5 year anniversary dinner and we were pleasantly surprised at how good the food was. The restaurant ambiance is quaint and romantic. Has kind of a rustic decor. I think its farm to table and the food definitely reflected that. Our server, Candace was super nice and actually had family near Boston and was very familiar with our hometown. She was attentive and made our anniversary evening a much enjoyable one. Hubby had the fried red snapper as you can see it is a whole fish. I had Tuna, cooked perfectly, it came with grits which was my first time having. Good but not my favorite grain. Seemed like they prefer reservations but could take walk ins. We would highly recommend going there. Thanks "Virginia is for lovers!!"

This might have been one of the BEST restaurants I have been to all around. The food was absolutely incredible! The staff was beyond attentive and it was one of the cleanest restaurants I’ve experienced. I’ve been a server and bartender in the past for several years and I truly value and respect the perfect execution of service. The she crab soup, garden vegetables, crab cake, tuna, and key lime dessert were impeccable. Our old fashions were incredible. HIGHLY recommend this place all around!

I went here for my birthday. It was very amazing. They printed happy birthday on my menu with my name. My waitress Jessica was very attentive and all of our food dishes were excellent. The whole fried red snapper, the crab cake and the She Crab Soup was brilliant. Top it off with a Dirty Martini. I will be back again.

I just wanted to take a moment to share how deeply in love our local family is with Heirloom. For years now, this restaurant has been our go-to for any moment that deserves to be savored — from spontaneous date nights to special celebrations. Any time I can steal away a few hours with my husband, I insist we go to Heirloom (because... hello! Heirloom!). It's never a question — it’s a craving, a tradition, a treat. Most recently, we came in for my birthday and I had what might just be my all-time favorite dish — the salad with strawberries and ramps topped with an enormous perfectly fried softshell crab. Lordy. That flavor profile was absolutely stunning. The ramps, in particular, were like a revelation — their earthiness dancing perfectly with the sweetness of those lush strawberries. I can still taste it. And I never get dessert. But that day? Our wonderful server had me at "cured egg yolk and strawberry" and I was sold, I'm a lifelong fan of perfect, sun warmed strawberries. I have never been so happy to be so wonderfully, joyfully full. Truly, I can’t begin to express how much joy every experience at Heirloom brings us. Whether it’s drinks at the bar, a quick bite, or a special event, it’s always been the epitome of perfection. Thank you for creating a space that feels like magic every time we walk through the door. Life is short, savor the company you keep while one of the best meals in VB is prepared and presented for your dining pleasure.

Very nice place. You absolutely should do reservations cause it gets busy for sure. During the summer time the air is a little chilly so bring something to keep that ac off of you. Little pricy but overall lovely experience. Drinks are amazing. Parking is far and definitely wheelchair accessible has a ramp when coming in easy. They ask if you have any food allergies which is nice for those who have them. Definitely would go back for special occasions. Dress code is a casual for sure. I wouldn’t wear sneakers there but people do. Keep it cute in my opinion.

Google
Heirloom is a wonderful restaurant that really caters towards an upper-casual vibe. Compared to some of the other premier restaurants in the 757, I’d say this one is more family friendly than others like ilo or Blanca. The service was wonderful, the staff were incredibly kind and attentive. Honestly, it was some of the best service I’ve received at a restaurant. The food is really good! We had the pork bao buns, tico tacos, fried shrimp, the creole catfish, and a chocolate bear claw gallete. The portions were very generous, the food was fresh, and each dish was executed very well. My reasoning for 4 stars instead of five, is primarily that it is just really good. If you are looking for something more decadent or innovative, there are other places that cater to that more, but they do not match the upper casual friendly setting that Heirloom offers. I would definitely recommend this place to any and all for some great food, excellent service, and a lovely non-pretentious atmosphere.

Hands down the best food, atmosphere, and service I've ever experienced in any restaurant ever. It has earned its place as my favorite eatery of all time. I was floored by every attention to detail. Kudos Heirloom, I'll be back, and I'll tell my friends about you!!!

Yelp
Before we upped and moved out of Virginia, we dined at Heirloom. I was so impressed with the food and service here that I was left with such a bittersweet feeling because my first visit would be my last. My Wife surprised me with dinner, making our reservation for early in the evening, so we could enjoy their happy hour offerings. We were seated in the sun room, adorned with ceiling fans, lush hanging plants and modern farmhouse vibes. Our server provided water and the specials before leaving us to look over the menu. We both started with salads, mine a heaping wedge salad, that was so crisp and tasty. My Wife indulged in a house salad, dressed with a beet vinaigrette, and focaccia croutons, she loved it, unexpectedly enjoying the beet flavor. For dinner she went with Scallops and micro greens with mustard seeds and I decided on the Happy Hour Burger and sidewinder fries ($12) after seeing how good it looked on the table next to us. The Food was sooooo good, and the service attentive and warm. Good ol' Southern Hospitality. We appreciated the intimate seating on the sun room with the option to order from the happy hour or regular dinner menu, as some places only offer happy hour at the bar. I would have loved to return again for happy hour as the El Diablo cocktail ($8) I had was so well made and refreshing. The happy hour menu features, the delicious burger I had, tacos, butterfly shrimp, wings, oysters, a collection of cocktails ($8), well spirits ($6), $2 off bottled/canned beer and wine by the glass ($6.) Such good food at unbeatable prices. Please do you and my FOMO a favor and go to Heirloom! Happy Hour is Tuesday-Sat 4-5:30p...HURRY. Signed, The Happy Hour Huntress

Yelp
Heirloom never misses when it comes to flavor and presentation. I ordered the mushroom toast and crabcakes, and both were spot-on -- the mushroom toast was rich, earthy, and perfectly seasoned, while the crabcakes were full of lump crab with barely any filler (a rare find). Every bite tasted intentional, and you can tell the kitchen puts real thought into balancing flavor and texture. My wife ordered the grouper, and when I say it was massive, I mean it -- easily one of the largest, most perfectly cooked pieces of fish I've seen. Flaky, tender, and full of flavor. She couldn't stop talking about it. Service was friendly without feeling rushed, and the atmosphere was cozy but still had that refined, coastal-modern vibe that makes it great for a date night or special occasion. Highly recommend Heirloom if you want creative dishes that actually deliver. We'll definitely be back.

Yelp
Date night! The warm and inviting ambiance of the restaurant set the perfect tone for the evening. What we ordered- Tuna Poke : Ahi was outstandingly fresh and cut to perfection for every bite along side the kimchi and pickled cucumbers. Mushroom Soup : Amazing special!!! The garnish (dried kale and mushroom) each packed a mouthful of flavor and delightful addition the creaminess of the soup. Creole Catfish: I really wanted to enjoy this dish more than I did, but I feel as though I was looking for the slightest bit flavor. Braised Duck : The flavors of the sides on this were exceptional to say the least. However, the protein was extremely gamey. Service was amazing. There was not a second we had to wait for something that was visually needed.

Yelp
Came here for our anniversary a few weeks ago. Overall, we had a nice experience and would come back. They have a nice selection of whiskey and the cocktails we tried were good. We had raw oysters and the seared diver scallops as an appetizer. The oysters were good, although I felt they were very expensive for the quantity compared to every where else we've eaten. The scallops were good and cooked nice, maybe just a few seconds over. The Pickled Mustard Seed that came with it was nice touch and paired nicely with the miso pumpkin puree. Our server Michael was very nice and helpful with our questions we had for the menu and drinks. I got the maple leaf farm duck breast for my entree and ordered it med-rare. It came out severely undercooked, I'm talking blue rare. It was served sliced and cut side up, so how that left the kitchen is beyond me. They had no problem making me a new one, but they just cooked the one they gave me a bit longer. Since it was already sliced, it was not as tender as it should have been. I am already not one to complain, so I didn't say anything after that and just ate it. My husband got the Prime NY strip. It was cooked correctly and he enjoyed it but he said it was nothing super special.

Yelp
My husband picked this restaurant for date night. We had a reservation so we were seated quickly. The ambience was great and the servers were attentive. For appetizers we both got the she crab soup and the warm olives. I got the dram band cocktail and my husband got an old fashion. The soup was really good. The confit tomatoes and a spiciness to them that was great! For entrees I got the pork chop and substituted my dudes for coconut rice and greens. The pork chop was cooked perfectly. I was surprised at the sweetness of the coconut rice, but I enjoyed it. My husband got the fried snapper, which he enjoyed. I tasted the snapper and it was definitely better than other restaurants in the area. Can't wait to come back for their happy hour!!!

Yelp
Complimentary Pesto was very nice of the kitchen. Server was extremely attentive and knowledgeable. We ended up splitting the meal of duck - prices have increased overall but I thought the food was still fantastic. Puréed carrot isn't my favorite - I would've leaned into a different veggie personally but it did cleanse the palate. *not pictured* was the tuna poke appetizer with roasted baby kale. It was crispy & fresh! I would 100% get this again. My husband hates kale and he said he would eat this dish again! Exceptional food and drinks but one thing that did surprise me was a $2 charge to split our entree? We have traveled the world and never have we come across a separate charge for splitting a dish. It really isn't the money it's just odd... just giving everyone a heads up.

Yelp
Coming from NY we've been finding it hard to find a high end restaurants in the area. But Heirloom hits all the marks. The service was outstanding, food and cocktails amazing. Atmosphere on point. It is a bit pricey but worth it!! Highly recommend. Will definitely be our go to place from now on.

Yelp
Wow! This place is awesome!!!! My parents too me and my husband out when we went back to VB for a visit last summer. My godparents came too - they actually let my parents in on this gem! All the food was great, and the service was too! Our bartender was very entertaining as well. We had the snapper and shared, but we still couldn't fiI can't wait to go back and try more... And since I forgot to post this review 2 years ago when I first visited, I'll add on and say it's still just as great! This time we got hors d'oeuvres on the house from the kitchen. The music choice was a little strange, but the company made up for it!

Yelp
Heirloom in Virginia Beach is a total gem! I've been wanting to try this spot for years. My friend and I grabbed seats at the bar, and from start to finish, everything was spot on. I started with a glass of cab sav (of course), which paired perfectly with our first bite of the cornbread. It came out in a little skillet, warm and buttery with just the right amount of sweetness. Definitely a must-try! For my main, I went with the crab cakes. They were served over a bed of creamy hummus, with broccolini and perfectly cooked potatoes. The flavors all worked so well together. We wrapped things up with the snickerdoodle cheesecake trifle. It SO good, and I'm not even a sweet tooth gal. The bartenders were all super friendly and made us feel right at home. Plus, the decor is adorable--modern with a cozy vibe. Already looking forward to my next visit!

Yelp
Celebrated Pop's birthday out on the gardenesque patio at @heirloomvb. We were welcomed with a complimentary roasted red pepper hummus and kale--perfect for waking up the taste buds. For starters, we went all in with raw oysters topped with their seasonal watermelon mignonette, oyster rock, and butterfly shrimp. For the main course, the local ingredients stood out in every bite. The Maple Leaf Farm Duck Breast was served with a smooth carrot purée, roasted root veggies, juicy grapes, and crispy cabbage, while the succulent Sea Diver Scallops were paired with a rich hibiscus risotto, local mushrooms, and confit tomato. Service was impeccable, and we wrapped it all up with the sweet crunch of snickerdoodle cheesecake! Although it was not a complimentary desert it was worth every penny.

Yelp
Heirloom is a great restaurant. The food and service were both top notch. We made reservations and we're seated within 5 minutes of arriving. They give you a nice, small appetizer after being seated that was really tasty. I ordered the the Oysters Rockefeller, as an appetizer. They were predictably delicious. For my main I got the Yellowfin Tuna, which my waitress said was relatively new to the menu. Cooked extremely well and it paired well with the sides it came with. I cleaned my plate! My wife got the She Crab soup app and burger with fries for the main. I, of course, had to taste the burger, and it was a great burger. Cooked to medium, nice and juicy and the spiral fries were amazing. My wife couldn't stop talking about this burger. Their drinks menu was also very good, and they have an extensive bourbon and wine menu. My only critique, is that our drinks should've had big rock ice. The ambience was great, music that was good, not too loud. The place was pretty full, but I didn't really feel it, it still felt intimate. Pricing was very reasonable also. A great night overall. Highly recommended.

Yelp
The food is unmatched. I haven't tasted GOOD food in a long time dining out. It's fresh and very flavorful. The service is also great. They always ask about dietary restrictions and very knowledgeable of the menu items. The ambiance is chill with dimmed lighting. Not much or no music was noticed. Honestly can't remember.. I was there for the taste although a little jazz background couldn't hurt.

Yelp
It was our first experience and it was absolutely delicious. Each of the appetizers and meals were delicious and the service was amazing. Definitely try it!
google avatar

Yelp
Food was incredible but we were most impressed but the SERVICE! Each staff member was incredibly attentive and knowledgeable. From the cocktails to dessert everything was absolutely incredible. The darker lighting set the mood for a more intimate ambiance as well as the layout of the table seating. Will definitely be returning!!!

Yelp
Last evening, my friend and I dined here to celebrate her birthday. I went several weeks ago, after not visiting for awhile, mostly because of the distance from my house. Everything started off great, as usual. We had drinks, an appetizer (oysters Rockefeller), entrees, and dessert. I had the Heirloom shrimp, which I absolutely love. My friend has a pasta dish that had blue crab. For dessert, we shared the Key Lime Cheesecake Trifle. The service was a little slow, but we were not in a rush, and they really made sure we had everything we needed. So why 2 STARS? Well, the tasty meals were a lot to finish, so we decided to take them home. The restaurant boxed them up for us, and they wrote on the box which dish was which, so we didn't open them. Well, when I drove back home, I realized I had my friend's leftover pasta, and she had my leftover shrimp and rice. I was super disappointed and immediately sent a message to the restaurant. Today, I called just in case they did not see my message. I explained what happened, and the manager made a note on my profile, so the next time I visit, maybe I would get a little shrimp. That is not acceptable! We paid for meals we fully intended to finish. What about compensation for my friend? I am not happy with this response. I sounded very disappointed, but she did not sound concerned that this was not an accommodating offer. Unfortunately, Heirloom is not on my short list of restaurants at this time.

Yelp
I've been a big fan of Heirloom in Virginia Beach for a long time -- their shrimp is always perfect, and I've never had a single issue until our first takeout order last night. Unfortunately, the hamburgers were completely raw inside. I took a bite without realizing it, and I ended up getting sick that evening. I called the restaurant yesterday and left a voicemail because I know this isn't their usual standard; they've always taken pride in their food quality. I'm hoping they'll reach out.

Yelp
Exceptional! This is one of the best restaurants in Virginia Beach! I completely was astounded by the ambiance, service and the food! Came in on Tuesday at 4 greeted with a welcome and sat immediately. The decor is beautiful and lively. Ordered the Rockefeller oysters and fried shrimp as appetizer. Was the best oysters I've had and the shrimp were huge and fresh! For dinner I had the fried snapper came with coconut rice and candied plantains. AMAZING AND FLAVORFUL! Ordered a lemon drop and crush for cocktails and they also were well made. Overall a greet place and I will be back bc it just felt so welcoming and the food was delicious.
google avatar

Benny A.

Yelp
The food and drinks were very elegant. The price of the food matches up with the quality. Great place for dates. The fried fish was huge and had a very unique glazed to it. I also had the big tomahawk steak! You will definitely need people to help finish this one. It was cooked to perfection. The inside of the place has the lights dimmed to set a perfect mood. The only con would be that it is very right inside. You will possibly be touching another person's back to yours while sitting

Yelp
Me and my partner went to Heirloom to celebrate our anniversary and it was perfectly spectacular. The service was spot on. I wish I could remember our servers name to give her the credit she deserves! The drinks were absolutely divine. By far the best espresso martini I've ever had and I'm a bartender so that's high praise. For entrees, we went with the lamb and the whole snapper. The whole snapper is a spectacle and well worth it because my gawd it was good. The coconut rice with the sweet spice from the chili sauce YUM. We will 100% be back, probably for every anniversary, because Heirloom did not miss with anything. Service, drinks, food, vibes, ambiance. Everything was spot on!
google avatar

Yelp
What didn't go well??? If I could give 6 stars, I would. From the delicious complimentary potato salad, the superb White Russian shots, and exceptional espresso martinis, we have absolutely no complaints but thanks. Great service and super kind staff. If you have a heart beat you will love this place, pinky promise

Yelp
One of the best restaurants I've been to in a long time! The ambiance, food, great staff, the orange crush and the Oyster Rockefeller is what did it for me! On the whim, we saw this restaurant and wanted to check it out for lunch. I highly recommend to do reservations because there were a lot reservations and we were "squeezed" in at the bar. There was a happy hour menu and we took advantage by ordering the shrimp and oysters to go along with our meal. OMG! The oyster Rockefeller was the absolute the best I've ever had! And this is the only way I will eat them so I'm pretty a snob when it comes to it. The fine bacon bits and the perfectly cooked oysters is chef kiss!! My red snapper dish was outstanding. You get a whole fish prompt up on a wood board. The aesthetic of the meal had me snapping away on pix LOL! The fish was nice and hot with a great crunch. It was drizzle with a sweet Thai sauce. The coconut rice was moist but the plantains with some kind of powdered sugar elevated this dish even more. The staff were great, always checking on us and the whole dining experience was just overall awesome!
google avatar

Yelp
Came here for my birthday dinner this last week and it was a phenomenal first visit to Heirloom! We started with the she crab soup and the scallops which were absolutely divine. I had a house margarita and then one of their specialty cocktails called "Blissful thinking" that had a mezcal base; I would return solely for that. We both had crab cakes and those were awesome! The desserts were a bit deconstructed and while we weren't fans of the texture (I had the Tembleque and hubs had the beach pie), the flavor was delicious. I will be back! Thanks to Jessica for the fantastic service!
google avatar

Ara A.

Yelp
This place is definitely one of my top choices for dinner. They are very consistent, the food quality is top notch and the staff is fantastic. Both the servers and the management are just amazing. We had the happy hour which is done so well. We always start with the shrimp, but we tried the charred grilled wings and they were also very good but it wasn't hot but more room temp. For dinner we both had the snapper and loved it. They don't run out of the snapper any more so that's great.
google avatar

Heather C.

Yelp
I can see why people rave about this place because OMG we are new REGULARS!!! From food, service, ambiance, it was stellar. We went for my birthday dinner tonight and it was divine. We started with the fried butterfly shrimp appetizer which was so yummy, especially the aeoli sauce !My husband got the crab cakes which were so yummy. The real show stopper was the fried chicken!!!! Our server was very attentive, drinks were so prompt and all around we probably had the best dinner we've had in months!!! We can't wait to go back.

Yelp
It's my hubby's birthday today. I called and made a reservation ahead of time. This is our first time at this restaurant, and I can already predict we will be going back. Drinks: Mine is Vieux Carre. I'm surprised there is a restaurant that can make this drink correctly. It's highly recommended! Hubby's is Heirloom Old Fashion! Hum... satisfied! Appetizer: Their special for today is tuna Belly Sashimi Style. WOW! It's fresh caught of the day, and it's undoubtedly fresh! Too bad the size is small! Lol. Main Dishes: Mine was Whole Fried Fish--black Sea Bass! I requested a much spicier version. You know, being Southeast Asian, the spicy level at the American restaurant is not even close to what we call spicy. 1. The fried fish is yummy. I would give it five stars. 2. The coconut rice = 0 stars, -2 stars would be appropriate! Is this Rice Pudding or coconut rice? It tastes like a rice pudding, which is a dessert. It seems like they pour sweet coconut milk to make the coconut rice. That's NOT how coconut rice is made!!! The taste was so overwhelming that I had to ask for plain white rice. Guess what? They have plain white rice, meaning my theory was right. If you make coconut rice, there won't be plain white rice anymore. Clearly, they mixed the rice with sweet coconut milk. Disappointing! 3. Fried Sweet Plantain. I can deal with this, though sweet plantain is usually used as a dessert rather than as the main dish. 4. Remember I asked for a spicier. Yeah, that didn't happen. They plop a sour Sambal Oelek on the side. 5. I asked for plain rice, and they gave me the buttered rice, which is better than coconut rice. Hubby's was Braised Lamb Shank. He said it's pretty good. A bit sweeter than he would make himself. I would give it 4.5, but there is no half-star, so it is four stars for now. When we return, we will try another menu, and the ratings may go up then. We felt like everything was made very sweet today. The flavor balance was not there. Maybe next time it will be different. Desserts: none. We were so loaded with sweet taste from the main dishes that we just wanted to go home and detoxify.

Yelp
Heirloom restaurant in Virginia Beach did not disappoint! We did their happy hour menu and got several things. The food was good quality and great flavor. What stood out was the service. When plates were done they were cleared. My water was always full. I never needed anything for more than a minute. I am impressed. Atmosphere was good too. I love the plants.

Yelp
What a perfect dinner to end the night on my birthday. Everything was amazing. We even got a personalized menu for my birthday. That was so neat and so sweet. It really added to the experience for everyone. We had Brody for our server, and he was amazing. He was also the bartender, but that didn't stop him from being so attentive to our table. The table started with the large oysters Rockefeller, scallops, and butterfly shrimp. Everything was amazing. My husband got the whole snapper for his meal, as he always does. I normally share with him, but I got the mushroom gremelli tonight. Other people got the tico tacos, scallops, I don't know what else. Everything was perfect. Such a great birthday dinner with great friends and great food.

Yelp
Nothing was inedible, the whole experience just felt like someone trying to create a fancy restaurant but they had never actually been to a nice restaurant outside of VA Beach. This place would not last in DC, Boston, etc. Honestly, maybe not even Richmond. We got the tuna and duck. Both very different proteins but oddly you couldn't tell what type of meat you were eating. Could have been steak or anything else. At an upscale restaurant, my tuna should taste like a high quality tuna and be delicious on its own - not just because the sauce is good. Same with duck, which should almost melt in your mouth. Instead it was chewy and came with basically no sides other than some crunchy onions, so my husband left hungry. The drink was good but for something described as so mango-y it was a very muted/lost flavor. Finally, they charge a 3% surcharge for using a credit card! This isn't a local boutique store. My meal was $150 and I was hungry at the end and you can't cover a basic fee for doing business? Hard pass on this one for me. Left feeling borderline scammed and icky.

Yelp
It was an unplanned mini-date night with my husband, but it turned out really well. We were seated right away and our polite server made sure everything ran smoothly. For drinks, I chose a crowd pleaser similar to Aperol spritzes but based on lavender and Prosecco. My favorite shrimp appetizer was perfect for sharing, and we both loved the main course of deep fried whole red snapper which came with complementary sweet rice and plantain! Our impromptu date night at this restaurant proved successful due to prompt seating, attentive service, delicious drinks reminiscent of Aperol spritzes, flavorful shared shrimp appetizers followed by mouthwatering deep fried whole red snapper as the main dish accompanied with sides that complement each others. Different we find another favorite place for date night!

Yelp
From the decor to the service to the food and cocktails, all a 10! The cocktail menu is especially creative, and we also enjoyed the pacing of the dining experience.

Yelp
Pulling up the this place you wouldn't think too much about it, but as soon as you walk in you're suddenly taken in by the quaint view of elegance and sophistication in a small setting. The hostesses were polite and greeted us as soon as we walked in, we had reservations so the wait was maybe 5 minutes before we had gotten seated. It was Valentine's Day weekend and the bar was packed with what seemed to be locals or regulars, while the rest of the restaurant was filled with people who were obviously having dinner dates. The menu was somewhat of a let down to me as I was just expecting more options, and as a previous Chef, I didn't care for some of the pairings on the menu. Now, what I will say is this is place for most to experience something different if they want to step outside of their normal while not getting too crazy. Their plate presentation and service is excellent as well. Their oysters rockefeller and wings were prepared wonderfully and would be two starters that I would definitely recommend to anyone trying this place for the first time.

Yelp
We had a delightful time at Heirloom tonight. Our server, Kelly, was a joy and was able to provide perfect recommendations for both food and drink. My cocktail was outstanding, the soup was delicious, and my snapper was like an art exhibit! Actually gorgeous (and more importantly, very tasty). I was not a huge fan of the coconut rice it was plated on top of, but the plantains were crispy on the outside and very yummy. The beach pie was like a bonfire on a plate (in the best way possible). If you want an elevated dining experience, I would highly recommend you try this neat place out.

Yelp
My wife and I visited here last night for a date night. I did reservations online, though they were probably not needed given that it was a Monday evening. The restaurant was semi full, but there were open tables when we arrived, again, given that it was a Monday night. It may be much busier on a Friday or Saturday and reservations may be a good idea. The staff was extremely polite, and our server was incredibly knowledgeable as to their drink, menus, and all of the different menu items. I was impressed at the amount of information he could give us when comparing individual dishes to one another. I had a delicious Old Fashioned and my wife tried two drinks that he recommended and all were well received. The menu has some diversity, leaning a bit toward the seafood side, but with options for steaks, pork chops, some pasta and a burger. Appetizers were tasty and light, and dinner portions were decent sized. After our meal, we ordered some desserts to go. All in all, a pleasant, upscale, rustic ambiance with good food and beverages, with a kind and knowledgeable staff. 2 appetizers, 2 full meals, 4 drinks and two desserts for about $200. Would definitely visit again for a special occasion or a nice night out for date night or with friends

Yelp
Heirloom is one of my favorite places to dine, and also a top spot for happy hour. We were lucky to have Jessica again for our server. We started with cocktails, I ordered the fresh daiquiri and it was perfect! We ordered pretty several appetizers off the happy hour menu and made that our dinner: Oysters Rockefeller, fried shrimp, blue crab nachos, and the pork belly bao buns. My faves were the oysters and bao buns! I can't wait to come back again. I'm already thinking of the fried red snapper for dinner!

Yelp
We made reservations for dinner at Heirloom on Saturday night. They are located at 2484 North Landing Road in the heart of the Virginia Beach Courthouse District. We were seated promptly upon arrival and everything just got better and better afterwards. We were seated in the Bar Area and Brody was our server. He was so helpful with menu questions and suggestions. It was our Anniversary and they made our night special by including a card signed by the staff, prominently displayed on our table as we arrived. They were also very kind to have Happy Anniversary on the menu, a wonderful gesture. It's the little things that make such a big difference. We started out with a Wedge Salad and it was delicious. They were kind enough to split it for us because it is a large portion and certainly enough to share. All of the ingredients were fresh and delicious. The dressing was very good as well. We also tried the Bruschetta, (they don't call it that because it's a fancy version of the classic Italian dish) and it was amazing. We enjoyed it very much. The bread was perfectly toasted and the bruschetta was well balanced and delicious. I had a cup of She Crab Soup, that I probably shouldn't have, but I'm sure glad I did. It was amazing, full of chunks of crab, seasoned perfectly and I almost licked the bowl, it was that good. For dinner, my Wife had the Whole Fried Red Snapper. This was a wonderfully presented dish. They had it sitting upright on the plate surrounded with ribbon cut vegetables and Wild Rice. It was served piping hot and the fish was tender and delicious. I had the Pork Chops and I really enjoyed them. They were bone in, cooked perfectly and they were delicious. We had a wonderful evening and it made our Anniversary celebration very special. If you have not already been to Heirloom, make a reservation soon, you'll be happy that you did and you can rest assured that you are supporting our local restaurant community!

Yelp
This is our second time back while vacationing in Virginia Beach. Food and service excellent. Michael our server was fantastic. Overall vibe relaxed but classy. I had the whole fish, just as delicious as the last time I had it. My husband and one of our sons had the tomahawk ribeye special. 50 ounces of perfectly cooked steak. My other son ordered the strip. Also excellent. We will be back the next time we are in the area.

Yelp
Heirloom is everything a restaurant should be. They care greatly about the food they serve, they make sure their staff is knowledgeable on the menu and all the ingredients, and the employees all care about the customers and their experience. When you first walk in, it's like walking into a friend's country home, ready to eat a delicious meal and drink some wonderful wine and cocktails. The hostess staff are very nice and friendly. The open ceiling makes the place feel open and large but the curated seating arrangements make it feel like more of an intimate experience. We sat on the other side of the restaurant across from the bar area in a nice big booth. We watched groups at the bar enjoying drinks and great conversation with each other and the bartenders. Our first server greeted us with water and told us in detail about 3 specials they had that day. She was very knowledgeable and was even able to answer follow up questions about the dishes. We then had another server bring out two tasting spoons from the kitchen filled with a house made jam, cream(?), and granola. It was a nice sweet taste and made us excited to try more food from their kitchen. The menu is small compared to other big chain restaurants but it's curated so well, not duplicating meals even slightly. There's a chicken option, a beef option, a few different types of fish, a duck entree. So much to choose from, all with different flavor compositions! We ended up trying the Heirloom shrimp first, as it seemed it was a staple here. The shrimp was cooked nicely, not over cooked, breading is light, and the house made aioli complements it very well, we had to ask for extra it was so tasty! I'm on an olive kick so I had to try their Warm Olive appetizer. This is made of different olives, tomato confit, fish oil, orange, and shaved goat cheese. I wasn't sure what to expect but this was so delicious. The ratio was perfect for all ingredients but I wish I would have tasted the orange a little bit more. I'm also a big cheese girl and was wanting more goat cheese when I first saw it but after trying it I thought it was a perfect amount, just enough to bring it all together. After ordering two appetizers and two glasses of wine, we were starting to fill up so we decided to order just one entree to share. We were so torn trying to decide on just one! We ultimately landed on the Southern Fried Chicken dish and boy this did not disappoint!! This portion was massive but felt like it was necessary for this meal. The bowl it was served in was unique but this meal was the perfect size for this dish. I thought the plating was so nice! To start, the pimento mac and cheese was the BEST pimento mac and cheese I've ever had, so flavorful! The chicken was tasty as well, the black pepper honey drizzled all over was perfect. The breading on the chicken was super tasty, I just wish it had stuck on more to the chicken when cutting into it. My fiancé got a good piece of crispy breaded skin and couldn't stop talking about how good it was the whole meal. Overall, dinner was so wonderful. Our second server was attentive, flipped our silverware after appetizers and before our entree. He made sure we had enough water and wine throughout the meal. We will definitely be coming back to try more dishes!

Yelp
After thorough research and consideration, I chose Heirloom to celebrate my birthday for Dinner and I was not disappointed. From the start I was greeted by such a pleasant staff that truly made me feel welcomed and kicked off the experience. We sat at the back table of the restaurant which I enjoyed so I could watch the dining room and also felt more comfortable taking pictures of my dishes and conversing with my friends. The ambiance was beautiful and I couldn't imagine a better setting for this dinner. Lighting was present but just dim enough to set a comfortable mood. There was also music played at a nice level that you could enjoy bust still talk over with the table. Our server was amazing and answered all questions we had and made recommendations as well as giving honest opinions and options. For drinks they were nice enough to craft a mocktail upon my request. We also got the Welcome to Virginia Peach which was well balanced and flavorful made with a local vodka and The Pungo Book which had a great mouthfeel. Both were gorgeous to look at. We were served a complimentary amuse bouche to kick off our dining. For appetizers both of my guests had the She Crab Soup which was rich and filled with generous amounts of crab. I ordered the Scallops and I'm so glad I did. They were cooked beautifully and accompanied by corn, okra, crispy bacon, sun dried tomatoes and a light sauce to make a gorgeous balanced plate. I've been really craving scallops lately and this dish met my expectations. For dinner we asked plenty of questions before making a decision and we all were satisfied with our choices. I got the Snapper with coconut rice and Plantains. This dish was truly a showstopper. The whole fried snapper was crispy on the outside and super flaky and moist on the inside. The snapper was served on the most delicious coconut rice that was cooked to perfection and heavily infused with coconut along with super sweet plantains that had a crusted sugar that added a nice textural element. The New York Strip was medium rare and was seasoned beautifully, juicy and tender. The lamb was also a star with the most delicious tzatziki potatoes. Although we were stuffed, no birthday dinner is complete without a dessert so we ordered the S'mores tart to share which was served beautifully with a nice goey torched marshmallow and had a nice cold bite. Overall I have no complaints and I cannot wait to experience this restaurant again.

This place focuses on elegance and excellent food quality. Service too is topnotch, been to Heirloom twice on my birthday and recently my son's and nothing to complain about . My son came all the way from Maryland to celebrate his birthday here, and we chose this place .my son and his wife was so amazed how the food tastes so fresh , yes fresh and the combination of flavour just perfectly compliment the whole entree . Thumbs up to the chef at this fine dining restaurant !! I can go on and on how amazing our experience was, but anyway,No complain , all good things to say about Heirloom .

Yelp
I hate posting this to let the secret out of how amazing this place is, but the steady crowd seems to give it away. The happy hour food and drink cannot be beaten. I can ramble on about it, but just try it. The burger, tacos, pork belly, just get one of everything. You'll have zero regrets. Nice atmosphere... people of all walks... great service. Going back many times for sure.

Yelp
If your looking for one of the best at the beach look no further than Heirloom. My visits have offered impeccable service, culinary masterpieces and an elegant dining experiences. In short they keep getting stronger. Over the years owner and executive chef Brent Cowan has proven he is very capable in the back and front of the house. He's not a newcomer to the Virginia Beach food scene and has built a following among foodies. His passion for food is what makes me recommend them to friends & family. Enjoy unique special menu offerings not found anywhere else in the region. Examples 50 oz ribeye and tomahawk steaks, New Zealand Lamb, duck and Paella. Also they have a strong Happy Hour with both apps and drinks deeply discounted. My most recent was to celebrate my daughters graduation. My order was starters of shrimp and Oysters Rockefeller. Main was ribeye off the special menu and desert was a locally inspired strawberry soufflé. Everything delicious and on point. Cocktail was Old Fashioned and perfection! So good I had two. Also the general manager was seen going table to table. Although we did not get an opportunity he was available as we departed. I personally appreciate how dedicated the full staff is to the goal of kicking butt on every single service. They will make an ordinary dining experience a special occasion every time. Book reservations on Open Table, or call during their hours of operation.

Yelp
If you are in the Virginia Beach area, and looking for a good farm to table restaurant, then look no farther. This place is it! We came here with my wife's best friend's family and had a feast. To start, we got the scallop and ahi tuna. For the mains, I had the snapper and my wife had the crab cakes. The snapper was huge and came with coconut rice and a nice basil sauce! It was so yummy! Can't wait to come back and try more of the offerings!

Yelp
I have always loved this restaurant but every restaurant can have a bad day and Thursday May 16 was disappointing. I went with a friend and everything we ordered was just-ok. Oysters rock seemed bland and parm cheese looked to be the shaker type?! Soft shell appetizer was cooked perfectly but super salty. I ordered their burger and it was cooked as requested but loaded with onions. (Like a big BLOB!) The potatoes were supposed to be garlic fries but they were also so salty I couldn't eat them! My friend got the tuna tacos. She said they were just okay. Our bill was $130-we each had two pomegranate martinis. We tipped forty dollars.....because service has nothing to do with the kitchen. So why four stars and why didn't we complain? Because every restaurant can have a bad day and one bad experience won't stop me from returning!

Yelp
Heirloom last night was amazing! One of the best meals in a looong time! There were 5 of us and we each tried something different and shared as well. Wedge salad, fried shrimp appetizer for appetizers. Entrees ranged from burgers to chicken, steak....but the star of the show was the whole snapper!!! What a showstopper. The wait staff was just as great as the food. We will definitely be back!

Yelp
We only came for Happy Hour and Heirloom was still one of the best restaurant experiences I've had in Virginia Beach. Already itching to come back for a full menu visit. Let's talk their happy hour. It's one of the best in the 757, not willing to argue that statement. Lots of options at super affordable prices, but the quality is absolutely not wavering because of this. We tried every single thing off the happy hour food menu, except for the burger. Only reason we skipped that is because their main menu burger sounds SO much better and I'll be back for that. Our favorites: Their famous butterflied shrimp Oyster Rockefeller (some of the best I've ever had) Wings (super crispy with delicious sauces) Bao Buns The crab nachos were a BIT bland, compared to everything else we ordered so I wouldn't order that again and the mahi tacos were just a BIT overly spicy. Otherwise, zero complaints! Drinks were good, quite a few nice options for Happy Hour.

Yelp
Decided to try this spot during restaurant week and boy did we love it! First of all, they have an extensive bar menu, pages and pages of whiskeys, wines, you name it. We ordered off of the restaurant week special menu(though some of the items are on the regular menu). I really enjoyed the crab cakes I got as my entree, but the real shining star of the meal were the desserts! Do not sleep on these desserts! I got the vanilla creme brûlée and it was absolutely heavenly. The chocolate tart and cheesecake were immensely enjoyed by those I dined with. It isn't a cheap place for dinner, but it's a wonderful classy spot for a special occasion. I would describe the vibe and ambiance as dark and moody tropical farmhouse :D But anyways, give it a try!
