Friendly staff. The food is made fresh, chicken box is their hit menu item. Salt, Pepper, and ketchup all over chicken box hits everytime. Their cheesesteaks are decent but would be alot better if they had a better sub roll. Sometimes they are really busy and recommend calling in. Its in the hood and sometimes too many people hanging out in front of the store and in front of Bryan's Chicken spot two doors down.

I love this establishment and the food is always great, but the way the fries are packaged is disappointing. Putting fries loose in a bag and giving only a handful especially when the meal is nearly $20 is unacceptable. Please consider using proper containers that can hold a cheesesteak and fries together without compromising the portion or presentation.

⭐☆☆☆☆ I was very disappointed with my recent visit to **Royal Carry Out**. The seasoning on the chicken was not good at all, and the chicken itself was so hard that I could barely bite into it. The chicken box came with fries, but even that didn’t make up for the poor quality of the meal. The service was okay, but the food definitely wasn’t worth it. I hope they make improvements because this was not a good experience.

Royal Carryout is always busy. Order-taker is very courteous, efficient and accommodating. Hold on to the numbered ticket for your order as it is needed to release your order. All staff are very congenial. The store is clean. Menu has wide selection. There seems to be much hype about the special sauce. Many people asked for the special sauce for their orders.

ROYALS vs.... PARKS for the Fried Chicken Royals chicken was MUCH better seasoned FOR ME. The flavor of that fried chicken is 🎯 💯 🔥. I could eat it all day....EVERYDAY. It is crunchy and seasoned PERRRFECTLYYYY! The downside is I ordered 2 boxes w/Western Fries and only got SIX fries in each. And the SIZE OF THE WINGS IS COMPLETELY DISRESPECTFUL. I mean their "newborn/INFANT" sized wings fried HARD already. The whole wing is GONE in 3 bites!! (11) pcs of plain FETUS SIZED chicken wings, (12) Western Fries, ONE hot sauce & ONE Mambo sauce costed OVER $30. NO DRINK EITHER! 🤔🤔🤔🤯🤯🤯 ISTG these were THEE SMALLEST wings I have EVER brought from ANY establishment in my ENTIRE life. #Ridiculous. BUT...AGAIN, the flavor was BEYOND delicious. I give Parks a solid 4/5. I give Royals a 3/5 for the disrespectful siE of their wings.

Royal carry out is an Edmondson Village staple. I was excited to get a staple from my childhood. I recently ordered a chicken cheesesteak combo with a half and half. The cheesesteak was good. I could tell the toppings were fresh, it was hot, and the bread was good. The fries were very hot and the half and half was on point. In my opinion a little high in terms of price but was worth it considering the lack of options from surrounding carryouts.

I have been coming here since I was a kid. Truly a staple in the community. The food has always been consistent. The chicken box is a classic. Their cheesesteak is good also. The half n half is way too sweet though. But I love this carry out. Nostalgic for sure. And they will not make your food until you show up (assuming they have experienced many people not picking up orders).

I haven't had a chicken box this good since 1988!!! Laaaaaaawd Have Mercy!!!! Wings were seasoned and fried to perfection and fries were crispy and just right!!!! Half and Half also top notch!!!!

Came here for a good old Baltimore classic, the chicken box. Royal is located in the Edmondson Village shopping center. Now this place has seen better days, but this carryout has been here for a minute and we decided to go to see if the chicken boxes withstood the test of time. We placed our order over the phone: two 5 piece chicken wing combos with Western fries and a drink. We chose for our drinks the half and half ( iced tea and lemonade) and the triple mix ( iced tea, lemonade, and fruit punch). They also have a variety of snacks, sandwiches and fried seafood items, along with fresh salads and dessert items. We got there and we had to wait about 10 minutes before our order was ready. The lady at counter was pleasant and I swear, that could have been the same lady that's been here for a couple of decades. The ambiance was guarded, as this area is one you need to exercise caution when visiting, with a suggestion to visit as early as you can. We got our order and when we got home, it was still hot. The chicken wings were a nice size and fresh, crispy, well seasoned, and not greasy. The Western fries were nice wedges, hot and fresh, but did lack the seasoning that they had in previous years. The half and half and triple mix were good, but very sweet, even with the amount of ice in the drinks. All in all, a decent place to get chicken in the area.

New owners are not always a good thing. Decided to give the new owners a try when i noticed different people working. I had a cheeseburger sub as well and that was mediocre. The quality of the food is just not the same anymore.

Love this place! Best bacon egg and cheese, cheese steak, chopped fish, etc. best chicken box in Baltimore.

Their Sukiyaki Sub is almost worth the craziness in the daytime. The service isn't too bad either, if you are rude to them, they WILL BE rude to you. Always one of my stops when I go back home. Very tasty menu, great portions and to me, friendly Korean people.

Great service. They are polite and kind. The food is always good. Most people think they have the best chicken box on the westside. I eat here everytime I'm in town for that good ole chicken box salt pepper ketchup. They never fail. The wings did seem a bit smaller but I don't like big wings always! They charge 7% for credit card payments and the signs on the wall say they charge for a to go bag.

Convenient quick and courteous! Not in the safest neck of the woods, but not the worse either. The location for this food establishment is one of those where you walk in, mind your business, get your food and leave out respectively. My son stated he wanted a real chicken box and that's what I gave him. I'm glad we chose this place, and I'd do it again! And of course, I found it on good old Yelp! Haha The owners here were very very nice to us, they take credit cards if you spend $6 or more and the food was delicious! We ordered four wings and fries and a beverage. Spent under $10! That's what I'm talking about! If in the area, stop pass! This establishment is in a shopping center with ample parking!

One of the best carryout spots for chicken boxes on the West side of town. Never disappoints. The half and half is also bomb!

Sadly my favorite chicken box place is no longer. Honestly it was the best place but also the worst for me but I enjoyed it none the less. If anyone knows anyplace close to the taste of this place send to me cause I need a new place in my life. America's BestWings is a sad replacement for this national monument. RIP

More expensive now and they have baby wings now. They used the new soo good and affordable.

One of my favorite carry-outs in the West Baltimore area. I used to eat Chicken and their chicken boxes are pretty solid as long as they're fresh. Lately I only go for crabsticks and fries. They're imitation crabsticks battered to perfection and fried. 3 crabsticks, fries, and a medium half-and-half is $7.00. I'll always go back. The only reason I have 4 stars today is because I called ahead and still had to wait.

Best chicken cheese steaks and half and half combo I'm Catonsville. Good on the pockets too, very quick , staff is friendly.

My Husband use to Love food from Royal's. One day he order a 6 wing and Fries Chicken box. When I got home and he open the chicken box the wings was literally the size of pigeon wings. When my husband called back to tell them that he was not satisfied with the size of the Wings they disrespectfully said "bring them back". When I took the wings back to the store they actually snatch the Box. Their attitudes was so nasty and disrespectful they refused to give us our money back so we had to get more wings which they cook so hard we could not eat them. That was the last time I visited that store. I will Never go there again.

I looked for the best chicken box and this came up so we went from NYC. The chicken is crispy and flavorful and get fries with " salt pepper ketchup". It was good but I dont see the big deal. For my NYC peoples ... this is literally fried chicken with fries.. Nothing special.

One of the best places to get an authentic chicken box close to the Gwynn Oak area....Chick N Trout and New York Fried Chicken type places just don't do it for a city native like me. I need my chicken box spots to have missing floor tiles, 80" thick glass, and corner store candy in the dessert case. This place more than delivers.

Ordered a chicken box. 8 wings and fries..only received 7 and wings were small but packed lots of flavor. Fries were good along with my drink which was half and half. Would go back but make sure I check my food first!

When me and my friend went to royals after school the lady would not let us order unless we was 18+ even though we told her we wasn't in school. So when one of my friends ordered ( she had to order for all of us ) the lady would not let us pay with our cards and sign our own receipts. The process to order took a very long time. When the food was done only the person who was 18 could touch the bags the lady would not let us get our food. When I received my food my cheese on my cheese steak wasn't melted at all as long with my other 2 friends. One of my friends crabsticks was even cold. I will not be going to this royals ever again I will continue to go to the one in Woodlawn.

West Baltimore best chicken box hands down. I always order in advance because this carryout can get crowded fast. Oh, and dont forget to order a Half & Half...thank me later

I visit this carry out spot frequently for the shrimp cheesesteak and a chicken box. I am never disappointed, I recommend this spot.

Monday through Thursday open from 10 am to 10:45 pm. Friday through Saturday 10 am to 11:45 pm. Sometimes the wait time is long, but be patient the food is worth the wait. I love their chicken wings covered is mambo sauce (sweet and spicy) and their special sauce (sweeter than thousand island dressing minus the relish), cheesesteak (using slice ribeye beef) or shrimp sukiyaki (mixed veggies, cabbage and sweet soy sauce) with all the fix-ins (lettuce, tomato, mayo, fried onions, & hots) crabsticks and half & half (freshly brewed tea and lemonade). My new favorites are Chicken Cheesesteak with bacon, provolone, mayo, mustard, fried onions, lettuce and little hots, or chopped cheesefish (boneless whiting) or fried jumbo shrimp with western fries smothered in nacho cheese.

One of the best if not the best carryout on the westside. Call ahead or you may be waiting a while depending on what you order but other than no complaints.

The chicken is good but over time they have made their wings smaller. Always call ahead before going as parking is an issue and you may want to bring someone because of that. I have had their cheese steaks but I tend to stay away from them since I had gotten sick one time.

Great chicken, fries and half and half. Only bad thing is they cook chicken harder than I like it sometimes. Also they arent great at having your order ready if you pre ordered. Other that that the food is good.
