My boyfriend took me here as a surprise date after seeing it on tiktok and it did not disappoint! Our server Rocco was awesome! He checked in often and had a great attitude throughout our entire dining experience. The atmosphere was relaxing and enjoyable. We came for dinner and will definitely be back for brunch! #gorocco!

My wife and daughter had lunch at Hayden. My daughter had seen great reviews on it and wanted to try it out. Turns out my wife really loved it, and wanted me to experience it . At a later Date went with my Wife and Son For a Late Dinner. Must say, Atmosphere is very nice and Cozy, very family friendly. Food was really good with ample servings. Waitress was very Helpful with Menu with a very attentive service . Enjoyed our Dinner . Definitely Recommend Hayden . Adding them to our list of Restaurants .

The food was amazing, serving size was great, I had to take it to go. The food was out pretty fast. Server Luis was an angel, great adapting to client needs. This is a great place to come with friends during brunch and just have a nice talk, music is not loud unless there’s an event, family friendly, the drink are also pretty good, fair price.

Food is always great always hot and fresh. We normally get the smoked fish sandwich and the Rueben we decided to try something else today and it didn’t disappoint. Phil is an excellent waiter very attentive. Don’t forget to try the celery soda! It goes great with everything.

Great atmosphere, great menu, even better service, thank you Phil! Inside is an oasis of plants and great design, you feel relaxed while you enjoy your food. The menu has a great variety of items and the barbacoa was fantastic. Great selection of drinks including Apple Soda, that was delicious. Phil and the entire staff made us feel welcomed and took great care of us, will definitely be back!

The is definitely my go to spot for a great breakfast to start a great day! The staff is always extremely friendly and helpful. The food? AMAZING! My eggs are always cooked to order and the menu provides a exciting variety. My recommendations are the Avocado Toast or the Old Timer.

This place is AWESOME! Asked Gabriel for a food suggestion and he did not disappoint. The Meatloaf Dinner is my favorite item on the menu! The Pastrami and Swiss sandwich is equally delicious. Highly recommend Gabriel. He did such a great job. Can't recommend this place enough.

This place is amazing!!! Great service and the food is delicious. Came here with a couple of my colleagues for lunch. I ordered their lunch special half pastrami sandwich with tomato bisque soup and homemade chips. Everything on my plate was hands down 5 stars. Now I understand why they are famous for their pastrami sandwiches, because every bite I took it seemed as if it was just melting in my mouth. Definitely coming back again.

The matzo ball soup is a must and so are their cocktails. Great service too. Would make a good spot to work remotely.

I can't believe that I haven't tried this place sooner. What a great spot to pop in a for a chill, yet absolutely delicious dinner. The service was outstanding. Our server Luis was great. Very personable, attentive. He treated us very well. The food at The Hayden is great. I am at a loss for words for how great a dish is the Barbacoa Stroganoff. It is truly next level!! It was so good I didn't even want to eat it all so I could have some for tomorrow. I also ordered the Poblano Bacon Cheeseburger. So full of flavor. The pimento cheese just adds so much to the burger. The matzoh ball soup is some of the best I've ever had. So much depth of flavor with the broth. The pastrami was obviously done with care. I am genuinely looking forward to going back again to try other items on the menu.

Came here for brunch, it was a bit busy but overall it wasn't too bad of a wait considering it was Sunday around noon. Nothing more than expected, maybe 10 minutes? Our server, Ally, was great. She constantly checked in when we needed a refill, but wasn't hovering or being too much. She was also quick to fix our coffee when it came out hot instead of iced. Unrelated to her, my only complaint would be that with all the people eating, it felt a little warm. Maybe turn up the AC/ fans if possible? But the food was delicious! Big portions, could easily be shared. I love the sliced potato's that came with my breakfast. I would come again.

Another place that has been on my list, but I have failed to visit when I am in San Antonio. Now that I have, believe me, I will be back. Super cute interior, and the owner or manager came by and chatted with us for a few minutes while we sat at the bar. Parking is a little tight, but it is free. The smoked whitefish sandwich is like the best tuna melt you'll ever come across with a real depth of flavor. Next time: the pastrami! (I want that T-shirt, but I felt silly getting it without getting the pastrami itself.)

we absolutely loved the experience at the Hayden, I would like to shout out our waiter, Michael. He's one of the best! His hospitality made us feel so welcome, he made our first experience great! Shout out to you Michael. You are amazing. The food is absolutely delicious, this is kind of an East Coast inspired deli type vibe. The cocktails & sodas are delicious as well. we will definitely be returning, and it was worth the 25 minute wait I'll tell you that.

This is my favorite brunch spot, period. I normally like to try something new on the weekends, but I just cannot keep myself away from the Hayden and their amazing pancakes. My favorite is the apple one, but all of the flavors are excellent. I've also had their breakfast sandwich and pimento cheese dip, which are on point as well, but I can't keep away from those pancakes. My wife loves all of their dishes with fried chicken. We've come for lunch and dinner too, and the burgers are solid. They have all of your standard diner favorites, like burgers, salads, and sandwiches, as well as some really unique things like latke waffles and a fish dip. We never wait long, the hosts are always polite, and the waitstaff are wonderful too. We love being served by Anna, but there are no bad options!

Food was delicious and our server, Crystal, was friendly. I had the meatloaf with the tomato gravy and I usually don't like tomatoes but it was really good.

The food is amazing, and the service is always great! I always get the Elaine's BIG salad with Grilled Chicken! This is the place I bring everyone to when the come and visit San Antonio!

Stopped in for a late lunch/snack to hold us over on a weekday. We ordered an appetizer/starter and each a mimosa. The starter was the Crispy Brussel Sprouts. Didn't care for the sweet red pepper jam. Made is soggy as it was just glopped on them. I'd suggest asking for that on the side. Our mimosas were good, nothing special about them. The one starter and two drinks came out to $40 which I thought was very excessive for the lackluster starter and two generic drinks. Not sure I'd go back even with my positive past experiences. Just not worthwhile for the prices. Not to discount our waiter he was very nice and attentive. The atmosphere was great, not loud & fast service.

Food was (chefs kiss) and Phil was super nice and attentive! I got the crispy chicken sandwich- the chicken was perfectly cooked, juicy and crispy with a bit of acidity from the pickles and pickled onions. Smothered barbacoa fries were delicious. My fiancé ordered the Pastrami and Swiss with the side of coconut curry soup. And last but not least chocolate chip cookie to go. 10/10 would recommend again and again

If I could give this place zero stars, I would. This was easily one of the worst dining experiences I've ever had. The service, our waiter, and the food were all a 0/10. Our server was unprofessional from the moment he approached our table--he actually sat down with us to take our order. One of my friends arrived a few minutes late, and instead of getting up to let her slide into the booth, he just sat there while the rest of us had to awkwardly scoot down to make room. Even basic service timing was off--we didn't receive waters or cocktails together as a party, and everything felt slow, uncoordinated, and uncomfortable. To make things worse, my meal came out extremely late. It was my birthday dinner, and by the time my food finally arrived, my friends were already halfway done eating. No apology, no urgency--just careless service. The menu was another disappointment. The prices online don't match the in-house menu, and nothing has been updated. They removed the chicken fried steak (one of the main reasons we came). On top of that, the chicken fried chicken, chicken sandwich, and adult chicken tender basket are all made with the exact same two chicken tenders--just plated differently. Between the six of us at the table, we basically all ended up eating the same two pieces of chicken presented three different ways. It made absolutely no sense and felt cheap. Then came the final straw: the bill. They added a $3 upcharge to my friend's Ranch Water because "it wasn't on the menu." It's tequila, soda water, and lime--nothing fancy. Charging $17 for a basic drink like that is ridiculous. It's not a craft cocktail; it takes maybe 15 seconds to make. What makes this even more disappointing is that I used to enjoy this restaurant. I even hosted my friend's engagement brunch here years ago and had a great experience. Clearly, things have gone downhill fast. Overall, this place is poorly managed, misleading with pricing, and severely lacking in customer service. I won't be back and I don't recommend it to anyone.

First be careful on where your map takes you because my map was taking me to a different location. Luckily I was paying attention when I was driving and I noticed the location and turned just in time. The location is gorgeous and there is plenty of parking. They do have indoor and outdoor seatings; dogs are welcomed in the outside area. The food was ok. My friend ordered one of the salad entrees, which would have been better served in a bowl versus a plate. I ordered the fish and chips, a bit greasy for me. I wish I would have ordered something else. Drinks were disappointing. I ordered 3 different kinds -none that really stood out. Cute names but I wouldn't return for the drinks. It was a nice place to try since I have never been there. I would try this place for breakfast sometime in the future.

I had the chicken salad sandwich and it was so good. We also had the Brussel sprouts, I was afraid of them being too sweet but nope it was perfect. My husband had the Nashville hot chicken sandwich and the sauce was delicious. Very relaxed environment. I'm going to start recommending this place to people :-)

We went here for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. Our server was amazing. Service was on the slower side but the food made up for that. We ordered pastrami and Swiss & my daughters had the strawberry pancakes with fruit and bacon. I also ordered an iced chai guy and bubbly watermelon limeade for my daughters Everything was so good. I love a good pastrami sandwich and this one was spot on.

It has been a while since I reviewed this diner...so here we go. I fell in love with the BLTA today (bacon, lettuce, tomato, and avocado). A tasty mix of crunch and salt from the bacon, sweet from the lettuce and tomato, butter from the toast, and nutty, creamy addition of the avocado. It was a great bite! Added a drink, salad and pimento cheese app. The service was attentive but into intrusive. It was a great early dinner stop.

Really good food and service! The chicken noodle soup I got was delicious and so flavorful! My husband got the fish and chips, which was also just as good! Would come back again! It was a little loud but overall a cozy place to stop into!

This was my first visit to The Hayden, and it was such a cute spot! I loved the decor, the peaceful atmosphere, and the selection of board games it felt like a great place to relax and chat. The servers were friendly and attentive. I tried the fried chicken and latke waffle, and it was delicious! The latke waffle tasted like hash browns on the inside, with a hint of sweetness and the perfect crispy crust. It came with apples, sour cream, and syrup, which complemented the dish perfectly. The fried chicken itself was a bit dry and lacked flavor, but the toppings helped enhance it. I also tried The Hayden burger, it was simple but still a solid, enjoyable bite. Overall, I had a great meal and would definitely come back. Thanks for the experience!

Ok let me start with what I really care about... The Apple Butter Pancakes! They truly are a bite of heaven! They are "THICC" but still fluffy and light with hints of buttery apples and cinnamon throughout the batter! They are amazing even without the topping which is definitely not from a can or prefrozen, you can tell right away they thinly slice the apple and make the semi sweet reduction in house! Yes I said semi sweet because you think they would be too much covered in a pie style filling but no way, they let the flavors of the apples speak for themselves without a ton of sugar. It can satisfy a sweet tooth and still get a thumbs upfrom your dentist! I drive from Austin to San Antonio just for this! DELICIOUS The staff is friendly and the restaurant feels upscale with out an ounce of pretence. I really enjoyed the chicken fried steak, the best I've had in San Antonio, the gravy was unique, flavorful and creamy, not too thick or dry. I'm not sure quite what the flavor was hinting at but it was YUM! Love this place, I'm going for my birthday I dream of those THICC Cakes!!!!

Great ambience then we had the tuna melt and pastrami on rye were amazing plus a matzo ball soup to top it off. Our waitress Ally did an amazing job, very friendly and professional. Overall we had an awesome experience.

Wow, driving by I would have missed this place. To be honest, google maps sent us to the parking lot before it due to all the neighborhood construction so be careful or you might miss this shopping center. Cute decor and chill vibe once inside. Went to the zoo and decided to try this place for a late lunch. Kids menu isn't posted but the waitress was great with getting our two boys set up with delicious sourdough grilled cheese. The crispy chicken sandwich was juicy and cooked perfectly. The bun fell apart but it was still inhaled! Fries are an extra $2.99 so if you don't really want them, know they come as an up charge. Hubby got the Reuben and said it was one of the best he's ever had. He now wanted to bring my long islander dad her next time he visits. He also tried the cucumber soda which I tried, not loving soda, and it was super tasty and not sweet. Service was a bit slow. Not sure if it was because we were in between lunch/ dinner hour. Would love to come back for happy hour and try some different fair and cocktails.

Delicious food, nice atmosphere, friendly service. I ordered the matcha lavender sunshine, and it came with mint leaves and orange garnish. I've never considered pairing all of these flavors, but it tasted and smelled so good and elevated a matcha latte to feel like a fancy cocktail. The fried chicken and latke waffle was great, crispy, covered in apples and a cinnamon sauce. The serving size was huge as well. I'm so glad I chose the Hayden to treat myself on my day off work.

From the sound track, to the color scheme, the environment is one of the most relaxing places to dine. Immediately you feel a sense of warmth, only to be enhanced by our server Addy. Going for lunch was a treat, but when I saw breakfast was served till 5pm, I knew I had no other choice than to come back the next day for breakfast! As a breakfast connoisseur, I feel an overwhelming desire to spread the word about how delicious the barbacoa omelette and potatoes were. If you're reading this and don't know me, just know I refuse breakfast at anytime unless something sweet is paired. I can eat large amounts of food, but I was gladly defeated by the stack of pancakes which will be eaten later this evening. Thank you The Hayden for existing and know I will be coming back many more times.

Great food, VERY large servings, but very expensive. There's also an extra 2% fee for "Kitchen Love" added to every check. We've been here a couple of times. It's really good food. The serving sizes are VERY generous, but they can lower the prices by decreasing the serving sizes. Most of the people in here are taking half of their food to go. The prices are just ridiculous. The service is fantastic and friendly - no complaints there. However, it gets very noisy, especially on the weekends. It's not as bad for lunch on a weekday, but still kinda noisy. These prices are from the fall of 2023 and the spring of 2024: * Spicy Chicken Salad - OMG, the chicken is like crack. So moist and spicy. ($16.99) * Omelet - The eggs are kinda dry and lacking cheese. When the waitress asked how things were, we told her. The manager comped half off the price. ($14.99) * Single Pancake - Comes with compote and almond slices. ($8.99) * Shiner Bock Draft - $7 before 3 pm on a Monday. * Iced Tea - $3.49 on a Monday before 3 pm. * Side of Toast - $2.99. I was surprised with an extra charge on my bill. It was labeled "kitchen love." It was 2% of the total check. This might sound like a small cost, but it's not cool when you are surprised with this added cost. When I asked what the "kitchen love" fee was, the waitress told me it was for the staff in the back kitchen. She offered to remove it, and I said yes. (Kitchen love is 2%) The bottom line is that they have great food, and great service, but the prices are just insane.

First time here and definitely would come back My server, Gracie, was so sweet and accommodating! She also checked on me plenty of times and offered great suggestions for food and coffee. The owner, Adam, came by and offered amazing recommendations for places to see in San Antonio since I'm so new to the city. I love how friendly and inviting this space is. The aesthetic is also chefs kiss 12/10 and would recommend to anyone!

We have been eating at The Hayden since they opened and they have consistently provided great service and quality food. It's a great place for comfort food with a twist. My husband likes the barbacoa stroganoff and I'm a fan of the meatloaf. It's also a great go to breakfast spot.

I came in after a lengthy and anxious interview. and Crystal took good care of me with a delicious coffee and breakfast to energize me through the day. thank you Crystal for being a bright sunshine and kind person.

My first time eating here and I absolutely loved it! The food, the service, the vibe, everything. I had the Larry David bagel sandwich, potato latte waffle, and cucumber soda. Each item was a home run! The Latke was very crispy and the chunky apple sauce was so good. Just the right size for me. The cucumber soda was crisp and refreshing. Nice size cup. The star of the show was the Larry David bagel sandwich. I absolutely love bagels with capers and lox but the generous helping of whitefish salad and pickled onions was out of this world. If I were a cat, I would have been purring. Everything I had felt fresh and special, worh the price. Service was very fast and friendly and the whole look of the restaurant was welcoming and and cute. I would absolutely love to come here again and would highly recommend it to others wanting to treat themselves to some amazing food.

Service at the bar is always wonderful even if you are just ordering food to go. My favorites are Elaine's big salad and the pastrami on rye! Apple pie a La mode unbelievable. Coffee nice too. I forgot the white wine, any breakfast item, rye bread, soup too.

Finally got to try this place! Came in on a Sunday around 1 pm, without reservations, and we were seated in 5 mins for a party of 4! Coffee was good! I enjoyed the Big Salad, it was just the right amount of ranch dressing! I tried my brother's chicken and waffles - but we werent a fan of the latke waffles. Husband's pastrami, was tasty and flavorful, but the bread just got soggy real quick (not sure how this could've been avoided) But overall, we enjoyed the service and the ambiance! Will try other menu items!

We've been here a couple times and each time they knock it out of the park. Food is always full or flavor, ambience is high, and service was stellar with Phil. Will be back again!

The Hayden is situated off Broadway and has a parking lot shared with businesses. They are modern day diner with a elevated edge. We were warmly greeted and quickly seated. Gracie, our waitress, was super friendly and very attentive. I am from out of town and was fresh off the plane with 45 mins of sleep craving a peppermint mocha latte. She advised that they didn't have peppermint syrup but had spearmint. I was good with that suggestion and when I took the first sip, it was amazing! *in an ashamed internal voice* However, because I am lactose intolerant, I should have asked for oat milk off the bat as I paid the price later. Anyways, back to our dining experience! We ordered a mimosa kit to share for our table of 2. It was perfect. For my meal, I ordered the barbacoa omelet and a side of the cheddar chive biscuit. My friend ordered a chicken biscuit and a side of bacon. The 4 egg omelet was HUGE and most of the meat was centered while the edges was sealed with cheese. The tomatillo cilantro and onion salsa on top, was a good pairing for the barbacoa inside. The biscuit was HUGE. It was halved and served with containers of butter and about 3 tablespoons of jelly. Each bite had a savory flavor so every ingredient was perfectly balanced. I tried a taste of my friend's chicken biscuit which uses the same cheddar chive biscuit but with pimento cheese, jalapeno jam and pickled onions (she skipped the onions). I am VERY critical of most chicken for breakfast places and looks were deceiving with the chicken biscuit but when I bit into it, everything that comprised that sandwich was on point. I found their IG and saw that they brine their tenders in a pickle and buttermilk brine as well as season their flour. So that explains why it tasted so flavorful from the inside out! I tried a piece of my friend's bacon and it was taking me to flavor town as well. You can see and taste the black pepper it was seasoned with. Every single person that worked there was super nice and said hi to us. I appreciate that they have a service card as well to let them know how great their service and servers are. I hope locals to San Antonio and fellow travelers get to stop in and experience The Hayden. It was great!

Phil was an excellent server. Paid very close attention to what we needed. My glass was never empty. Food was good. Bisque a little salty, but I ate it none the less. The ladies with me had alcoholic beverages and they said they were wonderful.

Lots of food for your money, great staff, food was very good, great ambiance and playlist too, I'm not really a fan of pimento cheese, however, their pimento cheese with house made chips was outstanding, I highly recommend trying that app, I had the smoked turkey omelet, which was very good and they don't skimp on the ingredients...the potatoes had a little too much paprika, but they were still good, I brought my leftover potatoes home with us...bravo!!
