Golden Goods Sandwich and Bake Shop

One of the top vegan spots I’ve been too. Not just in Hood River, but all of the greater Portland area. The Korean Jackfruit is 🧑‍🍳👌🏻. The jackfruit is perfectly tender, but still with just the right amount of texture, and perfectly marinated. The tomato soup is so perfect on a rainy day. Last, not least - that chocolate chip cookie. Perfectly soft chewy center, slight crisp on the outside, big pieces of chocolate and just the right amount of salt. Don’t bother having any other vegan chocolate chip cookies in your life.

Lovely cafe and great vibes! Me and my husband visited this cafe during our vacation. We visited here for brunch and tried on a lot of items. The Strawberry and Hibiscus slushy was refreshing, Carrot lox toast and Veggie Romesco sandwich was full of flavours. We also got a cookie which was well baked with gooey chocolate chips! Great experience

Wow wow wow wow wooooow! Even as a vegetarian, I have never had any love of vegan restaurants but this must be a winner in my books! What a phenomenal culinary experience! My taste buds were screaming with joy! Perfectly balanced meal, Perfectly balanced flavors, perfect salt levels...what more could I ask for! Im so happy I came in July and tried the July special. A Chipotle sweet potatoes wrap hit the spot brilliantly. Tangy, strong, good salt, great variety lf veggies...it was divine. The PB&J cookie was great as well! I could not believe the amazingness! The Bahn mi sandwich was also perfect in my eyes! What a truly great spot!

So tasty! Had the breakfast biscuit and a latte with oat milk. I love how every different component in the biscuit sandwich had a distinct flavor. And I appreciate how every menu item is 100% plant based. This will become a new way point when traveling along I-84!

We made a pit stop here for lunch on our way to Portland. My bf and I shared the tofu banh mi and the bbq jackfruit korean sandwiches. Both were amazing, and we plan to stop there again on our way back home. Fully vegan! Highly recommend!

Golden Goods is a great place to have lunch. We had the banh mi and the buffalo cauli wrap. The cauli wrap was amazing, the banh mi was verrrry spicy in the beginning; I think there was a whole jalapeño in my first bite haha I advise you to be careful.

Had a lovely experience here and the food was fantastic. The woman working during lunch time was so kind and friendly, also it was very clean and cozy inside. Ordered the T-BLAT, side of potato salad and an almond milk latte. All of it lived up to the hype. I am not vegan but I will come back to try their other menu items next time I’m in Hood River. Highly recommend.

I’ve been meaning to try this vegetarian/vegan forward sandwich shop and am so glad I finally did! Such a great selection of sandwiches. The classic veggie with Greek goddess sauce was delicious! The sweet potato curry soup was a delight. The baked goods looked amazing, I wish I would have grabbed some. Will be coming back!

We don't live in Hood River, but we definitely want to come back to Golden Goods the next time we're in town. They have delicious sandwiches and very friendly, helpful staff. The sandwich portions are huge, so you're definitely getting your money's worth, and if you don't have a big appetite, you can always save half to take home and eat later.

Fresh healthy delicious vegan salads and sandwiches . Not fancy, but cute open seating. Affordable too!

Excellent cauli wrap , danish and watermelon juice. I'm picky & skeptical. Throughly enjoyed. Mahalo again

Jackfruit burrito (vegan) was a huge portion and very filling!!! Super good and flavorful! Definitely worth a stop for lunch or breakfast. Super friendly service and nice area. Nice music indoors and a good spot to have a cup of coffee.

REALLY loved this place. The Ban Mi sandwich was amazing along with this incredible, whole leaf tea I've never heard of before and must've been their own, special blend. On top of that the service was super friendly and just a good all around vibe. Coming from Portland, I felt like it was well worth the drive if you like vegan food (or are just looking for a good, plant-based option to substitute the normal fare you're used to getting). Will definitely come back here again, the next time we're in town!

Delicious food, whether you are vegan or not! I am not a vegan myself but came to try this fairly new spot with a friend. We absolutely LOVED our sandwiches! We got the T-BLAT and the Korean Jackfruit, one with the salad and one with pasta salad. Everything was rich in flavor and plated nicely. The sandwiches are hearty, and depending on your level of hunger, you could easily only eat half of one sandwich! The owners are friendly and helpful to explain/recommend the menu. The space is beautifully decorated, making for a relaxing and pleasant dining experience. Definitely will return!

The espresso and pastries are great! Daughter has severe nut allergies and since they make the pastries there she was directed to safe ones for her that were not cross contaminated. In her 20 yrs of life that was the first time she enjoyed fresh bakery bought goods! We are not vegan, if that matters, but we enjoyed every single thing we tried.

Hands down best pastry in town! Good cuppa, delish danish, and the day is off to a great start! Always friendly staff. Such a cute little cafe!

Great plant based sandwich-today was Mushroom po boy. The plant based pastries are wonderful. Only wish they opened earlier??

(This is actually my second time here, the first time I had the tofu Golden Bānh Mi and enjoyed it! But I don't like reviewing foods from memory) Great new vegan cafe from a Gorge local who has been involved with food for years! This time I tried the chickpea salad sandwich, it seems like a rarity these days to get food that is seasoned just enough to allow the ingredients to shine, and not over salted (well, not surprising if you've ever been to the owner's other restaurant across the street Broder Øst) Service was quick, the space is open and modern, and I will definitely be coming back! Prices are a little high at the moment, but that's the new reality for Hood River and the USA. Still a good bargain for the quality of food! The music both times has been all over the place but not excessively so, I heard rap, Paul Simon, classical guitar... but I'm exactly the kind of person who can appreciate all those in a single session.

Best everything. Great food, friendly owners & staff, delicious pastries, and magic tempeh. You can't go wrong here - Hood River is so lucky to have this option in town.

The SMELLS when I walked in were amazing! I don't usually eat vegan, but I was really just intrigued by this little shop. I had the Korean Jackfruit sandwich with an iced coffee. Perfect little lunch! The pickles on the sandwich were something special. The coffee was great. Highly recommend!

I'm not a sandwich person, so it takes a lot to impress me. We tried 3 sandwiches, and they were hands down THE BEST sandwiches I've ever had. I would crave all 3, and will be back every time I'm in Hood River. I think the Banh Mi was my favorite, but it is so hard to choose. If you are in Hood River or even somewhere near by...eat here!

FINALLY delicious plant based options besides hummus and garden burgers! This place is awesome! Got the mushroom po'boy, and Banh mi. Both excellent. Full of flavor and fresh ingredients. Oh, and got a danish for desert which was amazing. Really. Going to be a regular stop for us. I hear breakfast is good, too. Wanted to get some pictures of the beautiful presentations, but dug right in and was so focused on eating it, we forgot!

So glad we happened upon this place. Service was friendly and the food was delicious. It's vegan, we're both meat eaters, and we left feeling completely satisfied. We'll definitely return when in the area.

Absolutely loved this place! Everything we tried tasted so fresh and flavorful. Even though they're new, the staff is really dialed in with quick service and a smile, I had no idea what to get and Savannah was so helpful giving me recommendations and answering any questions. The shop itself is so cute- you can tell the owners really loved creating the space. Plus it's located in the perfect place in downtown, so when we visit it's lovely to walk and stop in. Can't wait to go back and try more things, but especially get more chocolate chip cookies!

FINALLY.....Solid plant-based options have landed in downtown. It's about time! So happy we stumbled upon Golden Goods! Cute storefront, clean interior, super friendly employees. We ordered the sweet potato sandwich and also the tofu banh mi, and both sandwiches were really good. I think we both preferred the sweet potato sandwich slightly over the banh mi, just because there were so many complex flavors happening with the sweet potato sando. We're talking chimmichurri, sweet potato, avocado, cabbage slaw, and black bean purée. SO GOOD. I wonder if it's an option to toast the sandwich bread here? I feel like that would take the sandwiches to the next level! Also worth noting are the potato chips that accompany the sandwiches. The chips taste homemade and they are perfectly crunchy and salty. You could tell that lots of care was put into preparing our meal and we were grateful for that! We'll be back for sure!

Great all-vegan sandwich shop for breakfast or lunch. Has an espresso machine as well.
