An East Side original with a friendly rooftop deck above the brewery’s flagship taproom. Now under local ownership with planned refreshes, it remains a neighborhood-friendly place for fresh beer and casual rooftop sessions.

How to Experience Milwaukee Like a Local in 2025

"I find the Eastside location worth a visit for tours, while the downtown spot (right across from Fiserv Forum) is a convenient place for a beer before a game." - Matthew Kepnes

We stopped in 30min before tip off. We had delicious hot food within I’m not kidding 10min of sitting down. Great curry fries, amazing chicken nachos, solid boneless wings. If it’s like this every time I would come before every game. Amazing experience!!

Great local beer, the tacos here are 10x better than the other Explorium locations!!! Looking forward to trying more from their menu as time goes on.

Really enjoyed the boneless wings! They were more like smaller chicken tenders, but VERY crispy and saucy. Also got the bacon burger. It was good, but it would’ve been better with the double patty. Ended with the birria tacos! They were super crispy and flavorful, but a different style than what I’ve enjoyed at other places. Margarita was solid, made from scratch. For beer, enjoyed the Firefly Hazy IPA - it was smooth, almost like a milkshake IPA, and fruity.

Open air experience ( september) over the fiserv forum. Nice selection of beers, quite germen style leaning. The Octoberfest is a 6-7, pleasant enough. The music is contemporary style, but I recognized none of it. Light food (type) offerings, sandwiches and flatbreads Solid decent, if not remarkable offering.

We arrive about 9 for the 10PM Fireworks show. Catfish John and Lauren were great host. We both had the Jack Daniels flight and a few additional drinks. Wonderful selection of alchol and the pizza was good.

To be expected with a restaurant in a high traffic area next to a sports arena. Plan ahead and get there early on game days! The host was great, very friendly and informative. The atmosphere is fun and inviting and the space inside is very large with plenty of seating. The food was okay, didn’t seem very fresh and the chicken on my salad was clearly a frozen rubbery chicken breast. The service was not great; everything is order from the table through an app/online which is a neat feature for some but can make it confusing and anytime we had questions the servers practically ignored us. We ended up waiting an hour for two drinks and tried asking a server only to get told it was coming then when we went to the bar, they did in fact forget about our drink order.

Fried chicken sandwich. Actually painful to eat due to how overcooked and dry it was. The bread was nice. 0.5/10 Pico de gallo 6.0/10 Curry fries 8.4/10 Chilli was very watery and had no flavor whatsoever. It lacks seasoning and spice and is just and overall a poor attempt at chilli. 1.0/10 The burger however is very good and the candied Bacon is so mouth watering. The only thing I would change is the shredded lettuce to the leaf of lettuce. 7.0/10 Pulled pork sandwich 8.0/10 (KM) Double cheeseburger 6.2/10 Mac & cheese 6.0/10 no loud flavors. Kinda bland. Burrito 6.5/10

Sours and pretzel were delicious! Bartenders were quite attentive and service was quick. There was a good amount of patrons there, but I still felt attended to. Very excited to see the decor updates they have planned become a reality. :)

Yelp
I enjoyed this place thoroughly! We arrived on a Sunday afternoon and people were present but the space wasn't busy. We were greeted, taken to a table, told about specials and recommendations. They seemed to work well as a team and someone else came to take our order and recommended the cheese curds, which pro tip- they make fresh on NON game days. And boy was that a treat!! Fresh, melt in your mouth cheese curds that wasn't too hot and had a great batter. Not gonna lie- these have stuck out in my mind since coming and I would go back just to have them again. Switching to alcohol- It was the holidays, so we got our beer and got to go outside to participate in a German tradition of putting a hot iron into the beer to caramelize the flavors. Holy cow was it good!! I do like sweeter beers so I even ventured away from the stout and marzen rec and did it with a sour! They encouraged it, laughed and enjoyed with us. Overall, I really enjoyed this place. My only note is that it is pricey. Ended up being $15 for the cheese curds and we spent $50 total with tip for the beers on top of it. I didn't even get to venture into what they had for spirits and hit on the name but overall, it was a good experience and what you can expect from the deer district.

Yelp
Terrible service. No one greeted us, and we made reservations. Had no clue where to sit. The ambiance was much too bright, and the music was so loud, we really couldn't talk to each other. All the food was subpar. It came out quickly enough, but the options were limited. The beer was not good.
