KAO Bar & Grill

My Argentinian friend and I went for dinner. We shared a couple dishes and a bucket of beer. Beer selection is not the standard boring selections, THANK YOU! The blood sausage was on point and the short ribs!! The bone literally pulled right out of it! They were so tender and buttery melted in my mouth! The sausage was OK. Kind of "hot dog-ish" but the steak was tender and cooked well, needed salt. The fries are really good but needed seasoning too. The only thing that was truly disappointing was the chimichurri sauce. I literally had better out of a powder package in Guatemala. Overall, we enjoyed our meal and will be eating here again!

I went because it was highly recommended by family to go and eat and specifically for the Gnocchis. However, not only were the prices on the menu online wrong, but the wait time and presentation of the food were not the best for the cost of the food. I attached a picture of the food so you can get an understanding of what I say. Fo $50 worth of Gnoccchis that I could have made at home for under $10. It was not worth the high cost nor the long wait time. It could have been because of the packaging that you guys use, which I highly recommend you change it, but also the fact that for $15 for a basic pasta plate, it should be pair up with something else other than just bread for someone to be able to justify such a high cost. I will eventually find time to give them a chance to redeem themselves by going to dine in, but my take out experience was not the best.

Kao Grill in Hallandale Beach is a must-visit for anyone craving an authentic Argentine barbecue experience. Best skirt steak I think we’ve ever had! We also had the pulled pork tacos/lettuce wraps…the bbq sauce was amazing! Service was friendly and efficient, atmosphere was inviting, eclectic, artsy…really cool how they took the shipping containers and made them into buildings! Can’t wait to come back again!

Had a wonderful Birthday celebration and experience at KAO. The Lettuce wraps are fantastic especially the pork ones. The Milanese was wonderful and filled up the entire place. The ribs were really wonderful. Nice cocktails and our server, Talia, was terrific. It was also a nice touch that they brought out a Birthday dessert and sang Happy Birthday. I have been there other times at Happy Hour which is great and fun. At night they have live music. Cool vibe with the place built with containers. Loved it all!

We live in the area. Always drove past this place and wondered how is it here. We came today and we want to say we did enjoy it so much. The food, service and drinks were delicious. Luis was the Barmen and he was so nice and great. Will definitely be back.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at KAO, and I must say, it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The service was excellent, with attentive staff who made me feel welcomed and well-cared for throughout my meal. As for the food, it was simply impeccable. Every dish I ordered exceeded my expectations and was prepared with utmost attention to detail. From the appetizers to the main course, everything was delicious and bursting with flavor. I couldn't fault a single item on the menu – absolutely everything I tried was fantastic! I wholeheartedly recommend KAO to anyone looking for a remarkable dining experience. The combination of excellent service and impeccable cuisine makes it a standout choice. You won't be disappointed!

Terrible service — would never go back! I had one of the worst dining experiences ever at this Argentine restaurant. From the moment we walked in, the staff was rude and completely inattentive. We waited over 20 minutes just to get menus, and even longer for someone to take our order.. We tried to get the waiter’s attention several times, but it was like we were invisible. No apologies, no basic courtesy. Honestly, it felt like they didn’t care if we were there or not. Avoid this place at all costs — there are plenty of better restaurants that actually value their customers.

Haven't been here in a long while . Stopped by for late lunch early dinner . Celebrating wifeys bday :) Omg!!!! So good .. started off with a glass of red sangria Followed by the most incredible provoleta = fried cheese to die 4. The Citrus salad was just the perfect combination to go with the Skirt steak and potatoes . What a great meal :))

Cool space, good service. The burger was messy, I would give it a 3/5. The skirt steak was phenomenal, garden salad was delicious and the fries extra crispy. Maybe I'll try something else next time.

As always - great food, great atmosphere and great service. I love to have such a great place close to home. Drinks during happy hour are BOGO free and are good! There's plenty street parking. They offer indoor and outdoor seating.

Great food... really poor service. Had dinner there las night and while the food was great. There needs to be some reality checks on the menu descriptions. Wedge potatoes are not supposed to be French fries. I do give the food 9/10 but our service was terrible. We were seated , had our drink order taken and then didn't see our waiter for 25 minutes. Another server came over finally and asked if we were ready to order drinks. Finally ordered our meal and it took forever to get and they forgot our salads. Drinks took 25 minutes to arrive and we had to beg to get any table service, water refills and a second drink order. Would I recommend ? Maybe. They definitely need more staff and a crash course in customer service.

Came here for lunch since the location worked. It was around 2pm on a Saturday and it was super chill/empty. We were seated right away and had great service the whole time. The food itself was delicious. I had the lettuce pork tacos and we shared the popcorn chicken appetizers. The popcorn chicken and pork were so good. We also had churros (didn't take a pic) with dulce de leche dip which was a great dessert. I ended the lunch with a cappuccino. The place is midrange for price so I think overall it's great for a little lunch date.

Went there for my cousins birthday. The service was excellent and the food was ok. We had appetizers, tablets which is a charcuterie board with steak and sausages the lettuce tacos which are my favorite then the pizza that i took pic of. The pizza looked amazing but really the toppings were the only part that was good and the pizza tasted like a frozen pizza. Will be back

The decor is adorable. The lights on the table are so cute they change to a mellow yellow or fluorescent white light. The chimichurri sauce was served with ever meal and honestly was to die for! Seriously move over "frank red hots" cuz I put that chimmi sauce on ERRYYYTHANG! sliders were soo goodd cooked to perfect. Just dunk the sliders in trust me. The short rib cooked med well was perfection i should of asked for mid well for the skirt steak too but I'm never sure how close places are to cooking to not over cook. If you like medium to med rare it was safe to cooking measurement. Put the sauce on the mash and brocoli, trust me! We ordered the tres lèche too! If you have a nut allergy it is topped With coconut and drizzled with Caramel or Nutella? Im not sure. I did my best to enjoy what i could without touching those parts. The cake was soooooo good toooed with heavenly cream (We didn't get a photo of it) just order it

This cute ambiance was a unique experience. We came for the happy hour which is 2 drinks for the price of 1. So essentially $15 for 2 drinks. They were good good. Not a huge selection but the passionfruit margarita and the blueberry margarita was great. We also had their beef empanadas that hit the spot. Unfortunately the happy hour is just for drinks and not food. It so happens that it was a futbol night that Argentina played and this place got packed. The service was great they were very attentive and very fast with drinks and food. Highly recommend.

I like the concept. Este es un lugar que pareciera caído del cielo en un barrio que no lo acompaña. Definitivamente esta mejorando por negocios como este que están abriendo y haciéndolo mas interesante. El tren Bright-line pasa justo por detrás del establecimiento, que mientras estas sentado comiendo lo observas como cada 15 minutos. Tienes la opción de comer a temperatura ambiente o en el salon climatizado. La parrilla que compartí me pareció sabrosa, destacando la morcilla, pues no soy fan y esa estuvo buenisima. La sangria no cumplió las expectativas, pero en general me gusto la experiencia que tuve.

Our experience was subpar. To begin, I ordered the New York strip at medium, and the steak came out well done. I notified my server the steak was overcooked. She shared, "ok," no apologies, took the steak back, and I waited while my guest ate for the steak to come back out. Thankfully, the second steak came out much better. The atmosphere looked good, but we were fighting flies and mosquitos the entire time. Most of the time, we were the only guests in the restaurant; however, we had to connect with another lady to get certain things for the table. Overall, the experience was less than ideal. My guest enjoyed her pizza, but the service wasn't excellent, mainly because there were more employees than customers.

We saw Kao Bar & Grill as we were driving down West Dixie Highway in Hallandale a few weeks ago and thought the shipping containers looked so cool and we were waiting on it to open up, so happy it's now finally opened! We made reservations to the restaurant about a week in advance for my husband's birthday and we arrived a couple of minutes before our reservation time. The parking is a little confusing at first, there are metered spots and then there's shops nearby. We parked in a shopping center across the street that was all closed after 7 PM, but there weren't signs saying you couldn't park there, so just use caution if you do that. But our car was fine when we came back to it. When we walked into the restaurant, it was quite stunning, there's a number of outdoor seats next to the bar and tables inside of the shipping containers. It was raining earlier, so the restaurant employee (who was also our server) recommended that we eat inside. Our server was absolutely outstanding, very warm and genuine and made us feel at home. He brought us our menus and gave us a few minutes to look them over. They brought us a small dish of roasted peanuts to start as well while we ordered a bottle of white wine, which I think was around $35. For appetizers, we ordered the Citrus Walnut Salad ($12), which was absolutely amazing, a large portion for 2 people to share and the fruits and vegetables were extremely fresh and flavorful. For entrees, we ordered the Milanesa Napolitana ($21) with a side of potato wedges, and the Classic Chicken Milanesa ($17) with a side of veggies. Both dishes were absolutely outstanding, and a large portion and we both absolutely raved about it! For dessert, we ordered the Tres Leches ($12) which also was outstanding, and it had a burnt marshmallow crisp topping which was quite unique as well. Service and food were absolutely a standout, and this has to be probably one of the top dining establishments in Hallandale for an upscale dining experience. We definitely look forward to returning!

Have had the pleasure of being here twice, since I was always asking myself "What the heck is that place that's made out of containers?!", and after a few months of wondering, we decided to walk in and we were blown away! The decor is nice and warm! In the interior there are black and white face portraits of famous Argentineans with some small captions that are entertaining. The lighting is just right on the inside, so I've always opted to eat there. Will go more towards the outside on my next time. So far I've had the Pork Lettuce wrapped tacos as an appetizer, as well as the Rockin Chicken (Popcorn chicken bites) and they were both great. The pork tacos specifically were really good. Last time I went, I had the hummus and the Chicken tacos - I was not too thrilled by the hummus since I found it to be too much on the lemony side, but my partner enjoyed it thoroughly. The Chicken tacos had a slightly spicy and sweet undertone to them. Let's talk about the beef though. I had a medium rare skirt steak and I changed my side to asparagus spears. The meat was cooked slightly less than medium rare, but since they serve it cut and on a warm iron plate, it finished cooking itself towards medium rare right there and then, which I found superb. It was garnished with a sprig of rosemary on top which looked nice. The chimichurri was very good! It packed slightly more heat than what I am used to (in comparison to other chimi) but it was sensational. Nice place to go to for a quick meal as service is usually fast. We were out in an hour. Can get annoying parking-wise if the restaurant is full, but extremely enjoyable.

My boyfriend and I walked into this new place and we thought it looked really cute from the outside. We only ordered 2 things because we were in a rush. We ordered the bbq lettuce tacos first. The pork tasted like it was marinated for 24 hours. It melted in your mouth. It was topped with picked onions and some sort of micro greens with a side of extra bbq sauce. Your palette will explode ! These are the best lettuce tacos I've ever tasted. Next, we ordered the prosciutto pizza was epic. It came with arugula, burrata , prosciutto, and a small tiny glaze of balsamic reduction. I will say , my first bite was a bit Salty with prosciutto and burrata. I took a second bite and had the arugula, burrata and balsamic reduction & it tasted better. I would order it again but ask for more balsamic reduction. The service was IMPECCABLE!! We had Eddie as our waiter and he told us that KAO has only been open for a month & that this restaurant took a more Argentinian feel. He made us feel really comfortable and welcome. Ask for Eddie ! The ambiance feels like a fine dining/ hipster joint. Feels like Hallendale is trying to become a little more like West Hollywood or Wynwood. I would come back to try more things for sure !

I enjoyed the ambiance of this place, Dj was on point the music was super chill! The food was delicious especially the chicken bite appetizer and fries! Drinks were delicious, not to mention the service was amazing! Loved it and definite will come back

So happy I was finally able to try this place! I am visiting from St. Augustine, and where I was staying was right down the street from here. I was first captivated by the decor and it's chic architect of being a container. The week I have been here I drove past it until Sunday I said let's go there! The lettuce pulled pork tacos captivated me: I ordered them and they were delicious! Bib lettuce is one of my fav's. The Mr. had the grilled lamb and it was cooked to perfection, very tender meat fell right off the bone. Same deal for the ribs appetizer. Fries were wedges and seasoned to perfection; so happy they weren't the skinny salty mcdonalds type fries. Everyone there was so friendly, all the staff were so welcoming, and warm. I honestly felt like I was back home (California). Nonetheless I found my spot when I am back again! I aso ordered a cappucinno with cinnamon and a brownie that came with vanilla ice cream. Let me just say I am not a sugar fan but this brownie was so good I was on the verge of ordering another one, only reason I didn't was because I got cut off. Haha. I did in fact order another cappuccino! A malbec was ordered $15 glass it was great, the non alcohic drinks for the littles was a blueberry lemonade and a passiom fruit lemonade both were super yummy and tangy! A ceasar salad $14 was ordered it came with bacon bits, crutons, and cheese the dressing was made in house and it was so good! Our bill total with tax was about $200 we did have two rounds of alcoholic drinks, two rounds of lemonade two rounds of coffee, dessert, an appetizer, and two entrees. It was fair. I've only been here for drinks and appetizers (to pre-game before an event at Club Tropical down the road), and was generally impressed by the vibe, the friendly/prompt service, and the fare. It has a sleeker atmosphere than most other options in the area and struck me as a good place for a date, but for one significant issue: on this particular night, at least, the DJ was playing music at an excessively loud volume, such that everyone around us was speaking in elevated tones to talk over it. This was a real detraction from an otherwise chill vibe, and it ultimately got uncomfortable to the point of us leaving a bit earlier than planned. I hope that Kao's managers read this and take note, as attention to this would elevate the establishment into 5* territory in my book.

Excellent food, great service and cozy place... I had dinner last night and my skirt steak and asparagus were amazing, and my husband loves his short ribs...

We parked in a shopping center lot across the street I don't believe they have any parking No problem The entrance and outside bar adorable with some cute seating Then we entered the container and that's were we sat which was quite comfortable and air conditioned The service was not up to par , maybe not their fault but Appeared to be only one server and there were 4 tables occupied in the inside seating Took 20 minutes to get a glass of water And then we had to keep asking for it to be refilled The food looked and tasted delicious We had the Chicken Milanese and the Steak with mashed potatoes Will definitely try again , hopefully the service will match the food

We stopped by this new spot in Hallandale for quick drinks , ended up staying for the dinner. We were initially there for happy hour but after seeing the fire bbq station outside , decided to tryout the food. The drinks were bogo, tasted refreshing. The presentation was on point too, I liked the extra details they had put in. For food we got sliders and rib to start then had the ribeye steak to share. The ribeye was so moist and tender and i loved the chimichurri sauce. We also hung out at the bar and there was live dj outside which was fun. The server was attentive as well , the bartenders seemed friendly. I'd definitely go back again.

We decided to give this restaurant a try, but unfortunately, our experience was disappointing. My husband ordered the chicken Milanesa, and after a long wait for our food, it arrived raw in the middle. RAW. We brought this to the server's attention, and while they apologized, it took another 20 minutes for them to bring out a properly cooked dish. Meanwhile, my own food sat on the table getting cold while we waited for his replacement meal. Mistakes happen, but the lack of urgency to fix the issue and the awkward timing really ruined the experience for us. For a restaurant at this price point, I expected much better quality and service. We won't be returning anytime soon.

I was quite disappointed with my experience. An example of photos look better than what actually is. First want to start with the service. The team is friendly but with zero sense of urgency. It took forever to get my order in and alone when you asked them for something else. The restaurant was not busy at all and a little bit more of attention will go a long way. Food wise, it was ok, nothing espetacular especially when comparing to other argentine restaurants. The food was lacking a bit of flavor and the meat looked more well done than medium. Ambiance was nice. There are outdoor and indoor options. All in all, did not live up to my expectation unfortunately. Was excited to see this restaurant while drive down the street.

In town to visit family and they mentioned this place had recently opened and they wanted to try. So of course I pull up Yelp and I noticed no reviews. so I thought perfect opportunity to try something new and have a review. Right away I loved the art of the place. Old containers turned into a restaurant with chill talcing vibe patio. The staff was very attentive and everyone was on point helping each other. The manager/partner was also making sure everyone and everything was moving smoothly. This isn't the first restaurant they open but it is the first concept of its kind. We ordered multiple items and everyone loved everything. It's all real ingredients and house made. Only thing not made in house is the ketchup. I highly recommend this place. Side note- a table came in and thought they could help themselves to a table. The manager kindly came and mentioned to them that the area had already been reserved for a large party and he would need them to move. The arrogance of the guy is unbelievable. He tells the manager I'll move when you buy me drinks. The manager kindly explained that had the issue been on the staff seating him there he would but they decided to seat themselves. He then jumps up and peacocks the manager and gives attitude. I love what happened next. Manager said there's no need for the confrontation and attitude and I kindly ask that you leave and not to worry about the bill. The tiny guy walks away flaring arms and then try's coming back to start a fight. The entire time the manager is cool and just keeps his stance on they helped themselves to a closed area and he was kindly asking them to move to another open area. This is how you handle people Thinning they are entitled. I command management. Very well handled and in a way to make sure not to create a scene and not yell and was always professional.

Really flavorful food. The cleanest restaurant I've ever seen. I got the lettuce chicken tacos. Beyond yummy. I would only suggest extra lettuce to wrap with but soooo yummy.

Great vibes!!! It's located next to the train tracks in Hallandale, FL which gives this restaurant its unique flair. Whenever you are in the area put this one on the top of your list. Overall: -Parking is a challenge. Some paid to park spots available -Great Vibes with live music (when I was there Friday evening) -Great service. Friendly -Food is delish and well seasoned Can't wait to come back and taste more on the menu.

Terrible experience and service from the waitress, to start we asked for a bottle of water and one of the glasses was dirty. We told the waitress and she got upset without saying anything and removed the glasses with a terrible attitude. We stand up and left, if this is how it is starting I didn't want to know what the rest of the service would be like... She is working at the wrong place this is about customer service!!

Uncomfortable table & chairs in out door area. If they tried sitting there how could they not know? Ribeye for two no bone came already sliced with no prior presentation. Just ok for high price. Rib appy $ 18 for 3 ribs. How would you share 3 overpriced ribs? Fried potatoes very good but not enough to return. One & done.

These days it's hard to give away your hard earned money to places that lack value. Unfortunately, I don't think this place is positioning itself well with the surrounding restaurants. This place offers 16 oz non-prime steaks for $75 "to share". $7 miller light bottles, $20 Don Julio silver margaritas and basically a menu full of lunch items. The ambiance is nice, restaurant is nice, my only complaint here is the size of the tables. Literally tiny tables. TLDR: Food was average and overpriced Drinks expensive/average Restaurant is nice Tables are tiny, can't fit your legs Service was decent

Good food but service not so. Server spent more time on phone than taking care of our table. Too much time on phone and didn't even acknowledge our exit even though we said goodbye but let's give her the benefit of the doubt, maybe the music was a bit too loud...

Once again we went with friends and definitely enjoyed it!! It was a pleasure to be served by Danny. We had a great time enjoying the DJ Music as well as the new plates....delicious : ) we will be back

Rarely does a new restaurant offer spectacular food and flawless service. Kao offers both, along with a beautifully designed, indoor, outdoor restaurant/bar. Truly some of the best steak I've had in South Florida. Terrific mixed drinks. Incredible dessert. Welcome to the neighborhood Kao!

I went here with my boyfriend, we sat outside while a band was playing music. The music was good. The food and drinks tasted good, but were really overpriced for their small portions. The tables were extremely small and our food/drinks barely fit on the table. I am 4'11" and felt like I was too big for the two seater table. As soon as our food was placed at our table, flies started to land on it, and we had to continuously swat them away. Also, I know it's hot outside but their fans all had misters and it made it more humid because they are misting you from every angle. The service was great- everyone working there was very attentive.

We celebrated my sister's birthday last night here at Kao. Food was excellent. We ordered Hummus, loaded fries and empanadas to start. My main plate was the BBQ pork lettuce wrap tacos. Absolutely delicious. The service was excellent as well. The only reason I did not give 5 stars, was the chairs at the tables were extremely uncomfortable. This sentiment was shared by others at the table. You basically just can't wait to get up. Otherwise I would go back and recommend it.

Everything is so amazing the second one is waking into this unique container converted restaurant. Extremely clean the team are exceptional host. It's a fine dining experience without breaking the bank. Rodrigo was our server along with a young Cuban guy who was also amazing and raved about the rib eye which in turn we ordered and shared two appetizers two sides and dessert my best friend needed to be rolled out and will agree we both dreamt about the food. Sooooo good. Worth the experience and ambiance.

Easily one of my new favorite spots to get a steak. Their churrasco skirt steak is amazingly juicy ,cooked to perfection, and very tasty. Within 2 bites i knew this was going to be the best skirt steak I've ever had. Thankfully there was plenty of steak too as per the 12 oz portion! The potato wedges were also good to compliment. I enjoyed their beef empanadas as well, and their salsa that comes with it makes the dish come together beautifully. The one thing I'm not a fan of is their inside seating, which quickly becomes extremely loud with other people in the room, making it very hard to talk without talking unusually loud. Their outside seating is not the best as it can sometimes be very cramped as they stuff tables in front and on the side of you. Despite that, I cannot wait to come back to their spectacular food!

This place is so cool! Rodrigo was an amazing server. The food is top notch. Did not have one bad thing and we had 2 apps, dinner and dessert. Please do yourself a favor and eat here as often as you can. Omg I'm going home to dream about this meal

I saw this restaurant on Tik Tok and liked the way it was made from 2 shipping containers. Also, since it's Argentinian I had to try because my husband and I love Argentinian food. i called ahead to see if I need a reservation and the host said there was no wait at the moment. We arrived at about 5:30pm on a Saturday. We were greeted by the host and manager. They were both really nice and the manager seated us. The waiter we had was a young man he was on point the whole time we were there. We usually eat steak but my husband and I wanted to be adventurous and try something we had never had. We asked our awesome waiter for suggestions and he suggested the Milanesas since it's really good and popular dishes. I had the Milanesa de Caballo and my husband had the Milanesa Napolitana. For appetizer we ordered the Provoleta with Chorizo it was so good. Our dinners came out after we ate the appetizer and they were both delicious. We were so surprised on how the Milanesas were so tasty. After dinner I ordered the skillet chocolate chip cookie. I am a big fan of this desert at BJ's and this one here was very good. It was different this one had glazed pecans and strawberries. I loved the cookie skillet the pecans and strawberries gave it a different flavor that was very good. I will be coming back very soon to try a cut of steak with my husband. Overall I the service was on point and the restaurant is very nice and welcoming. Our waiter shared that after 8pm on weekends they have live music outside on the deck. I will definitely be visiting very soon to try a cut of steak and chimichurri. I have rated this restaurant a 4 because I haven't tried the steak. Once I try it and if it's as good as the Milanesas this restaurant will be a 5 star. Overall you must try this cool restaurant in Hallandale I highly recommend you won't be disappointed.

Talk about bad service . Our waiter keep trying to be sneaky an add other food to our tab to pocket the money . Then asked about why we didn't tip . I always tip ! But not when I feel obligated and get shitty service. And the food . Man and the food is trash too . Another over rated place in southern Florida . Save your money they do not season there food either .

First time here. Very cool atmosphere! The whole place is designed out of shipping containers. Nadia was our bartender, very sweet and helpful. Answered all of our questions without hesitation. We ordered the empanadas and we were impressed with the caprese. The criolla sauce served with it is delicious. The pizza amazing! Who doesn't love burrata?! They also have wood fired grill outside that smells great.
