Very disappointed 😞 I used to love this place but they messed my order up bad twice! 1st I ordered pepper beef over fried rice and it was a literal soup of watery sauce with no flavor and no rice or noodles at all. So I called and complained he said come back and we'll get your fried rice. So I drove back and should have checked before leaving but the bag was tied tight, when I got back home the second time I was given a pile of white rice with a little soy sauce on it for color... that is not fried rice!! so upset 😡 see pics if google will let me upload them.

Flower City Restaurant is a family favorite for more than twenty years. I love being able to order Their Dinner#2 from the website and they have it ready to pick up soon after I arrive. So easy to click through even from Google maps and place the order. The food is consistently good and you get a lot of food for the cost. Fun trivia, when you get there, look over the doorway to the kitchen. The drawing of the dragon was done by my father and given to the owner. So look up at the picture of his dragon as they prepare your order and maybe you come away with some good fortune to go with the good food.

Love the fast service and full containers! Along with the mouthwatering food and great prices! 😋 Definitely give them a try!

I Really Really wanted to give this place a great rating for my 1st experience with them but, they messed up my favorite Chinese dish. Singapore noodles had absolutely no flavor or seasoning whatsoever. Singapore noodles are usually so packed with curry flavors and spices that I eat them plain with no soy sauce or liquid amino. Unfortunately, not these noodles. I could have actually added table salt they were so plain. My guy got beef & broccoli 🥦 and his complaint that it was way more broccoli than beef. I asked him how was his food because it was my idea & my treat and we drove across town specifically to try their food. His response "It's ok". Not what I like to hear after spending $51 bucks on takeout food for the weekend. Potstickers were good but, there was no potsticker sauce for me. Only Chinese Musrd that I don't care for at all and some chili oil based sauce that didn't work. My Man had to pull out his sweet & sour sauce & soy sauce from the pantry for me to try & enjoy this meal. I also ordered Chinese Chicken Salad which was missing a few ingredients like toasted sesame and peanuts that add to the flavor of the dish. This salad was a huge bed of iceberg lettuce topped with sliced battered chicken cut into slices with the sweet clear dressing that you pour on yourself. Sorry Flower, not My Fave... We are used to more elevated flavors when we order Chinese so you can eat it without saucing it up and it tastes great without being doctored up.

Great food and fast service! I wanted to give it 4 stars because I thought it was a little expensive but that was really my own fault. If you are looking for a dinner for 1 look at the menu in the restaurant, I don't think their take out shows the cheaper options. That being said I have to give this 5 stars because although what I bought was $12 it was definitely enough to feed 2 if not 3. The orange chicken was of the best I have ever had and I've had a lot of Chinese food. The portion was very generous and I was very satisfied.

Sweet and sour chicken and pork over pan-fried noodles. The chicken was crisp and not all that tough nor flavorful, but the noodles really ruined the plate for me. Really weird aftertaste in my mouth with wayyy too much sauce for the serving size. Serving size was very reasonable though.

My daughter ordered plates for delivery. Four of us each got our own. I had the fried shrimp with pork chow mein and fried rice. My daughter had orange chicken with pork chow mein and fried rice. I was impressed. Very good. Enough for two meals. I really wish there were peas and carrots in the rice and bean sprouts in the chow mein. I'd like to say one of the best I've had, but I can't quite go there. Maybe I'm used to our usual place. I'm willing to give it another try, but next time I'd like to visit in person.

Still my favorite place to pick up Chinese food to go. Sometimes I'll order at the counter and wait for my food to be prepared, but usually I'll call ahead. Nice folks there. We like their pan fried noodles and pork fried rice. The sweet and sour pork and orange chicken are favorites. Big portions!

Egg foo young sucked! It wasn't made with real eggs, more like some kind of filler. Egg drop soup wasn't good either.

We moved into a new home recently so I'm trying to figure out new delivery options available in our area. Wasn't feeling up to cooking tonight so I ordered Chinese. I spent $150. not including tip. Very bad Chinese food. Poorly packaged. Sauce leaking out of containers. A real big mess. Bland Chinese chicken salad with a very sugary dressing. Chicken was good in it but that was the only positive. Chowmein was boring and flavorless. Szechwan beef wasn't horrible. Beef velveted nicely. Good sauce. Veggies so raw and undercooked. Teriyaki chicken did not taste right at all. No flavor. Mongolian pork was horrible not edible. Too tough to swallow. God AWFUL! Kung Pow chicken was nasty. I didn't even realize that's what it was. More like dog vomit chicken. Threw it in the trash. Won ton soup was good.

Great food, lots of it with fantastic flavor and taste, this is take out only and the front of house is far from perfect, but somehow they get the job done. The price not bad with product received. Yes I will be back.

Ordered delivery via Grubhub. The chicken and vegetable with rice bowl was really good and so was the crab Rangoon. They're a very good take out place definitely give them a try. Their orange chicken is great so give that a try also.

Always good food and good forecast least 2 days!! Been going here for years. Nothing fancy just tasty

I have had previous positive experiences with this restaurant, but my delivery order this last time left much to be desired. My friend ordered the orange chicken, which was very dry and overcooked - almost charred. I asked for the pineapple rice to NOT have shrimp, but guess what was in the pineapple fried rice? (Yep, shrimp) The Kung Pao tofu was fine. The order did arrive timely and was hot, but I will be exploring alternate delivery options in the future.

I ordered the orange chicken, walnut shrimp, and chicken fried rice on door dash. My order arrived within 17m and the food was hot and fresh. The food was yummy and definitely satisfied my craving for some comfort food. The fried rice could've used a little more flavor but overall very happy with my lunch. Good portions, we have lots of leftovers!

I don't care what anyone says, I love this place. I've been in and out of the hospital and sick the last three weeks and been craving Chinese. It's my comfort go to. So I went in tonight and ordered wonton soup and chicken chow mein to go. Came home and wow the food was great! Beyond expectations! Everything was still hot and fresh. The eggrolls are some of the best I've had in a long time! Also the kid working the counter was super cool and helpful. Definitely reccomend and I'll be back soon! Thanks guys!

This is my favorite Chinese food place in Fresno! I have only ever ordered through door dash and the food always comes hot and fresh. Some favorites are the orange chicken, Chinese chicken salad, sweet and sour pork. The chow mein and fried rice are excellent. Even with being delivered through door dash, the restaurant prepares the food pretty quickly.

I love to order from flower city! Their orange chicken is classically delicious! The flavor is on point! The beef broccoli is fresh and so so yummy! The combos come with pan fried noodles so if you're looking for classic chow mein you must request it. I'm sure it's an extra charge. The egg rolls are crispy and amazing. I just love everything I've ordered from here. They have orders all day so I think it's better to call ahead so you don't have to wait long. If you're just walking in, you may have to wait for 20 mins or so. The parking lot is shared but there is always ample parking. I'm not sure about now but the last time I visited, you could not walk into the restaurant. You had to place your order at the door. When you were once able to walk in it was always clean and tidy. Not sure what they're doing these days so it's a perfect pick up and go kind of place.

The noodles were dry. The food was very basic. They charge for hot sauce and sweet sour sauce.I wont be going back

I have been going here from the time they opened!! Food is good however service in the front is horrible. My husband picked up Chinese chicken salad and when he came home dressing not in bag. We call she insists it's in bag. I keep saying really it's not she KEPT insisting and said I don't know what we did to it because she personally knew it was. Now why would we need to lie about dressing being missing and I asked to speak to manager she says they are not there. This is few times we don't receive friendly service so time to start look for new takeout spot

Orange chicken was good, just wish the chow main had some more flavor, as well as the bbq pork wasn't very flavorful.

Ok so the food is literally big portions so you can probably share with someone else. Sizzling Chicken is delicious along with the sweet fire chicken and chicken chow mein. Way better than panda Express! When you go in it's only to order and pick up it seems No dine in Service was fast and the lady at the counter was helpful Would love to eat here again

Best Broccoli Beef anywhere. Ask for $3 extra beef. They have other good food too. Always accurate order.

A friend recommended this place to me and I was disappointed in the food . Tasted like food was cooked in used old oil . The girls that took our order very nice and helpful. Probably won't go back

That was the worst excuse for Chinese food I have ever experienced. Popeyes chicken drenched in overly sweet cornstarch syrup, bland and disgusting. Chinese chicken salad: overcooked chicken slices over iceberg lettuce chunks with dressing from Walmart. Have these people ever been to Asia or have they simply modified a great cuscine to please the American pallet? I would expect much more!

Gross! How do you mess up Mongolian beef? My kids love Chinese noodles and were disgusted the only thing good from my order was the walnut shrimp. 54$ down the drain! I'm livid

Called to order steamed veggies for tomorrow. The worker was kind and said it would be ready in 15 minutes. Went to get it. The restaurant is safe and clean. Masks worn by workers and required. That only allow one person in at a ti Good service and delicious steamed veggies. Recommended!

Decent food, decent prices, but many better options in the area. Heavy on the rough cut vegetables, light on the protein. The only seafood available is shrimp. Chicken dish I paid $1.50 extra for white meat was good, chicken used in the dish I didn't upgrade was not high quality, some extra fat and gristle, one piece inedible as it was entirely what I'll call gristle. Dishes normally served over rice or noodles may not come with either, be sure to check, don't assume. Curry chicken, for instance, was curry flavored chicken with a lot of rough cut bell pepper and onion, but no broth and without rice or noodles. Shrimp with black bean sauce had at least one entire rough cut white onion and at least half of a bell pepper half a carrot, some tiny beans with a lot of liquid, but didn't come with rice or noodles so sauce was wasted. Take out only.

Some things are good some are really bad It's a huge and miss cause sometimes the same thing I got last time will taste different by a lot I think one time it made me sick also so I have been avoiding it lately It's eh. I guess it will do when your close by and trying to be quick

My daughter and Gbabies are in town from Idaho and first thing they want is Flower City They may be under new ownership as I didn't recognize anyone in there from the cooks on. One guy walking around like he's the General from General Tao's Chicken. Watching the transaction until money was actually in the cashiers hands, then going back to the kitchen standing behind the cooks cooking to watch the cook. Some reviews are correct, the food does taste a bit bland but my daughter and grandaughter thought it was just fine. I had the Chicken Chow Mien and I want to tell you the chicken was sparse, and I mean like 6-7 small pieces. Also an order or pork fried rice which was good but bland to me. I'm old so my taste buds may be failing me. My daughter and grandaughter just loved their orders. Their homemade Hot mustard- the best. If this doesn't clear you nasal passages nothing will. I'm telling you it brings dang tears to my eyes and I'm just loving it (Oprah's voice LOL) Generous portions and priced reasonable. Would I go back again? You betcha, we have been coming here for years and years. Just seems the staff keeps changing. Jus Sayin

We have ordered here for 3 years, but tonight we were sorely let down. I ordered the L8 with beef broccoli and found that the broccoli was riddled with white worms. We will not be returning. and yes they were worms .

I was recommended to try out Flower City by a family member. She wasn't wrong when she said it was worth trying! I really enjoyed just about everything we had. The portions are large, I couldn't finish my meal. But I did save it for later because it was just too delicious not to want to finish. Is it the best in Fresno not sure yet still have more to try ;) But definitely will probably eat here again!

Horrible food went twice just horrible. I asked for a recommended dish paid more money for a dish that panda could've made better hands down. Waist of money and time. I had hope the second time would be better. SMH

Heard a lot of good things pre-COVID times about Flower City. Was craving soups, but didn't want to make two different soups from scratch. I ordered the Hot and Sour Soup and the Wonton Soup. Neither were great. Hot and Sour Soup was very jelly like. If you've had the egg roll dipping sauce, it was similar to that where it was thick. Wonton soup broth was a very dark broth. Used to seeing it more of a lighter color. The pork wontons were very dense. Neither soup had good flavor.

I just ordered this today and was so disappointed! I've should've just ordered Panda Express. I had the orange chicken plate with pan fried noodles. Bland and awful. Egg rolls. Super oily didn't taste any of the ingredients but the oil. The almond chicken/sweet and sour pork/ pork friend rice place. Didn't do it for me. Tasted bad no flavor it wasn't like mmm this is bomb. Nope. Taste buds are gonna be disappointed!! I'm never going back. So gonna be honest with you guys it was a fail ! Don't waste your money like I did. I spent $55 on those 3 options and I threw it all away. So now on my lunch just hitting the vending machine.

I had a craving for sweet and sour pork. Every place I looked at was chicken. This lunch plate was exactly what I wanted. The pork was amazing! Perfect bite size pieces that were tender with a crispy crunch. Sweet n sour sauce was beautifully balanced. The rice was hard that's my only complaint.The chow mein was actually one of my favorites.

They have the best Chinese chicken salad, pork fried rice, Chow mein, fried won tons and sweet and sour sauce ever!! We have tried Chinese food all over Fresno and Flower City is the best. I will be eating here all the time.

Haven't ordered out from this restaurant since 2020. However, I can say that the quality of the food has changed significantly. Specifically, the pork fried rice and the orange chicken. Both used to be so good but now they are not. Both were lacking flavor; the chicken and the rice were overcooked. The pork in the rice were so small and overcooked, we didn't taste it. The chicken was fried too hard and the orange flavor was nonexistent. I hope they pull things together. If you're going to charge more for the food, it should at least be as good as it was pre-Covid. Don't charge more and give less, whether it's the flavor (quality), or quantity.

So I wrote a review like 2 weeks ago about how the food didn't taste too good So I decided to give it another try. Can I ask? Did they change cooks? My food had no taste whatsoever. I was disappointing since this has been my go to for Chinese food.

Decided to do the semi traditional thing and get Chinese food for Christmas Eve. I found this place through Yelp and decided to give it a try. I liked that they had online ordering, but it was a little disappointing that you couldn't pay online as well. However, the food was ready on time, they limit the amount of people inside the restaurant at any given time (take out only, no dine in), and it was all super tasty, so it was a decent trade off. We got the Flower City Dinner #1, which came with egg flower soup, chicken chow mein, pork fried rice, fried shrimp, almond chicken, broccoli beef, and orange chicken. The total for a dinner for 2 was about $37. Not a bad deal at all, because it was easily enough food for 2 1/2 meals. And it makes pretty good leftovers, even the soup. Just heat it on the stove and not the microwave. My favorite thing from the meal was easily the orange chicken though. You could actually taste citrus and not just sugar. I look forward to trying more of their dishes in the future, because I will be back for sure.

Was in the mood for Chinese food on a Monday! Most places are closed, however Flower City was open! The service was friendly and professional, a lady explained the menu so effortlessly made ordering very simple. About a 10 minute wait & very yummy food! Thank you Flower City for a great dinner!

So In these crazy times, we should help in our areas . I found this place while going to get Mexican food next door. When I pulled up and saw they had their curbside pickup set up with a line of constant customers I just had to get me mine. Next day had the triple Szechuan w/ some pot stickers and fried wontons . Had company over so hope to order enough and go figure we have leftovers. OMG the first impression means a lot to me and this was a home run . Will be back soon ... I guarantee!!!! Will take photos next time but personally the proof is in my belly so I know my posts are my opinions...

Nothing really wrong with the food, I just thought it lacked flavor. Kung Pao chicken was not spicy, pork fried rice was bland, and the rolls were just ok + there was no dipping sauce included. I won't go out of my way to eat here again but if you're craving Chinese food that will be delivered quickly this is an ok option.
