"Situated between two lakes at the bottom of the Jungfrau mountain in the Bernese Highlands of Switzerland , this venerable five-star hotel and spa, which dates back to 1865, offers scenery and comfort in equal measure. Subtly balancing tradition and modernity, the rooms are bright, spacious, and brimming with refined furnishings and fabrics. Plus, all come with picturesque views across the town of Interlaken or the Harder Kulm mountain. There are several higher-end suites to choose from; modernists might like the clean lines of the stylish Bel-Air suite, while hedonists will love the lavish Tower Suite, with its two terraces, kitchenette, bar, and dining room. The hotel’s two restaurants serve Mediterranean-inspired dishes from the south of France and Italy, and there are twohandsome bars and a gloriously expansive spa for further diversion."

Victoria-Jungfrau Grand Hotel & Spa (Interlaken, Canton of Bern) Hotel Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"For centuries Switzerland was the playground of Europe, and to this day it’s practically bursting with classic grand hotels — when it comes to old-fashioned luxury, these people know what they’re doing. In Interlaken, the grande dame is the Victoria-Jungfrau, a 19th-century hotel which, like its counterparts in Switzerland’s other resort towns, has played host to a list of luminaries a mile long." - Tablet Hotels

We had a wonderful stay at the Victoria-Jungfrau. The hotel is beautiful and has a calm, pleasant atmosphere. The staff were kind, helpful, and made us feel comfortable right away. The spa was a real highlight: calm, relaxing, and perfect after a day out. Our room was lovely, and everything was clean and well cared for. It’s the kind of place where you can truly slow down and enjoy yourself. We would happily come back.

Beautiful facilities. Kids club was incredible and amazing ladies working there. Room was very good but not without multiple defects. Some rooms need more thorough inspections. The one star restaurants was very good. The pizzeria was pretty bad. Hotel, spa and location however were excellent! Breakfast wasn't Palace-worthy but very good.

I stayed here for 2 nights prior to a Christmas Markets Rhine River cruise. It’s fabulous - a perfect place to stay after an overnight flight and to enjoy Interlaken. The suite was spacious and absolutely beautiful. The breakfast included omelets and eggs Benedict made to order. I enjoyed a back and neck message. The atmosphere and the staff were terrific.

The most beautiful Spa I’ve ever seen, especially the indoor pool! The massage was one of the best massages I’ve had! Rigzin Sangpo technics were incredible! His combination of a smooth relaxing massage and then using moving cups to move the the detoxed fluid and distressed energy out though my lymph’s. Like a clean sweep. It felt delightful and regenerative!||The food at the restaurants were exceptional! The wait-help tools such great care of us!||The entire Staff at the Hotel were Outstanding!|We were welcomed like Royalty!

Moritz Heck was so helpful in recommending a genuine Swiss experience for dinner. His recommendations were spot on and the food and atmosphere were delightful. Dining was in heated fishing shacks in front of our hotel with fur rug covers to keep us extra cozy. It was intimate without being pretentious. Service was impeccable. Thank you Moritz.

We stayed in room 324, which was a nice room with a beautiful view. We had booked the culinary package, which included a dinner, and (as only at the time of check out we found out) also a 150 chf spa credit. I want to give a shoutout to the food, and all the staff at the Brasserie, both for breakfast and dinner, which was professional, attentive, and the only good part of our stay. The problems started from our arrival: we were extremely unlucky and disappointed with the check in process. The Italian receptionist was utterly unprofessional, and immediately scolded us for parking in the "wrong" spot at the back entrance. Given it was our first time at the hotel, we followed the directions of our gps, which took us to the back entrance. A professional person, would have nonchalantly offered to park our car for us, without making such a fuss. She also did not properly explain to us what was in our package. Next, we got there at 12pm, and although we were aware that check in time was at 3pm; usually hotels (given that we are travelling with an older person, and a dog) are sensitive enough to immediately call housekeeping to have the room made as soon as they can, to get in a little earlier than 3pm. But even at 3pm, the room was not ready. We had to wait other 30 minutes, and only then were we able to get into our room. This is completely not the service we had expected from a hotel like this. They gifted us a small bottle of champagne to apologise for the inconvenience, and although it was a nice gesture, it was not what we would have wanted. We were coming from the Bellevue hotel in Bern, their sister property, and we always stay in these kinds of hotels. What we expect, not even for the price, but for the standards and sensitivity of 5 stars properties is not free apology gifts, but an exceptional service, which is absolutely not what we received at this property. The next day, we also had other issues with the cleaning. I had to call 3 times in the span of 3 hours for the room to be cleaned. The cleaning is done well, but the timing it takes is out of control. We only stayed at the hotel for 2 nights and, between the late check in, and the late housekeeping, we had to stay in the room the entire morning and until 3pm, when they finally came, waiting for housekeeping, because we couldn't leave the dog alone in the room, or else it wouldn't have been made. Even the concierge for the car was not welcoming. Nobody said good morning, or good night, or was even aware that we were guests there. The spa is nice, but too many kids at all times, and even after 4pm, when splash time was supposed to be over, the kids were still playing with their parents and splashing over. We are very disappointed with the hotel's philosophy and management. This is definitely not a place for us, and I am very surprises at all the good reviews because, honestly, if you have been to the Four seasons, the Ritz, or even the Bellevue in Bern at least once in your life, there is no way that you can like this place. I expect the matter to be escalated to the general director of the hotels, not just the manager of this one.

We loved our stay here during our time in Interlaken! The hotel was amazing, beautiful and thoroughly thought-out. There is so much amazing space to spend time around the hotel. The rooms were also perfect for a couple. The beds were so comfortable with the softest sheets. ||||The property is amazing, and the spa that is open to all guests was amazing. Great touches and very relaxing. An added bonus was they have a tennis court you can rent by the hour and play around a litte. ||||We loved the breakfast that was provided, and we also enjoyed the onsite Italian restaurant. ||||We would 100% stay here again when we come back to Interlaken.

We had a very pleasant stay at the Victoria-Jungfrau, where from the moment we arrived we were welcomed by exceptionally courteous and professional staff. Everyone — from the reception team to the restaurant and housekeeping staff — showed remarkable competence and genuine attention to guests, creating a warm and elegant atmosphere throughout our stay. On the culinary side, we dined at two of the hotel’s restaurants: the pizzeria, which was truly excellent in terms of both food quality and preparation, and the Brasserie, which was good, though without any particular highlights. In both venues, the service staff deserve special mention for their kindness, professionalism, and attention to detail. The facilities are beautiful and reflect the timeless charm of a classic Swiss grand hotel. While one can sense that a few years have passed since its last full renovation, the property still retains a distinguished and refined appeal. Overall, this is a very high-quality establishment, offering comfort, service, and dining at consistently excellent levels. Personally, I would not describe the experience as having a strong “wow” factor, but it remains a truly enjoyable and memorable stay, well deserving of its reputation. The location is simply outstanding — right in the heart of Interlaken and ideal for exploring the many scenic excursions in the area, from the Jungfraujoch to the lakes of Thun and Brienz.

Yelp
Superb experience across the board. Staff uniformly friendly and professional. Spa and pool are top tier with lots of warm heated lanes to swim laps, four indoor and outdoor jacuzzis. The back of the hotel has amazing wooded Mountain Views, the front including the dining room faces the Jungfrau and landing site for paragliders in the park. Rooms modern but elegant and classy. Breakfast buffet is huge; afternoon tea extensive. Played billiards and swam every day. Centrally located but quiet rooms. Pricey but worth it for a world class experience!

Yelp
Excellent view and delicious dinner. Had dinner with my friends and all of us were super happy with the food and the extremely friendly staff. I started with a cup of cappuccino, followed by regional chicken 'coq au vin blanc" and ended on a sweet note of chocolate mousse!! My friends had the trout entree and they too loved it. Everything was just yummy and perfectly portioned. Above all, the view and ambiance were just spectacular, the snow-capped mountains with beautiful lush green landscape!! A perfect spot to end your day!!

Yelp
A classic and magical stay at the hotel in May 2024. The hotel must have been recently remodeled, but the feel and look made us feel like we stepped back in time to a more magical period. The entire staff including reception, house keeping, concierge, valet, restaurant servers, and spa workers were extremely friendly, helpful, and attentive to us. The room was spacious and immaculate. The hotel restaurant's breakfast was an experience in and of itself with an entire room dedicated to delicious foods. The view from our room and restaurant was breathtaking. And the pool! Pictures don't do it justice as the indoor heated pool was huge (great for swimming laps) and the outside heated hot tub (large enough for 8 - 10 comfortably) was so fun and relaxing with an up close view of the Alps. As wonderful as the hotel ambience was, it was truly the caring staff (special thank you to Laura and Francesca) that made our stay amazing.

Yelp
The BEST hotel in Interlaken. We had a Jr. Suite with a balcony and view of the Jungfrau mountains. SPECTACULAR. We saw hang gliders landing in front of us throughout the day. The staff was attentive , friendly and courteous. We arrived early and jet lagged. I fell asleep accidentally in the lounge area to be awakened by two hotel staff who were very concerned for me.... I probably looked like the area's first bag lady. They checked on my room and it was ready. We ate dinner in the hotel dining room and it was wonderful. Daily breakfast included where we had the BEST coffee ever! Would come back to Interlaken and would stay again in the very same room!

Yelp
From start to finish, the staff at the Victoria Jungfrau Grand Hotel were spectacular. The hotel looks spectacular, and it is very luxurious. Everything you can ask for is available: great dining options, indoor pools, spas, weight lifting gym, cardio machines, and so much more. The rooms are spacious (we had a junior suite), and it had a living area, his and her closets, hot tub, shower, and his and her sinks. Very comfortable, and they brought in fresh fruit, water, and chocolate each day - a nice touch. What was more impressive was the staff. They were very friendly, and even more helpful. The concierge went into great detail about all the excursions we could do, then took care of all the booking details on his own. First, we had a private spa sessions setup which was spectacular. It starts with a simple lunch, which was delicious. Then, we had 2 hours in a private spa that was equipped with a sauna room, a steam room, and a hot bath. The room was decorated with rose petals, and had an assortment of fruits and teas to enjoy. What then followed was a 2 hour massage. It was one of the most relaxing experiences I have ever had. so relaxing that I feel asleep during the massage! After that experience, we had setup a couple of days on the slopes. The concierge setup up with snowboarding on day 1, and then we did sledding on day 2. Great experience and I would recommend all beginners do sledding as it is the funnest and easiest to learn. Snowboarding is tough! Anyhow, the place we rented the snowboarding equipment made a billing error that was discovered on a Sunday, and I couldn't fix it as they were closed. The hotel took it upon themselves to fix this issue with me after I had already left. It took them a week to resolve it, but they did it for me - which is something that I greatly appreciate. I almost forgot to mention the daily breakfast buffet. I normally don't care for buffets, but this breakfast buffet was great. A large of assortment of bread, croissants, and other pastries with a wide variety of fresh jams, nutella, and honey on the comb. Fresh fruit juices and champagne for some great mimosas. Overall, it was the best hotel experience I have had. When I go back to Switzerland, I will be staying there :)

Yelp
May 2016. Easily the best hotel experience of our lives, and we've stayed in some truly amazing places around the world. From beginning to end, top flight service worthy of the five stars it has. We enjoyed a spacious junior suite stocked with fruit, chocolates and fresh roses every day. The room was brightly decorated with rich fabric walls and thick beautiful curtains with stunning views of the surrounding Alps. The enormous bathroom had heated floors, his/hers sinks and a luxurious jacuzzi tub to sooth our aching muscles at day's end. It was from our hotel room window that we first spied the hang gliders... One mention of it and our ever attentive Concierge, Jose', made the arrangements and off we went, soaring above Interlaken on a spectacularly clear day; landing right across the street in the park. Easily one of the top ten adventure experiences of our lives. Jose' studied us and anticipated our needs and interests. We rode scooters (with good breaks!) down First --above Grindelwald, climbed waterfalls near Lauderbraun, and took the trams to the top of Shilthorn, all at the suggestion of our amazing Concierge. When he heard that we had purchased a Go Pro video of our hang gliding, Jose' kindly offered to have the Business Center copy and email us the pictures and videos from the thumb drive so we could enjoy them without waiting until we returned home. Our days began with the included "breakfast"; a buffet feast more extensive than most I've seen in America--even honeycombs! We gorged ourselves on international delicacies and didn't need to eat again until dinner. The hotel is spacious, truly grand, and no detail is too small for their creative attention; even the topiaries with bright yellow ribbons that greet you at the entrance. We were really sad to leave but did so in style as we were driven to the train in one of their beautiful Jaguars. From start to finish, an unforgettable experience, worth the price, and then some.

Yelp
Nice hotel. A little outdated. Kinda smoky. The Spa makes this hotel. The service wasn't up

Yelp
We stayed 4 nights here. The room was fine, but it overlooks the very busy street. While the view is nice, I would have preferred something more quiet. They have a piano player in the courtyard which is pretty cool. We got room service one night which was fine. Otherwise, we did not eat at the restaurants so I cannot comment on them. We did go to the spa. I got a facial and a massage-both were average. My hub got a massage from a male masseur who he said was very good. There were some VERY noisy guests who were up all night one night. The hotel staff intervened as someone else must have complained. It helped but didn't fix the problem completely. Overall, I would spend the money on a nice hotel in Lauderbrunnen or Grindelwald.

Yelp
This place is off the charts nice. The service is not five star it is ten stars. The rooms are beautiful with amazing views of Interlaken and the majestic swiss alps. The location puts it into easy walking distance of all areas in the city. There are no words to describe how nice this place is. It's worth everything you pay. Oh and the pool is fantastic.
