Did my 2nd walking tour with Urban Hikes during Global Entrepreneurship Week and it was fantastic! Lisa is so knowledgeable about our city and helps people get excited about what we're viewing. She's a warm, friendly person which makes learning from her so easy. Can't wait to take another tour soon. Highly recommend!

As part of a teambuilding activity, Lisa Pena took my team on a wonderful hike through the historic Strawberry Hill neighborhood of Kansas City, Kansas. We took in the historic landmarks and energy of the neighborhood while learning more about the different immigrant and Native American groups who have called it home over the decades. We had so much fun and gained some knowledge in the process!

The hike to forage for pawpaws was wonderful! When this opens up next September again don't hesitate. Grab a spot! The hike was beautiful, the fruit was fun to search for, and pawpaws are delicious. However, the secret sauce to this hike is Chad, the pawpaw enthusiast! His depth of knowledge and eagerness to share everything he loves about pawpaws is contagious. He's a joyful cheerleader for everyone hunting for pawpaws and his secret to memorable teaching is ganas.

The Strawberry Hill and downtown KC, KS hike was amazing! I have lived in the KC area my entire life and had always wondered about the history of this area. Our tour guide Christy, was amazing with her vast knowledge of the history of this area and I don’t know how she remembered all the facts and dates she shared with us!! The area is so rich with the history of immigration and how our country prospered because of it. The Strawberry Hill area has retained a real sense of community with numerous programs to benefit the youth of the area. I would highly recommend this hike.

Th Urban Hike with Laura was terrific! So much information and history. We loved seeing the little back alleys with beautiful murals, and learning all about the Westside neighborhood. We will definitely be back for another hike!

We went for our first ever urban hike and it was great. We have only lived in KC about three years and our knowledgeable guide opened up new areas for us to explore as we grow to know our city better. While this is apparently the longest hike, the pace was fine and nobody had any issue keeping up. I would highly recommend this to anyone wanting to get to know KC better.
