotchy my face was after all of those deep extractions. Every other facial I've gotten has left me with soothing masks on for much longer so that my healing process isn't so brutal. Maybe they treat you differently if you pay for all the add-ons, but for a first-timer getting their signature facial, I felt that I was paying a lot for very little in return.

The reviews are interesting. I have been a long time patron of this spa and I just don't think this place is for everyone. Meaning that if this is your first foray into getting an in depth facial you will leave with a bruised ego. But once you have been around the block you will notice just how expertly done the facials including the extractions are done. Yes there is scabbing but there is no scarring. Yes it can be painful but for those of us with acneic skin discomfort is a small price to pay. Be a smart consumer, ask questions, ask how much things will cost and if you don't want something speak up. I save and budget accordingly because I have seen the results. I would suggest get a facial here and then go somewhere else and if you think that somewhere else is just as good then stay there lol I have a hard enough time getting appointments.

Echoing some of the previous comments that I wish I had read before going. This was the worst facial I've ever had. They're barely in the room, and when they are it's almost entirely for extractions that are extremely painful and almost assuredly bad for your skin. Apparently the only way to avoid crying in the room is to pay an extra $40 for a chemical peel to help numb your skin? And the only way to leave without looking like a bloody mess is to pay a further $40 to reduce the swelling? It was such a bad experience that I don't care if I have zero blemishes this time next week. 100% not worth it. Do not go here.

Before I was getting treatment the spa lady asked if I knew the price she repeated twice how much was going to cost and I was already upstairs in one of the rooms, this seemed off.. like maybe she thought I couldn't pay? Never ever experience that before at a spa.. Not planning on going back because they DOUBLE DIP on their wax services yuck!!!

My daughter went in for a facial that included extractions. She left with literal wounds in her face they claim it was normal... A week after, today her face is filled with new pimples. They refuse to acknowledge the damage done rather than a cure for an issue that was not serious but became so! We paid $350 for this awful experience. Before you go in find out exactly the outcome and healing process of their service. Awful!

This place does good work (Amy) but so over priced- It's really not worth going back. I was checking out when the owner came in and when the receptionist pointed her out I turned to say hi, she just blew right past me. I get I may not look like I have money, but trust I'm sure someone else will want my $700 for a facial. The two stars is purely for Amy (What was on her name tag)

Immediately when you walk into the spa you are enveloped in serenity and calmness. The space is beautiful and perfect for a spa setting. My temperature was checked and my shoes disinfected, I love seeing businesses take Covid precautions seriously. My esthetician, Anne, lead me into the room where I would be getting my facial done. I didn't know what to expect as this was my first facial EVER. I received the Glow facial as well as a micro-dermabrasion procedure. The price is quite hefty, but I can tell you it was absolutely worth it. Anne asked me about the issues I was having with my skin before we started, and while giving me the facial talked me through everything she was doing. I told her about my skin care routine and she helped me correct what I was doing wrong so I wouldn't need to come back to the spa too often. The extractions were my favourite part. Although it pinched a little, Anne completely cleared out all those bumps underneath my skin as well as cleaning out all my pores. After the facial and micro-dermabrasion, she suggested some products for me to use to update my skin care routine. I saw many people claiming that Anne, or another esthetician, were quite forceful in trying to sell Christine's products to them. I didn't find that at all. Overall a very good experience and I'll be back when the time comes!

I have acne prone skin and I like facials that do thorough extractions. If you're not into deep extractions or don't need it this isn't the place for you. I love their microdermabrasion my skin always comes out super soft. I've had microdermabrasion at other places that have left actual scars on my face. I don't have a favorite person here I just go knowing I can trust who I get. The one thing I don't love is the pushing of products. It's easy enough to say no thanks but it is a bit annoying. Other than that this is my favorite place to get a facial. It is pricey but it's your face and I truly believe you get what you pay for.

I have gone to Christine Chin spa for almost 3 years. At first I wasn't sure what to think. I was a little uncomfortable with them telling me how horrible my skin was and that it was imperative to return every 3 months. I was doing so for a year when I realized nothing had changed my skin. They keep trying to push their products and peels. And if you say no they make you feel bad. You go in thinking you're paying $120 and in the end the bill is $350. After all the times I've been there, the staff didn't even remember me. I treat patients and I build relationships with them. They treat you as a dollar sign and that's all. Not only that but it's actually quite painful and they don't ease up when you tell them too. I won't be returning.

I loved the facial although it was very painful. My face feels really smooth and cleaned after. But I must say they are way too pricy. I would not come back again personally, it was good but not worth the price.

Yesterday I had a facial with Wendy, she's really great but let forewarn you- you will leave with a way larger bill than anticipated!! (After reading other reviews I realized it's definitely their M.O) Originally I went in for a regular facial ($120), my skin is overall good; no break outs but on the dry side. Wendy convinced me to get microdermabrasion as well, little did I know it's an additional ($180) for an extra 20 min. She started out with steam and an exfoliating mask, then microdermabrasion, finally extractions. Her extractions were precise and intense, I thought she did a great job. She used the needle a lot, for all those people who aren't in to that- then she ain't for you! She then applied a couple masks and finished off with a green tea mask that was freezing to close off all pores. Today my skin feels very soft, clean, and the redness from the extractions went down. Verdict- I'm not so sure I would come back, the facial was pretty standard so the $340 plus tip ($390) was WAY overpriced. If this were some super trendy salon, I'd understand- but it isn't. I had facials at rescue spa which cost less! If you can afford the $400 every 5-6 weeks I would say definitely go!

Here's the bottom line: This place does not care about your business. If you're lucky enough to have a great experience there, you'll be fine. But if something goes wrong, as the other reviews attest, they will not attempt to make any amends, adjust your price, etc. Because they simply do not care about their customers' experiences. And I've been going there for years, so I know! When I first went to Christine Chin Spa, it was probably a decade ago (they were in their old location.) I saw Christine and she was actually very nice--complimentary about my eyebrows and not "mean" like her reputation. I also had a facial with her and my face looked like a war zone after. Yes, it's incredibly painful, but I was so impressed with how thorough her extractions were. I came back and tried a few of the other associates since she's so expensive. They were not as good as she was, but they were ok. I didn't live in New York at the time so I only went sporadically. Fast forward to me living nearby and deciding to see if CC should be my go-to to face care. First I went for a facial. No frills, no add ons. The woman I saw went on and on about how dry and bad my skin is, making lots of noises like the situation was dire. I'm sure I was dry--I always tend to be dry--but here's the thing: I have great skin. I never break out and people have commented on it since I was a teenager. (I never broke out then, either!) It's not flawless, but almost every other facialist I've been too will start off right away with, you're dry, I see some congestion, but overall you have great skin. And I pay a lot to a famous dermatologist to keep it that way! So her attempts to scare me into buying a bunch of their products or more facial add ons was not appreciated, but whatever. After the facial, I noticed there were still a lot of tiny blackheads she didn't get--the main reason I go get facials--and some of the pores she'd tried to clean she hadn't emptied out fully. The extraction had been really short, and I wasn't even complaining or squirming, so I guess she just got bored. I basically needed another facial, but from someone who knows what she's doing. Ok, no more facials there for me. But what about eyebrows? They probably won't mess that up, right? I think I saw Connie for eyebrows because the reviews here for her seemed positive, but I'm not 100% sure. I know I asked for someone named here, thinking that's the way to avoid problems. Anyway, I was late, for which I apologized profusely, but she saw me any way, which was nice. Or so I thought. She was so rushed that she dropped a huge glob of wax on the corner of my eye--on my eyelashes. She spent about 10 minutes trying to clean it up with some solution that really burned, a lot, and even then wax residue was left right against the base of my lashes and rim of my eye. Was there any price adjustment for this? Was the whole treatment complimentary, like it should have been? Of course not. I just left with my eye burning and her diagnosis, literally as I walked out the door: "your eyebrows could be better." She had *just* finished shaping them, and that's what she says? I know there is something of a language barrier at times And I know that you might be reading this review thinking I came in with totally destroyed brows. But my old eyebrow guy (in a different city) was well-established, incredibly sweet, and did a beautiful job. I got compliments on my eyebrows all the time, and I think he did make them a little thinner than I'd like the last time I saw him, but the shape was still great and the hair that's there is full. Connie wanted me to grow them out more, which is fine, but I can't magically deliver huge Brooke Shields eyebrows to her. She was just being rude. This place isn't worth the gamble. You can find famous, snooty spas with comparable prices and better reviews and put your money there instead. I will never be back.

I got several facials with Christine a couple years ago and just don't understand what all the fuss is about. The facials were fine, but no better than other facials I've gotten over the years (I've been getting 1 a month for the last 8 or so yrs). My skin did not look particularly great -- it was just an average experience. Christine also kept on trying to upsell a glycolic peel as part of the service without telling me it was extra. What did stand out is Christine's unpleasant personality. It seemed that all she could talk about was how she needed to pay for her kids' college education and how expensive this was. It was clear that she wanted to wring every possible penny out of each client. She obviously pushed products onto me and tried to get me to come in more frequently. The part that really disgusted me was when her staff basically forced a tip envelope on you when you check out. Since when are you supposed to tip the OWNER of the salon? Apparently here it's de riguer. The whole experience used to make me feel like I needed to keep a close eye on my purse. With so many other wonderful facilists in the city, I would avoid this place like the plague.

Having read all of the reviews for this place, I booked my appointment in fear that I would either be met by a hostile establishment ready to blacklist me at a moment's notice, or possibly worse, have my face butchered in the name of clean pores. However, I came, I conquered, and I come back a few visits later, ready to form an educated opinion. 1) Do not come late. Seriously, don't. I don't actually know what will happen but you've read the reviews, so have I. I don't want to find out myself. I will say that there is a sign at the front desk that clearly states that if you are more than 30 minutes late, you will need to pay for your session in full. 2) Proper extractions are meant to be highly pressurized and unpleasant. Depending on the severity of what you're having extracted, it may hurt, as well. I personally have a pretty high pain threshold as I used to get hardcore extractions done by my dermatologist via needle and tools, as well, but not many people have had proper extractions done before so I feel like this is why there's a lot of complaints about the feeling. Bottom line - NO PAIN, NO GAIN. You will thank them later. 3) Anne is extremely thorough. She will inspect your face under a bright light and extract every possible unnatural bump or lump - all the way from the hair line to bottom of your jawline, until she is content that she has removed everything possible. I really appreciate this thoroughness as this treatment is not the norm at all places. 4) You will leave looking red, bloody, scabby, and possibly worse than you did walking in- that's expected. In the days to come, your blemishes will flatten, your skin will smooth out, and your face will be grateful for every squeeze, stab, and pinch you incurred. Those signed "Thank you" photos on the wall from models ain't for nothing. Overall, come here if you want real skin rehabilitation, not just mere relaxation- although the face, neck, and shoulder massage portion is pretty great!

Back in my New York days, I went to Christine religiously every month back when she worked at Ling in SoHo. I used to have bad skin - Christine, and the natural aging process, cleared that right up the way no dermatologist could. Be warned - her facial is not for the faint-hearted. There is a reason Vogue magazine nicknamed her "mean Christine". She wears that name like a badge of honor. Let no pore be uncleansed. I have a fairly high tolerance for pain and in the early days, when my skin was really not so great, I would shed tears in Christine's chair from the pain. But nobody does extractions like her - so professional, and so damned thorough. Really, I would always schedule on a Sunday night, when i didn't have to go out afterwards and I would have 12 hours for my skin to recover, and she would book an extra half hour for me to do the job properly. Now that my skin is better, the facials are much more enjoyable. Christine's hands are magic with massage of the face and shoulders. And she's actually really funny, if you get to know her. Sadly, I don't get to enjoy the pleasure of Christine's facials that often since I left New York. Which is probably a good thing, since the price of her facial is almost the same as my plane ticket from San Francisco. But you can't doubt the quality - she's got lots of actresses and models in and out all the time (Penelope Cruz was the client immediately prior to me, the last time I went). Not sure how the other facialists in the salon are, but they're probably quite good (as well as cheaper) -- Christine's quite a perfectionist, and I can't imagine her tolerating anything less than excellent employees.

I read the reviews that promised a thorough extraction, and the extraction I underwent was every bit as thorough as I had hoped for. It also meant that it was excruciating, but well, come here to fulfill your masochistic tendencies! But seriously, I appreciated the level of detail and effort devoted to extraction. It was $120, so it better be. In the future, I probably wouldn't pay for a glycolic acid peel and a mask, because those things are $40 each and I feel like I could buy a bottle of each product for that amount of money, but I couldn't do my own extractions. It got to a point where the pain was bothering me less than the sound of my skin being cut open giving me chills, so I asked to put on some music on my phone. There is no music at this spa. Like my facialist said, "People don't come here to relax."

If it's Christine Chin herself, I think it's worth the ridiculous money that you're shelling out for a session with her which is now $500 for a diamond peel and for a facial. She is efficient, no-nonsense, very direct and never misses a spot on your face if she's doing the diamond peel. According to her, she herself designed the wand that she uses for the diamond peel and had it custom-made. I've been here twice and tried someone else other than Christine but it was not the same. And it's true that they are pushy with the products that they use and you'll end up spending a lot here. I am considering asking Christine if I can just work here in exchange for diamond peeling and facial sessions. :)

Know that you won't look gorgeous directly after this. And the experience will not be relaxing in the least. Expect a red face a HORRIBLE breakout (even if you walked in with a reasonably clear face). No worries about anyone hitting on you when you walk outta that place... And expect PAIN. I walked in because I had a whitehead. Connie did the basic steam and masks. Then she suddenly became a sadomasochist. With steel. I shed tears. I bled. The whitehead is gone. EVERYTHING that has been lurking beneath the surface of my skin that I didn't even know about has risen to the top. I look like a 15-yr-old again. Why 4 out of 5 even though I look like disgusting ground beef and had an excruciatingly painful experience? Connie instilled trust. She said my skin would be smooth and clear within a week. I feel like she did something. And she worked harder on my skin than any esthetician ever . There was a push for me to buy product, albeit a small one. Not a big enough deal for me to deduct a point .

Here's my thing with Christine Chin....I've been going here for years, and am also very experienced with getting facials.... The staff is knowledgeable. They will clean your skin very well. However, not the best customer service ever...not very nice and very blaze. Like I said good facial in terms of cleansing, but not very relaxing. It's over 50% extractions, they never once massage anything on you, and every single time someone puts a mask on me and leaves the room for 10-15 minutes. Other places massage your neck/ hands while the mask is on. I also don't like that they push products on me. If you are looking for a relaxing facial, this is not it. If you need extractions only, then it is good.

I went to Christine chin spa a month ago for a Glow facial which basically means a lot of hand extractions using needle and 10 days of pealing and being covered with red spots afterwards. What happened to me is that I had to go back the next day because my face looked really bad and I knew I needed one more facial so I called them and they said to come back and did it for free. I didn't do it w Christine instead I did it w Connie (it's almost twice cheaper) So what can I say. Let's start with positive: - after 10 days my face really looks good (not perfect tho but good) - they did my second day for free - I bought vitamin E Obagi serum and i love it Negative: - it's painful - zero customer experience. They were not very polite. - I didn't like the fact that Connie start acting shocked of how my skin looked like. She said apparently you didn't do facial for a year. And I did it like 3 weeks before my visit to Christine chin spa and she just laughed as if I was a lier. - they make you but some products you didn't expect you'll need In general I'm happy with my face and it's all that matters. I'll go back even if they will be mean because the result is what I need.

While I can safely say that ever pore from my hairline to my neck is crystal clear....I didn't appreciate the constant up-selling. From a peel to a mask (all additional to the cost of the facial) I was left wondering what you actually get for the $120 base price of the facial. As I am a sucker, I walked out spending $300 when I had anticipated spending $150 with tip. And that is after declining the microdermabrasion and the $500 worth of product that was recommended to keep the "plaque" out of my pores as they put it.

I went to Christine Chin to get a microdermabrasion. This was my first microderm and after seeing how many celebrities come to this spa, I knew it was a good choice. The spa is extremely CLEAN and upscale. The girl who did my facial (I forgot her name it was a while ago) was trained very well. She did a very thorough job the entire time. Since then, I have had several microderms and this has been the best yet. The only things I did not like about it was how much they push you to purchase their products. Most spas with give you samples of what they think is good for your skin, but here they are pretty pushy with selling their products. It is also the most expensive facial I have ever had..but you get what you pay for because I was very happy with the facial. If you are very picky about your skin and want a facial done by someone you can trust , then go here.

I have gone here many times, and in general, they do a really great job. Lately, though, the attitude has started to outweigh the results: They talk nonstop throughout your entire facial, push microdermabrasion on you, and give you the hard-sell for products afterward. The other weekend, I booked a day-of lip wax. I called from a cab to say I was going to be five minutes late, and they said, "You'd better get here as soon as you can." The taxi driver asked where I was going because he'd dropped off many women there recently, and when I told him, he said, "Oh I heard they are very rude if you are even the least bit late." Well, I got to my wax, and then Connie burnt my upper lip before rushing me out the door. Nice.

A friend of mine recommended Ingrid at the Christine Chin Spa. I read the reviews & it seemed just what I needed, as I have sensitive, acne prone skin & needed a deep cleaning. That's EXACTLY what I got. I'm so delighted with the service. The girls at the front desk were warm & inviting & Ingrid was sweet & friendly. Ingrid steamed my skin & offered a glycolic mask (I think?) the extraction & a green tea mask to finish. (During the glycolic mask I received an awesome face, neck & back massage as well.) I was ready to try everything she offered, bkuz I know the end result will be clear, perfect skin. I believe the green tea mask calmed things down a lot, bkuz there is definitely a lot of pressure & puffiness after the extraction is complete. My skin literally feels baby smooth!!! Feeling my face as I'm writing this review, not a single pimple or blackhead!! I also got a skin care set for acne prone skin, which I'm pretty sure will be amazing as well. I'm excited to see my skin in a week, once the swelling & little pock marks have cleared up!!! Before I left I made sure to make a follow up appointment in 2 weeks & maybe I'll try a microdermabrasion session! This is DEFINITELY my new spa for all things skincare!!!

Sooner or later, they will fool you! I have been a client for 4 years, so when I had a problem with the attendant (she told me that she called me and left me a message about the appointment and I did not receive any message) and I tried to talk with the manger - the manager told the attendant she would not talk to me and I should go ahead and review the place on the internet. If you want a place that has zero consideration for the customers, this is the place to go!

Went here for the first time today and I was really impressed. I had a facial done by Wendy and she was really great. She told me what the problem was with my skin and told me how I should treat it daily. Was really helpful and kind. The atmosphere was great as well! It's small but it has a really relaxed zen vibe to it which I loved. It's a little pricey ($125 for a regular facial), but honestly it was really worth it! Wendy really got all the dirt off my face and gave me great skin advice. Definitely recommend this place! BTW, give yourself around 2 days before going out or attending any big events after the facial because of all the red spots. Let your face heal then you'll be fine!

This was one of the worst facials I have every received. I really regret spending the money! I literally never write reviews on Yelp but I think my crappy experience warrants a review. Cons: -Push additional services hard (they tried to get me to do microdermabrasion when I had only booked a regular facial - trying to upgrade me from spending 120 to 300. also pushed an additional mask for 40, and a glycolic treatment for 40) -The robe they gave me smelled like B.O. -The woman performing the facial left the room a total of 4 times while they left a mask on me - I would say she was not in the room for at least a half hour total -No face massage, no hand massage, no foot massage -The extractions were more painful than I have experienced before and she was extremely rough with the lancet - I asked her to use it more gently (I totally understand the need for a lance, and I have had it used on me before but she was actually hurting me). Instead of using the lance more gently, she said "that is how we do it here" and just like that, my $120 facial was over! Absolutely no pros. I strongly advise against booking here - try Ohm or Mario Badescu for a more luxurious or cheaper facial, respectively.

I will never let anybody else touch my face aside from the cosmeticians that work for Christine Chin. The most common service that I use is eyebrow waxing. My cosmetician, Connie, is the best. She "fixed" my eyebrows after Anastacia Salon at Sephora screwed it up bigtime. The shape of my eyebrows are perfect now and look natural, as they are supposed to be. The thing that I love about Christine Chin is the quality of their service. You can trust that they are professionals in skin care and they will take good care of your skin. They are also very blunt about what your skin needs (but also gives you compliments for good skin or good eyebrows!) Although they do have a line of christine chin products, they do not try to sell it to you. I must admit that Christine Chin Spa is quite pricey but for a person that does not want to have bushy eyebrows and pock-marked skin, I think setting up an appointment at Christine Chin is all worth the $.

The only place I trust to get a facial - especially with extractions. I always feel so clean and purified after coming here. I moved to LA, so now I make sure to squeeze my appt in whenever I come back to the city.

I got microdermabrasion here 3 days ago from Ingrid. The service was serene, and she didn't try to upsell or push products onto me at all. The micro was 90 minutes and for $180 it's a good deal in this city. I was really pleased with the results...my skin is GLOWING and soft. At the end Ingrid showed me a toner product I could use, but a simple "no thanks" was all it took. They weren't pushy with me at all and that was great. THE Christine Chin was there as well with her adorable little yorkie dog. The yorkie climbed up to sniff the receipt I was signing--SO CUTE!!! haha I might just have to come back to play with Christine's yorkie.

Christine Chin facials are life changing. If you are committed to going every (6) weeks and the pain associated with the extraction process, then you will absolutely love the results! I do caution, depending on amount of extractions you need, you will have marks that will require a few days to go away. Do plan your facial at least one week from any upcoming special occasion. The aesthetician I go to is extremely knowledgeable and was able to advise me on the right skin plan from frequency of facials, to products. Now I wouldn't normally be so amenable to listening but because of the various regimes I have tried with little to no success, I knew this would be my last resort...three months later and I am so happy with the results. My before and after results were impressive. If you have gone for facials in NYC at other spas, then you know that the Christine Chin spa is in line with some of the other prestigious spas in the city. The products as well are reasonably priced and effective. I find the staff gracious and knowledgeable. I cant even imagine had I never found the Christine Chin spa, what my skin would look like today!

Best in Skincare! I've suffered from acnes for many years. I have tried facials from many places. I have tried many solutions. My dermatologist prescribed the tropical medication to me for two years. I used acutance too. Besides that, I have used tropical medication from television commercial for years. But, nothing was helped. Nothing was helped the breaking out, over and over again. I was depressed and disappointed. My best friend, Natasha, suggested me to go to Christine Chin. The first appointment with Christine, the waiting list is for waiting for two months. It's worthy. Christine took two hours to do extractions on my pores. She said every pore was clogged. Clogged pores do not absorb skincare products. The clogged pores have to be cleaned first. Then, skincare products will kick in and help in following. Christine's extraction is amazing! She made my every pore is thoroughly cleaned. The facial with Christine is pricy, but she makes my skin has a new life. Since I am a student, I cannot afford to see Christine every 6 to 8 weeks. Christine suggested me to see one of Christine Chin team girls. The facial price is affordable. Second and third visits to Christine Chin Spa, I have Hannah. She has 6-year experience in Christine Chin Spa. She is a nice person. She gives an excellent extraction. She cleaned thoroughly. Sometimes, she takes my words too personal. Maybe, she treats me like her best friend. She is a professional facialist. She acknowledges me to take care of my skin. She teaches me to use skincare products. With Christine and her team, now I know what the worst breaking out can cause by, what the best cleaning facial is, what the right product is. Christine and her team do not just do a facial on my skin. They acknowledge me how to take care of my skin. Big Kisses and Hugs to Christine and her team!
