The Bando is definitely an experience!
First of all, the marketing and the whole vibe is creative and on point—especially being on MLK in Atlanta. From the outside it literally looks like a “bando” with boards on the windows, and once you walk in, it’s a whole throwback setup. The inside is full of personality—old-school items, record players, an older-style sofa, vintage décor, and it honestly feels like you stepped back into the 70s… like being at your auntie house where the music is playing and everything has nostalgia. They even have a wall dedicated to A Different World, with the classroom-style chairs and desks. Super unique and fun.
One thing I do want to mention is the floor was extremely slippery. They did have a wet floor/mop sign out, so I appreciated the warning, but the floors honestly felt like they needed a good cleaning because it was way too slick.
As far as the food goes, I tried the wing special (7 wings + fries for $6.50), and everything came out hot and fresh. I got the Honey Hot because they said it was one of the most popular flavors, but for me the wings were just okay/mediocre—not bad, just not anything that really stood out flavor-wise.
Would I come back for the food? Probably not.
Would I recommend someone go for the experience and the vibe? Absolutely.
Overall, I’d say it’s worth checking out at least once because the concept is really dope!
