Dark Horse Espresso Bar

Tried only the matcha slushee but enjoyed it! Matcha flavour was there, and its texture as a slushee was decent. (Note: because it is matcha, it might not be as “refreshing” as you’d expect a slushee to be). Overall, I’d get the drink again and would love to try other menu items. Ambiance was great, felt spacious and calm. There’s seating in the back that’s elevated and lets you look out to the front. Good place to stop by and sit for a drink.

Had a long Monday morning and wasn’t able to have breakfast, walking on the street I found Dark Horse just looking for a coffee and quick bite and was greeted by Dua and her energy is amazing. Such a friendly vibe and recommended one of her favourite coffees and pastries. Made my day better, coming back for sure!

I really don't want to give two stars cause I love their Latte. It's the nearest coffee place to my workplace after all. However, each time I'm shocked by the manners of the staff. Today there was a lady behind the cashier who just ignored me while I was waiting to be called as the next customer! She even had a look at me but for some reason showed nothing. Even after I was noticed by another staff who was preparing the orders, she didn't even say Hi! The first thing she said was "Do you have our points card" or whatever they are trained to say, even when they don't greet! The funny part is that the next customer (of a different skin color) was greeted with a wide smile. If she just works there, please refer this to the manager. If she is the manager, then I'm very sorry for Dark Horse. I like this place, and I will get back, but I don't want my experience to be ruined by such poor customer service.

Other than good coffee, this location allows you to sit and work. They offer free wifi, but there are no electric outlets, so bring your own power bank if you expect to stay for a long time. The staff is friendly and the ambiance is great. They also have a washroom for patrons.

DO NOT COME HERE! To start, I used to go to this specific branch of dark horse a lot - it was great. Recent events have led me to now never go there again, and warn others not to go as well. We were waiting in line to order, when the member of staff responsible for making the drinks came to feed a dog that was also in the queue. There is no issue with this at all, however the staff member fed the dog a few treats, and when it spat it out she picked it back up and fed it to the dog again. This is not even the issue, she then went back (after feeding the dog treats, picking up the treats from the floor covered in dog saliva and feeding it to the dog again) and started to make more drinks without washing her hands. I asked her if she had washed her hands as we were next to order, and she looked at me annoyed and showed me a yellow cloth saying ‘i wiped it with this’. This yellow cloth is used to wipe down surfaces, the machines etc. She had already touched the machines and made another couples drink when I had said this. We left the queue upset and frankly disgusted. As we were leaving, she proceeded to talk very loudly about how I was inappropriate for asking her if she washed her hands (she had not, nor had she used hand sanitiser). To clarify, I had asked her very nicely if she had washed her hands and she was only so rude. I would not go back ever - unless you want dog saliva drinks!

I’m from montreal and came to this coffee shop - the iced latte is good and the croissant apple crumble is INSANE

I tried their Matcha Slushee upon seeing their signage out front. It tasted great and a perfect drink, at first... After a few sips, it was just ice and I could hardly drink anything. What made it worse was the paper straws, which kept bending on itself so I had to get additional straws just get through the drink. I also saw the barista pour a coffee syrup/flavouring of some kind directly into the coffee slushy, so while the matcha slush tasted good, I have no idea what's in it. That said, the atmosphere and the cafe was cozy. It was the perfect place for me to enjoy reading my book, with a nice ambience.

I frequent this Dark Horse location, and it's great. They have great seating, on the main level and just up the stairs. Tons of space to come get some work done or hang out with friends. As for their drinks, I really enjoy their iced beverages. I normally get an iced vanilla latte with oat milk, iced mocha with lactose-free milk, or their iced elderberry hibiscus tea.
