First time in Newfoundland and after being here a week I decided to get screeched in. By all accounts Christians pub is THE place to get er done… small mishap had me at the wrong place but Skipper Lukey took the time to text and make sure I was made it: The ceremony was great, the perfect blend of history and humor and good times. Never in my life would I think bologna could ever be considered gourmet but the skipper elevated such a simple delicacy into a bite to remember! I am all about experiencing the places I travel and this screeched in ceremony is perfect. I highly recommend you put Christian’s pub on your must do list when in St.Johns!!

If I could give it 10 stars I would. Skipper Lukey you're a rockstar. The whole atmosphere and vibe was everything I could have hoped for. The history of the screech in ceremony along with the humour made it a night we won't soon forget. Keep doing what you're doing. So glad we made the decision to get screeched in on Saturday night.

The oldest pub in Halifax, Christian's is rumoured to have the best screech in around. This old pub at the entrance of George Street has old town vibes and is dark, warm and cozy. They have both indoor and outdoor seating but it fills up pretty quick. I didn't opt to kiss any cods but rather just enjoyed a few pints. Good hangout and decent priced beers. Must stop if you're pub crawling around St. John's.

Great spot to get screeched in. Best experience by far. $40 to be screeched includes certificate and rum shot. Overall great bar and friendly atmosphere and people. Make sure to kiss the cod. Book online as to ensure you get a spot. Screeching starts at 5 till 1am. Beer was great and delightful.

We had a great experience getting Screeched in — no matter the size of the crowd, you can expect a very memorable event! Lukey gave us some amazing historical context while keeping things fun and loose.

We attended the Screeched In ceremony at 9pm on Sunday. The service was excellent - the staff here really add to the character of the place. Super friendly, great conversations, even the other patrons were chatty and lovely. The host, 'Skipper Lukey', is one of a kind. 100% recommend. This was certainly a highlight of our trip. Can't believe I kissed a cod, but totally worth it! Proud to officially be an honorary Newfie.

Got screeched in here and had genuine Newfie steak. Lukey puts on a great ceremony and shared some history. 10/10 recommend 👌 If you like kissing fish, this is the place to be.
