Great spot for summer happy hour outside! My coworkers came here on a Thursday evening on a beautiful summer day and there was a LOT of room to spread out. Great couches and corn hole in the back of the patio, and lots of tables and a bar up front. Happy hour specials include draft beer, house wine, and well drinks. They also have decent apps to split with the party, and daily specials. We split calamari and multiple people loved the Gold Rush cocktail. 10/10 recommend for either casual drinks after work or a full date night.

We went to Tappo for my birthday dinner last Saturday. They easily managed the party of ten and we received extensive service from our waitress. All were happy with the large menu and daily specials and appetizers. The food was delicious. The decor is keenly seasonal, with an enjoyable immersion atmosphere. Our manager visited our table a few times, making sure we were pleased and he extended his best wishes to us. Overall a great experience. The food was reasonably priced and we ate and drank a lot of it.

I have eaten at many fine establishments in my life — some with Michelin stars, some with questionable napkins — but Tappo Restaurant may now live forever in my memory the way Notre Dame football fans still talk about the 1988 national championship: loudly and with unnecessary dramatics. Let’s start at the beginning. I walked into Tappo with the confidence of a Notre Dame quarterback on game day — chest out, stomach ready, maybe slightly overdressed. The vibe inside? Warm lighting, great music, and a faint whisper of garlic that could make even the most committed keto dieter throw down their cauliflower rice and weep. I felt good. This was going to be a touchdown meal. Then… the wait. Friends, when I say I waited an hour and 30 minutes for my food, I mean I waited an hour and 30 minutes the way Notre Dame fans wait for another national championship: with optimism, pain, and a lot of internal negotiations with a higher power. I had time to reflect on my life choices, re-live all four quarters of the 2012 BCS Championship in my mind, and check the wine menu 47 times. But then something magical happened — the manager, clearly a hero recruited straight from South Bend, came over and comped me a drink. Just like that, the mood shifted. It wasn’t a flag on the play — it was a perfect fourth-quarter interception that turned the game around. The wine was smooth, a little bold, and frankly made me forget that my stomach had started to question whether food was real. And then… the pasta arrived. The Alfredo pasta came out like Rudy sprinting onto the field. Creamy, rich, unapologetically decadent. I twirled it on my fork, and I swear I heard the faint sound of the Notre Dame Victory March playing softly in the distance. It didn’t just coat the pasta — it hugged it. Every bite was a warm embrace from an Italian grandmother who somehow also tailgates in South Bend every Saturday. But hold on — the mushroom sausage pasta? My God. If the Alfredo pasta was the quarterback, this dish was the offensive line, running backs, and entire defensive unit combined. Earthy mushrooms, perfectly seasoned sausage, pasta cooked just al dente enough to remind you that life is good and carbs are a gift. It was like watching Notre Dame pull off an overtime win in a snowstorm: unexpectedly glorious and slightly emotional. The service, despite the Great Wait of 2025, was genuinely kind. My server checked in, refilled water like they were running a no-huddle offense, and managed to keep my wine glass from ever being empty. Respect. Now, was the night perfect? No. Waiting an hour and 30 minutes for pasta is a commitment — like sticking by Notre Dame through those “rebuilding years.” But honestly, when the food landed, when that creamy Alfredo and that mushroom sausage symphony hit the table, it was all worth it. Would I go back? Absolutely. Like a true Notre Dame fan, I’ll keep showing up, yelling at nobody in particular, and believing this time it’ll be our year. And if the pasta takes another hour and a half? I’ll order more wine, hum the fight song, and prepare my taste buds for greatness. Final score: Tappo: 38 My Patience: 14 Alfredo Pasta: MVP Mushroom Sausage Pasta: Heisman Winner Manager Comping My Drink: National Treasure

For a pre-concert dinner before a show at the KeyBank Center, a group of twelve of us had a reservation at Tappo.. We were seated immediately upon arrival. The food was delicious. The warm bread and stuffed peppers were fantastic. The lasagna and meatball bomber sandwiches were both big hits. The pork ragu and pasta was reported tasty as well. The restaurant had a good selection of wines, with options ranging from reasonably priced house botttles at $18 (we had the California cab) to more premium options. We were seated at a high-top table, which was perfect for our group. I also noticed the rooftop area, but I wasn't sure if it was open. I've seen it busy during the winter, though (igloos). We always enjoy going to Tapo because it offers a great mix of quality food and a wonderful atmosphere.

Google
The food was amazing! Its a little pricey, but you get a lot and its delicious! They were really busy when we went so the service wasnt the best, but they were at least nice. I recommend it. Lovely rooftop seating with a bar!

Portions are huge!! The calamari sauce was so good I didn't even get time to take a picture we scarfed it down. Krissia was so friendly and very attentive. The Italian sandwich was like Mississippi roast on fresh bread. The Alfredo also felt homemade.

We came for dinner and because we came during lent, they were serving fish fries. I had visited once before and got the eggplant parm which was very good and I wish I did that this visit, too. The fish fry itself was boring in taste but the tartar sauce did help add a little dimension. The coleslaw was good and the mac salad was great but did not have enough noodles. We got the brussel sprouts to start and they were great! My boyfriend got the meatballs and said they were the perfect texture and flavor. Our waitress was so sweet and the vibe is very open and nice. We will probably be back but will opt for their regular menu.

Yelp
I am so so picky when it comes to Italian (being married to an Italian who creates his own sauce). But Tappo was wonderful. We went during resturant week and what a steal, $25 got me a casear salad, spaghetti and meatballs with a small assortment of desserts. I also grabbed truffle fries which we a special. THOSE should be a permanent thing. The meatballs were ginormous, they should (and i believe ARE) a meal themselves. My only only gripe is that you have to pay for the bread as an app. But that's just the carb lover in me. With it being restaurant week, it was busy for a Wednesday but our server was on her toes and made sure our drinks were full all the time and everything came out promptly. One thing I want to note, that I did not take advantage of is there is FREE parking as long as there's space. This was true for the day I went, not sure if that is always. But there is a small lot across the street that you can park at. I paid the $6.75 in the ramp that is basically next to the resturant.

Yelp
One of my favorite spots to grab a meal before a production at Shea's. Great walking distance to the theatre, but more importantly service that assures your meal can go at the pace you desire, and the food is always great - I like to think of it as "lighter Italian." Best part, always $18 bottles of house wine Pleasantly surprised to walk in to some beautiful holiday decorations and decor already in full effect - very festive.

Yelp
I love Tappo. It's a staple of Buffalo. We went here on a Friday night and it was great! I got a cocktail from their drink specials menu that had infused Honey Nut Cheerios and an ice cube with a little heart shaped cheerio - it was delish! I ordered the fish fry special which was great. The Mac salad was so unique - tasted great. Matt wasn't so impressed with the steak sadly, it was a bit tough and kind of hard to cut. But his fries were very delish, they had just the slightest taste of truffle - perfection! I think my favorite part of the whole meal was the bread pudding. My heavens, it was delicious. I will be coming back for that! Next time I want to try the chicken Milanese and I think Matt will be sticking to that dish as well - his fav in Buffalo. Service was excellent, our waitress was so sweet and took great care of us! The owner is lovely, very friendly, all smiles, checked up on us to make sure everything was up to standard. Can't ask for nicer service! Ambiance is lovely as ever in here. Lighting is good, seating is comfortable. Gets a little loud but nothing crazy. Will be coming back soon!

Yelp
Get the meatball bomber, sit outside and enjoy the rooftop. Can't beat it outside in the summer! Great food, great place and pretty reasonably priced.

Tanbirul E.

Yelp
One-star nightmare. The bartender spent more time flirting with a customer than paying attention to anyone else in the room. He seemed like he was on some sort of drugs. We waited over 30 minutes just to place an order, and then another 20 minutes to pay the bill--no sense of urgency, no apology, just indifference. The glass we were served was dirty, leaving a gritty film on the rim. Our drinks tasted awful, and my friend's beer was ruined by a spoiled lime floating in it. To make matters worse, we waited 30 minutes after ordering our food only to find out the order never went in at all. A complete breakdown in service from start to finish. I wouldn't return, and I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone looking for a decent meal or decent service.

Yelp
We did the rooftop igloo dinner with 8 of us! It was actually quite nice! You get to pick two bottles of wine, two entrees, and desserts all in advance before we even got there. Don't was awesome having everything set up for us. It was definitely a little chilly, since it was 25 degrees outside, but the little heater and the body heat from everyone made it bearable. Couldn't have got above 60-65 degrees. We all dressed warm and were comfortable. Jackie was our server and she was great, accommodated to our needs. The food was awesome and everyone was full afterwards! The meatballs were probably the best meatballs I've ever had. I would recommend trying the rooftop bar if you're looking for a fun experience!

Yelp
Visiting Buffalo for a work conference. I saw some good reviews of Tappo so I walked over & sat at the bar for dinner. Good sized bar with plenty of seats & open windows. Enjoyed a Caesar salad & lasagna for my entree. Bartender was friendly & attentive. I highly recommend!

Yelp
If you have the opportunity I would highly recommend enjoying the Igloo dining experience. You get great views of the city and it's such a cool unique experience. They give you a bottle of wine , bread, salad, chicken Cutlets, gorgonzola pasta, rigatoni and a trio of desserts and a peppermint spiked hot chocolate to go with.Everything was hot , tasty and delicious. The service was fast and friendly. I definitely had a great time and experience and will be back to try this again.Have also had their spaghetti and meatballs downstairs in the past and it's very tasty too.

Yelp
The igloo dinner is a must. You get a bottle of wine, bread, salad, rigatoni, chicken cutlets, gorgonzola pasta, dessert trio and a spiked Peppermint hot chocolate to top it off. With speedy service and a smile the food came in hot and delish. This experience has great scenery and should not be missed.I will definitely make a return visit.Have also dined downstairs and the spaghetti and meatballs is marvelous.

Yelp
Came for drink and dinner before sheas. The espresso martinis had a spritz of lemon, which I've never seen, and were SO good! I also ordered the stuffed banana peppers and they were perfection. Some of the best tasting and most beautifully presented I've ever had. Tons of parking and a quick 5 minute walk to the theater

Yelp
Tappo is always great for an after-work happy hour, accessible for folks new to wine and looking to try and explore wines and could be a great date night for people not looking to bust the bank. Their Calebrese flatbread cannot be missed! Best food on the menu. That said, bar service is usually more miss than hit (whether for drinks or for food), especially when the bar is more than half full, and the meatballs are usually over worked or over seasoned. Other than that, I'm glad it's an option downtown after work and it's a safe bet.
google avatar

Yelp
During my most recent visit, we booked an igloo to celebrate a birthday with family. I mentioned in the reservation that it was for a birthday but they didn't acknowledge it. The igloo technically seats 8 but if you want to be comfortable I wouldn't have more than 6. We had 5 and the table was full since all the food and drinks are served family style. We ordered the igloo package that included the ribeye steak and so glad we did because that was the best. I love their meatballs and red sauce but would've been happy with more meatballs (and less or no rigatoni). The Italian Sausage Orecchiette Pasta in a White Wine & Garlic Sauce was also delicious, as well as the dessert tray which included 3 small pieces of desserts per person. There was so much food that all 5 of us each left with a packed box of leftovers! The igloos have heaters and music. It's a great experience and I'd recommend trying it at least once!

Yelp
The stuffed peppers are my absolute favorite! They are always good! The other food can be a hit or a miss for me, sometimes the pasta specials are incredibly delicious. The vibes are really fun, very lively! The service is great- very helpful!

Yelp
We went to the roof top to listen to Jazz on Monday. The food and drinks were great! Service was awesome! A really engaging crowd, definitely will be my go ro spot when I come back to Buffalo!
google avatar

Yelp
Our Waitress was very pleasant and attentive. The food on a 1 to 10 in my opinion was maybe a two or three I ordered the scallops and they were so fishy I couldn't eat more than half a bite.
google avatar

Shawn C.

Yelp
Had an amazing fun meal here. Lively crowd got a little loud, that's why I say fun, not romantic (but I didn't have dinner in a private igloo). Service was affable. I recommend for an enjoyable evening.

Yelp
Excellent service! Excellent food! I am Sicilian-Italian and seldom eat at Italian restaurants as my cooking is better most of them. Tappo's is a delightful exception. The food is well-presented, delicious and servings are ample. Bring your appetite! The pasta sauce, the orecchiette special and the Caesar salad were all first rate. The Calamari is to die for! We dined there for the first time a few days ago. We will definitely return! Brava!

Pamela A.

Yelp
Wonderful dining experience. The food was delicious. The service was great. They were very attentive to our needs. We will definitely eat there again.

Yelp
Tappo's rooftop is absolutely unbeatable. If you want a nice, Italian dinner with a great view, this is the place. I had the chicken piccata tonight and although it wasn't traditional chicken piccata, it was delicious. I would warn you that it's pretty different though. Hard to describe but it was still really good and had capers! $10 bottle of Wednesdays are also hard to beat!! I had the Chardonnay and thought it was going to be not so great (understatement) but it was actually pretty good.
google avatar

Matthew S.

Yelp
The food was fabulous! Fresh and full of flavor. Service was very good. We highly recommend this place!
google avatar

Yelp
I hadn't been here in roughly a decade and was so happy to see they're as good as ever! The food was delicious, the decor and ambiance are so enjoyable, and the cheap bottles of wine are still awesome!

Yelp
Visiting a friend in Buffalo and this place had some gluten free options for me! The front host was very friendly and found us a table for my friend and I on a busy Saturday night. I got a delicious drink I believe it was called "Crann you dig it", my friend and I both enjoyed our drinks. The caesar salad (gf style) was refreshing although it was a bit tangy. It might of had vinegar in it, I had never tasted a caesar salad like that. I ordered the fettuccini alfredo with gluten free pasta and it was absolutely delicious. The sauce was creamy and flavorful, and the gf pasta was cooked perfectly; not at all mushy. The only issue I ran into was towards the end of my meal, I found a hair underneath the sauce. I tried convincing myself it was mine, but after finding another 2 under more sauce and pasta... I urgently got our server. The manager and server were helpful in getting it figured out and getting that taken off our bill and sent back to the kitchen. I would rate this place 5/5 stars if I didn't get bad luck with the hairs... the gluten free pasta was delicious and they have many options. The staff and manager were very friendly, and handled the situation very professionally.

Yelp
The food was fantastic the roof top experience was fantastic and Mike was our server he was fantastic I can't say enough good stuff about him

Yelp
This review is on the NYE event held at the museum catered by Tappo. From the moment the doors opened the event was a disappointment. Purchased VIP tickets only to be told at the event there was no VIP service as promoted, all tickets sold were VIP - seemed sketchy to me. Tickets included a buffet, hosted by Tappo, you would expect great food. Nope cold Roast Beef sandwiches, chicken (drumsticks and thighs) Cesar salad, potato salad and I think a Mac salad. There was a single file line (one) for the entire 3 floor event. By the time the line was short enough to stand in and wait (still 20 minutes), there was no roast beef, no Cesar salad and the women who had been carrying uncovered trays of food through the crowd, said "they are outta roast beef". Let me say that again, carrying UNCOVERED trays of food three floors, through the crowd! At some point they ran out of forks and people were using pickle forks til a box of plastic forks was brought up and put on the floor. Now while waiting to get in the buffet line people are leaving their used plates and cups everywhere as there was one trash can and it was back by the food! Dirty plates, empty beer cans and bottle were placed at the water station table next to the cups at tables where people were eating and on museum displays. There weren't enough people working to clean things up until they closed the buffet. Alcohol - again purchased VIP tickets so I "don't have to wait in line" as promoted. There was line but worse was the fact that the bar ran out of vodka, big ditch beer, cranberry juice and ice!!! Champagne toast - you'd think but at 11:55 pm, I saw one try of champagne on the second floor being passed out, you can imagine how long that lasted. There is so much more I could talk about but why bother. I reached out to speak with the owners but they weren't interested to hear what I had to say. This event has left such a sour taste, I won't be frequenting Tappo either, they don't deserve my money and they don't seem to care.

Yelp
It's been a while since I was last here and it is just as i remembered. The place was fairly busy for a Tuesday night. It looked like girls night out around the room. We had the stuffed peppers, meatballs, and Brussel sprouts for apps. The peppers were presented well with a fried egg on top and served over garlic toast. The pepper had a decent snap to its body, wasn't too spicy, and had good flavor. Meatballs were good - pretty standard, nice portion to share. The sprouts won. Crispy salty tasty perfection. I had the eggplant parm as dinner. The eggplant was cooked well and had a nice crispy texture. Of course it was smothered with mozzarella, a nice surprise was the ricotta between the mozzarella and eggplant. I like this place. It's good food and fairly priced. And you might just catch another girls night!

Keirstin E.

Yelp
Service was great. Food was amazing and served within a reasonable time It was not too loud or over crowded. Very spacious restaurant and kind welcoming staff and management.
google avatar

Yelp
Great food! Stuffed peppers and spaghetti and meatballs were both recommended by other guests and the bartender. We added the Italian bread with herb seasoned olive oil. Great flavor and appropriate portions.... Well rather generous actually and priced reasonably. Wine was $18/bottle for a variety of wines. If you don't drink it all they can put it in a sealed bag for you to take home. We also enjoyed the coffee. It's Monday night and we arrived just after 6 pm on our way from Canada to points further south. We had never stopped in Buffalo before. Not many guests when we arrived but by the time we left at 7:30 it was 3/4 full. That is impressive for the beginning of the week. Bartender, Ken, was friendly, attentive and timely on his service to us. Ambiance was friendly and very comfortable. Soft lighting and easy to converse without having to raise your voice. We would return!

Yelp
The food was fresh and creative. Love a good roof top bar. The service wasn't the quickest but my waitress for super friendly and helpful with answering menu questions. Will definitely be back.
google avatar

Shaharazade G.

Yelp
The food was decent I really liked the cocktails. I forgot the name of what I ordered but it was a pasta dish with sausage and tomatoes in it. I ordered it without the sausage and asked for rigatoni noodles. It was okay. I wish their menu had more options tho.
google avatar

Jennifer H.

Yelp
I've eaten here and just came for drinks a few times. Italian fare. Friendly staff. Decent wine selection. Booked an igloo for my birthday in winter. The process was easy and the staff member in charge was communicative. They got everything right except for one meal but everyone had a good time. It was priced well for all the courses and drinks you get. Nice spot downtown, mostly street parking and parking ramps. You'll likely need a reservation especially for the weekends. Menu selection is pretty good but could be better. Cannoli was not that great so don't waste your dessert on that lol.
google avatar

Nico ..

Yelp
Consistency! That's what you will always get at Tappo! It's hands down one of the BEST Italian restaurants in Buffalo! The atmosphere is always amazing! The meatballs, cheesy garlic bread and the tossed salads are always my go to dishes!
google avatar

Kate B.

Yelp
Perfect summer rooftop dining experience. My friend and I dined on a Wednesday evening around 7:30 PM. There were a few tables open the roof, unfortunate that you can't reserve them. I had a mai tai and the eggplant Parmesan. We also got some cheesy bread that was well worth it!! My friend got a beet salad without the beets. Everything was delicious. The eggplant Parmesan was perfect and the ricotta on top of it it was very fluffy and savory. I didn't expect my dish to come with a whole bowl of spaghetti as well! I didn't even touch that and just took it home! Bummed that they ran out of chocolate mousse by the time we ordered dessert but we will be back! Great atmosphere with the umbrellas and lights on the roof! Very cool place in Buffalo!
google avatar

Kari C.

Yelp
We decided on going to Tappo based on reviews and it was an amazing decision. The food, service and experience were hands down amazing. I really enjoyed the eggplant Parmesan and the ricotta scoops on top were amazing. *chef's kiss* My husband enjoyed the steak immensely and the service was prompt and super friendly. We were blown away.
google avatar

Myra C.

Yelp
The food was delicious, we started with warm Italian breads so soft, with some butter on the side. I ordered vegan marinara sauce over spaghetti, I added grilled chicken sipped it down with some lemon water. The service was great the waiter answered all my Questions, I had about the menu and she also made some suggestions & I was able to substitute. The ambiance, it's a beautiful and relaxed restaurant, but if your looking for a quiet dinner this is definitely not the place. There is also a nice bar, you can also order food there, & watch a game. I can't wait to go back because I love good Italian food! & great service. I didn't take much pics, because the food was so good! Oh yeah they also have a roof top area to sit..
google avatar

Greg O.

Yelp
Rented an igloo for a birthday. There were 5 of us which was a good size, maybe 6 would fit but with all the food I don't think you could do 8 people even though they say you can do up to 8. The food was delicious. We had the ribeye, a pasta in red sauce with meatballs on the side, and a pasta with vegetables and Italian sausage crumbles. The package came with 2 bottles of wine, we chose a rose and a red, both were good.
google avatar

Claire S.

Yelp
I hadn't been to Tappo since before 2020 and wanted to go back! I remember loving the dark red and black ambiance. I made the mistake of going graduation weekend so there were tons of loud groups. The cheesy garlic bread was the highlight for sure - favorite menu item. Meatballs and pork stuffed balls were okay. I would probably only go back with a larger group. I didn't enjoy it for 2 people trying to have a conversation.
google avatar

Esh W.

Yelp
If you like Italian food and good wine, this is the place for you! My favorite thing about Tappo is their consistency. I have been going here for years, have gotten a lot of different items on the menu, but also have my favorite go to options, and the quality is always the same. I enjoy them a lot. And the portions will leave you with left overs that reheat just as well. My favorite items on the menu are the eggplant parm and the lasagna. And you have to start with the garlic cheese bread!!! I usually opt for the bottle of wine. With the price it only makes sense. There is indoor and outdoor seating. They now also have igloo rental packages for a special experience with a group of your favorite people (https://www.tappoitalian.com/igloo-rentals-2021-2022/). The restaurant itself is a nice size and great for groups. There's no specific dress code but it is a nicer restaurant with a casual atmosphere. They also have a huge bar which is great for people who want to come alone or just enjoy the company of the bartenders and a big screen TV. Treat yourself, or enjoy a good time with friends and enjoy one of the best Italian restaurants in Buffalo.
google avatar

Christopher M.

Yelp
I took my out-of-town friends there for dinner Saturday and it was first time for each of us. Everything was perfect. Jackie was our server and she couldn't have been better. 100% perfect service. The food was also very good. I had the braciole entree and bread pudding for dessert. It was very busy and all patrons seemed to be having a great time. I will definitely return.
google avatar

Yelp
Really? Move people from a table? Perhaps because it wasn't a heavy drinking table? Weird. Unwelcoming.
google avatar

Janus C.

Yelp
Been here a few times, food is consistent and on the affordable side! Would say it's a safe place, but there are admittedly better restaurants in the area.

Ashley G.

Yelp
Found this place for a dinner with my boyfriend. They accepted reservations pretty far in advance which was really convenient. They even called to confirm the day of. The food was outstanding and very reasonably priced for the portions you get. Overall a really good experience. Definitely would recommend sitting upstairs for nice views!
google avatar

Susan N.

Yelp
I've been dying to try this place out and finally had the chance on a Friday evening. The place was packed so I recommend making a reservation! I had dinner with a few girl friends and we sat in the green house which was pretty cool. Our waitress was friendly and attentive! We ordered a few Jell-O shots and two bottles of wine to start. I opted for the Alla Vodka Pasta with Sausage which was absolutely delicious!!! The pasta was cooked to perfection and I thought the flavors were totally on point. I had a great time here and would definitely come back. One downside was the parking. Since there was a Blue Jays game that night, finding parking was tough but there is a garage to the side where the first two hours are free after a certain time.
google avatar

Dot K.

Yelp
First let me state that our evening was courtesy of a very generous gift card that I won at an event for Friends of the Night People. Kudos to Tappo for donating! I came on a Friday evening for dinner with a group of 3. I had Spaghetti and Meatballs which was too spicy for my liking. Another guest ordered the Beef Sandwich and loved it, but wished there had been some au jus for dipping. Another had gluten free Fettuccine Alfredo and really enjoyed it. Caesar Salad and Meatball appetizer were both very good. Pumpkin Creme Brulee was delicious but small.

Yelp
Last night was my second time at Tappo and overall it was lackluster. We came with another couple and made last minute reservations and snagged an outdoor table. The table was situated outdoors in the parking lot adjacent to the restaurant. It was nice to get some fresh air and we were still a bit uncomfortable to eat in doors. Their menu offers largely Italian-style dishes. The menu was paper that didn't include descriptions for all of the entrees which made it a little challenging to order without asking the server about every item. We started with waters and a round of drinks. I got the Loganmule which was okay but nothing out of the park. My group ordered a few appetizers including the cheese board, soup, olives and a board with prosciutto etc. Overall the appetizers all tasted like they were taken out of a grocery store and were way overpriced for the presentation and quality. For $13 we barely got any prosciutto / salami to share among 4 people. The cheese board was also not of good quality for the price. So far, the service was very slow but the server was very nice and apologetic saying it was busier than they anticipated. Onto the entrees, I had the chicken Milanese which was two chicken cutlets and a ?spinach salad that was drowning in dressing. It was an okay entree, but definitely not worth what I paid. Overall, it was nice to sit outside and enjoy the fresh air, however the drinks, appetizers and entrees were very lacking in quality. It's not that everything was not good, just not worth the price tag for the quality.

Yelp
I've been dining at Tappo for years. It used to be quite consistent, but, unfortunately my latest visit left me very disappointed. Their former salad used to be similar to a garden salad with romaine, the option now is an overdressed "tossed salad" which is similar to the Olive Garden version without croutons. It's iceberg lettuce, some cucumbers, red onions, and while it's listed to have cherry tomatoes - mine was absent of them. For $9, I would expect a little more For entrees, I got the Imported Black Truffle Pasta. Just overall an average dish. The prosciutto was plentiful, and they add I believe brocollini for some balance, but I think the cream sauce lacked any stand out flavor. The 18oz ribeye wasn't medium rare and the mushroom sauce seemed to be reheated with a microwave. Service was average. I've never received a canned beer without a glass, and aside from the "how were your first bites?" question, we did see the server over at the host station on their phone. I'm just underwhelmed because I really enjoyed coming here, and raved about it, so to bring a guest and have it be so bad, it's upsetting.

Yelp
Have a party on this rooftop! Our group had such a blast here. The vegetarian orecchiette was DELICIOUS and reminded me of mama. The n/a cocktail was a nice surprise offering! The staff was on top of it, and taking such good care of us, all while seemingly having fun doing it! :)

Yelp
Always a winner. Great service and great food. The lasagna can't be beat. Lately I have gone with the shrimp risotto which is outstanding. And start it off with stuffed banana peppers. Been here many times, always great

Yelp
Last night a friend and I dined here and had 7pm reservations. We had garlic cheese bread and Italian Wedding Soup as appetizers and Spaghetti and Meatballs as our entrées. Our server was Alex and very friendly and efficient, however the wait time to receive apps and dinner seemed a bit much. To be fair, Alex had many tables and the restaurant was hopping. The food was delicious and I would definitely return when visiting Buffalo.
