My friends had been looking forward to taking me to Torc, raving about how great it is and how much they love the food, drinks, and atmosphere. I can say with complete certainty, that they were absolutely right. The restaurant is gorgeous, and there is no bad table in the whole restaurant. We got seated at a great table on the second floor overlooking the lower level, which was nice.
Started with the jamon and deviled eggs, both were good but I would pick something else next time since they were both nothing special. I got the hanger steak for my entree, which was absolutely incredible and cooked perfectly. The fries were sooo good, probably the best I've ever had, and love that they were served with Kewpie, which is what I do at home. The tomato syrup was amazing--I'm not a ketchup person, but would have this version at any time. For dessert, I had the coffee ice cream with cookie crumbles, and wow! Amazing again.
The star of the whole night, however, was the J.B. Plasma Martini. Hands down the best martini I've had in my life. I loved how well it all worked together and the dots of tomato was fun. I had three of them, and converted my friend from what he was drinking, since it was such a stellar cocktail. I will dream of that cocktail for a long time.
