"Sabina isn’t the only place to find mezcal in the city, but it is the first to build the entire bar menu around the smoky Mexican spirit. This mezcaleria, from local restaurateur Allan Rodriguez (who also owns next-door taqueria La Neta and El Centro in the South End and Dedham), draws a big date-night crowd on Newbury Street. While many come for the drinks, don’t discount the food: Guacamole topped with crispy chipotle-roasted grasshoppers, punchy ceviche served with taro chips, and a particularly impressive cuadrito de lechon — a juicy square of suckling pig that is slow-cooked and then roasted for a crispy exterior — might just win you that second date, too." - Erika Adams
