Pizza A Metro

I stopped by to try this place after seeing it mentioned on Arizona Pizza Lovers on Facebook. The waitress and cook were really welcoming and friendly. I sat on the patio which you get to through the kitchen. It was really nice and clean there. I ordered the pizza and they served it with an appetizer that was just as delicious as the pizza. Thin crust, foldable with just the right amount of flop. It wasn't overly greasy and the crust was wood-fired to perfection. They had a lot more delicious looking items on the menu and I can't wait to go back.

In this very unsuspecting hole in the wall Italian eatery, you will find that most everything you taste will be fresh, and flavorful. I never would have seen this place if not for the reviews, which honestly seemed too good to be true. In trying the dishes for myself, I am very glad that I was wrong. While most restaurants would consolidate their menus by reducing options and simplifying selections; this restaurant takes common, tasty sauces, and pairs them with entrees that have their own flavor profile, all while maintaining it's authenticity. With the name of "Pizza A Metro" I fully expected the menu to highlight the pizza, but I was not prepared in the slightest to be dazzled by the light, fluffy, crispy pizza crust they serve. The exceptional sauce to cheese to toppings ratio is also one of those specifics that most pizza makers fail to aspire to. Everything was great. We tried the carbonara, cheese ravioli, veal cannelloni, Pollo affumicato, and pepperoni pizza. Everything was balanced, flavorful, and filling. While the prices may drive away some patrons; I would be willing to pay a premium for this quality of food. I hope to return soon, hungry for more.

Exceptional - truly authentic slice of Italian dining in a very unassuming location. We had the meat lover pizza and it was sooo good. Fresh ingredients and friendly service. It was referred to us by a friend that we stop in and we’re so glad we did.

Ordered the giant meter long pizza. It was perfectly cooked and was delicious. Great service, great food, a real diamond in the rough! Can’t wait to go back.

Just had an early dinner and let me tell me tell you! Will be back forsure! It is a little chilly out however the outdoor siting in the patio is heated with heater. The whole vibe is BEAUTIFUL! The owner and staff all provide amazing service! Makes you feel like family. We order a 16in pizza and we had to stop ourselves from eating the whole pie !we will be back SOON!

Writing this review about a week or so late - we live near this restaurant and frequented it often when our kids were young but hadn't been there in years. Called and in inquired about the price and size of pizzas as we had family in town and needed to feed six adults. Margarita was awesome to interact with on the phone especially since I called a few times with questions. We ended up ordering the 36 inch size. I picked it up and met Margarita in person. She was super kind. The pie was PERFECT - great flavor and the exact size for the group. Everyone commented on how good it was. Now the wife and I need to have a date night there!

Absolutely incredible pizza experience, just by sheer size alone it’s ridiculous. Add the fact that it is still a wood oven pizza made with fresh ingredients and they have custom size boxes because the pizza is so big! that meter pizza is amazing. it’s definitely the definition of family owned hole in the wall, but the flavors and the quality of all their food. Even their seafood pastas are great. The tiramisu might be one of the best I’ve ever had. They’ve been around for like 16 years now, I think it’s a pretty well known staple of the community. You definitely want to order from them when you have that big pizza party.

This is an incredible Italian restaurant, the food is always on point. With prices increasing I would love to see them moving to tableside ordering and payment, I think it would help them keep costs down enough to lower menu pricing, turn twice the number of tables in the same amount of space, and move to a no tipping system. Total savings to diners could be 35 % while reducing costs and increasing income for the owners. That's what I'd focus on - even though the service was great. Atmosphere is nice too, very cute. Also it's pretty conveniently located although most people don't think about it.

Everything was amazing, food drinks and service was A+. We live in Mesa and drove 40 miles to get there and it was worth it . Love the ambiance .

Thiese stars for the the restaurant and NOT for GrubHub. We used Yelp's arrangement with GrubHub to order delivery from here. First - about the restaurant - they had our order ready in the 15 minutes Grub Hub told them to - and then they waited a total of 45 minutes for the driver to show up - and created a new Creme Brulee so that we could eat one as fresh as it can be. I learned this by calling the restaurant (at Grub Hub's insistence) to ask where our order was. The person who answered the phone (right away) gave ne a blow-by-blow ddescription immediately. I will be going to the restauarant in person in the future! Sencond - GrubHub: I waited 9 minutes for someone to answer and 3 minutes for them to tell me they had no idea where the driver was - which is when they ordered me to call the restauirant to find out what was happening. When the driver showed up she runnaged through her car for a full minute tofind our order - so the problem to me is that she was clearly way too over-scheduled to create a timely delivery. I will not be using Yelp's GrubHub arrangement until I somehow receive proof that it has been completely revamped.

Best pizza in az hands down. Takes a minute, but worth the wait. You can taste the quality of ingredients.

This place is absolutely awesome. The food top notch and the dessert beyond delicious. The service was so personal and friendly. Our first time here we welcomed like family. We will definitely be back. The spaghetti so amazing and the pizza was perfection.

This place has been our GCU move-in and move-out place. Just got back from another move in, and it didn't disappoint. Food is great, with good drink specials on certain nights. Had the salad, calamari, and pizza, and everything was great. Service is always very friendly as well. Food is on the pricier side, but you pay for quality, and this place is quality! You'd probably never stop in if you drove by it, but go. You won't be disappointed.

My husband and I came here because we were craving pizza. We looked for a dog friendly patio because we wanted to bring our pup. We found this place and I am so glad we did! The pizza tasted so fresh and the service was spectacular. They even brought us a complimentary appetizer before our meal. The restaurant is in a bit of a sketchy area, but don't let that deter you from trying the delicious food!

Delicious food and great service. Don't let the surroundings discourage you. This was a great stop on the way to a concert downtown to avoid crowds and parking headaches. The salad, pizza, and cannolis were all awesome and the server/owner was super sweet.

Server was nice food was okay. I would say the red pasta was the best, the chicken Alfredo was bland and the pizza crust seemed very odd and was drenched in juice so our pizza was a soggy mess.

Margarita and her staff are the cherry on top because after you've had their amazing food, all you're left with is coming back for more. You can dine in or take it back home. Either way you are covered from salad, pasta and their sharing size metro pizza. Pizza a Metro is great for couples, families or a business lunch-in. They have a great ambiance for anyone.

The parking lot and outside ambiance of the street and the drugstore surrounding this hole in the wall are not good , let's be honest. We were crossing our fingers as we walked into an empty dining room and then through the kitchen to the back patio . Service Great! Food Great! Food is better than your expensive italian food/pizza joint . We had the house salad , fried calamari and 3 pizzas. Good wine and morretti beer. Again... terrible walk up vibes and feelings ..: but as my son said : "that's phoenix for you". Would we prefer fancier ambiance ? probably super hot in the summer outside but who knows . probably not !! the food was great!

The service was not only amazing but the food was delicious, you think it may be overpriced for the area but the pizza doesn't disappoint. it's completely a hidden gem.

Service is friendly and quick. I waited for my pizza inside and the interior was clean. The pizza was good but expensive. You're looking at ~$48 for a 16" pizza with 3 toppings. This may be my fault for ordering a custom pizza but even the typical specialty pizzas were $38-40/each. Be aware that you will pay 4% more when using a card, so bring cash. Also, the parking situation is rough.

It's just me, but driving up to a "pizza joint" in an older strip mall predisposes me to expect meh food. This time I was not disappointed about the food or service. Seating is limited in the front of the store, however there is more seating in the rear of the store, but outside. It's a mom-&-pop business so there's a personable quality. My wife had a vegetarian pizza and she loved it. My calzone was very good. I'd order it again. We started with chicken wings (BBQ) and they were outstanding! One more thing, there are two pizza joints in that strip mall, so make sure you go to the one on the end, Pizza A Metro.

Everything about this place is GREAT! We try visit this restaurant at least once or twice a month. When we have family visiting from out of state, we try to bring them here. We usually share a salad and a 39' inch pizza. If this place was in a different location, I truly believe it would always be packed from open to close. PLEASE don't let the area discourage you from visiting. It's small and it has very friendly staff!

Small business that can dish out some amazing Italian food! Homemade pasta with a vodka sauce that was delicious. The white wine clam sauce, impeccable. This unexpected jewel is a great place to stop off before diving home from downtown. I can say that living an hour away doesn't stop us from this amazing place. Great service, great food, and the belly agrees, great fun! Thank you for the yummies, North Phoenix residents who come for great Italian at Pizza A Metro!

This is surly a diamond in the ruff. A hidden treasure in the getto. Food here is amazing and the service is paramount! Me and my wife seen this small restaurant and been wanting to visit and happy we had. The chicken parmigiana was mouth watering and the stuff ravioli was memorable. All hand made, you can see into the kitchen as they cook. The desert was as is it was a five star restaurant. We Will definitely be coming back.

OMG! My nephew and his girlfriend took me to this restaurant for my birthday. My first choice restaurant was completely booked and i honestly was bummed and wasn't looking forward to having to go to another spot. This place is located in a little plaza. It is super quaint and small. Our server was friendly and attentive. We received complimentary bread with this amazing tomato dip. We ordered calamari as our appetizer. Tasty! For my main course, I had Shrimp Scampi with Angel hair pasta paired with a glass of Moscato (my favorite sweet wine). Meal was delicious and a generous portion size. My nephew ordered the chicken parm and his girlfriend had the bolognese. We all thoroughly enjoyed our meals. Everything I ate here was bursting with flavor!

This restaurant is a hidden gem! The owner, Margarita, is a super host, and very attentive to every detail. Her staff follows her lead, and is also very courteous and respectful to all the guests. The wood-burning oven was in plain sight, and the pizza artist was a pleasure to observe . I was extremely pleased with my experience, and will be back again when visiting Phoenix. I believe if you do anything well, you'll have all the business you want, and I anticipate this to be a long lived restaurant.

Do not let the look of this place and the neighborhood deter you from giving this place a try. We popped in at the end of a trip on our way to the airport. The pizza was AMAZING! Had a classic margherita pizza and the calamari appetizer. Perfect wood fired pizza with great sauce, cheese, and crust. The lady who waited on us was great too. Will definitely make this a stop every time I visit the Phoenix area in the future.

I've been coming here for years. It's a little out of the way for us now, but it's worth it. Best pizza in the valley, in my opinion, and amazing service. It's in an inconspicuous location, but the ambiance is great. If it's cool enough to sit on the back patio, I highly recommend it.

We were really excited to try this place! Right in our neighborhood kind of pricey ($40 for 16") but we were ok with that bc it was close to home. Well it was disappointing. The Crust was really thin and damp, there was very little sauce, the supreme toppings were good but the service was awful and just rude. Why pay $2 for an extra sauce cup and it was half full! No never again.

I've been going to Pizza A Metro for over 10 years now, and this place is amazing. They offer great service and some of the best pizza in Arizona. Many people don't realize that every time we visit, it's nothing but the best pizza around. I'm looking forward to going back soon, especially since they recently updated their patio in both the back and front. Once it cools down, it will be the perfect Italian restaurant to sit down with the family and enjoy the scenery.

This place is fantastic! The food was amazing, service was kind and fast, and the mom and pop shop feel of the restaurant was the cherry on top! 11/10 recommend!

First let me start by saying Margarita is amazing!! Great customer service. If you have a large group call ahead and make a reservation. The eating area only holds about 20 people. We got 2 of the 39" pizza. Half meat lovers/supreme and the half Hawaiian/bbq chicken. In order meat lovers, Hawaiian, bbq chicken last but not least supreme. They were all really good. 10/10 highly recommend

This is a must stop for me now when I am In Phoenix!! The service was incredible and a great experience. The food was amazing and you could tell that it was "made with love" as the owner says. We sat in the patio area and in order to get there you have to walk through the kitchen which was interesting but also very cool to see how clean everything was!! I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for incredible pizza and service!

It's easy to overlook in an unassuming strip mall across from Ocean Floor Aquarium store but this joint is legit! The meter long pizza is great. Tried half Margherita and half sausage. Whoa! Your taste buds will go bonkers. Good crust, right balance of sauce to cheese. Generous with the toppings. Our friends ordered fried calamari and the calamari salad while we enjoyed the very generous caprese salad. Service was great. There is a front patio with four tables, a few tables inside or you can walk through the kitchen to the back patio with about four more tables, festive lights and shade covering. We will definitely come back. Great place and good service, too!

Caesar salad with chicken is not worth it. $21 for thin chicken strips. The high reviews are definitely for pizza and not their salads

I absolutely have to say my favorite part of Pizza A Metro was the family feel! From the moment you walk in to the service laughs and smiles! Located in a little strip mall you'd miss it if you didn't know so make sure and bookmark it to give it a try. We originally were staying downtown for an event and after seeing wait times of 2 hrs we decided to venture out and we couldn't be happier! The space is small and cozy and welcomes conversation! The menu has some of everything, pizza, pasta, meaty dishes, veggie dishes you name it they have it! We got 2 regular pizzas, wings and a chefs salad and it was enough to feed 3 adults, a teenager and a toddler with almost an entire pizza left over! Hands down book marking this place as we have multiple events in town so we will be back!

Margarita is very nice and friendly. The place was a little busy, but that didn't slow her down. Our food took a bit to come out, but it sure worth the wait. It's a bit small, but love the cozy feeling. We will definitely be back.

I ordered a pizza and a salad. My friend got a Caprese sandwich. Everything was delicious. The service was awesome. The waitress was very nice and very helpful. It's a very small inside, and they have nice outside seating also which makes it kind of nice and intimate and not too large and crowded. I would definitely eat the pizza again I love woodfired pizza It's nice to have a classy place to eat in this neighborhood.

Taste just like NYC pizza! Moved here 2 yrs ago and been dying for a similar NYC slice and this is the closest. This spot is so chill , great for date night or fam night. The manager or owner not sure , shes so nice, talked to us for awhile, great service. Definitely coming back. They're so kind here.

Outrageously expensive. $13 for 6 wings. $20 and up for almost everything else at lunch. This isn't fine dining. Simply unobtainable for working class people.

This place is a to go for pizza and pasta!!! It is hidden in a corner of strip mall, but don't let that stop you. They only have a few tables so early. The food is amazing and service was great. They start us off with fresh bread. We ordered the meatball pizza and pepperoni pizza, plus I still had to get chicken alfredo fettucine. I can't get enough of their food!!! The place was comfortable and relaxing with the cool music, we did not want to leave. Just need a bigger stomach to eat more!

I got the spagetti and meatballs and it is the worse spagetti and meatballs that I have ever tasted. Wow, and there was no garlic bread. Awful!!!! I got my dinner to go and when I went in to pick it up, there were only 1 person eating there. I can see why, this place sucks. Don't go there, it is awful. Clay

Disclaimer: absolutely horrible neighborhood. Came here based on the reviews. As I sit here looking at the menu, I see that the health code is not very good. A "c" is not normally where I would eat. I am going to overlook this minor detail and order some food. Not much seating in the front, and when I entered they asked me if I wanted to sit on the back patio. I took them up on it. Broken keys. I have to walk through a door and walk through the kitchen to get to the back patio. It is a covered. It wood gazebo. The top is covered with a tarp which is a plus if it is raining. Also, there are heaters. But today is a beautiful day. There are four four top tables. It is a Friday evening and the place is empty back here. So it's perfect for me. That's ordered a supreme pizza medium size. The pizza comes in three sizes. Medium is a 16 inch and then they have a meter long pizza. A medium supreme pizza is $30. The waitress never asked if we wanted anything to drink. She just brought us water. Either the water or the ice has a very odd taste to it. The bathroom is in the very back of the restaurant between the patio and the kitchen. Very small. Clean but the waste basket is super small and it is overflowing. The supreme pizza has a lot of veggies. But I have one piece of pepperoni on my entire slice. Another slice has one pepperoni and one meatball. Seems like they could certainly use more meat on this supreme pizza. The pizza is woodfired. The pizza has really good flavor. And was cooked all the way through. Again, my only concern is that it was more of a vegetable pizza than a supreme with it lacking meat. The pizza had a good flavor not too much sauce. Lots of veggies. I would come here again if I was in the area. However, I would not go out of my way to come back.

Funky small place in strip mall, but the food was outstanding and the service terrific. Best pizza I have had in Scottsdale since I arrived two years ago, and I have tried a lot. The calamari fritti appetizer was great as well. The location is an hour away from where I live, but I will visit again often.

Dined here today for the first time in awhile, although we have picked up pizza to go. We ordered the meat lovers and a dozen of the buffalo wings. We received complimentary bread also, I forgot the name of the topping I think it was similar to bruschetta or maybe that is what it was called ‍ idk but it was delicious. The pizza was delicious, the wings were crispy and so flavorful. I'm thinking the woman who helped us was the owner? Not to sure but she was pleasant and polite. We literally cleaned house on the food and we never do that we usually have leftovers, I literally could not remember the wings being this good. Idk but if you haven't eaten here you're missing out.

Definitely a hidden gem with delicious pizza. Their wings and calzones are also quite delicious and overall was a great experience for the whole family!

First of all, the food really is good. It's like home cooked Italian. People are great, and service is on point. The problem is the location. It is awful down there. I think that once upon a time it wasn't a bad part of town, but now it's horrendous. If you can get past the horrible area and still feel safe, you will have great food. 5 stars for the food, 0 stars for location. So 2.5.

While visiting Phoenix this past weekend, I decided to order a pizza from here. The reviews were good, and it was only 6 minutes from where I was staying. Wow, I had no idea that this "is my kinda place." Only a few tables, great service, the pizza was EXCELLENT. I got mine to go, but next time, I will definitely dine in. Everything people were eating while I was there looked phenomenal. The staff was super nice, too. I will definitely be back.

Food is amazing, service is great, back patio is pretty cool, owner is awesome. We live right down the road from the place and decided to try it. Have been back 5 times since then and I recommend anyone who comes from out of town to try it. All of the pizzas are amazing. Some of the best spaghetti and meatballs I've had. Have tried almost everything on the menu at this point and haven't been disappointed yet. It's my favorite place in the valley!

I can't believe it took me so long to finally try this place, everything was DELICIOUS! I told my husband let's be adventurous and try a new restaurant- then I remembered Pizza A Metro. We ordered wings, meat lovers pizza and chicken marsala. The wings were meaty, cooked just right and had the right amount of sauce. The pizza was excellent, only high quality meats and I can't stop raving about the chicken marsala. The pasta was not overcooked, the chicken seasoned perfectly and as well as the sauce. Additionally, the hospitality was top notch. Our waitress kept checking on us as well as the owner (I am assuming the lady was the owner). We will be returning customers.

If you are doubting this place please do yourself a favor and go! Order a sangria to start with. All food is extremely delicious!!!!! Customer service is amazing!! I love Margarita's food recommendation!!! 10/10
