Penfold Theatre Company

As an ambassador for the Round Rock Chamber, I attended the ribbon-cutting ceremony for their new building but had yet to be able to see a performance. By chance, my friend Monica let me know they would be doing a reading for her upcoming show “O. Henry’s Christmas Miracle.” Now, while this is not the full production, I got to experience a crowd enjoying the show, laughing, and the magic of a live performance. Having grown up in New York City, I am no stranger to Broadway and off-Broadway theaters, and I am so glad hidden behind this discreet facade of a building, we have this magnificent temple to the arts.

What a wonderful little theater! I had no idea it existed until I heard about the show: The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. It was an absolutely blast and I even got to be on stage! Amazing performers and staff all around!

The Penfold Theatre (in Round Rock) always does a great job with their productions, but last night's performance of "A Tuna Christmas" was truly outstanding. It is so true to the original, and so well-acted, that you believe you are spying on the fascinating residents of Tuna. Take a trip to small-town Texas for the holidays, where you will laugh and be moved by the warm-hearted people who live there. Get your tickets while you can. You won't regret it.

Nice little, intimate theater although the seats are a little too close for comfort. They have a small snack bar with drinks available.

I thoroughly enjoyed A Tuna Christmas at Penfold Theater. The actors did a wonderful job playing multiple characters. We are so lucky to have such a fine small theater nearby.

WOW what a phenomenal experience my first visit to the Penfold Theater! Incredibly well organized ticketing process, loved grabbing snacks and the option of wine to enjoy during the show, thrilled with comfortable seats, and the TALENT was incredible! Very much worth the drive from Austin and if you haven't seen the Putnam County Spelling Bee show, race to Round Rock as it is PHENOMENAL!!

This was mine and my daughter's first theatre show. She was so happy after leaving. We both enjoyed the whole night. Great performance, small crowd, and definitely no traffic! Do yourself a favor and get in for the next show-whatever it may be!!! Oh yeah, Very affordable!

My girlfriend and I booked tickets for the Spelling Bee at Penfold, and we were curious to see how they would interpret the show. We’ve both worked in community theater for years and were part of a production of the Spelling Bee years ago. This production blew us away. Very nice set, and excellent accompaniment. Amazing vocals, high energy, emotionally touching and also funny. Enjoyed every second.
