Matthew's is my favorite neighborhood pizzeria with only one other that I normally consider. I admit it has been awhile since I've been here, but I've not been in the neighborhood in a long time. I found it comforting that the pizza and the service have not changed. I have never been disappointed when I choose to enjoy food from Matthew's. I highly recommend that if you haven't already, give Matthew's Pizzeria a try.

The Myth, The Legend, and Totally Worth It We finally stopped into Matthew's Pizza around 5:30 p.m. on a Friday — the place was packed, which we took as a good sign. After a short 20-minute wait, we got our pizza, and let me tell you, it did not disappoint. Easily one of the top three best pizzas I’ve ever had. The crust was perfectly baked, the ingredients tasted incredibly fresh, and the cheese was rich and flavorful , you can tell they take pride in every pie that leaves their oven. If you're a true pizza lover, this spot is a must-visit. Highly recommend.

I've been to Matthew's a handful of times. Each visit has been very consistent. I've ordered the margherita, 3 cheese, and popeye. All three have been really good, with the 3 cheese being my favorite. The crust is absolutely old of the stars. I'd call it a semi- deep dish crust that has a nice crisp. There's a lot of cheese and the ratio to other toppings is good. I would say the most underwhelming item I've ordered is the iced tea, but that's not a big deal. The service has been good and the prices I think are fair. Matthew's is certainly one of the better pizzerias in Baltimore City. It's different than your average pizza parlor so if you go in expecting that you're expectations may not be met. Matthew's is a solid spot!

I happened to be at hopkins Bayview for an appt and a nurse told me Matthews had her most favorite pizza. I had to try it. She was right. The crust was caramelized, and it had the perfect amount of sauce and cheese. Delicious! And I have to say that the lady at the counter was the nicest, most down to earth person. I loved talking with her while waiting. I'll be back when I'm in the area!

As I stepped into Matthew’s Pizza, I carried with me the faint hope that Baltimore’s famed pizzeria might transport me to a world of culinary delight. What awaited, however, was an experience I shan’t soon forget—but not for the reasons one might hope. The pizza arrived, its appearance promising, but the first bite unraveled all illusions. The crust—ah, the crust!—was a barren wasteland, !!!! dry and lifeless, with all the personality of cardboard. It seemed to disintegrate upon the tongue, leaving nothing but disappointment in its wake. Some would say (Grade school pizza taste better)….oooof!!!! The cheese, too, bore its own tragedy: overcooked and burnt, its flavor was as bitter as my growing dismay. Each bite was a struggle, a dance of charred mediocrity and absent charm. And yet, amidst the ruins of this culinary calamity, there was a single, glimmering hope: the tomatoes. Sweet, tangy, and vibrant, my sister said: “they sang with the brightness of the Mediterranean sun” ~Tiara hall~ It was as if they had wandered onto the wrong stage, lost among actors unworthy of their brilliance……… But alas, even their radiance could not save the dish from its ultimate fate. The pizza lacked the depth, the soul, the aftertaste that lingers like a fond memory. Instead, it vanished as quickly as it arrived, leaving me empty and unsatisfied. Matthew’s Pizza, a name that once carried a legacy, delivered not a masterpiece, but a shadow of what could have been. To craft pizza is an art, one that demands passion, precision, and care. Without these, one is left not with a triumph, but a mere approximation ….a fleeting echo of greatness, drowned in mediocrity. Baltimore deserves better

If you want crab pie..aka crab pizza... head here!!! The BEST I've tasted! Real back fin crab meat, so it's Market price, but again, worth every penny!! Yup, I had a slice before posting and I can't say enough! The restaurant is small, pizza takes about 25 minutes to make, but it's well worth the wait!!

Matthews Pizza is still amazing. I got the 3 cheese with mushrooms and it was perfection. Fresh, flavorful, and just the right amount of cheesy goodness. The quality hasn’t changed a bit over the years. Definitely a Baltimore classic that never disappoints.

This place is everything you would expect from a pizzeria. Consistent with every visit. Although the ownership has changed over the years the recipes haven't. This restaurant was enjoyed by my father as a child and now me every time I'm in Baltimore. That's a span of over 60 years.
