What an amazing experience it always is at Kiggins. Nostalgic. Around Christmas time it always gets me in the spirit to go and watch a classic Christmas movie. This year we went and seen White Christmas.

A Night at the Movies That Just Hits Different — Five Stars Going to Kiggins Theatre in Vancouver isn’t just “going to the movies.” It’s like stepping into a time capsule that also figured out how to keep seats comfortable and candy top-tier. The moment you walk in, you feel it — this place is iconic. The old-school admission booth, the glow of the lights, the big Kiggins sign watching over everything like it always has. You don’t rush in here. You *arrive*. This theater has been around since the 1930s, and somehow it still feels alive, not dusty. It was built during the golden age of movies, and you can tell. The Art Deco style, the classic layout, the vibe that says, “Movies mattered here long before streaming was a thing.” It’s one of those places where you feel connected to everyone who’s ever sat in those seats before you, popcorn in hand, ready to escape for a while. Speaking of seats — they’re nice. Like, actually nice. Comfortable, supportive, and not trying to fold you into a human pretzel halfway through the movie. The movie itself was great, the sound was solid, and the screen did exactly what it was supposed to do: let me forget about the world for a bit. The candy selection? Excellent. This is not a “three sad options behind the counter” situation. This is a proper movie candy lineup that understands the assignment. Bathrooms were clean, which honestly deserves its own slow clap in public places. One of the coolest things is that Kiggins plays older movies too, which just feels right here. This theater knows what it is and leans into it. It’s not trying to be a giant chain. It’s a real movie house with personality and history, and you feel that the entire time you’re there. By the time I walked out, I wasn’t just thinking, “That was a good movie.” I was thinking, “Man, I love coming here.” This place is my movie love. Always has been, always will be. Five out of five. Fun, classic, comfortable, and full of heart.

Great seats, nice venue. Bathrooms are a little small but expected from the era when it was built. Overall still really like it!

Fan favorite brought back to life! Updated seating with more leg room. Seats are comfortable with arms that can be raised and lowered depending upon your preference and needs. They have good options for refreshments from beer, cider and wine to soda, seltzer and juice. Food options include the obligatory popcorn, which smells amazing, and the standard candy in gigantic sizing! The movie offerings are current, eclectic and run from kids, teens, adults with specialty opportunities for adventurers. While the name brings back childhood memories and joy, as an adult I enjoy the family atmosphere and positive experience staff bring to every movie goer!

Amazing historical venue that has more than old school charm. It's a very Hip and relevant venue which leads the pack in the SW Washington / Greater Portland area as a darling Independent theater. Make a plan to attend a retro classic film or informative lecture or just zany future cult classic. This place has it ALL! Beer, Wine and tasty fresh cinema snacks....but the pizza across the street at Bessolo's is also the same owner's and you can bring your Togo pizza pie inside for the show!

This is a gorgeous, historical theatre. I’ve been here a handful of times for various films, and it’s always been a great experience. I love that they offer a wide selection of concessions including the basics (popcorn, candy, and sodas), pizza slices, and alcoholic beverages. I love that I’m able to support a local business that’s a staple of the Vancouver community!

Old school city theater, beautifully restored & great movie selection of first run, vintage and art films. A bit of a trek for us, but enjoy every time we visit.

Charming through and through. I now am looking forward to seeing another film here. They host the Star Wars Holiday Special annually which really needs to be experienced with an audience so you can suffer together. It proves drugs were prevalent in the 70s. It was a sold out show yet we still got good seats. Concessions were super efficient and thanks for having ice and a reusable cup! For those of us who don't drink beer - it's appreciated.... seriously, I just want a coke with a ton of ice to go with my popcorn. Their popcorn is pretty awesome!

Popcorn was 20% seeds, $1 charge for butter. The night I visited, they ran out of pizza If I had know in advance I would have bought dinner before I came. It's a lovely place and it looks like a lot of love and effort was in the remodel. Eat and drink before you come, enjoy the experience.

We were in the area visiting another business but while walking by the Kiggins Theatre we saw a classic movie we wanted to see was playing in about an hour so we stuck around since we had already found parking a block away. I don't know what it is about older theatres but I just love them. I prefer these smaller theatres over big box ones because as someone with an interest in urban planning I just think they fit so much better into our communities, help create community and aren't eyesores. The tickets were very fairly priced, the concession stand had great options to choose from and the seats were comfortable. We drove in from SW PDX to watch last night's 6 PM showing of The Brutalist at the Kiggins--a 10 mile, 20" drive, no traffic. It was a great show at a great venue with a great staff serving great popcorn and great pepperoni pizza. We loved the close captioning as well. My husband was a year away from being born when the big-screen, Art Deco Kiggins opened in 1936. That the theatre was toasty warm on a cold February evening all added up to an all-around delicious evening out.

I absolutely love coming to Kiggins, comfy seats, nice selection of fins and I love that they have classic movie nights and have expanded to offer pizza across the street! Great for the whole family or a day out solo which I have done many times staff has always been friendly and I hope that they expand to show more events.

Thoroughly enjoyed 2021 CooperCon. Very pleasant and accommodating staff at this Downtown old school theater. The seats were clean as were the restrooms. I wish they offered coffee and some better food choices, even at premium prices. Parking was easy.

What a fantastic theater in downtown Vancouver, WA with a lot of history, too! You get to enjoy the feeling of being transported back in time to another era with the interesting architectural and design details of this theater that buildings these days usually lack. AND you get to enjoy all this while watching some excellent films on a quality digital projection system & great sound system to boot! I highly recommend signing up for their emails or following them on facebook to get the latest updates on the variety of films they are showing. They often have acclaimed independent films and documentaries along with fun family flicks (Christmas Vacation on the big screen? Yes, please!) and timeless classics (Casablanca? Oh my, yes!) They also regularly show The Rocky Horror Picture Show and some other cult classics at various times of the year as well as hosting other events such as Comedy on Tap. But wait, there's more! They have a bar area upstairs that serves beer & wine that you can take into the theater. Plus their prices on concession stand snacks & soda were quite reasonable in comparison to the big chain theaters (for example, just $10 for a medium combo of medium soda & medium popcorn when that would easily cost you at least $16 at the big chain theaters). Oh, and did I mention they truly have THE BEST popcorn around? Popcorn is one of my all-time favorite foods and theirs is truly the best movie theater popcorn I've ever had. They must buy some premium quality big kernels of popcorn (but serve it to you at below-premium prices!) because they pop up some big, fluffy popcorn there. And if you want butter on your popcorn they use real clarified butter (make mine a double!). Last, but certainly not least, the staff there are all very nice!

This is a nice family owned theater in downtown Vancouver. The prices are comparable to other bigger theater chains, $10 for "day of" admission, or $7 for advanced tickets online or walk-up. Mondays are $6 all day. Their movies range from independent to classic. This theater was added to the National Registry of Historic Places in 2012. The concession stand is pretty small, but they have a pretty good selection of food and beverages...at comparable theater prices. They have complimentary ice water in the hallway outside the theater. The seats are a lot nicer than I remember from the last time I saw a movie here, but the prices are higher too, so maybe that's why...upgrades. You can also sign up for their newsletter on their website and they will send you an email with their new weekly movies. Overall, I love the old theater feel, the huge vintage sign out front and the quaint size of this theater (single screen). I'll definitely be back!

John P. Kiggins (1868-1941) is largely responsible for laying the groundwork of the Vancouver that we know today. He was Mayor for 4 terms between 1909-1938 (not consecutively) but his trade was as a builder. His legacy is all around present day Vancouver from the Kiggins Bowl Stadium to various office buildings. However Kiggins passion was moving pictures. His passion led him to building an ornate palace to this new entertainment media. Now, in this new age of movie theaters with stadium seating, sound systems that can realistically put you on Omaha Beach on D-Day, digital this and Dolby that we find ourselves craving that movie experience from our childhood. There, standing the test of time, newly rebuilt with a passion that rivals that of John P. Kiggins himself is the Kiggins Theater. I walked in past the tiny ticket booth and I was transformed back to the old Fox Theater in Pomona, California, where I spent my childhood watching everything from Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory to Disney's The Computer Wore Tennis Shoes. The snack bar looked great, it was clean and the popcorn smelled heavenly. Tasted even better. And the prices! So inexpensive! The theater is large with ornate light fixtures, velvety looking curtains and the seats were the only thing definitely looking 21st Century. Thank you Kiggins owners for putting smart money in the right places. Another thing that impressed me was the sound system, very up to date and crystal clear. I am definitely in love with this theater. Now we do not have to cross the river to get that old tyme theater experience anymore. The Kiggins is back, as grand as the day she opened with new touches in the right places. Long may she shine as the cultural beacon of downtown Vancouver.

I absolutely LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this theater. Where else can you see A Christmas Story while sitting in plush leather seats with a bucket of popcorn dripping with real butter with a pint sized glass of beer at hand---for less than $20? HERE! Yes, my English teacher might not approve of the run-on sentence, but that is inconsequential! With a history spanning from 1936 to today, there is no shortage of historic charm...retro lighting features, classic movies, an antique projector in the entry way....this is a destination for those of us that appreciate preserving the times of yesteryear while enjoying the comforts of the present. Christmas trees with sparkly white lights adorned the stage before the movie began, and classic Christmas music played softly in the background. It set the holiday mood for our brief sojourn...we are anxious to return.

I'm able to go to the movies again!!! My partner and I went for their first opening show since closing for the pandemic. It was safe, the seats were spaced out and every other row was closed off. I can't tell you how great it felt being able to support this business again as they've been struggling through this like so many other small businesses. If you feel comfortable going out in public I really recommend this. Mandatory mask wearing and physical distancing were being practiced and they are currently only at 25% capacity so again, we felt quite safe. Thanks to Dan and his staff for making such a memorable evening. Support your local theater!!

Fun stop and one of my old haunts. It's a bit of an abnormal theater, but Fun and way more comfortable. The guy who owns it is a great guy, and you can't top being able to watch old classics, as well as b movies, on the big screen! My wife and I were just here for the Bride of Frankenstein and were pleasantly surprised to discover profits today going to help a youngster fighting leuchemia! Isn't that great! What a fun hang out!

Love the classic Kiggins Theater--was there recently for two events and a fun experience both times. General seating, easy on street parking which is free after 6pm and a nice selection of bevs/snacks. During the cooler months, plan on bundling up with thicker socks and maybe stashing a pair of gloves for extra warmth. The theater has maintained its beauty over the decades but for the heating system which may leave a bit to be desired

Kiggins rules!!! Hand picked films, real butter popcorn, local beer & wine, and legit people owning and working here. DON'T SUPPORT REGAL/ GIVE YOUR MONEY TO A PLACE THAT NEEDS AND DESERVES IT.

Adorable little theatre in downtown Vancouver. The selection of upcoming films looks independent and obscure . Sweet little lounge upstairs serves beer and the like . Comfy seats and an adequate sound system. Added bonus , nutritional yeast for the popcorn. Seems to have ample parking near by.

E side of Main St. just S of W 11th St. John Kiggins' influence is easily found all over the Vancouver area as one of the Vancouver's former mayors for 4 terms (even during Prohibition mind you...what a Badass) this comes as no surprise. Kiggins loved moving pictures which thus led to the building of this most beautiful and clean theater. This theater serves as a perfect example of Movie Theaters of days gone by from the large, bright, beautiful marquee out front, to the classic movies shown, to the seating, to the sound system, or even to the old school Ticket Booth where tickets can be purchased. This place really does take one back... but in a good way. Here you won't find a huge booming sound system that's played at levels that are meant to put you in the movie instead opting for the original type system with two clear sounding speakers located in front giving one more of a feeling of watching a movie more privately almost like on a very large projection TV in a large screening room. The soft leather reclining seats are very comfortable and all have Cupholders to store your drink if you have one...don't have one, but want to get a little more comfortable or closer to someone special? You're covered because the Armrests go up! Seating is well spread out allowing one to easily stretch out his or her legs. The Snack Bar had a good variety and while prices were a little on the higher side compared to non-movie house markets, their prices are still lower than the big guys! Their website is well laid out and easily navigable. Prior to the reopening of Kiggins Theater one would have to travel across the river to experience an old time theater, but thanks to KT people in the Vancouver area have this gem to come and enjoy. When I went I was literally the only person watching the movie. I truly hope this is not indicative of the norm because this place is definitely worthy of many fans. Peeps that would like to imbibe before taking in a flic can rejoice by partaking in either beer or wine in their bar (Washington will not permit alcohol in the main auditorium.) There is either street parking or a dedicated lot located on the corner of Broadway & 9th. Prices for events or movies here are a Recession busting free to $5. The staff working is very kind and inviting... if you have the time do not be afraid to chit chat. Thank you owners of Kiggins for all your awesomeness!

Run, run, run! We arrived at the theater exactly at 9:00 p.m. -- their website's posted hour for the start of the movie (but not Fandango's -- Fandango is often wrong for Vancouver theaters, I've noticed); the person we bought our tickets from told us that they started the movie about 5 minutes early, as it was a double feature, and no one in the theater said they were expecting anyone. Interesting. The first movie wasn't something I'd watch if you glued my eyelids open and tied me to a chair aimed at it. Long movie. A real bladder-buster. Fortunately, I was well-acquainted with the story (having read the book years before, and again recently), so the bits I missed didn't cause problems. After the show was over, I had the chance, while discussing the film with His Goatness, to look around -- the theater was in serious need of repair. The seats were threadbare and rickety, with sprung springs and whole sections blocked off as unsafe. Reminded me of the theater in St. Kitts, which had given over the entire lower floor to rats the size of monkeys and cockroaches the size of rats -- primarily because the theater served beer in bottles, and the patrons persisted in throwing the bottles over the balcony. At least the patrons here didn't have shouted conversations on cell phones during the film. Still, I will happily patronize a second-run or art-house theater any day over the sleek, modern, clean megacorp multiplexes -- with their hour of commercials, fer cryin' out loud, their obnoxious P.C. "courtesy" reminders, and their godsawful prices... they offend me.

I always have such a good time here. They're the only theater in the area that plays My Little Pony. I take my daughter and we have such a blast. Popcorn is delicious and I was excited to see they were a part of the FiveStar rewards program. Before the film showed, they thanked everyone for coming and requested the Bronies keep language PG due to the fact that there were 30 little girls in the audience, which was appreciated. We all clapped and sang along and had such a wonderful MLP experience!

Came here for a Science on Tap event. Cute charming theater with a concessions area that sells popcorn including real butter, soda, candy etc. Staff was very friendly. There were free rolled up posters in a box. The theater was quite large and the seats were firm and comfy. Very clean and well kept theater. I will come again for another event for sure! Parking is free on the street after 6pm mon-fri. The parking is metered but the meters are deactivated after 6pm on weekdays :) We were able to find parking easily at 6.30pm on a Tuesday.

Iconic, historic theater. The cultural heart beat of downtown Vancouver. Excellent movies, live comedy & shows. Great memories here!

This a fantabulous place! One of my favorite theaters. Affordable and invested in the community. A cultural icon of the 'Couve. Don't be afraid to dive in and get your brain wet, when they are showing an old classic or unfamiliar cult offering. Parking can be a drama downtown so make a night of it -dinner and show. I am counting down for DOCTOR WHO. Free live broadcasts with other crazed and costumed whovians, prizes and cheap treats! Also comfy wheelchair accessible theater and bathrooms. (Not accessible, but fun: the upper balcony.)

I would love to give this quaint little gem 5 stars, if it weren't for the somewhat disconcerting aroma of what can best be described as feline urine...

Great science on tap nights. Love that they renovated and kept the building. Consessions are unfortunately just as costly as any mainstream theater but there is beer, hard cider and pizza available upstairs. You can bring your drinks in the theater. On science nights you can compete to win a glass emblazoned with "science on tap". Those are a lot of fun as well as learning new information.

Love this theater. However...we went to see Echo in the Canyon... the sound was awful! Still a great film, but if you're going to show a film about music, please please please make sure the sound is functioning as the film makers intended. Only the center channel seemed to be working. I really want to see the Cure film, but will see it elsewhere if this sound issue isn't resolved. Come on now...we want to celebrate our local theater!

Returned for "Jackie," and thoroughly enjoyed a matinee. Planning to return Monday evening for "Noir Nights" in association with next door's Niche. Comfortable seating, yummy popcorn, and delightful adult beverages combine for an excellent experience. Please join the accommodating staff for a great film. Great local theater. Renovations are gorgeous. Small bar upstairs is attractive and great servers.

Well, I went to Anecdotal Evidence (a 'Couve version of Live Wire), and have yet to catch a flick. But, it was amazing to bump into the owner and talk about all her grand plans for the future of this historic theater that CANNOT disappear from downtown Vancouver. They've got a charming bar space on the second floor where you can sup a cider before hitting the show. Then, grab a bag of tasty, tasty (CHEAP, by movie theater standards) popcorn and settle in for your show. I was more than content to sit in my seat for two hours and listen to hilarious tales, and the sound was more than awesome. It's places like this that make me want to get out and brave dealing with the annoying public to see a show. Bonus that I've seen such amazing old features on queue. Thank goodness this landmark has been saved, nay, resurrected!

Awesome experience! Concessions were priced very affordable! And the staff was super friendly! We watched the old man with a gun, and it was a great choice!

This is one of my favorite places in the world. Don't think, just come and experience it- especially one of their themed nights.

I would like to say that this movie theater is rather nice. It is in downtown Vancouver. There is parking on the other side. There is a place where you can buy popcorn. The movies are not as current as one would assume - but the opposite side is that you have a theater that does have age and comfort in spades. The seats are lovely. The commercials are a bit long. There is always a kind face behind the concession stand and if I do come back here - never mind - I will. EDIT: There are also outdated posters for free if one wants.

Kiggins is awesome in so many ways. People really need to get down here and check it out. The new owner has sunk everything in to remodeling, updating and paying for better movies. The concessions are the best priced around and at $5 average per movie, it's still a steal. Do you have a favorite TV show? Well, chances are they have the rights to show it to you and all your friends and it's free to get in! What? Oh no they didn't...oh yes they did. And then there's the auditorium. It's simply awesome. It's restored with amazing leather high-back reclining seats. You can actually stretch your legs. Seriously, you could put your arms behind your head and push your feet all the way forward on the floor and still not hit the person in front of you. The staff are some of the best around. They really like working there (or at least are good at pretending. I really wish that Washington would allow alcohol in the auditorium like in Oregon...this place would do at least double the business because there is a cool little bar upstairs that serves beer and wine and snacks. Here's the kicker...the bar is literally behind the classic original lit marquee...just open the windows and there's the historic sign in all it's glory right there! High ceilings everywhere, decent movies, alt movies, classics (especially 80's), great prices, fantastic sound, best seats around, and amazing popcorn at better prices. These are hallmarks of Kiggins. And when you're done, walk to an amazing bar or restaurant or cafe close by. So why the missing 5th star? 1. There needs to be something warning people of the steps in the rows in the auditorium...I've seen too many people trip over it in the dim light (including me, and recently, and old lady who almost totally bit it). Just put some yellow paint on those and you're good. 2. They need better movies...but that requires more of you all to go and pay to be there so they can afford those crazy fees from hollywood to show first-run movies. 3. I really want them to improve the inside of that outside box office and actually use it...that would be awesome. Go here. You will like it. Get there early and get a drink and snack.

Never went pre-renovation, but from the sound of it here on Yelp, and the look of it now, I was pleasantly surprised. For a second-run theater, this is about as good as it gets. Everything is modernized, clean and cheap. Movies are $4, concessions are as cheap as they get for a theater, and the seating is fantastic. Plenty of roomy seating, and the chairs are some of the most comfortable I've sat it in. One minor complaint: During a quiet 5-10 minute stretch of the movie, I could hear two employees talking out in the concession area. Considering they have curtains, and not doors, you would think they would be more aware; thus, not talk loud enough to the point of where I can hear word for word, what they are saying, as I sit just a few rows up from the screen. However, after I could no longer stand the distraction, opting to ask if they could quiet it down, they obliged and I never heard them again. Otherwise, the staff was great. Glad to have this place in downtown Vancouver. Hope people discover/rediscover this great theater.

This is my favorite theater place ever. My mom had her first job here as an usher. Everything from movies to events, you won't be disappointed. And with the addition of the spirit bar upstairs, it's a great place to kick back and socialize with new and old friends.

The smell was very a pungent mix of overdone floral bathroom deodorizer, carpet freshener, popcorn and people. The furnace blasted this chemical mismash, and I was grateful to leave. Interior paint pallet unpleasantly dark, dimly lit. One guy sells you ticket and snacks at same time. I don't get the big hype on saving this place when it seems like sabotage in every corner.

Kiggins Theatre in downtown Vancouver is a great venue with theatre popcorn, snacks and has a bar upstairs. My University program has done multiple collaborations with Kiggins, hosting the Creative Media and Digital Culture program projects (WSU Vancouver), some CMDC events including the Willamette a Radio workshop. Kiggins also holds regular events like comedy night and shows movies, old and new.

They take suggestions of movies to show! How fun is that? $1.00 shows, perfect! Seats suck, but it looks like they're trying to rehab them. This is a beautiful theatre that has been messed with over the years. It needs a good facelift, and they could easily charge $5 per show and make money!

It was so much fun attending an educational lecture at this theater. The seats are comfortable and the feel of the theater is well-maintained classic old-timey -- I'd love to bring my dad to a show here. There's one toilet downstairs but the main bathrooms (as well as the bar) are upstairs. I had a delicious black currant cider, a large pour for $8 I believe, and the seats include cup holders. The modest bar was kept by a very friendly man who fit right in with the feel of the theater. Popcorn and snacks are on the main level before you enter the theater. The theater was larger than I imagined -- good thing too because I think the lecture was sold out! Parking is street only - I arrived late and had to park a few blocks away but the walk to and from the car felt perfectly safe. Street parking is no-cost in the evening.

I'm happy to Yelp that the Kiggins has had a facelift. New owners, new seats, new carpet, new bathrooms, new EVERYTHING. Yes, they've fixed the flooding water in the ladies' restroom and the creaky floor in the men's restroom. You will no longer get a gut rumble from their hot dogs because everything is CLEANED thoroughly after each movie and the entire vending area has been remodeled and now meets code and health standards. My husband describes it as "a facelift for an old friend"...They still feature great prices for movies, but BETTER than EVER. Staff is amazing, they care about your movie snacks and don't gouge you like the big boys of Regal. Extra butter is no trouble, neither is a refill for your beverage. My favorite - the vintage atmosphere can't be beat ! This art deco theatre built in the 1930's was wearing her wrinkles badly. A new owner ripped out the old wooden seats and installed NEW, soft, wide seats. Work is still happening on the sound system and stage. Upstairs, they just put in a bar. They have beer, wine, and spirits. No food at the bar as of yet, but they are always working on something new. I'm so glad this jewel was brought from the edges of ruin and despair to live again in downtown Vancouver! The Kiggins is once again part of our date nights and I'm glad for it.

Just went to the Kiggins for Walking Dead night on Sunday. Which is FREE by the way. The new theater looks great and the concessions are cheap by movie theater standards. They're doing a great job of keeping their screen full of interesting things to watch, the bar is nice and the seats are now comfortable. Anyone who remembers the old sticky-floor Kiggins will be impressed. I'll be going back again this Sunday.

I'd come to your theater A LOT if you showed interesting foreign films! I don't ever see things on the marquee that look interesting to me. I have been in your theater before and love everything about it. It would be great if it were more like the Living room Theater in Portland, and I think you would have a whole lot more business if that were the case. Hope you'll think about it, Cheri

I'm baffled as to why this theater isn't consistently packed....it's historical yet updated to plush leather seats the isles have so much space you don't have to have anyone move to walk by....BEST movie popcorn ever...local beer and wine and all you old time favorite snacks for a RIDICULOUSLY affordable price. It's locally owned and operated and more people need to support this theater! Im guilty myself of not coming enough but I'm going to make a habit of it!

Fun theatre. Lots of leg room with big seats, candy you don't usually get at chain cinemas, like Abba Zabba and Look. My only complaint is they need to make the beer colder. I will go back, and hope they turn the beer fridge down about 10 degrees.

I love the Kiggins! It is very neat old theater that has been updated for modern comforts. They serve good craft beer and cider along with popcorn and typical movie candy. The have great spacious seats and wide aisles where you can actually walk past people without stepping all over their feet/belongings! They play a good selection of new and older movies which are all very unique. Vancouver is lucky to have such a cool place! I will be going here more often to support a great, local theater!

I had been wanting to go to the Kiggins Theatre for a long time and finally did a few weeks ago to see "Moonlight". The theatre is fantastic and is like stepping into the past. The seating, however, is modern and very comfortable. I love the fact that they show old classic films and hard-to-find contemporary films. They also have a comedy night and wine tasting that sounds like fun. I can't wait to go again!

I grew up going to Kiggins. when it closed down i was really sad. Now its re-opened and re-modeled and still holds the integrity of a old school theater but now has comfy seats with cup holders and you can enjoy a movie without killing you back. They now take debit/credit cards which is great and ticket prices and concession prices are fantastic. when i went i got a small popcorn, a med soda and candy for $9. which would barely cover the cost of a small soda and small popcorn at regal or cinetopia. I'm so glad someone re-oped and brought it back to life. Kiggins is classic and will definitely go back again

Well, sveetie and I saw Back to the Future, and here are my thoughts. The new chairs, clean foors, and bright, new screen were definite pluses. Leg room was good. The popcorn was up to the usual high Kiggins standards (yay!). Server didn't mention free re-fill when I got a soda (nay!). Sounds system was a little soft and bass was thin, and high-end treble lacking, Could use some professional EQ-ing, and/or decent tweeters. Sounded like the "old Kiggins", expected better. I like some entertainment before the movies starts, the "old Kiggins" had trivia games on screen, or music playing, new kiggins...nothing...very boring!. And...movie started 10 min. late. It would be nice to get a hot dog (and beer) or something to eat besides candy while watching the movie, but I know that there's little food prep space there to do it...yet. Upstairs lounge was nice, but again, no music, or TV to watch. So, much better in alot of area's, but room for more improvements.

That's right the kiggins is getting the 5 star treatment. I have been going to the this theater for years, and I have to say that there is no other theater like it on the planet. I LOVE this theater, as no theater going experience is quite as "cultural" and rich as seeing a movie at the kiggins. You are definitely in for an adventure when you go here... my sister says it is akin to the county fair, and she hit the nail on the proverbial head. In addition to cheap prices and double features... along with great tasting popcorn, friendly down-to-earth staff, some of the highlights to look forward to when you attend the Kiggins (that add to the movie faire) are... -Drunk belligerent waywards who are being escorted out the door. It's a great pre-show! -The comfort of duck taped seats. ***warning*** always test the seat before sitting, and tread lightly. - Experimental sound system that changes volume and speed on occasion. This allows you to hear your popcorn crunch. -If you attend an "R" rated movie, the theater will be filled with crying babies and toddlers who run the aisles. You can't get that at the Regal. -Free tickets when the movie goes dead and they can't get the projector running. -Patrons who hold conversations with the actors on screen - After years of going without, there are now locks on the bathroom stalls!!! - If you're really lucky, you will fear for your safety. - No one will ask you to leave if you show up in pajamas. Seriously... I love going here. It is a cheap way to see a movie and there is so much more entertainment going on here. I hope to see you there!

Best place to see a Quentin Tarantino film - ever! Scratchy prints, popping speakers, wobbly seating, drunks wandering in and out... it's all there. And if you're not planning on seeing a Tarantino film at the mighty Kiggins, don't despair; this place actually Tarantinofies any movie they run! Imagine the possibilities and get yourself to Kiggins!

Lets see... the staff here are rude.. and the seats are sooooo uncomfortable to sit on.. Usually its really hott in there as well.. I would rather go to the Vancouver Plaza Regal Cinema for the same price..
