New in 2025 from the Vertical team: a casual vegan deli with sandwiches, bowls, breakfast, and a market. Reported by The Salt Lake Tribune and highlighted by Utah Stories, it extends a homegrown SLC legacy just south of downtown.

This was my second visit in two weeks. I had the Reuben on my first visit. It was perfect. Just delicious. This time I had the Cubano. It was very good, but I would have preferred a softer and slightly sweeter bread. The sub roll was a bit dry and flavorless. If they changed to a Cuban bread done on a panini press the sandwich could be elevated to five stars. I love this place and I hope they do well. I will certainly be back!

I am not vegan but wanted to try this place because it’s near my house. It was absolutely AMAZING! The gals working were so sweet and gave great suggestions. The pricing was so reasonable and large filling portions.

We came here after watching a movie next door. I had read in the paper the other day that Vertical Deli had just opened. We used to go to Vertical Diner all the time, but haven’t been in ages. I had a Garden salad with ranch dressing and a small order of Sweet Potato fries and my husband had the Pastrami sandwich and a small order of tots. Everything was delicious!! Think these were the best sweet potato fries I’ve ever had!!! Definitely want to come back and try some more menu items!! I was kinda blown away by how good everything was!!

Was excited to try after I’ve heard so many good things. My boyfriend got The Bandit sandwich which was very good! But unfortunately I got the pastrami sandwich which left a lot to be desired. It was one thin slice of crunchy dry pastrami with a touch of sauerkraut and the driest dang bread. I don’t think there was even sauce. Nearly inedible. I love a pastrami sandwich so this was a big bummer. Luckily my boyf split his Bandit with me. I know they’re new so I’m just hoping they figure things out as I’m so excited about a vegan place in this part of town. Service was good and everyone was kind.

So excited to have a new vegan spot open close to me. The service was fast and friendly, especially considering that they've only been open for two days. I look forward to coming back and ordering more from the menu. I appreciate that you can get items a la carte, so you can easily order according to your appetite. If they're taking suggestions, I'll ask that The Bandit needs more moist ingredients, and the bun for the Pineapple Burger bun is a little thiccc. I'd also like a recycling bin since some of the packaging is disposable, and for canned or bottled drinks.

We've been regular customers at the parent restaurant, Vertical Diner, so we were excited to find that they'd opened another location, this one with more of a deli/burger joint vibe. According to one of the employees, Vertical Deli is the only all-vegan drive-through restaurant in Utah! Vertical Deli has a lot of delicious-looking options on the menu, everything from deli sandwiches to bowls and wraps, from burgers to breakfast items. Loads of great sides, but the one I really have to recommend is the mac & cheese bites. Conveniently located next to the giant Cinemark Theater on the corner of State and 3300, the restaurant is spacious, bright, and clean. Portions are large and prices reasonable. And *everything* is plant based!

So happy to see that Vertical Diner opened a new restaurant - Vertical Deli. It has some of the top items from the Vertical Diner menu, with new options to try.
