I was introduced to Swamp Head for the first time a few years ago by my fiancé, as he is originally from the area. We live out of the state, but always make it a point to stop when we are in town.
The brewery is located a few blocks off of 34th. It may seem like you are going the wrong way when getting back to the building, but it is correct. There is a private parking lot right in front of the brewery. I have personally never had an issue getting a spot.
On this particular trip, we stopped on a Thursday in July. We first arrived around 2 PM, but did not realize they did not open until 3. We visited some local stores around the area and returned after 3 to order some drinks. Given that it was early afternoon, the crowd was light and service was very prompt and personal.
This location is truly so unique with the plethora of both indoor and outdoor seating, and the wonderful outdoor space. This time, we sat inside at the bar due to it being somewhat rainy. We have enjoyed time out on the deck before, and it is a wonderful spot to enjoy a drink.
The menu here is all drinks. Mostly beer, but there are some different cider and non-alcoholic options as well. There were none on this particular visit, but I have been here before when there are food trucks to purchase a meal from in the parking lot. Additionally, they sell merchandise and have special promotions for various events and happenings.
We wanted to try several of the selections on tap, so we opted for a sampler. After trying some samples from the bartender, we opted for the Lemon Days, Raspberry Creamsicle, Maple Baby, and Hoggetown. The sample pours were a good size, and two of us were able to share.
My personal favorite of the four was the Lemon Days - it was the perfect summer beer and the lemon flavor was wonderful. My fiancé enjoyed the Raspberry Creamsicle, which would go great with dessert. The other two were also tasty! All were very enjoyable.
We always buy some cans to take back home with us. This time, we got a new favorite, Lemon Days, along with Apex Sour and Blueberry Wanderer. They are helping to hold us over until our next trip down!
The pricing here is comparable to any type of craft brewery. With our purchase of the sampler, to-go beers, and other merchandise, we spent around $100 this particular trip.
The staff always are friendly and helpful. We were able to get several samples before we ordered, and enjoyed conversations with the guys working behind the bar that afternoon.
Always love visiting this great brewery. The beer is great, and there is always a wide variety of unique brews to try. It is such a scenic location, and very unique to Florida and the brand. Can't wait until our next trip down so we can visit Swamp Head again!
