Little Toot Dolphin Adventure - #1 Dolphin Tour in the USA!

The tour starts in the bay in Clearwater right across from the public parking at Pier 60. The boat is clean with plenty of seating. When departing the bay, we didn’t get any narration to know what we were looking at or what was around us that was disappointing. We did see a few dolphins in the Causeway that was pretty cool. The boat navigates in front of Clearwater Beach and Pier 60. Our tour had some amazing dolphins, jumping the wakes! It truly was a sight to see! I still cannot believe we witnessed this! Sunset was also amazing. Wish there was a time to pause to allow us to take photos and just enjoy the moment. The real turn off for us was when the captain expressed disappointment (shaking his head and vocalizing moans) about the amount of tips being left by others as we were disembarking. Quite unfortunate because we had planned to tip more, but when he stood shaking his head at the dollars people were putting in his pot it left a bad impression. Quite unfortunate considering what we saw with the dolphins. Due to the lack of narration and the behavior of the captain I cannot rate this a 5. Wish I could have, because the dolphins playing in the wakes was jaw dropping.

This was the highlight of our quick trip to Clearwater. Little Toot was so much fun and all the other boats swarmed us after we got the dolphins jumping in our wake. It was really cool to watch the dolphins jump and have fun. My 4 year old son loved it and was laughing hysterically. The captain and helper were knowledgeable and friendly. Highly recommend!

Little Toot adventure was wonderful! The Captain and Adriana were fantastic! Adriana is very knowledgeable of some of the history in the area. And the Captain was kind enough to venture into the Gulf even though it was a little bit angry that day, so we can see more dolphins. We were able to see babies in the pod that they have for some of the dolphins in the area. But since the Gulf was a little choppy, it was a little bit adventuresome in a good way as well, because he called them rollers and I just think it's fun 😏😀! The Little Toot II is so low and the way the seating is you get to see directly everything, you're not having to turn and look out, you get to look out directly which is not how your boats are always set up! The weather was fantastic, much wind that day. 😊 It was just beautiful, it was relaxing. Play some other turbos out there as well as the Clearwater Marina which are usually out there trying to track and help dolphins. Which is really good and they were trying to find a baby dolphin with fishing line around its dorsal fin. The poor dolphin usually jumps high to try to get rid of the netting on it's fun. They serve drinks, and they have a bathroom on board, for use as needed.

Came here for some dolphins and Little Toot did not disappoint. We were able to get a solid half hour of watching several dolphins constantly play in the wake of the boat. Besides the dolphins, the rest of the boat trip was fun too. The crew pointed out several prominent buildings along the coast, and we also got to experience some of the rougher waters in the Gulf.

The crew was so informative about the dolphins, and even tho we only found a couple they kept going around for longer than expected to try and find us some more! I have been on several different dolphin cruises and I would chose this one every time! Plus for those of you who would like to have an adult beverage they offer a small bar. Plus the price of the cruise doesn’t break the bank!

Great experience, friendly people… we saw dolphins 10 feet off the port side! FYI… if you want to enjoy an alcoholic beverage on the water reserve a seat on the Little Toot 2.

I'm an over planner so I deduced this would be the best boat due to the wake the stir up. I booked with them before arriving in Clearwater. The captains all clearly talk to each other and share dolphin sightings because they tend to congregate. The night before my trip with Little Toot I went on a sunset cruise with another company and saw dolphins riding their wake. I was excited to be at the back of their boat and see it for myself. You can see the Little Toot boat in one video We went out at 11. I know earlier is better but it was New Year's Day and I knew I'd want to sleep in. We saw a few dolphins here and there eating. I thought we'd go in without the exciting part. But, the captain took a survey to see if anyone was opposed to staying out a bit longer. Of course, no one objected. He found a couple of playful dolphins for us and I got to see them ride the wake. I'd seen this in a whale watching tour in Monterey Bay (California) but it was nice to see Atlantic bottlenose playing. This boat is close to the water where I've always been on larger boats in California. It's nice being to close. Even from my kayak, dolphins have been further away. I think the only way to get closer would be with captive dolphins. I did learn that there are two boats with the company. Not sure if one is better.

The question you want to know is "Will I see Dolphins?" YESSSSSS!!! you will!!! See all the footage I taken and see for your self!! I'm Super blown away!!! This was just a spur of the moment dolphin boat ride after lunch, and what a GREAT EXPERIENCE!!! Located at the Clearwater Marina, if you purchased online you just need to check in to get on the boat. This boat is nice well kept, and gives off a modern day Tug Boat feel, which has literally a "Toot" for the horn. They serve soft drinks, and spirits for the experience, but it is CASH ONLY for that, along with photos that are taken before you board the vessel(if you choose to purchase afterwards) All-In-All I'm going to leave it up to my videos to do the rest of explaining! We will DEFINITELY come back!! Ps...Sit at the bow of the boat to get the best views for the dolphins!

Overpriced and overcrowded little boat that chugs along looking for dolphins. It's a crapshoot at best and a tourist trap at its finest. Two crew people aboard, one of whose biggest chores is selling drinks to people who believe they're on an exploratory cruise. They talk a little about the stuff they pass by on the way out to the Gulf. So once our dear captain found some dolphins, we went through the pod and he opened up the throttle. That served to make the dolphins start playing in the boat's wake and frolicking about, jumping, etc. Of course this was the whole premise of the cruise. The Premise Portion lasted maybe 12-15 minutes of the two hour ride. I cannot figure why this operation rates an average of four and a half stars. Small potty that kinda smells; lousy selection of sorta cold beers; no real snacks or anything to that effect. Even on a calm day it's a bit of a rough ride. Do yourself a favor and stay on land, or if you MUST ride around Clearwater inlet and the Gulf...rent a jet ski. Meh!

Absolutely fantastic experience with Little Toot! Would highly recommend! We "gave a ride" to two dolphins out to a sand bar from the Bay Area where the dolphins played in the tug boat's wake. Then we went out to the Gulf and saw another dolphin with her calf near Pier 60. Wonderful views of Clearwater along the way on the gorgeous day!

Highly recommend booking this tour if you want to see dolphins on you visit to Clearwater beach. We booked the earliest time slot (10am) on the Original Little Toot, and arrived 15 minutes early. Check-in was easy at the booth, and we were seated on the boat in no time. We saw plenty of dolphins on the trip, with most of them coming out to play in the last half of the hour long ride. 100% worth it, and be sure to have cash on hand if you would like to tip your guides!

We saw dolphins, not many but there were storms all around us. The ride was comfortable and I felt safe. I wish I could have seen more. We saw maybe 4. I believe the weather had to have been factor.

Absolutely electric energy on the boat! Sunset overlooking multiple pods of dolphins. The dolphins TRULY recognize this boat and the respect the crew have for them. Smiles the whole time. Remember to bring cash because they 100% deserve a tip, especially for how inexpensive the tickets are.

Went on this gem the last night of our vacation. Did not expect much other than a cool little sunset experience. We did get that but we were also give an up close dolphin experience. Captain Ed was awesome!

Adorable cruise! Sooooo many dolphins! The captain was amazing and very strategic so we would maximize the experience. They do have a potty too. The only reason I docked a star is because they only excepted cash. They did warn us when we got there but every cruise we have been on recently have excepted credit card and they really really need to get with the times. Other than that we had a blast!

Super disappointed in my last experience. I probably have higher expectations as a repeat customer but on previous tours the captain has always pointed out hulk hogans former house (seems especially relevant now) and random facts about houses or buildings along the coast. I know they can't control the dolphins but do something to make it interesting.

WOW!!! We saw So Many Dolphins that interacted with us. The captains were Amazing! Will never see another dolphin in an enclosure after seeing them in their environment!

When the captain tells you the rules, do not ask him after he gets done speaking. If you can use a life vest. he will kick you off. I do not recommend. he got upset because when he started talking, he said I'm captain Richie, and my friend said hey my name is Richie too. That's what upset him from the beginning. I do not recommend this business unless you plan on being quiet

We took the Little Toot Dolphin Adventure tour on our first day in Clearwater beach. The first thing to note is that they launch from pretty far down the marina. If you are using navigation, it will tell you the launch area is towards the front but that whole area is under construction. Walk past the buildings to find them further down at the docks. The boat can get pretty crowded, and expect to get splashed on... many times. I have to say the vast majority of the tour was fruitless without seeing any dolphins and getting splashed on while the boat speeds up and makes its turns. We did eventually did run into a couple of pods, but I don't know how I feel about disturbing them while they are mating. We did see a few following our boat at points which was interesting. Our trip was likely the last one for the day, as we did enjoy a nice sunset before we made our way back. I don't know if I can say we enjoyed this tour, but they did guarantee that we will see dolphins and they kept their word.

We took this tour at 5pm on a Saturday and it was fantastic. I love that with the size of the boat there is not a "bad" seat. We saw a pod of bottle nose in the bay then got out to open water and found a few more. It was an absolute blast and would highly recommend.

We saw dolphins!!!! The entire ride on the Little Toot II was fantastic. The staff was friendly and accommodating and of course we were able to see dolphins! WELL WORTH THE MONEY!

The dolphins were jumping in the wake of the boat. I've been going to little toot since i was like 8. Huge fan. A must see if you are in clearwater. the crew is so nice and they even take pictures of you and your group.

I watched this "dolphin cruise" run over a pack of dolphins from another ship. Although I did not go on the tour, that alone means a one star.

We took the sunset dolphin cruise and it was fabulous! The captain and first mate were top notch! We saw jumping dolphins, mating dolphins and baby dolphins not to mention a beautiful sunset!! The first mate offered fun facts about the dolphins as we cruised. Highly recommend!

I'm so glad I trusted the Yelp reviews! My husband, son and I went on the Little Toot II with an open mind. We were so pleasantly surprised!The captain on board was full of excitement and knowledge, as was his deck crew. The music was entertaining, and the dolphins were amazing! On our boat ride, we saw at least six different groups of dolphins. It was amazing to see them flipping and jumping in the boat's wake. Lastly, this boat ride was so extremely smooth. I tend to get nauseous on bumpy or uneasy boat rides, but this one did not bother me at all. 10 out of 10 recommend.

We had a great time finding and hanging out with the dolphins. The captain and staff were so fun and nice. Good for kids and older adults.

I could do this everyday and not get tired of it! If you love dolphins trust and believe you NEED to experience this. We were riding for about 10 minutes til we got far out off the shore and then it happened ... the dolphins just started jumping out of the water and riding with us! I've never seen anything like it, it was honestly one of the happiest moments of my life being able to experience this. Thank you for such a great birthday experience!

I would suggest to avoid this cruise. Owner / operator extremely rude and I would say entitled. Customers are there to pay him not to have a good time. A lot of other good alternatives available in Clearwater Beach so rather spend your money somewhere else.

Fun, fun, fun on this boat! Simple accommodations keep the focus on the beautiful scenery and the dolphins. Cash required but nothing is much money. The crew are amazing people! You can tell they love nature and the wildlife by the way they express themselves and the events surrounding the boat. Bring your motion sickness medicine if you are prone to that. There are no assigned seats, so you can move around as you like. Check it out!

The LIttle Toot is ABSOLUTELY DELIGHTFUL!!!! I adore this trip. I live locally and recommend this trip to everyone. I've gone a few times now and have had a great experience each time. The Little Toot is a tug boat, which if i recall correctly is part of the reason they're so successful in being able to interact with the dolphins. This type of boat sits lower in the water and the dolphins not only like the sound of their engine but you also get a closer view since you're sitting lower in the water. It's wild how close the dolphins actually come when they're wake-surfing. You could almost reach out and touch them (but don't - it's illegal). There's basically no bad view, so sit anywhere. Once you're going, you can get up and walk around. There may be dolphins in multiple different areas of the boat, so take advantage and move about! In addition to the Captain, there's usually one other person working on-board. This person is the person who interacts with you via the P.A. System, also services as bartender, and helps spot dolphins. As mentioned, there is a little 'bar' where you can buy water, pop, beer, etc. They also bring a big cooler full of (free) drinking water and paper cups which is nice (and more environmentally friendly than water bottles). And YES, there is a bathroom on the boat! The Captain and his partner are both GREAT about trying to spot the dolphins and get you as close as possible. It seems like they do whatever they can to spot them, get close to them, and then try to race and see if it'll be the dolphins to engage in wake-jumping. Overall it's really a fun tour - for the whole family, no matter the age!

Our family went on the sunset cruise last night & it was truly a highlight of our vacation! As soon as we spotted dolphins the captain positioned the boat to get us up close. We picked up speed and the dolphins literally jumped in the wake behind the boat! We saw so many dolphins around the boat! The sunset was amazing! Will definitely recommend this cruise !!!

Great experience for us. We thought, for the price, we saw a lot. Crew was very friendly and helpful. This was one of the few boats in the area capable of creating a wake that the dolphins would jump to. We went on the sunset cruise - which I highly recommend. Definitely heed the 1 hour arrival time suggestion. It took us 30 minutes to find a parking spot and 15 minutes to walk to the dock. I can imagine this being worse on a very busy day.

Wonderful, fun trip where we got to see a number of dolphins up close playing near the boat! We even got to see a Mom and her calf playing in the wake from the boat. Got some great pictures! We will remember this experience for the rest of our lives! The captain and crew were great as well. Not only learned quite a bit about dolphins, they also did a good job pointing out many of the buildings on shore. Hopefully we will be able to come back with our grand daughters.

The adventure I had hoped for when I bookmarked this tour years ago. The dock is just steps away from the ever-popular Clearwater Beach, in between the larger party boats by the Marina. Apparently Little Toot is out of commission and Little Toot II is the latest vessel. The tours booked up pretty quickly for a weekday, and the first time slot available was at 5pm. There was plenty of room for everyone to wait at the dock. Before boarding, a staff member photographed every group, which was a nice way to prevent folks from bombarding the Toot. Our tour had about thirty passengers, so everyone had a good view. Before departing the crew explained the safety rules and itinerary. The picturesque scenery along the shoreline was captivating while awaiting the first dolphin. I enjoyed admiring mansions, yachts, and the cityscape while Little Toot II sailed across gulf waters. Dolphins appeared within the first 30 minutes. Once they were spotted the captain revved up the engine to create a wake for them to surf behind the tugboat. We watched a few dolphins at a time surf super close to the boat, including a baby dolphin for a CUTENESS OVERLOAD. Our total trip time was about an hour, which felt short but they only quote 90 minutes in case it takes that long to find dolphins. The crew even shares fun historic facts along the way. Totally worth $20 per person. I would ride Little Toot II again!

I'm not a fan of touristy Clearwater Beach, but this was a cool experience. Once we hit the Gulf of Mexico, the Captain increased the speed and the dolphins followed, jumping in the wake (some solo, some in groups, some upside down). The crew was excellent, and there was plenty of space. I chose this boat because reviews stated that the dolphins favored this boat due to the bigger wake. This was confirmed. If you want to see dolphins jumping only a few feet away from you, go here. Music, beer, soda, water (only music is free).

Buy tickets now! Absolutely incredible. Only thing better was a whale watch we did in Cape Cod. The dolphins are not coerced, they are naturally drawn to the wake caused by the boat, and they cannot help themselves but play in it! We saw lots of dolphins, and I captured some awesome photos and videos. I would 100% do this tour everyday if I could. Nothing beats time spent enjoying nature, especially if your animal friends are involved. The Little Toot crew was great, and made the boat ride fun and informative.

Tomamos un Tour el día de hoy, tuvimos que encontrar el barco en la marina pero al final cuando lo encontramos y después de subirnos fuimos hacia el golfo de México para poder encontrar . Después de estar media hora en el golfo buscando delfines, no pudimos encontrar ningún , regresamos hacia la área de la Marina para poder escanear el area por más delfines y en esa área pudimos ver muchos defines , pudimos observar una familia de delfines con un delfín bebe. A mi hijo de casi cinco años de edad le encantó ver los delfines brincando al lado del barco. Fue algo muy bonito y que vamos a recordar por mucho tiempo. Definitivamente recomendamos este barco de Little Toot

This was the best experience I have ever had. We saw tons of dolphins and one set was mating and then they went super fast twice with the boat and was able to get dolphins jumping with the wave both times and it was soooo cool to experience seeing that. Out of all the dolphin tours I've gone on in Florida this one was the BEST.. Thanks for an amazing time..

We had the most incredible time!!! The staff and captain were so informative, enthusiastic and fun! We would recommend this tour to anyone coming to Clearwater! The dolphins were the stars of the show and definitely showed off for us! Wonderful and memorable experience!

We did the sunset dolphin cruise on Little Toot II and it was a great experience. The crew was friendly and informative. The boat was very nice and we saw a lot of dolphins.

Wow! What a tour tbh this is the best tour I've ever been on. My family and I got to see many dolphin encounters, exotic birds, and the beautiful Clearwater beach and sittings. This tour is without a question one to go on. For only $25 a person you can't go wrong with that.

So much fun! The captain found the Dolphins that we're playing behind us in our wake. Sunset tour was amazing! Took my 91 year old parents that had a great time. Very informative to.
