On top of the Paramount House Hotel in Surry Hills, you’ll find trays filled with freshly baked baguettes and bagels, flaky pies, focaccia, buttermilk croissants, buckwheat dark chocolate croissants, cream-filled donuts, and sweet fruit danishes. Nestled on a breezy rooftop terrace, AP bakery had that relaxing afternoon/early morning vibe on a day which you don't have to work. It is run well by a team of diligent staff that knows how to handle large volumes of customers. However, the key area which it is lacking are it's pastries. While some are invitingly curious the flavour combinations and the pastries themselves don't hold together well for an overall pleasant eating experience. While I cannot comment on their savory selection, the sweet choices on offer reminds one of Krispy Kreme or Dan's donuts - all the variety of intriguing sounding sweet, but nothing truly stands out. Great place to chill at, but not necessarily one to go to for the food.

I came in expecting to be disappointed but I absolutely walked away astounded. Everything they have looks fantastic, and everything I ate was extremely delicious. I would recommend the cookies, croissants and brisket pie in particular. The brisket pie had the perfect texture and after tasting the delicate and flaky skin the succulent meat burst into my mouth perfectly. What a treat!

Warning - their Basque cheesecake and dark chocolate cookies are really addictive! Once I had them, I kept coming back every day to get more! 😅 The ambience is lovely, on a spacious, quiet rooftop in Surry Hills, with lots of bright green plants that feel almost like sitting in an urban little garden. The staff is friendly and service is quick. Everything that I tried there was delicious. I highly recommend it!

The atmosphere and interior design of the space is so lively, modern and pretty to just sit there for hours and chat. There were so many different pastries to choose from, but my favourite was definitely the cheesecake slice (which was so thick and creamy). The place was full when we got there, so they let us order the food while we waited until a table opened up. It was super smooth and had a great time there!

This place is definitely stunning. Their bakery is one of the best in Sydney, as is the menu with great flavors and fresh bakery items. The perfect combo for an amazing breakfast! The staff was also attentive all the time and the environment was good.

We went on Monday just before closed. The staff was nice and helpful. We ordered the tiramisu flavor puff, the filling taste very rich and smooth, definitely worth the price! My friend and I loved it! But the shop is pretty small and has a bench outside. Can only do take away. Looking forward to try more!

I came here because of the bakery’s reputation, but I was pleasantly surprised to find that the egg and bacon congee was absolutely amazing. I’ll definitely be coming back again. I also tried the matcha, and it was quite good!

We visited Sydney from Brisbane and stopped by A.P. House on a Tuesday morning. The atmosphere was amazing, the food was fantastic, and the staff were all so lovely and accommodating. Our family of six was seated quickly, everything was spotless, and our meals came out in no time. The Salted Pistachio Rhubarb Tart and the Turkish Eggs are an absolute must-try! Highly recommend.
