The 31 Best Places To Eat & Stay In Sydney - Sydney - The Infatuation

"Sure, rooftop bars are pretty great, but AP Bakery is something even better: a rooftop bakery. On top of the Paramount House Hotel in Surry Hills, you’ll find trays filled with freshly baked baguettes and bagels, flaky pies, focaccia, buttermilk croissants, buckwheat dark chocolate croissants, cream-filled donuts, and sweet fruit danishes. It’s the perfect place to enjoy one of Sydney’s (almost always) sunny mornings, with a coffee (Reuben Hills supplies the beans) and city views. There are some larger options on the menu too, like a crispy bacon sandwich on fermented potato ciabatta, wagyu beef pies, and seasonal salads." - caroline clements 33

We went on Monday just before closed. The staff was nice and helpful. We ordered the tiramisu flavor puff, the filling taste very rich and smooth, definitely worth the price! My friend and I loved it! But the shop is pretty small and has a bench outside. Can only do take away. Looking forward to try more!

The bakery’s located on the rooftop via the lift such an amazing open space with great views. Tried the pistachio and rhubarb flan plus the orange & almond pound cake 🍰 Both were fine, but nothing that really stood out for me. Still worth a visit for the rooftop vibes alone

The bakery is located on the rooftop via the lift. Pastries were fully stocked in the morning and it was already quite busy on a weekday. Ordered both their twice baked croissants to try and was lucky that there were a few tables available as you are supposed to reserve and provide a table number when ordering. Both the macadamia, honey & thyme croissant and the hazelnut & chocolate praline one had a crispy exterior and soft layers inside with a generous amount of filling and nuts. Both were sweet and decadent; chocolate praline was a safer option while the macadamia was quite unique with a honey glaze and a touch of thyme.

Gorgeous spot conveniently located close to the CBD. Pastries have an amazing spread with a high standard across both savoury and sweet options. The bombalini and the amann were particularly good. Food is hearty, slightly smaller portions actually suit well to fit in the variety of baked goods. The brisket sandwich was juicy and rich, the fried chicken sandwich crispy and the French toast was wonderfully toasty and sweet. The wait can be a bit long, so get in earlier in the day, but the seating is gorgeous with a shade that comes out as the sun peeks from behind the clouds.

Not being from here, I scoffed at the prices a little. It was only once I’d had a taste of my food and my coffee that I could see how they could justify their pricing. Such a cute spot on the rooftop that I couldn’t not sit and stay for a while. The area was packed, understandably, so the worker was very accommodating with me to make sure I had a spot once someone got up. My dirty chai was silky and my sausage roll was spectacular. That ‘green goddess dressing’ they have on the side really adds something to it. I envy the people of Sydney and their luck in having places just like this one all around

This place is awesome. We ordered the praline hazelnut croissant and the ham & gruyere croissant. Blew our minds. We also had the avocado bagel and it was jammed with veg (in a good way). Had the flat white & mocha coffees and loved them. We’re not sure why this place isn’t 5 stars… This is such a lovely place with great food, friendly servers and a great rooftop! Would be back everyday if we could!

Intentionally came at the opening hours (7.30 am) to get a spot in this amazing breakfast place on the rooftop. Been trying to come a few times , but never got lucky with the queue. Food was good, The pastry is exceptionally perfect (hazelnut croissant never been this good) The atmosphere and vibe are perfect for breakfast&brunch, the STAFFS are really helpful and kind. Accidentally dropped my latte and they got me a new one (unexpected lol) Overall, 10/10. Friendly tips, Come before 8am to get your table early !

Team was very friendly and fast. Great vibe for autumn with outdoor seating. Didnt dine in this time but would come back for it. We got 2 savoury and 2 sweet items. All amazing and fresh. The bread was soft on the tomato roll. 3 milk bun wasn't too sweet and perfectly balanced filling inside. Chocolate chip cookie was yum- chocolate in every bite. Brisket pie was definitely the star and our favourite!
