Fatto a Mano Preston Circus

I'm writing this review purely on wheelchair access. I use a manual wheelchair which is 64 cm in width including wheels; the depth including footplates is around 90 cm. My review is based on Fatto a Mano Preston Circus, which is on the corner of Rose Hill Terrace. There is a ramp that you can go up to access the restaurant. It is however a little steep as it doesn't extend outwards gradually onto the pavement. But the restaurant have made an effort. There are a few tables and chairs outside that you might have to navigate slightly, but it's definitely doable. Once in the restaurant everything is flat, no steps. There is a wide door that leads to the wheelchair accessible toilet, which for my needs was sufficient, but as a disabled toilet sort of on the smaller side. Only thing that was slightly annoying, is that the bin for nappies was right next to the toilet itself, making it tricky to transfer. Rose Hill Terrace has two Blue Badge disabled parking bays, which is free, and I noticed a few disabled bays on London Road, so plenty of parking. The restaurant have made an effort with the space they have. The staff were very friendly, and the pizzas were really yummy by the way.

We met friends here for dinner and it was amazing! The service was great, with enthusiastic waiters and food and drinks coming out quickly. Atmosphere was lovely, very chilled, and there was no rush to get us out when we finished eating, meaning we could talk for a long-time and catch up. The beer on tap was good, from the local UnBarred Brewery, and we shared baked gnocchi for starter. It was delicious, a little sweet, a bit salty, and super cheesy. Between us we ordered the Margherita, ‘Nduja, and Diavola pizzas. They were all delicious, well-cooked, and flavourful in their own way. For dessert, we had the gelato - pistachio, stracciatella, and strawberry - and the affogato. It was all great! Absolutely wonderful experience, highly recommend, and there are plenty of other locations to visit too!

Tried their Carbonara special, while I do trust it delivered on its intended purpose, the cheese is far too strong and is not to my liking. I would consider returning to try a normal pizza. I imagine this place would be very uncomfortable to eat at if it were very busy.

Great pizza, served with a smile 😊. Our waitress was attentive and polite. I will go back again and again 😋

Thank you so much to João and team for looking after us this afternoon for our son Harley’s birthday. The whole booking process, organising of birthday cake, speediness of food and professionalism of service was really very good. It was a very busy vibe with kids everywhere yet none of this phased any of the staff, with even the pizza chefs joining in to sing happy birthday to the various kids celebrating. Very enjoyable, thank you so much!

First, the service was impeccable, something that has to be highlighting in a great restaurant that makes an evening special. Pair that with great food and you have 2 solid reasons why you should go here haha! The pineapple pizza special was what drew me in, supporting local food banks too. Never did I expect pineapple to work so well on pizza, as someone who was undecided on Hawaiian. Spicy, sweet, salty and crispy, it worked so well with the cheese and they really have cracked it. Drinks were great too, as well as the ceaser salad which was the perfect addition to the meal - always with anchovies of course. I almost forgot, but the gelato and crust dips were insane as well. Highly recommend the cherry and choccy gelato and smoked garlic dip. Trust me! The service remained impeccable all night, giving me a great time and a night to remember. Value for money is insane for Brighton too, being stuffed for roughly £15 if the pizza does it for you. Get down here now, it’s fab!

Loved it! My favourite place in Brighton for pizza and done in the proper Italian way, in a super-hot oven. Great dough and lovely toppings. All rounded out with excellent staff (who also took extra special care of my wife's allergies), especially Toma the waitress.

Service was friendly, and efficient given how busy it was. The pizzas however were very ordinary and very wet and sloppy, the tomato sauce was far too wet for pizza but would be ok as a base for a ragu of some type and the toppings were quite sparse (including the mozzarella) The garlic and rosemary fries were nothing special and obviously frozen french fries. And £6.50 for a half pint of draught lager a little pricey. £7.50 for a small ice cream dessert far too much.

Delicious pizza made in a wood-fired oven right before our eyes. The portions were generous for the price. Also tried their homemade lemonade. It was a little too sour for my taste, but seemed to pair well with the pizza.

I like a pizza cooked in a proper pizza oven, and the pizza oven here is a true monstrosity! Yes, as other Yelpers have mentioned, the menu isn't huge, but what they do, they do well in my opinion. The style is Napolitan - they promote their pizza as having a "soft and pillowy" base, as opposed to thin and crispy, and I would say this was a fairly accurate description. So far, I have tried the Margherita, the Diavola and the Rucola Prosciutto - the later being my favourite. If you can't manage it all, you can take the remaining slices home for breakfast the following day! The starters are also massive - I had the Caprese on my first visit and it was almost the size of a main. I'm yet to try a pudding, but to be fair, I don't think this is where they excel. Come here for pizza, and pizza alone. The staff can be a little hit and miss, but on the whole are friendly and helpful. It can get a little crowded in here so it can feel a little claustrophobic, but on the whole I like the atmosphere, and I like watching those pizzas going in and out of the oven. They are pretty child-friendly here too, with highchairs, a kids menu and colouring-in and chef's hats to keep the little one's entertained

In really gutted to have to give Fatto a Mano 2 stars. I'd been looking forward to coming here for a I've after hearing nothing but good reviews! So tonight I went with a couple of fellow yelpers to try it out. I'm on a bit of a health kick at the moment, so instead of having a pizza I checked the menu online beforehand and noticed they sell a pulled chicken salad. It sounded really appetising so I didn't feel I would be missing out if I didn't have a pizza! Sadly I was wrong! The salad came out, lettuce, rocket and a few cherry tomatoes... the main problem being that it was pulled chicken as stated on the menu, but cold, pre packaged Bernard Matthews style chicken chunks. I pointed this out to a member of staff who didn't seem to get what I was trying to explain...at this point I started to get a bit annoyed, but another member of staff who had been looking after us explained that it wasn't their usual chicken and that they'd had some problems with their suppliers. I said that it might have been worth mentioning that when I ordered as I probably would have ended up ordering something else. I did feel sorry for the guy as he was lovely and really apologetic, and he kindly took my salad off the bill (which I'm glad about as I wasn't prepared to pay £9.50 for it!) I'm just disappointed as I really really wanted to enjoy it - but I just didn't! General consensus from the guys that had pizza was that it wasn't anything amazing either... but I'll let you read their reviews !

Whatever. I am disappointed. People told me this is as good as VIP Pizza. It isn't. It doesn't come close. It's a whole 2 stars away. I am going to list the things that are bad first because they are most prominent in my brain after eating here this evening. - They couldn't give us a jug of water to share on our table. The dude said they didn't have enough jugs. Instead, they offered to "refill" us here and there. The water they gave us was not even cold and there was no ice. - It was stuffy, there was no air con. This made the no-ice situation even worse. - It felt cramped. 4 of us got shuffled away in some kind of raised balcony area which reminded me of an ex-pats unfinished conservatory. - The pizza was a tad salty and a bit greasy (I had half a Diavalo and half a ... something else with salami on) - The pizza menu was limited. I think there were only 7 tomato based pizzas, maybe 2 of them had meat on. The rest were basically herbs on cheese. Yawn. - I had some chips as a side which were supposedly seasoned with salt, garlic and rosemary. They were basically thin cut oven chips seasoned with rosemary. I don't think there was any garlic on them. Also, the more I think about it, the more it annoys me that they were served on a plate rather than in a bowl. Chips in a bowl please. Or something metallic. Never a plate. - They didn't give me a pizza cutter. I didn't request one, but still. - They had no garlic oil. Or chilli oil. Or just ANYTHING other than salt or pepper to season my pizza with. So why did it get a 3 star? Well, our waiter seemed like a nice guy. He smiled, knowingly. When my girlfriend complained about her salad, they took it off the bill (good). In short, the menu described a pulled chicken salad. She got some straight-from-the-packet precooked chicken on a bed of lousy lettuce. Just lazy, really (bad). Erm... the pizza was good. If I was rating the pizza alone, it would scrape a 3.5/5. The pizza is also fairly priced. Never stayed for dessert.

Came back here a few time since a last reviewed and I have to say the pizza is just that good, and so well priced. Staff can be hit and miss but for the most part reasonably friendly for such a busy small spot. And basically just the pizza, it's unreal. I'm already planning my next trip back.

When you first walk in to this venue you are overwhelmed with fresh, authentic italian smells spilling out of the huge white tiled traditional pizza oven. Let me tell you now... I wish the food tasted as good as it smelt. I was a little disappointed to be honest. I rarely go out to eat, I enjoy cooking my own food and hate spending money on food out! I'm not a complete bore, I do enjoy going out once and a while but I prefer to go to somewhere worth the money. If i'm honest, this place didn't cut it. The staff are very friendly. Very welcoming, polite and the service was good. The deco was slightly strange. It had a feeling which suggested that they hadn't finished. Plastered stained looking walls. It didn't make it feel homely or comfortable! The menu itself is okay, but they do not have a massive amount of choice. They offer 4 or 6 pizzas with a tomato base and others which they call white pizza. Predominately cheese. Bit weird if you ask me but nonetheless I'm sure I'd of tried it if some of the people on my table ordered it. Which brings me to my next disappointment. My friend ordered a pulled chicken salad. She was trying really hard to be healthy bless her and she was welcomed by a pretty rubbish salad with no sign of pulled chicken but what looked like bernard matthews pumped watered breasted chicken. She was distraught - quite rightly so and made her emotions very apparent to all of whom would listen, not that many had a choice! The staff acknowledge that it was a mistake , eventually, and the waiter kindly took it off of the bill. I shared a pizza with a friend. It was ok. I wasn't blown away by it. One thing that disappointed me actually was that they didn't have any Garlic Oil. I MEAN COME ON!!!!! ! ! ! ! Even Pizza Express has Garlic Oil. I'm sure as well if you went into Mc Donalds they'd probably have it too. Garlic Oil is a necessary part of eating a pizza for me. Sorry Fatto a Mono but sort it out. Thats like a Icecream shop selling Icecream without the cones or Flakes. All in all, I wouldn't really go here again, I prefer Pizza Express and I'll try out VIP too when I get a chance. Sorry but it is 2 stars for me.

QI really enjoyed pizza here, despite other reviews. I went with my sons before the cinema and just had a pizza and a drink which came in at less than £10 a head. The pizzas were big, thin, crispy and piping hot - literally straight from the wood fired oven. The chilled Aperol spritz balanced things out and we got a nice jug of water with fresh mint leaves. Yes the menu is limited, yes it's quite a small place and it was pretty hot, so can imagine in the height of summer it could be uncomfortably so. It is obviously popular with locals, it was busy even at 5pm, and there was a queue outside a couple of hours later. I'd go back again if I was in the London road area.

We decided to try Fatto A Mano out for a late lunch as it's on our way into town. Even at 2pm it was still busy but luckily there was some space at the bar! We shared the capricciosa pizza and rosemary salted fries which we both enjoyed. Watching the pizzas being made was also fun to observe. The pizza was tasty and fresh and we were glad to have shared as we left quite full. The service was also good, they gave us a jug of tap water which was appreciated. They don't do delivery but they allow take-aways. I think we're going to go here for our future take-away pizzas which are around £9 each.

Really really good experiences each time I've been here. First of all they do Aperol spritz which I completely fell in love with when I was in Italy so that was a real plus! And very fairly priced at £5. For starters - they do amazing olives, the big fat bright green juicy ones that are incredibly moreish and perfect while you're waiting for your pizza. I find it weird that people complain about limited menus... that just means their food is fresh! If you have a massive menu it likely means most of the ingredients aren't fresh. I always feel better when a menu is limited because it means that what they do, they do well, and I really think that's the case here. I love the Capricciosa and the Salsiccia e friarielli (beware, those chills are hot). The dough is incredible soft and pillowy just like they describe. These are NOT thin and crispy pizzas so don't expect that - go to Pizza 500 if you prefer thin! Atmosphere has always been great, this is a proper local place that does authentic food.

Fatto A Mano is always a joy - I've never left a crumb on my many visits and can never wait to return to try one of the weekly specials or an old favourite. Simplicity and quality ... amazing!

Really nice, great pizza and warm friendly staff. Free kids meal (with puzzles, colouring in stuff and a hat) too!

We ordered 12 pizzas for our community event in Brighton everyone loved the pizza. They said it was some of the best pizza they've had in town. It's really good value, good ingredients and a great team of people who make the pizzas. Rupert, the owner, is a really nice and welcoming guy. I couldn't recommend them more highly!

Definitely the best pizza I have had in Brighton! Worth going! Great place to go with friends and have some drinks/wine, especially in the bar. Nice staff from Italy.
