Bonaventure, Historic Savannah, Low Country & Private with Shannon Scott Tours

I've taken the Angels and Symbols tour with Pascal and now the Bonaventure is Forever tour with Hannah. Both tours were extremely informative and both guides were engaging orator/lecturers. Though there was some overlap in content between the tours it was great to hear the information from slightly different perspectives. Regardless of which tour you take, Shannon Scott tours provide a great historical framework to help visitors understand Savannah and it's people, and for those unfamiliar with cemetery spaces, the visual vocabulary to interpret the symbols and art within.

Despite the unforgiving rain, Scott gave us am excellent tour. He was knowledgeable and down to earth, no theatrics, just facts and history. The way he explained everything was so memorable and educational. I would recommend this tour 100%

I was so looking forward to visiting Bonaventure! I took a cart tour. Our guide was wonderful. Spent a little bit of time on my own afterwards. Will certainly visit again on a future trip to explore some more!

On Shannon Scott Tours' Bonaventure Is Forever walking tour, we had an amazing time. Hannah, our guide, was excellent. She brought Bonaventure Cemetery to life by fusing her in-depth historical knowledge with captivating storytelling. We gained a greater understanding of Savannah's history and the individuals who influenced it thanks to Hannah's insightful observations about the cemetery's most significant "residents." In order to achieve the ideal mix between mystery and history, she also incorporated some of the more vibrant tales and legends connected to Bonaventure. The two hours flew rapidly, and we came away feeling truly moved, amused, and enriched. This tour is essential if you are thinking about visiting Savannah.

Bonaventure Cemetery isn't just a resting place; it's a hauntingly beautiful and serene escape. Wandering through its moss-draped oaks and past the intricate monuments feels like stepping into another world. It's a place of quiet contemplation and stunning artistry, where history whispers on the breeze. Definitely worth a visit for a unique and reflective experience.

Great tour of the Bonaventure Cemetery by Shannon Scott. His passion and love is delivered through his story-telling. Would highly recommend him to anyone who wants a personal, in-depth understanding of this beautiful Cemeterys history.

Loved this tour! Shannon was entertaining and very knowledgeable about the cemetery, iconography, Savannah history and numerology … Which I found absolutely fascinating! He shared a couple of fun ghost stories as well! I highly recommend the after hours tour and I’d do it again because I have a feeling that there are more and different stories! Wish I could remember the name of the article he penned though!

Shannon was our guide at the Laurel Grove North Cemetery. Our group had this interesting cemetery all to ourselves! We roamed all over with our guide Shannon as he shared his vast knowledge of the history of the people buried there. His numerous stories were interesting and informative. We learned so much from him. I would highly recommend his tour of Laurel Grove North. And we look forward to taking additional tours offered by Shannon next time we visit Savannah!

I can not say enough. The map for a $8 donation is worth it. It will guide you and direct you around. The view and history is breathtaking. We spent 3 hours here and I could have done allot more. We will be back in summer.

I did not know who Johnny Mercer was until I went on this cemetery tour. You can't visit Savannah without doing a cemetery tour, and Bonaventure produces the best one. When we researched sites and attractions to visit for our first trip to Savannah, we were told the 6th Sense Tours of Bonaventure Cemetery was the one to do. There's undoubtedly a hauntingly beautiful vibe about the cemetery, which is the final resting place for many people, such as famous songwriter Johnny Mercer and Little Gracie. Make sure you arrive 15 minutes before the start of the tour to find parking, check in, and meet up with your group. Otherwise, they will leave without you, so take note. Starting from the visitor information center, we walked down the road through the gates of Bonaventure Cemetery to where our storyteller provided us with history regarding the sites to where we stopped to take pictures and take in the surroundings that comprise more than 100 acres. They discuss events and people that you couldn't digest the same way on your own. The scenery is certainly beautiful between the overhanging trees, all different styles of gravesites that stretch back to the 19th century, and what feels like the never-ending resting places of many families. Some of the gravesites have the designated sign for CSA (Confederate States of America), which means those have this sign fought for the Confederacy during the American Civil War. If you love history, then you will love taking a tour here. As you walk past the various gravesites, there's a lot of history, seeing gravestones of those who passed dating back to at least the mid-1800s. Our tour guide navigated us through the cemetery, which gave us a different vibe from most cemeteries you may have visited.

I enjoyed a wonderful Bonaventure Cemetery Journey today with Shannon Scott as the guide! He did an amazing job relating facts and figures about all the souls resting here. The history, folklore, and tales made the walkabout so easy and before I knew it, 2+ hours had passed. I am already adding books he mentioned to my reading list, historical figures to my learning list, and cemetery sculptures to my "to do for my grave" list!!! Today was well worth the cost of admission and I wish I could do it again to "cement" those things in my mind! I especially loved learning about little Gracie Watson! Great Job Shannon!

Excellent adventure! Pascal was our guide and he was outstanding! We were in Savannah for 4 days and saw many of the sites. We all agreed that this tour was the highlight. Pascal walked us through the history, art, and family stories of several of the "residents". If I were back in Savannah, I would definitely do this tour again and would recommend to family and friends. You can take this tour at night, which I'm sure is great, but we liked going during the day to have the daylight view of the beautiful grounds.

Our guide on the Cemetery tour was very knowledgeable. I will never look at historic grave sites the same again. The artistry of some of these stones was amazing. We were in an electric cart. Loved it!!

Paschal was such a knowledgeable interesting, and experienced tour guide who conveyed his love for all thing cemetery and Savannah. This was very engaging and thought-provoking, much more than just a cemetery tour.

What an amazing tour! It was quite literally a dark and stormy night when we went on this tour of Bonaventure Cemetery on Saturday evening, 11/6/21. The tour is rain or shine and everyone braved the storm to hear 3 hours of the amazing tour guide, Shannon Scott, tell us some incredible, and often eerie, stories about the history of Savannah and Bonaventure Cemetery. It was both a fascinating history lesson and spooky adventure. We cannot recommend this tour highly enough!

Shannon Scott is a phenomenal story teller. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The tour went just over 2 hours, but it seemed to be less time as we were so captivated by the what was being shared. Totally new outlook on cemeteries. The history and mystery draw you in. This tour was highly recommended to us by an individual we met in passing. It exceeded expectations. Looking forward to an after hours tour when we return to Savannah!

We went on the daytime tour, which started on time and went a little bit over (no one was complaining). Lisa Marie was amiable and very knowledgeable about the history behind some of the cemetery's graves. These stories were intriguing and kept me engaged. However, she didn't convey as much about the Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil as the Web site would have you believe. All in all, an excellent experience. Highly recommend.

Shannon Scott is a storyteller that weaves the history and mystery of Savannah into a memorable evening. I did not know what to expect from this tour, but I am so grateful that I had the opportunity to take advantage of Mr. Scott's research and passion to have one of my most memorable experiences in Savannah. My boyfriend was adamant he did not want to visit the cemetery and he has made several remarks that this tour was the highlight of his trip to Savannah. The tour was fascinating! The way Mr. Scott intertwined history, personal experience, and folklore made me anxiously await his next story as we walked in the cemetery. Bonaventure Cemetery is consistently ranked as one of the world's most beautiful cemeteries and I highly recommend visiting it. The tour with Mr. Scott allowed you to visit the cemetery in a personal setting away from tourists and gain a better understanding of the historical and cultural significance of the place to Savannah. Thank you Mr. Scott for a memorable experience and a wonderful tour! I will make sure to take the tour again next time I am in Savannah and I have recommended it to all my friends and family. FYI -- I could not figure out why Mr. Scott looked familiar. After returning home I encountered an old episode of "Scariest Places on Earth" and he was featured as a Savannah paranormal expert. I thought it was neat that I used to watch that show and then had the opportunity to take his tour.

We can honestly say that after a two week vacation, seeing things/tours in 5 states, this was the best tour we had the pleasure of taking! It is more than obvious that Shannon Scott loves what he does. His extensive knowledge of the history of the area and the residents of the graveyard prove for an interesting and educating tour. We were all entranced as the history unfolded with his humorous delivery. It ended for too soon. After the tour my hubby & I walked around a bit more and overheard two other tour guides delivering what sounded like a stale account of history, (had enough of that is school, thanks!). I would not go to this cemetery without having Shannon bring it to life!

We went on a whim 3 years ago because of the good reviews and they were spot on! Shannon was so detailed and knowledgeable we had to go back today(and bring the whole family) I would recommend this tour to anyone. Very interesting and honestly my favorite thing to do in Savannah!

The guided tour through the Bonadventure Cemetery with Shannon Scott was a true delight. I was greatly impressed with the knowledge he shared, as well as the reverence he Displayed. He has a true gift for sharing his treasure trove of knowledge with others which he does with passion and humor. It is nice to meet someone who understands the importance of keeping these stories alive and generously shares their knowledge with others

This was the best tour in Savannah! 2.5 hour walking tour with a great and knowledgeable guide. Stories that ranged from murder to poignant. Highly recommended
