Dropped in for a quick cocktail before the Ballyhoo! concert last night and we were totally blown away. We had our 10yr old son with us and Khaelo did a great job finding the perfect non-alcoholic but still FUN and tasty drink for him. So good in fact, that my wife ordered the same thing (just with alcohol). We felt very taken care of and like he went the extra mile, even though it was just a kids drink. Oh, and our adult drink were freaking perfect! Will be coming by for date night very soon.

Recently came here for the first time and was very impressed! Walking past the entrance on Main Street, you wouldn't expect much, but as soon as you walk through the door, it feels like you stepped into a speakeasy. It's really cool! The ambiance inside is very classy and intimate. Loved the vibe of the whole place. The backdrop of the distillery behind the bar is so cool! The bartenders are all really nice and super helpful. They explain the drinks so well and don't rush you at all. Every drink we tried, we enjoyed! Personally, I ordered the Penny Chillin' and loved it! Such a good cocktail - I would definitely recommend it. Whether you're sitting at the bar or in a booth, you have a great seat in here. Next time you're walking down Main, you need to stop in at Arizona Distilling Co., this place is awesome!

This is hands down the best cocktail bar I’ve ever been to! Dob, Eric, Kalo and Cami are amazing bartenders—they make incredible drinks and always bring great energy. The atmosphere here is welcoming, safe, and feels like a true community. Whether you’re a regular or a first-timer, you’ll feel right at home. Highly recommend!

This place is awesome! I stumbled upon it when I was in downtown Mesa for a concert. The ambiance is perfection and the service is next level. I cant wait to return to try another one of their cocktail creations. I had the "petal to the metal". It was delightful!

Tried this place on a Saturday! Is definitely a speakeasy smooth Jazz spot. Nice, cool, straight vibe in the hot 111 degrees outside. Very knowledgeable bartender

Date night with Wifey, dropped in and tossed back a few. Definitely a cool spot, great drinks. Caleb was awesome and knowledgeable. Downtown Mesa is great for a bar crawl.🤪🍻

Yelp
I love the chill vibe of this bar. The lights are dimmed and the booths are cozy. You get a nice view of the distillation tanks in the background as you sip your drink at the round copper-topped bar. Arizona Distilling is located in the heart of Downtown Mesa. Since moving to Mesa, I have been enjoying checking out the downtown area and what it has to offer. This is great laid-back place to grab a drink. The Arizona Distilling is the Valley's first whiskey distillery. I'm a big whiskey person and love that this place exists. Arizona Distilling serves up craft cocktails made up of their own spirits. I have tried a couple drinks while here. The Penny Chillin' was my first drink. It is a nice mix of bourbon and ginger that was recommended by my server. There are a varierty of drinks to choose from in their menu. The bartenders are great and will wow you with their knowledge these craft cocktails. If you love a good cocktail in a chill setting, Arizona Distilling is a good one to check out. There are lots of food options within walking distance. The Metro light rail makes a stop not too far from here or just park for free on any of the side streets nearby. Swing by for early happy hour for discounted drinks.

Yelp
Arizona Distilling is one of those places that surprises you when you walk in - unassuming from the outside, but inside is a cool, dark, sexy, and vibey cocktail bar! In the words of Miss Yelp Ambassador, hubba hubba! Walking in, you see the entire seating area... and it's a wide open setup, from the centralized bar area with seating all around to the comfy oversized booths along the sides! In the back, you can see where all the distilling magic happens through the large glass wall! It's gorgeous and everything you think of when you imagine the perfect intimate setting for a cocktail bar. I opted for the Rebel's Son - a wonderful mix of Copper City Rye, Dopo Teatro Vino Amaro, Rosemary, Elderflower, Lemon, and Cinnamon! Wowza, it's delicious!! Bartender's are friendly and happily willing to offer drink suggestions and steer you in the right direction for your tastes! Arizona Distilling is one of those places that I cannot wait to return - to start off a night out... for happy hour... or for a night cap! A well-earned FIVE STARS! *****FIVE STARS*****

Yelp
Put me in front of a cleverly and carefully crafted cocktail and I become a Victorian man seeing a woman's ankle for the first time. Hubba hubba. Emeralds, copper, and a giant mural of the Arizona state flag. This dimly lit spot has given me my top two favorite cocktails I've had in 2025 so far. I thought my drink of the Beets & Rhymes was the best drink until my friend allowed me a sip of her Yuz Me Up. That was easily the best cocktail I've had all year. Citrusy, bright, with a lovely perfume of cilantro. If you're one of the ones that taste soap when having cilantro, you won't like this drink. As a cilantro lover though, I dig. I would come back for this cocktail, followed by the Beets & Rhythm (the beets will lower the liver enzymes after all the booze, okay?). Cheers, Yelpers! Come here. They make most of their spirits so rest assured that you are getting a taste of 'Zona and high-quality alcohol.

Yelp
Note** there are 2 listings when I searched for AZ distilling and I'm not sure what is difference. Hopefully I picked the correct one in DT Mesa. This location has really come to life and it's great to see it! We used to go to the Tempe spot and it's nice what they've done here in Mesa. We came here last year shortly after it opened and we were just 2 of 4 ppl inside. It was new and unknown. That has changed, it was full! Congrats to them! The cocktails are great! I absolutely loved the clarified milk punch I had. One of the best ones I have ever tasted and I order them everywhere I can. Service was excellent. Vibe was fun and a good Time. My only thing I didn't like is that music was SO loud we were yelling across the table. I don't mind loud music in the right context- dancing at a club, etc. but at a cocktail bar with tables where you want to chat and interact with friends it's challenging. We would have stayed longer if not for that. One taken for that but otherwise it was perfect :)

Yelp
Stopped in after dinner for some drinks. The place we pretty quiet so plenty of seats. Very cool Looking bar. This is the second time over here and finally thought I should write a review. Love this place. Good selection and finely crafted drinks. We tried a few different things but the whiskey was my favorite.

Yelp
What a gem! When we walked in we felt like we entered into another world. Beautiful, sophisticated atmosphere. Our drinks were so smooth and so well made. The bartenders are so skilled!

Yelp
Arizona Distilling offers awesome cocktail choices, from the traditional to the incredibly creative. Some are like an alcoholic dessert in a glass, others are like a stiff version of a healthy juice. There are even tasty options for non-drinkers. The bar is cozy and social all at the same time, and the bartenders are super friendly. I'm looking forward to going back to this place, for sure.

Yelp
Arizona Distilling is a cool of the addition to Downtown Mesa. This place has a vibe that instantly makes you feel welcome--trendy yet unpretentious, with just the right touch of local flair. The drink menu is where the magic happens. From expertly crafted cocktails to their impressive selection of locally distilled spirits, every sip feels like it's made with care and creativity. Whether you're into a classic Old Fashioned or looking for something with a desert-inspired twist, they've got you covered. The atmosphere is perfect for any occasion--chill enough for a casual night out with friends but stylish enough to impress on a date night. The décor strikes a great balance between modern and rustic, giving the space a unique character that fits right into the heart of Mesa. Arizona Distilling is more than just a place to grab a drink; it's a destination that adds energy and personality to Downtown Mesa.

Yelp
Nice cocktail place in Downtown. We stopped by to try a few of the breweries but were pleasantly surprised by the delicious cocktails here. Place has a nice atmosphere, but the bar seats are kind of super low to the ground ... lol. All the cocktails we tried were good, prices ran around $15 per drink. Service was pleasant.

Yelp
AZ Distilling is simply irresistible!! The vibe is dark, yet lively! We were there on a Saturday night. The music was blasting! It didn't quite hit the ear bleeding spectrum, but it was close! It would be nice to keep the music on the softer side so we could enjoy our friends' company and have meaningful conversations without screaming at each other. Hint, hint, AZ Distilling... Aside from this, the venue was incredible! Especially after I got a sip of the Yuz Me Up! That drink is dangerously sensational! By far, my favorite drink of 2025! Or better yet, my entire life! I absolutely will be back to get Yuzed up! Yuz me as much as you like! As long as I'm getting Yuzed by Yuz Me Up, I'm a happy camper! Our server was super friendly, funny, and knowledgeable, and a cocktail magician! He gave us awesome drink suggestions, and made our drinks hella good! I can't wait to get Yuzed up again!!

Yelp
It's a must to ask for Micha and ask for a dealer's choice!!! Try the Beach please drink!!! To die for!!! He created it and I swear it's like a tropical beach palette!! He also made a passion fruit Fri k and a strawberry drink. The no Cap is delicious, excellent service

Yelp
We were sad to see the Tempe location of AZ Distilling close, so when we found out about this location, we knew we wanted to stop by. This place's oozes ambiance. It's dark and brooding and I felt like my cool factor went up just by stepping into the place. We were happy to find out that we were there for happy hour which runs from 4-6 pm and offers 20% off drinks. You really can't go wrong with any drink you choose because the recipes are varied and tasty and the bartenders are talented. This is a great date spot!

Yelp
This place is worth going to for a fun day out to do the tour, learn about distilling, have some tasting samples and then have a couple craft cocktails at their beautiful bar. I made reservations and bought tickets online for a Saturday 12:00 p.m. tour in Mesa AZ, very reasonably priced. We arrived in Mesa, very easy free public parking right behind the distillery. When you walk in the vibe is super sultry, beautiful bar. Jason the owner gave the tour, we were only only ones for 12, so it was a private tour. Jason was great, nice and very informative, passionate about his product. Olivia, the distiller Assistant was also in the tour, very friendly. At the end we had 4 complimentary samples. When the tour was done, of course my friend and I couldn't resist having a cocktail at the gorgeous bar, by this time there were quit a few customer enjoying themselves. We had a Old Fashion and a Verde Valley, both excellent. Keep in mind, they do not serve food, but you have some great dining places within walking distance, if you need to eat. Atmosphere: the bar is gorgeous very sultry. Cocktails: excellent. Service: excellent. The tour is worth it (short and informative)

Yelp
Highly recommend!!!! Great vibe! Excellent music. Awesome bar tender. The drinks were interesting and tasty. Very chill and relaxing.

Yelp
Went back to AZ and we couldn't resist not stopping by for a couple drinks. Kalo (bartender) is awesome, very informative, upbeat and social. Came back with a bottle of their bourbon.

Yelp
If you haven't been here, you have to. I highly recommend this bar. From the outside, it looks like it might not be open, but it is. This bar is different from the other bars on Main Street. It has a classy, intimate feel to it. Yet it doesn't feel snobbish. The bartender was amazing. He just had the best attitude. He answered questions and made suggestions. Watching him make our drinks was like watching a magic show. The drinks were amazing. I first had a dirty martini, which is one of my favorites. I also had a violet femme, and that was amazing. I was not aware that this is their second location. The Mesa location offers a one hour tour for $10 that includes 3 samples. You can book online. I am definitely planning to attend a tour and have another violet femme very soon.
google avatar

Amanda L.

Yelp
I don't understand the hype. It was a dark and dingy dive bar cosplaying as a speakeasy.
google avatar

Ryen B.

Yelp
Place was quiet on a Saturday night. Grabbed a drink and a bar plate. Violet Femme was pretty, but a little too sweet for me. Bar plate was fine if you need something to snack on. Would come back to try the pizzas.
google avatar

Hungrytommy ..

Yelp
The bar is really beautiful and they make excellent cocktails. I was surprised it wasn't more crowded, but it was a weeknight.
google avatar

Pri P.

Yelp
This is one of our favorite local bars. The Mesa location is not closed, it is the Tempe location that is closed! The cocktails are always delicious and it is great ambience. Highly recommend
google avatar

Yelp
Pretty cool copper top distillery with really nice cocktails. Attentive staff as well.
google avatar

Eric G.

Yelp
Stunning drink menu, in an equally unique setting. Bar and tables are topped in copper, in a cool dark setting beyond which are the brightly lit distillery works. The set drink menu is amazing, covering all their spirits and all variety of flavor styles. They also serve some beers and wines which we did not try. Later in our stay we decided to let the expert mixologists surprise us with drinks based on some general guidelines. When I said "make something with gin, which is tropical and not sweet", I was rewarded with an amazing cocktail featuring Yuzu pineapple sake and gin - hands down best cocktail of the night. Well done. Highly recommend this place.
google avatar

Sherry K.

Yelp
Great place to meet up with a friend and enjoy a great drink. The bartenders are friendly and explain their ingredients to their speciality drinks.
google avatar

Brian B.

Yelp
We absolutely love Arizona Distilling! Everything they make is just so smooth and uniquely flavored. You can't get it anywhere else. The service is unparalleled, they will hand deliver your cases when they run into shipping delays, absolutely incredible. If you go into the tasting room you will be a in a comfy, luxurious, yet casual place to just sit back and sip. A must try if you have not. Personal recommendations are: Commerce City Gin with Trader Joe's limeade or Mission vodka with Trader Joe's pink lemonade
google avatar

David L.

Yelp
Great cocktails, including ones made using their own liquors. Bartenders are on-point; great service. Cool vibe, awesome copper horseshoe bar and booths, overlooking distilling equipment behind glass.
google avatar

Angie G.

Yelp
Came here for happy hour which is weekdays from 4:00 to 6:00 pm. They have craft cocktails for $8 which I think is a great deal. I got a dirty martini and a bee's knees cocktail, both delicious. They had wood fired pizza and we ended up going for an off the menu option recommended by the bartender. The vibe of the place is kind of moody and dark, fun place to catch up with friends over a drink.
google avatar

Jamie R.

Yelp
I remember seeing articles this gem was coming to Mesa and didn't hesitate to come check it out. The service was absolutely great. The bartenders were extremely friendly and helpful. The ambiance was lovely. It's darker inside which gives it a nice speakeasy feel to it. The paint and wood look great with the copper accents. You can smell the fresh wood as they just opened. They have a huge window where you can see where they make their liquor. This place does not sell food so keep that in mind! Their liquor is great and the variety of drink choices are great. We will be back and continue to support this local distillery!
google avatar

Nicole G.

Yelp
My expectations were blown out of the water here. Definitely not what the rest of downtown Mesa is in the best sense. The staff is so friendly and helpful. The bar is horseshoe shaped which makes for fun and interactive ambiance. Such a cool vibe and will b
google avatar

Vyvy H.

Yelp
Very cool, rustic local distillery; they also offer tours starting at 6PM. They distill their own Gin, Vodka, and Whiskeys including bourbon. Plenty of different selections for drinks, stirred, shaken, martinis, fruity cocktails, and flights of 4. Our bartender was very cool and flashy when mixing. If you like fruity; recommend the Dazed & Infused Ended up buying myself a bottle of their Bourbon - $35
google avatar

Stacy M.

Yelp
Delicious drinks albeit a little pricey. They don't have food and don't let you bring food in. The staff opens the bar later than the listed hours and closes the bar early so you can't depend on the hours listed on Google.
google avatar

Michael A.

Yelp
Service was awesome they are very helpful and knowable on the bourbons. Great atmosphere and cool bar design center stage, it is a bit dark if you have difficulty seeing but not so much where you can't see where you're walking. Strong drinks and good music.
google avatar

Robin P.

Yelp
Everything about this venue is awesome except...the music. The place gives off such a chill vibe, give me a little jazz. I don't need to hear music with such explicit lyrics. We're not in a club, It wasn't chill, not relaxing and definitely not vibing with it.
google avatar

Tom T.

Yelp
They could be doing such a better job of explaining and educating their customers about each of the spirits. Instead, the info is very sparse about what you're drinking (or could be). When we were there, there were absolutely zero descriptions of the spirits on their drink menu. That's a huge oversight for a distillery (or brewpub for that matter). So I asked to see the bottle. Well, the only info on it had to do with the history of the name. No tasting notes or specifics about the actual product. So bartender said, "maybe they have info on the website." Nope. Almost all "learn more" pages are devoid of any useful info. See pic for just one example. We got a flight and there were no markings on which pour was which, which would be a nice touch. The whiskey was ok, not great, and they only have their own stuff. Probably no need to return. Atmosphere is high-end, cool. Copper bar and kettles are neat and the lighting is warm. Except when they prop open the front door and destroy the loungey vibe. Parking is in back. Sadly, there is no patio at this location, meaning the business owner's pic on Yelp showing a cocktail on an outdoor table is from their Tempe location, not Mesa. Finally, I don't know if opening at 4pm (and not having food) is a smart strategy. We'll see.
google avatar

Julie U.

Yelp
The bar tender made a fantastic specialty cocktail. And the food was amazing. It's a staple for me!!
google avatar

Danika C.

Yelp
Some seriously amazing gin is made here! I hope these bottles will start to sell everywhere in AZ and beyond !

Dean N.

Yelp
Great cocktails, mixologist ready to answer questions and make adjustments, speakeasy vibe for ambiance.

Elizabeth P.

Yelp
The cocktails here are both sophisticated and original, crafted with a lot of thought and precision. What was meant to be a casual drink with a friend turned into a delightful experience with us each enjoying three drinks--no complaints there! The service was exceptional, and the ambiance is just as inviting, with cozy booths and stylish circular bar seating. The drink menu predominantly features whisky, gin, and vodka-based concoctions, each one expertly made. A perfect spot for anyone looking to enjoy a carefully curated cocktail in a modern low-lit setting. "It takes 42 seconds to acclimate to the dim lighting

Aimee W.

Yelp
It wasn't there. It's either moved or shut down. Completely empty so bummed as it looked amazing

Kyle M.

Yelp
Was expecting this place to just be a measley 3 star joint good for a drink or two, but BOY was I WRONG!!! The bourbon flight is fantastic, the lady got a spicy drink that got her feeling nicey, the bartender was full of life and the place gave some real nice cocktail bar vibes. I mean shoot I was tapping my foot the whole time to the music as well. Can't say enough good things about the old distilling co. Would recommend to anyone. I can't wait to go bowling
google avatar

Kiva C.

Yelp
Don't judge me but I stopped in here because a coffee shop around the corner was a bit of a cluster. Glad I stumbled upon this gem. There were some old fashioned vibes in here between the lighting, chairs, and decor but there was also a bit of a modern twist. Our bartender was incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and made the experience enjoyable. We drank our way through an old fashioned, gold rush, and bees knees during happy hour. While I'm an admittedly a bourbon snob, I really enjoyed the gold rush and would 10/10 recommend but I wasn't overly impressed with the old fashioned. The bees knees was also excellent and the experience was one I'd definitely come back for. Worth a stop in for a drink but don't sleep on their pizza- it slaps!

Christian B.

Yelp
Drinks and service were phenomenal. Staff was personable and answered all of our questions around the different cocktails. Atmosphere was very relaxing. Can't wait to be back.
google avatar

Nikole G.

Yelp
Nice group tour. We were told the history of the company- it was cute. We were able to do some tasting. Gin, tequila, and bourbon I believe... I'm sure I left with some hair growing on my chest! It was strong- ALL of them! I'm sure my grizzly gramps would love the stuff! Now the actual bar was sweet! Location was super cool and laid back, great location. Perfect place to sit and sip on a Shirley Temple! Just kidding! Cool spot to kick back and have some drinks with friends! Check it out!
google avatar

Dan M.

Yelp
At this point, I have toured 4 different distilleries in Arizona and so far AZ Distilling has been the best experience! Jason, the Master Distiller took us on a tour and shared a level of knowledge and history unmatched by other locals. His passion is evident in the products he produces. I found his Rye to be well balanced with a nice spice that finished smooth and not overly sweet. The Gin was a nice suprise. Without being juniper forward, it offers a nice citrus for balance and is soflt on the palet. Makes you wonder why anyone would drink some of the more familiar brands. The tour is well worth the money and I imagine I'll be back for more!
google avatar

Kristi C.

Yelp
What a great bar with amazing drinks! Service is awesome! Will definitely be back! Drinks are worth the money!
google avatar

Carrie R.

Yelp
I wasn't sure what to expect but LOVED this place. Unassuming on the outside, minimal decor on the inside aside from the plethora of the distilled bottles behind the bar. Menu consists of Classic cocktails and some with a twist. Fresh fruits and herbs made for refreshing concoctions on a hot Phoenix evening. The bartenders were super friendly and took great care in crafting our libations. All of this and the drinks were reasonably priced ($9-10)! I'm excited to go back !
google avatar

Elena M.

Yelp
Let me preface this review by saying I worked in the service industry and am extremely understanding of what anyone in hospitality goes through. This is solely a review on the service. We walked in on a Sunday night and sat at the bar. Everything was going fine, we picked up a menu and decided what we wanted. This is where it went wrong. We watched the bartender make 2 drinks for 10 minutes. He kept talking to the same customers. That's all fine and good, but he didn't even acknowledge, or say hi or hell be right with us. Just stared blankly at us occasionally. We wait for another 5 min and nothing. No acknowledgment whatsoever. We ended up going somewhere else. I can't tell you how the drinks were as we never got served. They looked good, but I can tell you there are many other establishments I would rather spend my money at.
google avatar

Yelp
Delicious Negroni and Whiskey Sour. Beautiful, cozy place. Ritchie and Jobe we're friendly and knowledgeable. We can't wait to go back.

Yelp
This is a great hyper-small business.... with the added value they produce and sell booze. I'm happy this place is finally up and running - I lived nearby and it sat vacant the entire year I lived on that side of Tempe. One of my friends let us know about their daily/weekly tours offered that are done by one of the 2 owners who has literally put his sweat n tears into this business. It's $10 for ~60-90 minutes of the E! True Hollywood story behind AZ Distilling plus some tastings after (if you're so inclined). Because they're very much an upstart, it's not a fancy tour. You go to the back of the building and one of the owners explains the general distilling process and what makes their process unique, as well as some local history tied in. They'll also answer just about any question you have about booze. It was most interesting to learn about people of who distill in Arizona have to be careful about the process because of the heat/angel's share. The Commerce Gin is what shines out of all of their alcohols IMO as it pays tribute to the 5 C's of Arizona and has a distinct taste by itself. I'd recommend getting it over ice or just neat. The vodka won me over too since it doesn't have that bite that most vodkas have when you first drink it. Can't wait to see them grow and gain more success than what they've already achieved!
