Wangsimni Nurungji Whole Chicken

Wood fire roasted rotisserie chicken…was A RELIGIOUS EXPERIENCE!! The flavors are kept simple, the green onion and Corn cheese combination, not to mention the fabulous crispy rice at the bottom with the slightest garlic flavor. I encourage everyone to at least try once!!

We stopped in around 5pm on a Friday and the place was basically empty, to our surprise. We were promptly seated and got our table set up. The young man (maybe the owner?) who answered our questions about the menu was extremely kind and helpful—something you rarely experience when dining out in SK these days. After sampling the sauce, we ordered the nurungji fire cheesy chicken which was just out of this world! Juicy, falling off the bones, and soooo flavorful. The server described the sauce as being slightly hotter than Shin Ramyon and I thought that was spot on. The nurungji was a caramelized perfection and stayed hot throughout. It was easily one of the best meals we’ve had. Highly recommended and we can’t wait to visit again.

Authentic woodfire chicken in Dongdaemun precinct served on a hot place with crunchy rice on bottom. Chicken can get bit dry if left on hot plate for too long. Highly recommend to try if you are after traditional woodfire chicken! Very reasonable price for what you get! Short cab drive to DPP Dongdaemun Design Plaza and the sporting stores in the area.

Travelled all the way after seeing Doobys short for their chicken. We got half and half green onion with corn cheese and original with chilli. The toppings and sauces were really great but the actual chicken itself was underwhelming and a bit bland unfortunately. You really have to eat it with the toppings, but the crispy rice underneath was divine. The Service was also really friendly and helpful

One of the best chickens I’ve ever had in my life! So delicious. Crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. We got the spring onion chicken. The atmosphere was lively and our server spoke English, which made it easier.

Definitely something to try while in Korea! The 누릉지 was so delicious and brought comfort in your mouth, accompanied by the chicken. Delectable! We had the cheese and spring onion (whole) and half-half original and sweet chilli. The chickens were well seasoned and very flavourful!

Really nice and tasty restaurant with very kind staff. I totally recommend eating their traditional chicken with rice! The staff also offered us some free complementary food! I will definitely come back.
