Johnny's Ristorante Italiano

Tried Johnny’s Ristorante Italiano after a friend recommended it — and wow, it was so good! I made the mistake of not making a reservation (I should’ve known it was going to be good or a long wait when they’re only open a few hours in the evening), but luckily the wait was only about 45 minutes. The service was great and the pasta was amazing. We did try the garlic bread, but it was kind of burnt and just okay, so I’d skip that next time. That said, I’ll definitely be back because the pasta alone was worth it!

Food and atmosphere was perfect which takes me directly to the main point why I gave 4 star instead of 5. Why would I toss out a perfectly delicious barely touched food? It was my wife and sons birthday and we simply wanted to leave room for dessert and asked to take out the food. The server took the food away and I assumed that’s their process for putting the food in box and bringing it back! We waited and waited and waited but no box came and when we asked, the server told us our food is tossed out. We were very disappointed, especially My wife who had a single bite from her food. I wish the server confirmed what we wanted! Seeing that we barely ate our food and it was untouched almost. This was our first time here and we had too much antipasti and also wanted dessert and was already full when the entrees arrived. We were looking forward to enjoy our entrees later at home or tomorrow. Other than this and the unusually long wait time to get our drinks, everything else was perfect.

The food was exceptional! Fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Every dish tasted like it was made with real care and high quality ingredients. Peter was our server and he was amazing, attentive, polite and fast. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience.

I grew up with the Italian side of my family and let me tell you…. I have been to SO many Italian restaurants HOPING to find one that I loved. I CANNOT say enough about the place. We made a reservation and as soon as we walked in the (owner?) manager knew my name. We were sat quickly. We had the antipasto appetizer. It doesn’t look like much but the flavor is an explosion in your mouth. I got a latte and my husband got the Jonny coffee (alcoholic). I normally do not like alcohol in my coffee but this was PHENOMENAL. We then shared a Caesar salad (another explanation in my mouth 😆). We then shared the shrimp scampi. My goodness. I WILL 1000% be back. I am hard to please when it comes to food 😆. So good, I forgot to take pictures. Great service!

Johnny’s, is really a spectacular place. I always sit in the bar area because it’s lively. The service is great. The people are wonderful. The people to come in. There are terrific. The food of course is unbelievable the drinks what a great jewel we have here in Reno. If you haven’t been, you’re missing out, you need to go the best Italian restaurant bar none

First time there. Perfect for a first date. Nice and fancy, but not so much so that it felt awkward and uncomfortable. Perfect for a long getting-to-know-you conversation volume and length of time at the table. And lots of big real smiles about the incredible food!

We have heard great reviews for years and finally made it over. We now know why it's so highly recommended. The ambiance is excellent, the food was fantastic and our service was equally great. Call ahead for reservations and plan to dress up for a nice evening out.

My husband and I took a parents only vacation to Reno, we heard that Johnny's has the best Italian cuisine in Reno so we decided to check it out! We ordered the penne sorento and the stuffed pork chop, the food was amazing! Our server Ali was awesome! She was attentive, and gave great food and drink suggestions😊 We told her we were from out of town and she gave us some recommendations of some fun bars and places we needed to visit! We are hoping to squeeze in one more trip to Johnny's before we leave and try some other dishes🤗 we will recommend this place to anyone visiting Reno and will for sure come back next time we are here!
